The product worked fine. However, I just found out about wireless brake lights for tow car from a fellow camper. Had I known I would’ve gladly purchased that option over running wires and tapping into my vehicles wiring. Please share that product with all tow bar consumers. My wires work well but were a pain to install. Thanks for all of the great videos I needed to complete the install. I do recommend etrailer.com to everyone.

- RM-154
by:

When I open my rear taillight assembly, the existing wiring was much smaller than the wire supplied with the kit. I did not install that part of kit. I did use the front to back wiring and purchased to two medium size LED light to install in rear bumper.

I gave each and every one of the items I purchased a 5star rating because they each have contributed greatly to my confidence and sense of security about full-time RVing in my Class C rv towing my little car behind. Each product has been well made and thought out and the service from etrailer has been great....from price to shipping and packaging. I couldn't be more pleased with everything. Job well done. Thank you.

I recently installed the Roadmaster Diode Wiring Kit on my 2021 Jeep Wrangler. As an OCD electrical engineer, I’m particular about wiring, and wasn’t thrilled about the “through the chassis frame” approach in the etrailer.com videos. Instead, after downloading the reading the installations for the OEM’s wiring kit, I choose to install the wiring through the cabin with existing wiring. The OEM kit installs on the passenger side, but since I was also installing a Brake Buddy Stealth system and needed to run wires along the driver side, I choose to go that route. Since I was pulling interior trim pieces in the vicinity of the side air bags and the seat belt locking mechanisms, I first disconnected and isolated the neutral battery connections. Bottom line, everything works and I ended up with a very clean installation. I’m considering now connecting the third high brake light and the license plate light. A project for another day...

It works great. I use my CRV to be my tow vehicle for my RV and use it to tow my kayak trailer. This kit made the wiring job easy for both and after 1 year it’s been perfect

2017 Toyota Tacoma

Arrived promptly. Easy to install. Only issue is there was not enough wire to jump the tail light diodes. Had to supply my own. Installed in tandem with a brake light relay (RM-88400) that prevents the tail lights activating in tow mode when the Even Brake supplemental braking system depresses the brake pedal. Reduces the risk of draining the battery while being towed, as the lights run off the tow vehicle without interfering with the towed vehicles electronics. Far superior to the magnetic light set I have been using.

I installed this harness on our 2019 CR-V. Pretty simple install, just followed the instructions. Ran the harness inside the rear bumper and the plastic covers under the car all the way to the front so nothing is exposed. Plugs into the tow dolly harness so I have full function of tail and brake lights and turn signals on the car controlled from the motorhome.

Very easy to install on my 2020 Jeep JL Wrangler. I installed the rear tow wiring package at the same time and used 1/2" split conduit to run the wires from point to point. This is my second time installing this kit. I used it a couple of years ago on my 2019 Jeep Cherokee and haven't had any problems with it.

I would asbolutely buy this Roadmaster battery disconnect from etrailer.com again. I bought it in May of 2019 and had a mechanic install it. Due to a shortened travel schedule we only towed our jeep a few times and the switch failed. I called etrailer and they gave me the direct line to Roadmaster customer support who looked at a picture of the installed switch & solenoid and said it was broken because it had been wired incorrectly. They sent me a new switch, which I just installed myself. It was not difficult...and it works perfectly. Both etrailer and Roadmaster's customer support was superb. They were helpful every step of the way. I am a huge fan of both companies as a result of how they handled this transaction and follow-up.

I purchased the Roadmaster Crossbar-Style Base Plate Kit w/ Removable Arms, The Roadmaster Nighthawk Tow Bar, Quick Disconnect Crossbar, Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit, and Roadmaster Guardian Rock Guard in order to tow my 2020 Ford Raptor behind my Class A. Everything bolted on beautifully and the craftsmanship was fantastic. Ordering from etrailer was easy and the parts arrived within a few days with no problem. I watched numerous [online] videos to learn how to install everything and they saved me a lot of time. Overall, I'm very happy.

This isn't the first time I've installed a wiring harness and this one was a nice one (I thought). But I am having problems with the right light (both brake and running light). I've tried calling and talking to your customer support with no answer! I've found if I turn on my lights, at least the running lights all work (but not the brake light or turn signal). I'm thinking it's a grounding problem, but haven't been able to fix it so may have to try someone else's wiring harness.

Turned out to be the only solution due to room for a separate tail light using for flat towing. The diodes were an excellent choice so the existing bulbs could be used for both normal driving and flat towing.

This was a fairly easy kit to install. The video was quite helpful. The hardest part was crawling around on the ground to run the wire from the from to the back. If you have access to a life it would make it a LOT simpler.

Very good complete kit. Would be perfect if harness provided was five feet longer. And if wires on vehicle didn't have to be cut and spliced

  • Roadmaster Universal Hy-Power Diode Wiring Kit to 6 Pole Round Connector on 2016 Kia Soul
First off, thank you for your recent purchases! It looks like you're getting your 2016 Kia Soul ready for flat towing, which is a rather large undertaking, but we're here to help make that as easy as possible. I'll start off by saying that after looking at your orders, there is at least 1 part you'll probably need if you don't already have it-but I will get to that shortly.
