Today we're going to take a look at this Weigh Safe 5/8" Diameter Stainless Steel Hitch Receiver Lock for 2", 2-1/2", and 3" Hitch Receivers.Now, you'd use this in place of your standard pin and clip on your hitch receiver. This lock would prevent somebody from taking your ball mount or your hitch accessory like a bike rack or cargo carrier. It is a nice stainless steel pin and lock construction. Does use a high strength ball interlock design to lock it.
And if you notice on the end here it has this nice cover to key slot with the rubber cap to prevent any rust and corrosion. You just put that over the lock, prevents any dirt from getting into the lock cylinder. It is a tube key lock cylinder, which will provide a lot better security than your standard key lock cylinder. The tube key cylinder will make it harder to pick, more difficult to duplicate keys.Does come with two keys with this, and again, it's a very easy to use design. Just requires a quarter of a turn of the key to unlock it and remove it, and to install it, just slide it right back on.
Turn it a quarter of a turn. Remove the key, put your cover on, it's locked into place.Application, this again is for 2" by 2", 2-1/2" by 2-1/2", and 3" by 3" hitch receiver. The pin diameter is 5/8". Overall length from one end to the other, if we put a ruler on that, you can see is going to be right at 6". The inner span or the inside span or what they call the usable length, which is the measurement in here, this is going to be right at about 3-1/2".
And what I'm going to do now is, let me zoom out just a little bit, I'm going to pull up a 2" by 2" hitch receiver. It has a ball mount in it, you can see right here, and it's using your standard pin and clip.So what you want to do is anybody could come along and just pull off your clip, pull out your pin, and then remove whatever you have in your hitch, either the ball mount or your hitch accessory. What you want to do with this is like we mentioned, take the cap off, put your key in there, turn it a quarter of a turn, unlock it, slide this through, all the way in. Put it on there, turn it a quarter of a turn to lock it. Then you can see it's locked in place.
Put your cover on there to protect it, and then nobody can just pull your ball mount or your accessory out. It's locked there unless you have the keys to remove it. And to remove it again, just put your . quarter of a turn removes it, and just like that, very simple installation.But that should do it for the review on the Weigh Safe 5/8" Diameter Stainless Steel Hitch Receiver Lock for the 2", 2-1/2", and 3" Hitch Receivers.

Not easy to find a pin for a 3” receiver. My 2017 Ford F-250 Super Duty has a 3” hitch mount. This pin works great with my B&W Tow and Stow three ball hitch. For the money I spent on that hitch I needed to be able to lock it to the truck. This pin is perfect. I did have to grease the pin to get it to fit into the holes but it did eventually go once I got them lined up.
Brian - 12/29/2018Ordered the Weigh Safe WS10-25 drop ball mount with the Weigh Safe receiver lock. The hitch looked like it was used. The Weigh Safe sticker had been removed and the unit was gouged on the shaft and ball mount. This may have been a return item that was shipped to me. I'm very disappointed. I expect a new product, not a used or poor quality second.
First time buying from etrailer. Most likely my last.
Appears to be well constructed and I like the round key as opposed to a conventional key as they tend to resist corrosion in the working parts better than their conventional bretheren. I use it on a 2 1/2" reciever and it fits satisfactorily.
Amazing customer service and shipping was fast. They also followed up with us to make sure we got our shipment and that we were happy with the product.... That is a thing of the past that I miss and etrailer seems to still hold up those values.. Highly recommended!!!
Lock failed and I had to have it cut off. Etrailer provided great customer service, but the manufacturer was a bit difficult to work with. They did replace it, but I am skeptical about using the replacement.
SEZ60089 - 10/18/2021This is a good quality pin but it is a little difficult to turn the key to lock the end on without pushing the pin partially out. I don't fully trust that it's locked so wind up pulling on the end. It has always been locked but I'm a little leery of the way it locks on, just some balls that move into and out of a detent. Pretty pricey for what it is. Since I will rarely leave my hitch on, I'll probably just use a conventional pin most of the time.
Wish my Weigh Safe hitch and pin were keyed alike also. Not sure how that could have been ordered but would do that in a do over.

Doesn’t seem to be many hitch locks out there for a 3” hitch, this one works very nicely. Would’ve been nice to have the option to have keyed alike (since I bought everything together) without buying all the extra parts I don’t need but we are a wasteful world these days.

So no surprises on the locking hitch pin I just received. I have several hitch pins and a couple of them with locks, but my new truck is the first I've owned with a 2.5inch hitch so I wanted to get a locking pin to secure my expensive WD hitch. This serves that purpose perfectly.
I had to take off the rubber o-ring in order for the lock to fit on. I have a 3 inch hitch on a 2021 F-350 Diesel.There is no room for play. It should be longer.

I received my hitch and locking pin in a timely manor. I have not used the hitch yet but seems to be very high quality and looks beautiful. I came packaged very well in two boxes. I would do business with the again.
This is a great hitch. It is very well made and should last a lifetime. The color and material are great. The hitch is heavy and made strong. The balls of the hitch fit my trailer tongue perfect. Need a hitch this is the one you should get. When you hook your trailer to it you see the weight of your trailer tongue right on the hitch.
Verdell - 08/22/2020Great receiver hitch lock. I particularly like the non traditional key because it doesn’t seem as if it can break inside the lock.
I bought Weigh Safe Hitch Pen to keep the hitch from being stolen. I only hook up trailers to haul mulch or dirt for my home property on limited occasions. The lock does well and easy to use. Eventually I will have one of those holes in the water to throw all your money in one day to pull behind my truck.

This will be a huge relief as I use a standard pin for my weigh safe 10" hitch
and take my hitch off after every use. Now I can leave on with this reliable keyed pin which will work really good.
Paul - 12/01/2019only issue is the ball bearings will stick when removing once off i lube it up and reinstall but every time i take off it sticks also the rubber key hole cap broke off and was lost
The hitch lock works great but the plastic/rubber cap broke and does not stay on to cover the key slot.
Works great with my hitch and keeps my trailer safe from theft
