Get top-notch style and versatility with this aluminum and fiberglass tonneau. Tri-fold cover sits inside your vehicle's bed rails and secures upright for unrestricted bed access. Textured, black powder coat provides superb durability.
Features:
The BAKFlip F1 tonneau cover delivers top-of-the-line truck bed protection and a tough, stylish look. This heavy-duty, tri-fold cover keeps your truck bed and cargo dry, cuts down on wind drag to improve your fuel mileage, and allows for full truck bed access without having to be removed. And because this tonneau mounts inside of your truck bed side rails, you get a low-profile look and you can still use your stake pockets to mount accessories.
Convenient Folding Design
One of the BAKFlip F1's most attractive features is that it can be folded all the way up and remain securely positioned on your truck while you are driving, even at highway speeds. This means that you can haul large cargo without having to completely remove the tonneau. Simply unlatch each of the panels, fold them one on top of the other, and flip them back so that they sit upright against the cab of your truck.
Then flip up the prop rods that are attached to the tonneau's frame rails, slide the brackets on the cover down over the rods, and tighten the knobs on the brackets to secure the upright cover in place. Rubber bumpers on the cover prevent it from marking your cab or scratching the glass of your rear windshield. When the tonneau is in this position, your vehicle's third brake light will remain visible.
If you want to maintain visibility out of your rear window, you can secure the folded panels of the cover without propping them up against the cab using the tie-down straps and buckles included with the cover. Just fold up the first 2 panels of the cover, leaving the panel closest to the cab latched in place. Make sure both buckle clips are inserted into the buckle ends on the front header panel of the cover and adjust the straps to ensure the cover is secure.
Simple, One-Person Operation
The F1 is easy to operate. To unlatch the rear panel, drop your tailgate and pull either of the 2 release cords located along the bottom corners of the panel's housing. Either cord will release both of the integrated latches so that you can lift up the panel. To unlatch the second and third panels, pull the easy-to-reach release cords built into the corners of those panels. As a safety measure and to help you get to your gear in the dark, the F1 includes emergency release handles on both sides of your truck bed that glow in the dark.
To close the cover, simply fold the panels back down. Each panel will securely latch back into place under its own weight. When your tailgate is closed and locked, no one will be able to get in to open the cover, thus safeguarding your truck bed and its contents. The fiberglass-reinforced polymer construction will also prevent anyone from peeling the cover up at the sides or cutting through its center, ensuring additional security.
Heavy-Duty Construction
The BAKFlip F1's rugged construction makes it a great match for your truck, no matter what you do while at work or play. It's strong enough to hold up to 400 lbs of evenly distributed weight when it's folded down, so it can support your weight if you sit or stand on it.
Each 5/8" thick, fiberglass-reinforced polymer panel has a sturdy aluminum base with an insulated core that is made of top-quality, closed-cell foam to create a strong, heavy-duty cover. The polymer construction also ensures that the F1 stays cooler than an all-aluminum tonneau. The black powder coat finish with hair cell texture on top of the panels offers superior resistance to dents, dings, and harsh UV rays.
The frame rails are constructed of aircraft-grade, rustproof aluminum and have a sleek black, corrosion-resistant powder coat finish. And scuff-resistant, semigloss black rubber seals run all the way around the cover to help to keep water out of your bed. If any water does seep through, it will run along the gutter system that is built into the frame rails and will then exit through drain hoses that install behind your cab.
Glass-filled nylon latches in heavy-duty, injection-molded housings add to the F1's rugged design and ensure long-lasting, efficient operation. Flush hinges prevent ice and water from building up on the cover.
Easy, No-Drill Installation
Installing the F1 is simple. All you need is a wrench, and you don't have to do any drilling. The tonneau's frame rails clamp to the inside of your truck bed side rails to create a base for the cover. The included bolts secure the front hinge rail to the frame rails at the cab. Slotted brackets on the hinge rail allow the bolts to shift in case you need to adjust the cover to achieve a snug fit.

Hey, everybody, welcome to etrailer.com. I'm Bobby. And today we're taking a look at the BAKFlip F1 Hard Tonneau cover. Now this guy is definitely one of your more premium Tonneau covers and that's for a lot of great reasons. Has a lot of amazing features that really starts setting it ahead of the pack. Right away as you can see, we are getting a very low profile design on here.
One thing I really like about it, as the name mentions, it does have a hard cover. We'll kinda break that down a little bit, but one thing I think is great about it. I can come up here, it's got a great little lean to it. I can start setting my tools up here that I might want to quickly access, kinda sitting around and we're at the tailgate, couple of guys can hang around with us as well, or the rest of the family. Nice little spot to go ahead and start relaxing on.
