Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.
Determining the Bolt Pattern
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Tirewheel combo has been great! Very durable looks awesome compaired to factory OEM grey steelies so i have zero complaints, worth every penny!
My wheel and tire were back ordered a few days but etrailer customer service staff kept me 100% up to date on my order's time frame and even offered to substitute similar items if I was in a rush situation. I was not, so I waited. Constant email contact continued including notice that my item was delivered. BRAVO to etrailer Customer Service (Bridget and George J.)
I am very pleased with this combo as they arrived fully inflated and the galvanizing is 100% and should last a long time. These are my spare wheel/tire but I would be absolutely happy having them as my primary; probably will order 4 more of these when I need to replace the 4 primary. The unit looks pretty sweet on my aluminium trailer.
Unfortunately I was not able to source my spare tire mount from etrailer as I have 5.25" aluminium frame rails. Upon receipt of my mount I did not like my original intended frame rail position so I ended up mounting behind my jack; etrailer has mounts that would have worked for me. The clearance between frame rail and tire is tight. I will eventually move jack 2" fwd, and move spare 2" fwd as well. I suggest going to Fastenal Store and upgrading the grade mounting bolts - I went from grade 5 suggested to grade 6 for peace of mind. After 100 miles re-torque your mounting bolts and add witness marks.

I never needed to move jack forward as originally planned to do as above. Looks great, no sign of corrosion or rust to any components, no loss of air pressure, still 100 perfectly mounted and all bolts are tight as originally torqued. The unit does not flex or bounce when under way. About 1000 miles towed since installed. Very pleased 100 recommended.
Fast shipping, excellent customer service and they look great compared to my old wheels. Arrived today and swapped them out right away. Will be testing them out this weekend and update my review should there be any changes to my initial thoughts.
I ordered these wheels and tires to replace the ones on my boat trailer that have seen there better days after salt water exposure. The quality looks to be very good and they fit perfectly.

Tires and rims are exactly what I expected, great quality. While some folks have commented about the rims finish to me it's not a big deal, anything dipped to galvanize will show a small amount of running. Customer service was top notch, I received emails when the item shipped and was due to arrive, which was earlier than expected. I will definitely be ordering from etrailer again.
I ordered this product on Thursday and was told it would be delivered on Monday, to my surprise it came two days early and was delivered on Saturday!. The tire and wheel are exactly what I needed. I’m very satisfied with e trailer and I will definitely use this company again.

Perfect !
Bought to use as a spare on my boat trailer. I did have an opportunity to use it last Fall, and it pulled quite nice. Even though it didn’t match the tread or wear on the tire on the opposite side, it worked great. Seemed to hold pressure over the winter without any issues, no cracking or rot that is visible
This wheel had previous damage and was chrome painted over it. Also looks like there is dirt under there too. Tire is brand new but for the wheel itself I am disappointed.

Tire and wheel look to be as advertised. Don't rely on the guaranteed shipping date. I planned on it being delivered on the date they said it would be delivered but they missed it which through a wrench in my plans. Other than that, good experience.
Worked like a champ, although I had to add a spacer in order for the tire to clear the winch assembly but other than that it works great, the tire even acts as a convenient step for climbing into the front of the boat during launching into the water.
I have made a couple short trips on the new tires and I am very happy with their performance. I recommend getting the tires balanced and hope to get years of service from them.

Needed a spare tire for my boat trailer. I could'nt have been more pleased with my order from etrailer. I received an email after my order was placed. Another when it shipped with info on tracking my order (very cool tracking map, by the way) and finally an email literally minutes after the tire was delivered. ETRAILER did a great job of getting my spare tire to me in time for a planned trip to pick up my new boat trailer and the galvanized wheel has a very good galvanized coating on it, it doesn't match exactly the chrome wheels on the trailer but it will do for a spare tire. The tire arrived with the recommended tire pressure so it was ready to go and it did not come packed in a box which I would have had to cut up and stuff in my recycle bin.
I was surprised when I opened the boxes to find that the rims had a lot of galvanized checking and buildup. They were not clean. The rims even had dirt splatter and the holes for the lugs had galvanized fill. This is not what I had received in the past. Not happy with the rims but the tires seem to be good.

Misrepresented. The galavanized wheel/tire combination was for my boat as discussed with etrailer. I asked if they were balanced when I get them so I could determine the actual cost of purchase as well as other questions. I was told the wheel/tire combination was prebalanced. When they arrived, there were no balance weights. On a follow-up call the representative said the tires are mounted to minimize the vibration not industry standard weights. Additionally, these wheels look like they were dipped in galvanized environment at the beach. There are little chunks all over the rims and drips. Horrible. To ship them back was half the price of the purchase. It would bring down the look of my boat trailer significantly. I hope the tires are reliable...Buyer beware.

I will have our customer service team reach out to you. What our tire manufacturers will do is line up the light spot on the tire with the heavy spot on the wheel. This is a type of balancing but not like how car tires are balanced with weights on a balancing machine. Most likely you would not feel any difference having the wheel balanced. If you do prefer to balance them please remember that many trailer wheels are centered by the position of the lug bolts these wheels are lug-centric and not the center bore of the wheel. For best results, have them balanced using a pin plate adapter. This mimics the way a lug-centric wheel is mounted to a hub. The manufacturer will dip the rims in a galvanizing solution and allow the rims to drip dry. This does cause the rim to have a rough finish however will still provide the corrosion resistance needed.

This tire and wheel serves as a spare on my boat trailer. You hope you never have to use it but want it just in case. Very economical solution. I recommend this product. Nice!
