The SingleSpeed is a premium, tray-style bike rack that lets you carry 1 bike using your vehicle's hitch. This rack is specifically designed to make it easy to carry just about any bike, including those with wheels from 20" to 29", carbon frames, disc brakes, thru axles, or full suspensions. The locking SpeedKnob makes installation and removal of the rack a painless process.
The SingleSpeed is easy to load, even if your bike has monster wheels. The deep, contoured front wheel cradle accommodates just about any wheel out there, and the pivoting arm with StrongArm technology ensure that your bikes are held firmly in place.
To load a bike, simply place your front wheel in the holder, rotate the pivoting arm up and over the wheel, and press down firmly on the ratcheting hook. To release the hook, simply press the built-in gray button and slide the hook up and off your wheel.
A pivoting rear wheel holder allows the SingleSpeed to accommodate a wide variety of bike wheelbases. The wheel holder pivots front to back, adjusting automatically to your wheel size - no need for sliding and tightening. Secure the wheel in place with the ratcheting strap built into the holder.
The SpeedKnob makes the installation process fast and easy. Once you have the hitch pin in place, simply turn the knob to secure the rack within your hitch receiver. As you tighten the knob it activates the anti-rattle wedge within the rack's shank to reduce noise and movement of the rack while mounted. A built-in SKS lock keeps the rack anchored in place, so you won't need to fumble around with a hitch lock.
The included adapter sleeve lets you convert the rack's 1-1/4" shank for use in your 2" hitch. Just use the included allen wrench and bolt to secure the adapter to the shank, then proceed with attaching the rack to your vehicle.
The SingleSpeed has a cable lock built into the end of the pivoting arm. This cable loops through your bike frame and attaches to the post on the bike rack arm to secure your bike in place. The cable stores in the arm when not in use.

SpeedKnob provides tool-free installation.I was looking for a single bike solution for my FJ Cruiser, which has a full rear door with a door mounted spare. I looked at swing outs but ruled them out because of the weight and cost, and some would require a hitch extension to clear the spare. I was willing to compromise being only able to open the door with the bike unloaded, but with the carrier installed. Not certain this carrier would work, it seemed to have the dimensions required so I took a chance, figuring I could use it on the front hitch in a jam. It paid off. The rear door can be opened with the stock spare on the truck. The stock spare cover just touches the rack when opening the door. It opens in both the open and folded positions of the rack. The rack itself is high quality, nicely finished, and very rigid. No hitch extension was needed. If you lift on the rack when tightening the receiver knob, to relieve the weight, you can snug it right up without a lot of force. If you place a dab of grease on the lock cap, it snaps right on. Pictures are with the OEM rear hitch, and the Curt front hitch sold by etrailer.
Received my Yakima Single Speed Bike rack in the timeframe promised. Extremely easy install with no tools required. Just loaded up my road bike and took it for a test drive. Very sturdy and secure mount with little to no movement. Can’t wait to pick up the Fat Bike I ordered this week.

First impressions. Rack was pretty scratched up upon opening from box. Easy to install but some things are worrysome. First the plastic cap that is supposed to fit over hitch lock does not come close to fitting over lock. It is hard plastic and simply does not give enough to fit over lock. Second I have a 2 inch hitch and you have to tighten inside hitch completely and I mean really turn tightly which is a real pain as you are bent way over to reach knob to tighten. You must lock to make sure it doesn’t loosen as you drive. Third the back tire fits in a plastic tray. That tray has a plastic axle that is not the most robust for holding your rear tire long term. I will have to watch that for future. This goes on my truck and will only be on long enough to transport bike to trail parks. Frankly I would not personally leave this rack on long term as it simply is not robust enough to take much abuse. I think it is fine to put on transport to and from park but that is about all I would trust it. Is it worth the price versus other single carriers? Well that remains to be seen as far as I am concerned but forest impressions have me wondering is I mDe the right choice!! Etrailor was excellent as you would expect. They are one of very very few excellent sellers on the internet.
So far everything is as expected. Quality is excellent. Packaged correctly delivered on time. Online videos were a big plus for installation. Lots of nice detail. Also got the class one trailer hitch and installed on my daughters vehicle. Instructions provided in the box were somewhat vague but the online video explained everything much better. Nothing unexpected at all. Hitch fit perfectly and exactly as shown. The trailer hitch does require drilling and additional tools for installation. Need a little experience for that. Otherwise after the hitch was completed the bike rack slides right on or off as needed. No surprises. We tried several bikes and all fit great securely and safe very important when traveling. My daughter is going to college and needs a bike for the campus environment. This fits the ticket perfectly.
Great product. So happy to find something easy to install and nowhere near as heavy as most of what’s out there.
So far so good, only taken it to the trails a few times now but seems pretty solid and sturdy. Likes to wiggle around a little bit. Loading and unloading your bike in 30 seconds each time is great.
I like this Bike carrier. But the first try getting it into my 1.25 hitch it wouldn't fit in. I had to figure out that the wedge needed to be readjusted so it would release back far enough to fit in. The acorn nut was stopping the screw from unscrewing back far enough to release. Other than that, it's a good carrier.
I needed a rack that I could get on/off my car easily when riding solo. This rack is easy to install and my bike is very secure in it.
Pleased all around. Pre-purchase question answered quickly. Ordered on a Wednesday delivered the next Wednesday tp PA, I opted to just use the free delivery as I was not in a hurry. Packaged well.

I have a 55 pound electric assist bicycle. This rack makes it easy to load and unload my bicycle. The bicycle seems very stable in this rack.
Great rack. Easy to assemble and install. Even has a bottle opener built in for post-ride beers!
Haven't used it yet but it looks like it will do the job I need it to.
Upon receiving product, discovered the weight restriction of 40 lbs. my bike weighs 51 lbs. therefore the product is useless to me.