It also has a great little tri-fold design. As you guys can see, it's gonna have quick and easy access to actually pop open just a little bit the sides of here, and we can actually get that three times out of the way. Now I can quickly access the bed of my truck because it sits on the inside of our bed rails, you're only about 3/8 of an inch to the height added to the bed here. Not only is it gonna be nice and thick and resistant to any kind of damage, or us setting our own tools in here. It also is gonna be made of fiberglass and will be very resistant to those UV rays.
So we actually are gonna be keeping this cover, color on this cover for a very long time. On the inside too, and our frame mounts are made of a airplane-grade aluminum. So it is gonna be very, very sturdy for us. And with that as well, as I mentioned, you are getting that added security threat. Nobody can walk up with a knife and slice open as they could with soft covers.
So as long as our tailgate locks, all of our things are also gonna be secured. On the inside, we actually do have a very easy release system to actually make these move. You'll see that little plastic lever on the inside. As we pull that down, it is gonna be releasing on both sides. Something I really like. A lot of times, counter covers, you're having to play with that plastic or belt. Or that hooking loom loop on both sides can be kind of a mess. However, I really like how quick and easy that is. And if we wanted to, we can just go partially. Or as you're seeing, I can go ahead and fold up all the way. Not only can we get to this position. And if we wanted to, we could actually right it in this position, breaking up our cam buckles here. If I can get them to cooperate with me for a second. And you could see, I could actually attach this to the back here if I wanted. That'll be doing a good job of making sure that we won't actually be losing this and it won't be flipping up as we drive. So we needed something, we had like a, you know, a little something sticking out in the end, nice that we have just a little bit of versatility for our cover system. And with this as well, we can actually fold this up all the way by by giving one more release, and bring it up. And the rubber bumpers that we have on there do a good job of protecting our cab. And in this position as well too, we do have a little prop rod. All we have to do, loosen up this knob, slide that up, slide it back down and repeat on the other side. And you can see how well that does of holding this up. Now I can get in here, mess with any tools or anything I might need, with no problem at all. Now I think the BAKFlip does an excellent job of sealing the entirety of our bed. However, if we have any moisture actually collecting inside our rails, as you can see, you do have just a little drain plug here that makes it quick and easy for that water to escape instead of into our bed. Well, as you saw, I think that versatility of that folding style becomes very, very handy. The only thing that becomes kind of a bummer, we do have it in this position. Keep in mind, we are blocking off our view through the back of our cab. However, we've got good mirrors for a reason. Definitely gonna be a slight trade-off for the versatility that this rack is gonna give us. Now, we already mentioned how low profile this guy is, and I do really like that. Well something that's awesome as well, we aren't actually eating into our bed space that much. If you can take a look here, you can see that we only extend about an inch and a half to the inside of our bed, and definitely nothing too crazy. Only about an inch at the top there, actually being taken off. So definitely not gonna be eating into our bed space, which is gonna be nice because we still want to haul a lot of cargo around. Well, I think that about does it for our look at the BAKFlip F1 hard Tonneau cover. I'm Bobby. Thank you for watching..

Get top-notch style and versatility with this aluminum and fiberglass tonneau. Tri-fold cover sits inside your vehicle's bed rails and secures upright for unrestricted bed access. Textured, black powder coat provides superb durability.Love it. Just wish there was a tie down for when you just have 2 folds open.
Works great at protecting cargo. Am still able
To use the bed with my 5th wheel hitch by folding the cover.
Quality addition to my truck-only bad part is the endcaps on each section. They have a habit of popping out of the channel which keeps it open in that section if you don't notice it right away, which allows water to get in as well as catch wind when on expressway. I use gaffers tape to try to mitigate but it does need to be redone on occasion. If this wasn't an issue I would have offered up 5 stars!
I found the Back Flip cover a well-engineered cover. The cover works very well and with a some adjustment it can be waterproof.
The only issues I have had are the back flip knobs fall off and I have to replace one. The other is the interior panels dent very easily from cargo hitting it. I was planning on putting thin diamond plate panels to help prevent anymore damage.
I bought this cover because I have an F1 on my other truck and it has been a good cover. The F1 gets hot but not so hot you can't touch it in the summer. It does a great job of keeping out the weather and thieves. I have just finished installing it on my 2019 Ram 3500 long bed. The factory rails were out of spec by 3/16" so I had to trim them to fit. That is why I only rated it at 4 stars otherwise a very nice bed cover. I have had my other F1 for 7 years and it is still holding up well so I expect similar performance from this one. Being a long bed does make the panels a little more difficult to fold but it is still pretty easy.
