Provider Radials

Provider radials are constructed with double polyester cords and double steel belts for increased durability and endurance. A protective layer of nylon is wrapped around the steel belts to help prevent tread separation. Provider radials are bake tested - a process usually reserved for automotive tires - to ensure that the rubber holds up over time.

Radial Tires vs. Bias Tires

Radial tire vs bias tire graphic

Radial ply tires are designed for trailers that are towed on the highway. The cords on a radial tire are positioned at a 90-degree angle to the direction of travel so that they lay across the width of the tire from wheel lip to wheel lip. This construction prevents the cords from rubbing against one another when the tire flexes, unlike the cords on a bias ply tire. As a result, radial tires have less rolling resistance and heat buildup, which leads to a longer tread life and improved steering at higher speeds.

I purchased these tires for our fifth wheel RV. We now have 1200 miles on the tires and I am very pleased in the way they handle the trailer and the road. I put the required amount of air stated on the RV which is less than the maximum rate on the tires. I also had the tires balanced when they were mounted on the wheel which I think helped give the trailer a smoother ride. The trailer came with Goodyear Endurance trailer tires in 2017 and with only 15,000 miles the tread wear was less than minimum for use. Needless to say we were very disappointed in the Goodyear tires. My wife and I like to travel and see this great country of ours so good equipment is a must have. I delayed this first review because I wanted to put some miles on the tires. I plan on reviewing again after we put 5,000 + miles. So far we are very satisfied. I do suggest that if you purchased a set of these tires, get them balance as well. It is customary not to balance trailer tires because they only "follow" the tow vehicle, but who knows?

Comments
Just recently did a cross country trip traveling through mountains and desert terrain. Tires did quite well and they show very little tire wear if any at all.

I ordered 5 of these 14 ply G rated tires for my 28' enclosed autohauler trailer because I had one of my current E rated tires go flat and another on the same side blow out on my last trip. This is the same problem I have had on my 43' Toyhauler where I have had 4 blowouts with extensive damage to the side of my rig. After much research and reading reviews I decided to go with G rated tires instead of the Es that came with my trailer and RV. These support much more weight per tire than the E tires. After researching eTrailer had the best prices, free and very fast shipping, and the reviews for this particular tire when I purchased 7 of them for my RV was 122 out of 122, 5 stars! These tires are flat on top and very heavy duty! Just the difference I can see with the weight and tread are far superior to any E rated rounded tread tire. I highly recommend that anyone purchasing an RV or heavy duty trailer either insist on G rated tires before purchase or change them ASAP after your pruchase. Read the reviews and trust my own experience when I say YOU WILL HAVE A BLOWOUT...it is a matter of time and it WILL NOT be a convienient time, and you WILL most likely encounter damage to your investment! The only thing I forgot to order this time with my 5 new G rated tires is metal valve stems. These tires require 110 psi rather than 80 psi so you MUST HAVE the metal valve stems. It was a pain for me to find them in my local area when I could have just pruchased them from eTrailer like I did the last time for my RV. I am a happy customer of eTrailer and highly recommend thier products...and no they are not paying me to say that! LOL.

I run these on trailer with 2 8K axles. The 4,400 pounds per tire , 81 MPH rated tires are perfect! I can run the 75 and 80 MPH Texas speed limits with a full load and have a margin of safety left. I tow around 30,000 miles a year and have zero complaints from these tires. They wear well, and I've never had a blow out, bulge, tread separation or any type of tire failure.

These tires are awesome, stiff sidewalls, massive bead area, high load range and speed rating!!! Stock 5ver tires not even close, takes some sweat to mount them.

As always Etrailer saved the day my 4 tires were even delivered a day earlier. Thank you guys so much and as soon as I get some time on the tires I will leave more feedback but I'm sure there 100% better than the Westlake China tires that I had.

Excellent tire that work well. I updated both the rims and tires from what a 7000 lbs axle should have to what a 8000 lbs axle would have. The trailer pulls 1000% better with the same load and feels more stable going down the road.

These tires are working very well for me. Still look great after a year with about 8000 miles on them. I bought these because I had issues with two other 10 ply expensive brands. I will purchase these tires again.

As for quality these tires they look and feel awesome. Heading out on a long trip next week with the Solitude 5th wheel so I will see how they do. The weight of the Provider tire alone is 8 pounds heavier than my existing tire/wheel combo. As for etrailer they have great service and quick shipping. Will do business with them again!

After 2 1/2 years of painful experience with a prominent brand of tires on our fifth wheel, torn up sides and skirts and having to change tires on Interstate Highways... If you have a 2012-2013 Keystone Montana or similar, you no doubt know which piece of garbage I am talking about. (Does Marathon ring any bell?) Having gone through 5 of 8 tires in 2 years, I bought 4 of these G rated Taskmaster Providers for our fifth wheel. In my case I had 6 inch wheels, so we also went to 6.5 inch wheels as specified by the tire specs. Had them balanced and there are now 5,000+ miles on them, performing flawlessly and tread looks like new. This is the solution, folks!

These tires have worked for me. They have a higher load rating than most and inflated properly wear well. The outstanding thing was etraile'rs shipping to Alaska in 3 days. I paid the ground shipping, 5-7 business days, which unfortunately adds $100. etrailer bumped it to expedited at no cost, got it out the same day (ordered that morning), and here in three days. That's as good as it gets. Thanks for making it easy.

