My order was missing a nut and cotter pin. The box was not busted open, so I don’t think it fell out in shipping. The sleeve in the equalizer is welded in crooked. I am not happy that I spent almost $[XX] on this.

Parts are great quality I deducted 2 stars because they were just thrown in a cardboard box. The hardware was not in a bag and was all loose. Due to the weight of the box, it was busted open upon delivery and was missing the cotter keys and 2 nuts. If the hardware was put in a bag to keep it contained this would be 5 stars.

by:

Very good parts and very good service as usual!

by:

Right products available in stock with fast delivery and excellent customer focused company. purchased many times from etrailer, never anything but complete satisfaction.

Products were exactly as advertised, very quick processing and delivery. The detailed product information and pictures is what sets E-trailer apart from other sites. Very easy to determine exactly what I needed without all of the return shipping that is sometimes required from other sites when you order the wrong item by mistake. I wish all sites were this easy to use.

  • How to Choose Correct Axle Placement for Tandem 7K Axles with Slipper Leaf Springs
Slipper spring setups, like parts # e74SR and # APT6SE for 7K axles, do have different hanger sizes so what you'll want to do is cut off the older hangers and do some mock-ups of your new system before installing the hangers. Start off by mocking up the center hanger setup about 2/3rds of the way back on your trailer. From there you need to measure your tongue weight and shoot for something in the range of 10 - 15% of the weight of the trailer. If you're outside of that range then you...

  • Availability of Rear Hanger for 2 inch Wide Slipper Spring and Complete Hanger Kit
For a rear hanger for a 2 inch wide slipper spring we have the part # 721585 which is 5-1/16 inches tall. Then for a complete kit like you mentioned needing you'd want the part # APT6SE which comes with a 12 inch equalizer.

  • Which Trailer Suspension Hanger Kit Do I Need For 27 Long x 2 Wide Slipper Spring On 6000-lb Axle
To mount your 27" long slipper springs # e67SR you'll need to choose between a kit for single axle trailers or a tandem axle trailer. If you have a single axle trailer you'll want to use the Single-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs - 3-3/4" Tall Front # APS6SE. If you have a tandem axle trailer you'll want to use the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs - 12" Long Equalizers # APT6SE. Since these kits do not come with the mounting bolts to secure the springs...

You will actually just need kit # APT6SE-36 which is the same thing only the equalizers in it are 13-1/8 inches long. The hardware with each is specific to the kits so some of the other parts are different but for 2 inch slipper springs and 13-1/8 inch equalizers kit # APT6SE-36 is the one for you.

  • Why do Tandem and Triple Axle Trailers Use Equalizer Suspension
This is a really good question but here's why the equalizer setup is needed on non-single axle trailers. Its because when you hit a larger bump or elevation change without an equalizer a single axle at a time is going to have to take on the entire weight of the trailer. Since that will overload that axle in those moments an equalizer is needed to distribute that weight to the other axles. It's a pretty simple but effective design. So in real life what that means is that if you were to get...

  • Can Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit APT6SE Replace 11-1/4 inch Equalizer
Are your hangers attached to angle-iron beams that run from side to side on your trailer? That's a pretty unique setup if so. It almost looks like the front one is bent? The equalizer of the kit part # APT6SE that you referenced would work well to replace what you currently have though. This kit does not need bushings provided separately as they are not needed.

With the 26-5/8 inch long leaf spring part # e74SR you referenced and the hanger kit part # APT6SE you also mentioned the dimensions in the chart you referenced would be correct to use. The distance between the front and center hanger should be 28-1/2 inches, distance between center and rear hanger 29-1/2 inches, and the distance between axle centers 33 inches. This will then put the distance from the trailer frame to the axle center right at 4-1/2 inches.

  • Do Hangers Need to be Exact Match to Use APT6SE Kit
Appreciate those measurements, and you are 100 percent fine using the Tandem-Axle Trailer Hanger Kit for 2" Slipper Springs - 12" Long Equalizers # APT6SE. The very slight variance between your measurements and the hangers are not going to be problematic; the differences are only 1/4", 1/16", and 1/16", respectively. The 12" equalizer length is important to have correctly match, but the differences in hanger height are too miniscule to make an impact so you can absolutely use the Tandem-Axle...

  • Recommended Triple or Quad Axle Suspension for Trailer Build
Since you are building a trailer I first want to state that using quad axles isn't ideal. It will cause tire scrub as there becomes too broad an axle base for the trailer to track as nicely. That is why most trailers will use tandem or triple axles as needed for load capacity. If you just want to add the 4th axle for overbuild reasons it will bite you as you will need to replace tires more often. • Tandem Axle Hanger Kit for 2 inch Wide Slipper Springs
Yes, you can mount two 6,000 lb capacity axles that use slipper springs in tandem on your trailer. What you'll need is a tandem axle slipper spring hanger kit like the part # APT6SE which is designed for 2 inch wide springs like what you have. What equalizers do is prevents any of your axles from ever carrying the full weight of the trailer at any time like over a bump. The weight is always "equalized" between the two axles.
