Video Transcript for Let’s Check Out the Timbren 1" Spacer For Raised Frame Vehicles

Michael: Hi there. I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today, we're going to take a quick look at the Timbren one-inch spacer for raised frame vehicles. Now Timbren does recommend that you have a half to one and a half inches of clearance between your Timbren and the contact point when the truck isn't under a load. If the clearance is more than what's recommended, then a spacer is going to be the ideal solution for you. Now, this spacer measures one inch thick; has an overall diameter of four inches. And the hole here in the center will accept a three-eighths inch diameter hardware.

Remember that the hardware is going to need to be longer since you're adding a spacer. You can go to your local hardware shop and pick something up, that's exactly what we do here when we install these on customer vehicles here in our shop, so you should be able to find that pretty easily. Now, this is the one inch spacer. There's also a half inch spacer. So if you need just a little bit more than the one inch here, or maybe just a little bit less, you have that option as well. You can find that here at etrailer.com using the part number that you see on the screen there. So if you're needing a little bit more space for your Timbren Springs, this is going to be the piece that you need. That's going to complete our look for today.

Again, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Thanks for watching.

exactly what I needed. fast shipping, good help by the salesperson

by:

Should have been included with the timbrens. My truck make and model were entered and your site said it would fit my vehicle. But I needed 2 of these for both sides so the timbrens would engage with the axle.

by:

I updated my leaf springs recently and now when I hook up my trailer the timbres don’t engage anymore. The back is now 2 inches higher. So I got 4 1” spacers and put them on. Now I have a one inch space like I used to have. They seem to work great. The hardest thing on installing them was to get the old rusted bolts loose. Also needed 2.5” 3/8-16 flathead bolts for my install. They are a little harder to find and I could only find them with a slotted head.

by:

Spacers are great. They are just what I needed to get my sumo springs up to the frame of the trailer.

by:

This is an excellent product that helped level my 4runner while pulling my travel trailer. By preventing the back end from sagging, the front wheels stay fixed to the road for proper steering. I believe the 3/8 bushing was too small and I required 1/2 inch instead. Kaylyn at etrailer.com went above and beyond their normal customer service and got me in touch with the sales rep for Timbren, who promptly sent me the right size in time to make my big trip. He worked with me to find the right size for my after-market lift kit. In a time that companies are indifferent at best, etrailer.com makes the customer feel important in a sincere way. I also love e.trailer's selection and fast shipping.

With our 2007 Tundra we pull a 2016 Lance twin axle travel trailer. Lance advises a towing height of 20.5" from the road to the top of the ball hitch. To bring my Tundra up to the right height, I originally purchased etrailer Timbrens. However, after installing the Timbrens the Tundra was still too low. By adding this 1" spacer the height is now about 20.25". The pictures show the Tundra with just the Timbrens and then after adding the spacer. If you buy this product, you'll need to purchase longer Timbren bolts; etrailer mentions that on their video. I want to thank etrailer for providing great information and excellent products.

I have a 5.7 V8 Toyota Tundra. I run a dumpster rental and hauling company. I have Hellwig 2,500 pound helper springs and 6,000 pound Timbren shocks with the 1 inch Timbren spacer on the rear of my truck. Below is a picture of a 11,000 pound load hooked up to my tundra with 1,000 pounds in the truck bed as well. Zero squat. I love Timbrens products. Heavy duty. Perfect for my needs. They have a load on them 24/7/365 between the 1,000 pounds of tools and equipment in my truck bed and the very very heavy trailers I pull on a daily basis. Thank you Timbren! Have a trailer behind my Tundra daily. Power is NEVER an issue. It pulls like a diesel. Just needed to beef up the rear suspension a tad and this did just that. I'm all set now! Looking to get the front Timbrens sometime soon to. Not that I need them, more just a want. I do have a 400 pound HD winch bumper on the front of my truck but it's not causing any nose diving or anything. Just like the extra support provided by the Timbrens. Never hurts.

by:

It’s pretty good but it does ride a little rough. But it works and doing what I need it to do.

by:

So far so good, I added Sumo Springs to my 4runner, but I have a 2" lift, and needed 2 of these spacers on each side to keep the Sumo Springs at the proper distance from the axle, seem to be good quality.

by:

I have Timbrens and needed a spacer to improve the squat of my 2017 F150 after I bought a 2018 Lance 650 truck camper. Works perfectly. Rides great.

