Today we're going to review part number AUT2-HON-P. This is the Au-Tomotive Gold stainless steel Honda trailer hitch cover for 1-1/4 inch hitches with a nice black pearl finish. Now, hitch covers look very cool, but they do more than just accessorize your vehicle. This Honda hitch cover'll help keep dirt out of your receiver and help prevent rust, so you can easily install ball mounts and other hitch accessories when you need them. If you notice, it does have the nice, officially-licensed Honda logo. It has a 3-D ABS plastic emblem right here that really stands out. It has a nice black pearl finish to complement vehicles of all colors and it has a UV-resistant black paint interior on the inside of the logo.
It's all mounted on a polished stainless steel base. It gives you the mirror-like shine and resists rust and corrosion. If you notice here on the back, it has a nice one-piece, riveted construction, so there's no assembly required. You receive it just like this, all ready to install. If you notice on the side, it does have multiple hitch pin holes drilled to accommodate many different hitches. You can use your hitch pin and clip or hitch lock you have now; or, if you do need one, we do also sell those separately on our website.

The black-pearl-finished ABS plastic Honda logo is filled with UV-resistant black paint and sits in 3-D on top of a rustproof, polished stainless steel face.It looks nice, the Chrome Trim around the actual Black H Logo looks and feels thin because it is. I would have preferred something a little heavier. The actual metal extension that fits into the Receiver has a lot of play/ wiggle room inside. I wrapped mine with the flat protective padding it was shipped with to help reduce the play/rattle inside the receiver. Possibly a rubberized finish be suitable vs. the metal. Would I recommend it ? Probably, It does look pretty nice in the receiver.
The cover is in itself a very nice looking well made item. The problem I have with it is that it fits very loosely into the hitch! It rattles a lot even with the hitch pin inserted! I wanted a snug fit to keep stuff out and no rattles. Returned it for these reasons.

I purchased this a year ago. The cutouts allow for multiple insert depths and optimal mounting variations. I was concerned about a vibration between the insert and receiver so I installed a rubber seal between the two that allowed for a firm connection and no rattles. No rust or fading (Midwest location) so it has been thru all of the seasons and salt looking good.

One wonders why all covers made for 1 1/4" with and adapter for 2" so there would be no need for 2 sizes. I attached it to my E Trailer hitch on my Corvette. Yes a tow hitch on a Corvette for bike rack.

This is the second time I have purchased a trailer hitch from this company. I only had to replace this product because I was rear ended a few weeks ago by another driver. The tow bar took all the damage and while it had to be replaced, it protected the back of my jeep from further impact.

Very nice hitch cover
I had a cheap rubber cover but it either blew off in the wash or got stolen. With a locking pin this one should stay put. Makes a nice little enhancement to my vehicle and shows pride in having served our country. Glad it arrived in time for display this "Veterans Day".
The chrome cover looks great and was easy to install. We wanted to replace the rubber OEM factory hitch cover with something more stylish. This purchase exceed expectations!
