Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Great wheel! Perfect replacement for 1997 Sunnybrook 5th wheel.

by:

I got the rims in a timely fashion, I was able to track my package from time I ordered till it arrived on my door steps, iam excited to get tires on them and on to my trailer!

by:

wheels seem good. one had a 3/4" spot that the powder coat is rubbed off. Quality control fail. The spot is on the tire bead seal area. I will have to paint it before I mount the tires or return it.

by:

Very impressed by the construct of the wheels . They are made in the USA ! and at a reasonable price. They arrived by UPS in a very heavy duty cardboard box with with cardboard and paper separating the two wheels. I was very impressed . No damage at all to box or wheels . Thumbs up to shipping department !

by:

I would say the rims were very nice, they could have been packed better. There were 2 rims in one box, one rim broke out the end and got some damage on it.

by:

Wheels were priced well and e trailer has a great selection
Delivery was on time
Package could have been better, some of the paint was chipped due to wheels banging into each other

by:

Nice looking wheel. I like the way it's packaged.

by:

looks nice

by:

Over the past year we have pulled the camper over 12,000 miles. The wheels have held up well with no problems. They clean up easily and still look as good as they did when purchased. Very pleased!

by:

Perfect match!

by:

Just what i wanted and fast delivery too! Dan at customer service was very knowledgeable and took my order over the phone.

by:

It's like all you have to do is think about needing rims and two days later there at you front door. Very happy

by:

I bought 3 wheels and had new Goodyear tires mounted and balanced. All 3 wheels wobbled on the spinner and the man had to put on a lot of weights to get them true. I pulled the trailer to Alaska and back without any problems.

by:

I received my Dextstar steel spoke trailer wheel faster than expected. I was pleasantly surprised. The trailer rim looks perfect and matches my other one precisely. I'm very happy with my purchasing experience.

by:

Perfect fit and fast shipping.

by:

It’s a rim…made in the USA. Perfect for a second spare on my travel trailer. Same as the spare that came with it. Recent blowout made me want to have a backup for longer trips.

by:

I received the wheels and am very happy with them. Have tires mounted and installed on my trailer. Wheels have a good finish that should look good for years.

So far I am very satisfied with them.

by:

Wheels came Quickly and were good quali ty

by:

very fast shipping will order again

by:

My wheels arrived on the day indicated that they would be delivered. They were packaged well and I found no defects in the product.

These wheels replaced 4 rusty wheels on my 24' travel trailer.

Would recommend this supplier to anyone interested in this product.

by:

Fast shipping and very nice powder coating!, Good packaging.

by:

These rims do not fair well in a salt water environment even if you wash them down after every time the trailer is dipped in the water. I would spend the money next time and purchase galvanized or even aluminum wheels. I will be replacing them this year since the spokes as they attach to the rim seem suspect. May be a great choice is a fresh water environment but not in salt water.

by:

Definitely disappointed. I waited an extra week and a half as they only had one in stock. One had 3/16" sideways wobble and one had that plus 1/8" vertical wobble. Pinstriping looked like a 3 year old did it. worst trailer rims I've ever purchased or mounted tires on. Will definitely make me think twice before ordering again if this is their acceptable quality. I'll pull my new tires back off these and mount some scrubs just for Spares, but I'm not going to run these on my trailer and put up with the endless vibrations.

by:

Great Steel trailer wheel at the lowest price.

by:

the 4 wheels arrived when you said. They arrived 2 to a big box much larger than needed with no packing. The wheels were allowed to strike each other as they rolled around in the box causing damage to rim and the inside of the wheel, as the tire covered most of the inside damage, and the hub cap covered Most of the rim damage, I elected to keep them and not return them.
I suggest you review your packing and shipping procedures.

  • How to Determine Wheel Bolt Pattern For 15 Inch Trailer Wheel
By other dimensions I assume you are referencing the wheel bolt pattern for your 15 inch trailer wheel, and I have added a link below to a help article on how to find the correct bolt pattern. For a 15 inch wheel you likely have either a 5 on 4-1/2" or 6 on 5-1/2" wheel bolt pattern. So for a 5 on 4-1/2" you could use something like the Dexstar Steel Spoke Trailer Wheel # AM20522 while for a 6 on 5-1/2" you could use the Vesper Steel Modular Trailer Wheel # TA25FR. It really just depends...

  • 15 Inch Wheels For New Trailer Axle That Switched To 5 On 4-1/2" Bolt Pattern From 5 On 5"
You will have to verify the correct wheel width required for your tires as we have the Dexstar 15" x 5" # AM20422 and 15" x 6" # AM20522. Both these are our most price conscious wheels and have the 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern you are needing. We do have hubs for a 3,500lb axle with the 5 on 5" bolt pattern if you have a 3,500lb axle and want to retain your current wheels. We have Idler Hubs # AKIHUB-550-35-EZ-K and Drum Hubs # AKHD-550-35-EZ-K which fits the common 3,500lb axle. If you can...

In order to mount a 225/75-15 trailer tire you'll want to go with a 15" diameter x 6" wide wheel. If you have a 15" diameter x 5" wide wheel you'll want to go with a 205/75-15 trailer tire. I have attached some recommendations below for these wheels/tires. • Can Vehicle Rims be Used on Trailer With 5 on 4-1/2 Inch Bolt Pattern
It is recommended to use wheels designed for trailers on your 2006 Jayco Destiny as rims from a Suzuki Vitara or other passenger vehicle are unlikely to have the right specs. By far, the best option is a wheel designed to fit on trailer hubs and also bear the weight of a trailer and work with trailer tires. Since you mentioned your Jayco has 15 inch rims with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern, I recommend checking out the following: - Dexstar Steel Mini Mod Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" Rim - 5...

  • Recommended Tire And Wheel For Trailer With Higher Weight Capacity
The tire that is included with the tire/wheel combo, part # AM32545 has a higher rating because it is designed to fit wheels with 5 lugs and 6 lugs. Many of the 6-lug wheels will have a higher capacity that the 5-lug. You may want to purchase the tire and wheel separately. We have the Dexstar Steel 8-Spoke Trailer Wheel, part # AM20522 that has a capacity of 2,150 lbs. These would be like the aluminum wheels # AM22651, # AM97XR, # AM22651B or the steel Dexstar #AM20522. For a wheel with a load rating of at least 2800lbs you will need to go with a wheel that uses the 6 on 5-1/2" bolt pattern instead like the Aluminum Viking Series Valhalla Trailer Wheel - 15" x 6" - 6 on 5-1/2 - Silver Spoke...

You should note that the ST225 75 R15 tire size you referenced isn't designed to fit 8 inch wide rims. The width range this size fits is 6-7 inches. We do indeed have the wheel you're looking for. Dexstar's part number is 017-149-1x, but the distributor we get the wheel from, Americana uses # AM20522 which is the number we also use. This is a US manufactured 15x6 white powder coated steel spoke trailer wheel with the typical pinstripes. The bolt pattern is 5 lug on a 4-1/2 inch bolt circle with a 3.19 inch pilot diameter. From the 2-5/8 inch center to center measurement between adjacent bolt holes, you have a 5 on 4-1/2 inch bolt pattern on the 5 lug wheel. According to my research, a 205/75-15 wheel can be safely mounted on a 5, 5-1/2, 6 or 6-1/2 inch wide wheel, but I'd recommend a 6 inch wide wheel like part # AM20522. You'd need to find a wheel with a positive offset, which would move the tire closer to the trailer.