by:

These “overloads” are such a great answer to suspension needs! They are made with high grade materials and the installation was a snap! I would buy them again many times over! Don’t mess with air bags, compressors, air lines and all that “stuff.” These are the deal!! Pictures of before and after. Simple way to add significant suspension payload quickly with little fuss.

by:

Excellent spacers to use on lifted trucks. 2" lift used two 1" spacers.

by:

Looks great have not put a heavy load on it yet. Had to use three 1in spacers I have a 4.5in suspension lift on my 2011 F250 4wd.

by:

These work fine with Sumo Springs, which is what I needed.

by:

I use this with the timbren SES for my 2016 Tacoma. I tow a 5500 pound trailer with 900 pound tongue weight. Truck squats maybe 1 inch and that's it...incredible. Ride quality while not towing is indistinguishable from stock other than there is a very noticeable reduction in body lean while cornering. I liken this to the same feeling as installing larger sway bars on a sports car. This is just st an added benifit if the timbren system. Highly recommend anything timbren puts out. Etrailer also has outstanding customer service.

by:

This is my 3rd order over the last several years I've made with etrailer. They are always friendly and happy to help you with your order. If you have any questions about one of their products be sure to contact them before moving on to another source. They fill orders quickly and accurately.

by:

These worked great. I needed at least 3/4 of an inch more Because my truck is lifted. Just needed to get longer bolts.

by:

You don’t need these if you have a front end leveling kit on a Silverado 1500. It is too much. The Timbrens are installed at the frame and the extra half inch that far back on the a-arm makes the suspension way too stiff. On a fun note, going to take these out, I tripped backwards over the tire I had off my truck and ruptured my quadriceps tendon. Still recovering almost a year later.

by:

Purchased item TGMRYS4 for my 2008 Tahoe 4x4, once installed I had a 3" gap between bellows and contact pad. Pulling my trailer made no difference with Timbren Bellows so I had to install the 1" spacers to come close to the recommended spacing from the instructions. After research I found out that Timbren TGMRYS4 fits multiple vehicles with different ride heights. I may still need the 1/2" spacer to comply with Timbrens recommendations of 1 1/2" clearance. GREAT product to fix issues like mine.

by:

Well made easy to install.

by:

Great product!! I was blowing out airbags left and right when I learned about the Timbren system. I added the new kit, preloaded it, and what a great ride! I bought these spacers to add a bit of lift to the rear end of my truck. The guys sent my order out fast and it isn't some knock off, junk either. It's the real deal. Thanks!!

by:

Product is of solid rubber construction ...and if you actually needed the spacers...it would work fine.
I have a 2015 F150 4x4 with a 1" lift in the rear of the truck & a 2 1/2" lift in the front of the truck. I asked etrailer "experts" what recommendations they had when I ordered the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System.
Due to my 1" lift, the "etrailer experts", recommended I also purchase and add these 1" spacers to the Suspension System Enhancement.
I watched their installation video where the experts suggested to leave a 1" space between the bumpstop system and the axle.
What I discovered is ...if I installed these spacers, the bumpstop was actually resting on the axle ..giving me a very stiff uncomfortable ride without any load in the truck.
Bottom line...for installs on a 2015 F150 4x4 with a 1" lift...NO SPACERS ARE REQUIRED....SAVE YOUR MONEY.
Without the 1" spacers, (with no load in the truck), I found the Rear Suspension Enhancement System rested 1" above the axle. I found the ride was better and the system will activate & perform once under a load. If you do decide to use the spacers make sure you order quantity "2". Don't assume they come in sets or you will be paying for another shipping charge when you order the second spacer. I hope this helps someone.

by:

these will add some stiffness to the rear suspension of my 2013 transit connect
after i have my rear leaf springs redone .

or i may just go with the firestone air bag system in the fall .
but i am enjoying these jouncers now , to test them out

by:

Installed last night in under 30 minutes very happy!

by:

I installed a leveling kit in my Silverado 3500. I wanted to ensure my headlights were pointed properly when my truck camper is loaded. The spacers provide quicker contact with the timbrens to the axle keeping the rear end level. They work as designed. You will have have to provide your own nuts and Bolts.

