Installed for preparation. Went well. Had one cable connect point turn “in” instead of “out”. Caused chain to not quite fit on tire. Corrected and finished. 15 minutes without the issue. 31’ class C Ford E450.

Good: Very easy installation. No tools required. The chain case have enough room for gloves & knee pads (I highly recommend) and screw drive & pliers (good to have, just in-case). Bad: The included instruction lacks information of tire sizes that can be used with this item.

I am less than helpful as far as a product review, as I’ve not yet used these. However, as a company, E-Trailer cannot be beat! I’ve ordered a few things from them, and now consider them my go-to place for car-related and trailer hitch- related things. This time I spoke with Geoff, who was very knowledgeable about tire chains in general and this one in particular. Im confident the product will work well.

My wife & I bought these for a wintertime trip to the Maritimes. We found them easy to apply to our front tires. Even though we didn’t get much use due to missing the first snow in Canada on the way back to the US, it is one of the questions you may be asked at the border crossing. Having these chains gave us peace of mind. I highly recommend them.

I was impressed by the great customer service! I have tried the chains on my 2017 Mazda CX5 and the chains appear to fit. My trip to snowy areas is in one week so I haven't tried the chains in the snow as yet, the only reason for my 4 stars instead of 5. I feel confident that they will work if needed. Thank you.

Review from a similar XB16 in Tire Chains

Fantastic customer service, constant follow up from etrailer.com. I need the product urgently and it arrived in a couple of days all the way to Canada! The product is very high quality and was easy to install. I have a cottage with a steep hill and when it’s full of ice it’s very tough to get up even with my 4x4 now I don’t have to put sand and salt down for 500 plus feet! Konig chains are a life saver. Thank you!

Review from a similar XB16 in Tire Chains

After having these for a full winter season, I can say that they were well worth the purchase. 4.5 stars. Traction was supreme, and ease of install and removal is everything they say - awesome! Removed a star only because the plastic clips that route the little tensioning chain were quickly broken, and the rubber end is marginal. However when installed on my 2wd truck, I pulled a small box trailer up and down a very icy and steep slope (dirt road at scout camp) - without a hint of wheelspin. Same area immediately before chain install had cars and 4wd trucks stuck on a gentle grade. These are not smooth at all on pavement, but a lifesaver when needed.

Review from a similar XB16 in Tire Chains

Product arrived quickly, and in great shape. Product did not include gloves, nor mat, but that's not a big deal. The plastic instructions are truly plastic, which is pretty nifty when considering installation in snow. Fit on my 2018 Grand Touring CX-5 seems fine - I have yet to use the chains in snow, but I fit them on my car in the garage per the video recommendations. Video installations may tell you that the yellow tab needs to face towards the front of the vehicle - I found this to be false/true depending on if you were on the passenger or driver side of the vehicle. I believe that correct installation has the chain approach the tire from left to right, independent of vehicle direction. That is, if on the driver side (USA vehicle), the chain will be wrapped around the tire with the yellow tab coming from the front of the vehicle. If installing on the passenger side, the chain wraps coming from the rear of the vehicle. This was to ensure that the non-hooked sides (smooth side) of the chains were facing the rims on both driver and passenger installations per the installation videos. One of the red plastic tabs required re-seating on the chain as it was inverted and would sit upside down when the chains were installed.

Review from a similar XB16 in Tire Chains

I live in LA and purchased this tire chain because I was going on a road trip to some national parks and mountains up in Vancouver. It's pretty easy to out on and remove. Worked perfectly for me. In snow, you can't drive more than 25 miles anyway. I also like the case that comes with it. I've only used it once and that's my experience.

  • Differences Between Konig XB16 and XG12 Snow Chains
One big difference between the XB16 chains like part # TH01571245 and XG12 chains like the # TH01594245 is the link size which is hinted at in the title of the chains. The XB16 requires 16 mm of clearance and the XG12 only requires 12 mm. They are similar styles of chains that use the same principals for install and tensioning but overall the XG12 is a bit easier. This is due to mainly the difference in the tensioning devices. The XG12 has a ratcheting setup on the tensioner which makes...

  • Will Tire Chains On Outside Tire of 2010 Ford E-350 Dually with 225/75-16 Tires Interfere With Inner
The correct Konig Standard Snow Tire Chains for a 225/75-16 tire is actually part # TH01571245. It will fit the outer tire without interfering with the inner tire. That said, both tires spin together so there wouldn't really be any way for them to rub. It should not make contact though. I also like the Titan Chain Alloy Snow Tire Chains part # TC2319 as a more cost effective alternate.