These tires are brutes. My 5th whl rv weighs a little over 16k. Rides on 2 axles. In my opinion there really should have been 3 axles. Having said all that, I have refitted it with a new disk brake setup, oil bath wheel bearings and these tires. All from etrailer...thank you. These are the highest weight rated tires I have ever seen for this size. After a year (spring through fall) of use they are winners. When I stop for a break while traveling I usually shoot the tires and bearings with a temp gun. These tires are rated above the weight they carry and that’s saying something. My concern of blowing a tire on a hot summer day due to overloading are gone now. Couldn’t be more pleased!!

Good morning 10-24-2017 I was having second thoughts before buying these tires since I would go through trailer tires. I own a 14 foot PJ dump trailer that always loaded I own a concrete company in Ca. since I seen all the good reviews I bought them and ( REALLY ) put them to the test before I would give a review. I bought them end of april 2017, 6 months later of punishment on the tires I'am a firm believer these tires are 10 Stars. Highly Recommend Provider Tires. THANK YOU Yahweh Concrete.

- TTWPRG235R16
by:

Just got the tires mounted yesterday and was shocked as to how much weight it took to balance these tires. 2 took 15.5 ounces and 2 took 13 ounces. Almost a pound! I have had 37" monster murders that only took 5 ounces. It leads me to believe the quality control during manufacture is very marginal. I hope they stand up to the use they are needed for but am not optimistic. I am glad I had them balanced as they would have damaged the trailer with the vibration they would have induced. We will see how they perform.

Comments
Russell,Thank you for your review. Trailer tires do not have to be perfectly balanced like passenger car tires do because trailers do not have steering capabilities. Most people do not feel a difference in the ride between balanced or unbalanced tires. Our wheel and tire combos come from the manufacturer with the heavy side of the tire matched with the light side of a wheel to sort of balance them. Although, if you are purchasing a tire and having a shop put it on your own existing wheel then it would not hurt to ask the shop to balance them.

I purchased these tires after a series of blow outs on my 36’ fifth wheel trailer. There tires held up better than any tire I have used to date. These G rated tires give a confidence back to traveling. I will never compromise on tires again!

First of all, the customer service is incredible with this organization! Steve Z. was very helpful, and knowledgeable, making my buying decision easy. Shipping met my expectation, and I had the Provider ST 235/85R16 Load G trailer tires mounted on my 2005 Everest 293P yesterday with no issues at all. On the ride home, I felt more confident with theses tires than with the previous LT’s. Looking forward to our first trip!

- TTWPRG235R16
by:

The service is great. My tires arrived 5 days earlier than what was posted in the shipping information. The tires that I removed from my trailer were stock F rated and these new tires are G rated, you can tell the difference between the two tires, the G rated tires are heavy duty. We will see how the hold up to our next trip from Texas to Oregon.

These are going on my 14' PJ dump trailer as an upgrade. These are rated for much more weight and have an awesome tread I believe that will wear much better than the standard 235/80/16 with 10 PLY.. These guys were the cheapest around even local shops could not match the price.. Excited to get them installed and working.

I apologise for taking so long to write a review. Haven't had tires put on the 5th wheel yet. They seem to be really nice tires, but not to impressed that they are from China. I do however like all the reviews I've read on them and looking forward to having them mounted after my new axles are installed. Also impressed with the weight load of these tires. Have to give it just 3 stars for now. Will update review once I get on the road

Bought Provider to replace spare on my fifth wheel. I had a E rated spare and had had trouble with the E rated tires on the unit so replaced with G rated but had never replaced the spare since I only needed it to get off the road. Decided to replace it with another G rated tire. I was impressed with the Provider when it was delivered.

Troy, the service rep that I dealt with on my most recent order from etrailer.com, did a fantastic job helping me identify the exact parts I needed to replace the wheel bearings and brake assemblies on my 40 foot Big Horn 5th Wheel. I believe the prices were very reasonable and the service was faster than I expected. Thanks Troy, and I'll definitely recommend etrailer.com as a super place to get your trailer repair parts and accessories.

Tires are so clearly superior to anything available at local tire stores. These tires are so much heavier, thicker, etc. put 1200 hundred miles on them so far. Monitoring them with tireminder. So far they have been great. Not any old tire shop can mount these. Discount Tire was able to do so. Knowledge and service of etrailer rep was awesome. You can't get this service or product anywhere else in retail locations. So for a high quality trailer tire with fast delivery and great service then etrailer.com is the place.

  • What 16-Inch Special Trailer Tire Carries the Highest Load rating
The highest-rated 16-inch trailer tire we offer is the Load Range G Provider ST235/85R16 Radial Trailer Tire # TTWPRG235R16. This tire's maximum load capacity is a whopping 4080-lbs at 110-psi cold tire pressure when used in a single-tire application. Capacity drops to 3640-lbs if used in a dual-tire configuration. This radial carries an M speed rating of 81-mph maximum. It fits 16-inch rims with widths of 6, 6-1/2, 7 and 7-1/2-inches. Trailer tires should always be fully inflated to...

The tire size of 235/80-16 and 235/85-16 both fit the same size rims so yes you could technically fit either tire on your current rims. The best recommendation I would make is the part # TTWPRG235R16 which is a ST235/85R16 that has a capacity of 3,640 lbs at 110 psi and has a speed rating of 75 MPH. Most trailer tires are only rated at 65 MPH so that is one reason that could be causing your tires to fail. Aside from that under-inflation and exceeding weight capacities are what cause tires...

You currently are exceeding the speed rating of your tires in an already super hot climate. So your tires are getting way too hot and failing.