  • Recommended Helper Springs For A 2020 Jeep Gladiator With A 2 Inch Lift
When it comes to installing helper springs on your 2020 Jeep Gladiator with a 2 inch lift I recommend The Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System # T76FR. This system has a 3,000 pound capacity and sit above the rear axle to help stabilize and level your Jeep Gladiator. You will also get a better ride because they absorb road shock and improve roll stability. They're easy to install and use. The spring work independently - side-to-side, and help compensate for off-center loads. Make...

  • What Is Recommended Space for SumoSprings On 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500
The SumoSprings Solo Custom Helper Springs part # SS45FR which are a fit for a 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 will provide around a 1/4"-1/2" gap between the spring and contact point. These will have a much tighter fit than the Timbren Rear Suspension Enhancement System part # TGMRCK15S but since they are softer won't create any ride quality issues. If the vehicle has been lifted, you can use spacers like the Timbren 1" Spacer For Raised Frame Vehicles part # A25723-90AH00.

  • Can Spacer be Used on Lifted Jeep Gladiator with SumoSprings Kit
How William, how big of a gap is there? With the SumoSprings they recommend a gap of between 1/4 inch and 1/2 inch so you might need spacers. We have heard of people being able to use Timbren spacers like part # A25723-90AH00 with the SumoSprings kits. This is a 1 inch spacer.

  • How Does Lift Kit Spacer for Timbrens Fit into Kit that Fits 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500
I attached a picture that shows how the Timbren # TGMRTT35D that you referenced gets assembled. The spacer # TA25722-90P00 you referenced would go between the numbers 2 and 3 and you'd be set. See attached picture. You will need to provide a longer bolt though so that it can all fit together. The same portion of the Timbren fits into the bump stop cup on your 2019 Chevy Silverado 2500HD.

  • Are Timbren Spacers Required for a Leveling Kit on a 2017 Ford F-350
Generally speaking, most leveling kits lift the front of the truck 1-2" to match the rear as the factory ride height on most pickup trucks nowadays is about 2" lower in the front than in the rear. This is usually to compensate for squatting while towing with a trailer. As long as the rear of the truck is not lifted then you will not need to use a spacer when installing the Timbren Suspension Enhancement System part # TFRTT350J on your 2017 Ford F-350. However, if the the leveling kit...

  • Rear Suspension Enhancement Recommendation for 2017 Ram 1500 that is Lifted
The Timbren kit part # TDR1500DQ that you referenced is a confirmed fit for your 2017 Ram 1500 and would be a great option to give you additional suspension support when you are carrying a lot of weight. Since you have a lifted truck though you will need spacers to take up the additional space created by the lift. For one inch spacers you'd want the part # A25723-90AH00 and for 1/2 inch spacers # TA25722-90P00.

  • Should Timbren Spacers or Off-Road Bumpstops be Used for a 2015 Toyota Tundra with 2-1/4" Lift
The Timbren Spacers, like the 1" # A25723-90AH00 or 1/2" # TA25722-90P00, are designed to be used with a Timbren suspension enhancement system so you will not want to use them with your factory bumpstops. I spoke with my contact at Timbren about using the Timbren Active Off-Road Bumpstops # TABSTOF with the 2-1/4" lift on your 2015 Toyota Tundra and my contact said that no spacers will be needed when installing these. The Off-Road Bumpstops are rated for 1,800 lbs, but keep in mind that...

  • Are There Extra Spacers for the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs
I do have an option for you but SuperSprings does not offer any additional spacers for the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs part # SS26MV. That said, we do still have spacers that will work for this, the Timbren Spacer part # A25723-90AH00 for 1" or part # TA25722-90P00. These won't be the exact same as the ones that came with this kit but they will still work well. In regards to the carriage bolts, you'll need to source this locally from a hardware store.

I have seen an additional spacer added to the SumoSprings Trailer Helper Springs # SS26MV. The kit does include four 1/2" spacers already for customizing your fit. If you need an additional 1" Spacer # A25723-90AH00 you would need to source longer bolts from a local hardware store.

It doesn't have to be perfect, but the greater the gap the longer it will take to engage. It is possible to add spacers to close the distance using the 1/2" # TA25722-90P00 and 1" # A25723-90AH00. Yes, it does. The Spacer Kit for Timbren Suspension item # T68MR will work with the Severe Service Timbren Suspension Enhancement System item # TFRTT350J. This system is confirmed to fit the 2023 Ford F-250. It already includes a pair of 1" spacers. When installed these spacers make the item # TFRTT350J system 7" tall. I have attached a diagram below.
