Hi there heavy haulers. Today we're going to be taking a look at Air Lift's LoadLifter, Air Line Upgrade Kit. These heavy duty braided stainless steel airlines will replace your old nylon airline tubing. And the old airline tubing that we've got here is plenty fine. It does work, but it is sensitive to heat and tears and cuts and road debris. Whereas our stainless steel braided lines are going to be significantly more durable and resistant against heat.
You'll receive two in your kit of equal length to route to from the back of your vehicle up to your airbags. And the other end is going to connect to new fittings that you'll receive that'll thread into your airbags. We've got the 90 degree swivel fitting installed on ours, but you'll also receive a straight fitting included in your kit. So you can just thread it straight down if that's a better fit for your particular vehicle. Each end of our steel braided airline is going to have a female threaded fitting that will thread on to the fittings in your airbag, as well as the air fittings at the back of the vehicle for airing it up. This is going to be a stronger, more robust connection than your quick connect fittings that come with a standard Air Lift kit.
Each of our braided hoses is around five feet. So you'll receive plenty to run from your airbags to your fittings here at the back of the vehicle. You'll also receive some additional nylon airline tubing included with your kit, as well as an adapter fitting that will take our stainless braided line and screw onto one end and go to a quick connect on the other end so we can attach it to regular nylon tubing. This is nice if you have an air compressor system or any other accessories that you're running off of the air pressure that you have for your airbag system. Your old lines are going to go into either a straight or 90 degree fitting in your airbag. And this is just a quick connect fitting.
If you try to pull the hose out, you're not going to be able to take it out and it's installed by just pushing it in. So if you're going to be replacing this, you'll not only need to unthread your old fitting, but take your nylon tubing out of there as well. Because in most cases, you will have a difficult time leaving this in. To remove your airline tubing here, you'll just use a wrench or you can even do it by hand. It's pretty difficult to do it by hand though.
So I just use, I suggest using a wrench that's close to the size of your airline tubing. Press the wrench against the fitting until it crushes the end. And then you can just pull the tube out. See how this piece just moves in and out.And if you are going to be connecting into an air compressor or anything, and you're still going to use some of this line for those other accessories, it's as easy as pushing it together, to get it to lock into place. Before replacing your airlines, you should remove any air pressure that you do have on your airbags. This will ensure you don't get any surprises when disconnecting your lines. Some reasons you might consider this upgrade is if you do a lot of off-roading. These are a more robust, stronger, durable line. And since they're stainless steel, they're going to be able to resist against the elements. Another reason you might consider them is if you've got a show truck and you just want the nicest look for your vehicle, especially I know you guys up there with lifted vehicles. A lot of people are so high. You can just walk up and look underneath and we want it to look pretty for everybody. And the last reason you might consider it is if your vehicle is just in a difficult installation process for it, where the lines may be close to an exhaust pipe and there's just not a very good routing option. And you're worried that your old nylon lines might start to deteriorate or melt because of how close it is, these are going to be a little more robust. You still don't want them sitting up against an exhaust, but they are going to be more resistant against heat in comparison with a nylon line. And that completes our look at Air Lift's LoadLifter, Air Line Upgrade Kit.

This kit includes 2 stainless steel air lines to upgrade your Air Lift LoadLifter 5000 or LoadLifter 5000 Ultimate air springs. Braided stainless steel lines are rustproof and more durable than standard nylon lines. Nickel-plated fittings included.I just completed a 1500 mile haul in my 2008 Dodge (yeah, it's a Ram) 1500 pickup with a near 1000 lb. ATV in the back. How did it go with the LoadLifter 5000 Airbags? Fantastic! Also, having good tires made a difference as well. I pumped up the airbags to 25 psi, the rear tires to 60 and off I went. Not once did I detect the pickup bottoming out on unexpected dips in the roads. Adding the airbags allowed my pickup to ride level and returned stability from what otherwise would have been a maximum load condition where the truck could have been a bit overburdened.
Criticism? I'll see about a very slow air leak in both bag sides. They were down to around 10 psi when I returned after the five day trip. And note, I went for the stainless steel wrapped hose upgrade. It's likely a connection. Yet I'm aware of the top "pivot" inlet/outlet where the bags receive air. I hope that's not the air leak source.
All in all though, I'm very happy with this system. I'll give the connections a soapy water "look" and see if I can make the LoadLifter system beyond ideal.
Last note, and this regards DIY self installers; Safety! You'll be raising your pickup to lower the axle and removing the rear tires for access. Your truck needs to be absolutely solidly stable before you go to work! Jack stands really don't extend far enough. I had the benefit of using a chain hoist attached to the rear hitch. If you can't safely secure and stabilize your pickup take a pass on the DIY aspect and hire a professional with a conventional lift. The extra cost is immaterial to a possible injury to yourself or worse.
product received in a timely manner for one. just installed the braided air line and fittings today. the 5.5 foot of line was very adequate for my needs. durability time will tell but I'm confident I will not have any issues.
Great kit and quality. Wish the braided lines would have been longer but still a great kit.
I love this setup.
I would give a five if you did not have to buy the extra line for the compressor, need to make them two separate items
Bought this to upgrade with stainless steel lines and two of the four fittings leaked. Shouldn’t half to put Teflon on flared fittings
exactly what we needed. excellent customer service. fast shipping. great company
Arrived on time worked as was advertise d,rtised
I first bought a Firestone air bags system, still going good on my old truck, 15 years old. The Airlift kit leaked right away, couldn’t find the leak. While getting oil changed my GM mechanic found a swivel connection that leaked. Do away with that swivel which isn’t needed
Haven't opened boxes yet but it arrived with boxes in one piece and before estimated delivery date. So far, so good
The hoses and the length were just the right for my 2017 F150.
I love the kit's inclusiveness of parts. My only problem is that you do not sell the straight through air valve filler connector tube separately as that is the only thing I needed. Consequently, I paid $89.00 for this valve that broke when I should have only paid $5.00 to $10.00 for the one item. Otherwise the kit is complete and I will have spare parts for the kit I installed originally.
E trailer was excellent to deal with very helpful and knowledgeable on the phone very efficient receive my order very quickly. The trailer was excellent to deal with very helpful and knowledgeable on the phone very efficient receive my order very quickly.
Quick delivery. Impressed the air line connector to air bag plate already had plumbers tape on the threads. Simple to install.
Make sure to install the upgrade fittings before you install the bags or you have to pull things back out to remove the standard fittings to install the upgrade. Otherwise things went very smoothly.
I wish I had ordered this Upgrade when I did mt other Dually. I believe that it will withstand the use and loading much longer than the normal hardware.
Thank you
it was a snap to put on
Great to do business with this company!

Most fittings come with a sealant on them, however, the manufacturer does recommend using thread tape [ie. Teflon or plumbers tape] to prevent any possible leaks. Especially if the fittings have been installed once before. However, if it is constantly leaking, even with the thread tape, there may be a manufacturing issue with the fitting itself. If that is the case, I highly recommend filing a warranty claim with Air Lift. I will send you their contact information via email.
