Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Perfect fit!! Easy install!! I love that the bearings came pre greased

by:

It came here a day sooner than expected. It was installed on my camper 10 minutes after the delivery driver brought it. Very happy with this purchase

by:

After one year still the trailer working good. I took my vintage HiPoint fiberglass Motocross, and added an additional pair of brakes. 2 axles, just one set of brakes from the factory as the trailer was so light, as the other axle had the mounting plate, for back up I figured it was a good insurance. Everything fit, bearings backing plates, and the drums tracked correctly behind the originals. Also added vents on both sides as there were none in it.

Working stopping without fail for the past 3 years. Good stuff.

by:

straight foward install, no complaints, and remember when applying the dust cap, light pressure, i dented this one :-)

I cracked a wheel hub changing bearings and races on my pop up camper. It's a smaller hub so nowhere in town had one. I called etrailer with the dimensions and it was a perfect fit. Excellent customer service from beginning to end. Within a few days of ordering we were back on the road. Thanks etrailer!

by:

As other reviewers have stated: getting hubs without this mystery grease would be better. All that the item description page says is that its "Lithium complex, multipurpose grease", which means that it has additives, and it's those very additives that cause problems when two incompatible greases are mixed. Consequently either that same grease has to be used for the life of the hubs or they and their bearings have got to be cleaned out so that a known grease can be used. Since calls (plural) to etrailer only produce speculation as to what grease might be compatible then that junk has to come out, with the best time to expend the non-trivial effort and dollars to remove and replace it being at installation.

by:

Product arrived in excellent condition and clean. I was eligible for free shipping. Order was placed on sunday afternoon and received north of NY state on next friday. I would definitely consider buying from etrailer again.

  • Replacement Brakes, Hub and Drum Assembly with L44649 Inner and Outer Bearings on 2000lbs Axle
I have a solution for you, but the # AKUBRK-35-D are 10" brakes and will be too large for the hub/drum assemblies that fit on your axle. Instead you'll want to use the Dexter # 23-398-399 which are a 7" brake assembly that can be used with wheels between 10" and 13" diameter. It sounds like you also need new hubs, so you can use the etrailer Axle Tech # AKHD-545-2-2K which are a 2000-lb capacity and have # L44649 inner and outer bearings to match your specifications. This hub and drum assembly...

  • What is The Limiting Factor on 7" Trailer Brakes That Requires a 10" to 13" Wheel?
The Electric Trailer Brake Kit # AKEBRK-2 along with the Hub # AKHD-545-2-2K and Axle # ASR2000S01 will all give the 10"-13" wheel size as those are the wheel and tire sizes that have the similar weight ratings for the components. By using larger wheels and tires that have higher weight capacities the tires are to stiff and rather than absorbing road shock it transfers that to shock to the hub and spindle. The additional shock can damage these components as well as other parts of your trailer...