Love this cover. Works to haul anything I could without a cover. The fact I can configure it to haul and secure just about anything that I can get in the box. I’ll never have a different cover on a pickup.
Just got it installed. The installation was easy and straight forward. Sits flush to the bed and looks great.
Excellent product. Purchased for my 2018 F350 Dually to cover my 5th wheel hitch and tool box when not pulling the trailer. Self install. No issues in 12 months of usage. Recommend this cover.
As my name suggests I carry boxes in the back of my truck on a regular basis, and they arrive dry every time.
Also, while pulling my Fifth-wheel it folds out of the way.
It is a horrible cover, it leaks, it is way to heavy, parts already starting to fail.
2022 2500HD long bed. I’ve had several different bed covers on tricks in the past. The is the first time I coughed up the $$$ for a BAKFlip and it’s worth the money. My only complaint is that it is nowhere near water proof and when it rains the contents of your bed will get wet.
Easy to install, largely but not completely weatherproof. The cover has been installed for a year on a truck that sits outside with no fading or deterioration evident. It could do with a couple more rivets that hold the wire to the release mechanism near the tailgate as the plastic tubing occasionally pops out of the track that holds it in. It is easy to pop back into place though.
This product fits my needs perfectly. When towing my 5th wheel I leave 2 panels down and still have a partially protected bed.
Great cover, easy to use. The only issue is that some water will leak into the bed especially near the corners.
I really like this cover, it has four panels that fold back and you can secure. Whenever I am towing my 5th wheel it folds back to the first panel. That provides coverage for my tool box, generator and other items that I don't want to be exposed while traveling. It was easy to install, it locks and it dresses up the bed of my truck. I definately recommend this cover and esp to those that pull a trailer.
It would be a great cover if it didn’t leak. I have to be very mindful of what I put in the bed so it doesn’t get damaged by water.
My entire experience with etrailer.com was excellent. I spent numerous hours researching the hitch and tonneau cover set up I wanted for my 2014 Ford F250. The majority of my time was on the etrailer.com website reviewing Q&A, installation guidance and videos, and expert advise. I chose the Reese Elite Series 5th wheel hitch and the BakFlip F1 tonneau cover. Both products arrived within 10 business days. Installation was as easy and straightforward as expected. The BakFlip F1 really dresses up my F250 and the BakFlip technology makes it very easy to use and gives me full access to my truck bed as needed. The Reese hitch has performed flawlessly.
Great quality. Easy Install.
Bed Rug is a great product overall. Installation is straightforward and easy. I do recommend the use of denatured alcohol after scuffing the spray-in bedliner, to promote the best adhesion. You can purchase a quart at any big box home improvement store. Caution: This product is highly volatile, so be sure to use in an outdoor space and wear the minimum of chemical protective gloves and eye protection. Also, avoid inhaling the fumes! The only reason I gave this product 4 stars is that it doesn’t quite fit very well on the rear sides of the pickup box, where the Canyon has multiple “ribs” near the tailgate. Other than that, it looks great and is a real treat to sit on, particularly when I installed the Bak Flip F1 bedcover.
The Bak Flip F-1 has proven to be an excellent cover for my 2020 GMC 2500HD. It was easy to install with a friends help. It is a good looking cover and has been waterproof. It is very secure with the gate locked. Very pleased.
I like that your able to fold the cover to completely utilize the bed,
I don’t like that the plugs on both sides on each section where the cover hinges continuously keep coming out.
I would look at other covers before I would buy this one again.
I have been very impressed with this cover. It protects things inside from the weather whether rain or sun or cold. It also allows my dirt bike to be transported with out removal.
I loaned my truck to a buddy to haul two dirt bikes and some how he broke the hold up bars bracket to the bed for full use position, but that is not the fault of the BAK72207.
Highly recommend this bed cover if you live in hot or cold areas or transport quads or dirt bikes.
This is one of those components you get what you pay for and I couldn’t be happier. Fits perfect, looks every bit as great as shown in all the pictures. My brand of 5th wheel hitch fits below it.
*** 1 Issue - The installation instructions have room for improvement, having poor illustrations and reads difficult. The installation of this product is extremely easy but the instructions make it sound difficult.
Easy to install and great fit. My only complaint was there was extra screws included. I had to watch install video to see if I had missed a step. Come to find out there was just extra screws.
