Bias Tires vs. Radial Tires

Bias vs. radial tire graphic

Bias ply tires are designed for off-road or agricultural applications. They are built with thick, durable nylon cords that are positioned at a 30- to 45-degree angle to the direction of travel. The layers alternate in a crisscross pattern, making the sidewalls stiffer so that the entire tire is able to flex easily. As a result, the tire provides a smooth ride and improved handling when trailering on uneven surfaces.

  • Which Load Rating ST205/65-10 Is Best For a 1992 Jayco Pop Up Camper?
I wish I could say this is the exact tire you need Ron, but I will actually need a bit more information from you to know which tire is best for your 1992 Jayco pop up camper. For the 205/65-10 we have a load range B # AM1HP50, C # AM1HP52, D # AM1HP54 and E # AM1HP56. The best way to know which tire is going to be best is by knowing the trailers maximum weight capacity which I can find with either the model number of your camper or you can check the manufacturer weight tag on the front...

  • Tire Load Range Recommended for 2,500 Pound Trailer
If the trailer's GVWR is 2,500 pounds you'll be fine with a Load Range D or E tire. A 205/65-10 tire with Load Range D like # AM1HP54 is rated up to 1,330 pounds at 70 psi and the E tire like # AM1HP56 is rated up to 1,650 pounds at 90 psi. Either of those will be fine.

  • What Size Trailer Tire Is Needed To Replace a 20.5x8-10 Load Range D Tire?
You assumed correctly Jeff, the 205/65-10 is the correct metric size for the 20.5x8-10. you currently have. The Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1HP54 is the only load range D tire we carry in the 205/65-10 tire size you are needing. We do also have a load range E # AM1HP56 if you are wanting to go with a higher capacity tire.

  • How To Choose Correct Load Range for 205/65-10 Tire
The 205/65-10 tire I recommend is the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire which is offered in a load range b (910 lbs) part # AM1HP50, load range c (1,100 lbs) part # AM1HP52, and load range d (1,330 lbs) part # AM1HP54. In order to choose the correct load range you will need to know the total weight of the trailer and choose the set that meets or exceeds this figure. For example, if your trailer weighs 2,000 lbs then you will want to go with the load range c or load range d tires.

  • Parts Needed to Add Electric Drum Brakes to 1996 Pop Up Camper
Unless your axle is in bad shape or it uses a weird set of bearings and seal you shouldn't need to replace it just to swap your hydraulic brakes over to electric. We actually have everything that you need for this conversion. To replace your older size 20.5x8-10 tires/wheels I recommend the Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10" White Wheel # AM3H410 if you need the tire and wheel or part # AM1HP54 for just the tire (which is the current size listing of your tire size). This has a load...

  • What is the Speed Rating of the Kenda 205/65-10 Load Range D Tire
I reached out to my contact over at Kenda for clarification on this and they mentioned that all of the Kenda 205/65-10 tires (LR C, LR D and LR E) have a speed rating of 81-mph unless otherwise noted on the tires. The Kenda 205/65-10 Tires- Load Range D # AM1HP54 would likely be the best solution for you because of the added capacity of the tires and the 81-mph rating; this tire is available with a 5 on 4-1/2" bolt pattern wheel using part # AM3H430.

  • Replacement for 20.5 x 8-10 Tire and 5-Lug Wheel
So you mentioned wheel, though the 20.5 x 8-10 size you mentioned is actually a tire size, which leads me to think you are looking for a replacement wheel and tire of that size. Since that's an older tire size, what you will need is the modern equivalent, a size 205/65-10 tire, along with a wheel that the tire will fit on. We have just 205/65-10 tires, or just the 5-lug 10 inch rim, or a combination of the tire and rim together if that is what you are looking for. Here are the options...

You will want to choose the correct weight rating based on your weight to get the best ride quality. I have listed the maximum weight rating for each tire below. You will want to use the tire closest to your maximum weight rating on your golf cart. If you selected a higher rated tire you will get a stiffer ride since the tires will deflect...

  • Comparable Replacement Tire for 20.5x10-10 Tire on Snowmobile Trailer
I have a solution for you, but we don't have that particular size tire available currently; I know that the 20.5 x 8-10 is a more common size and maybe you actually have those on your trailer currently. The 20.5x8-10 trailer tires are going to be 20-1/2" tall and 8" wide so you can use the Loadstar K39 # AM1HP54 which are 20.6" tall and 8" wide, so they're a perfect match, really. These tires have a Load Range D (1330-lbs per tire capacity) so they should be more than enough for your snowmobile...

  • Are There 205/65-10 Trailer Tires With PSI Ratings Between 60 and 90
We do indeed offer 205/65-10 trailer tires with PSI ratings higher than 40 and in the 60 to 95 range you asked about. These will be tires with higher load capacities, so you can choose from the following: - Maximum Load: 1,330 lbs at 70 psi: Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire - 205/65-10 - Load Range D # AM1HP54 - Maximum Load: 1,650 lbs at 90 psi: Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire - 205/65-10 - Load Range E # AM1HP56 That rating is per tire, so two of the load range D tires have a combined...

Those are some extremely old tires. We recommend changing them every 6 years or so regardless of tread wear. The metric size for your 20.5 x 8 - 10 tires is 205/65-10. Our most popular tire in this size is # AM1HP54. It has a load range D and max capacity of 1,330 pounds at 70 psi. If you'd like a higher rated tire we have # AM1HP56 with an E load range rated for 1,650 pounds at 90 psi. Both tires have a 2-year limited warranty.

  • Spare Tire Replacement for 2019 Triton Snowmobile Trailer with 205-65R10 Tires
I would first start by checking the load range of your existing trailer tires to make sure that you get a match for the set; if you currently have Load Range D tires (which I would suspect with a snowmobile trailer) you'll want to replace it with the same. If you've got a Load Range C tire, you'll want a Load Range C spare. If you only need the tire, and not a tire/wheel combo, I recommend using the Loadstar K399 Bias Trailer Tire # AM1HP54. • Are 20.5 x 8-10 and 205/65-10 Trailer Tires the Same Size
Although I can't speak to why someone printed that on a tire, but the two sizes are almost exactly the same, so maybe it was an approximation by the tire manufacturers. Essentially you can swap the two out with no issue because a 20.5 x 8 -10 is 20-1/2 inches in diameter and 8 inches wide, while a 205/65-10 tire is 20-1/2 inches in diameter and 8.3 inches wide, so the difference is extremely slight. The modern equivalent for a 20.5x9x10 is tire size 205/65-10 like on # AM3H430 that you have referenced. This tire comes already mounted on a wheel with a 5 on 4-1/2 bolt pattern. If you are just looking for the tire then the same tire without the wheel is # AM1HP54. Current pricing is available on the product pages. The 205/65-10 and the 20.5 x 8-10 would be very close in size. Assuming that 20.5 is the diameter of the tire and 8 is the width. The Kenda 205/65-10 Bias Trailer Tire with 10 inch White Wheel, # AM3H390, for example, is 8.3 inches wide with a diameter of 20.5 inches. So it will be slightly wider than a 20.5 x 8.
