Note: This fifth-wheel trailer hitch will not fit trucks with beds shorter than 6'. It also will not fit trucks with flareside/stepside beds. A minimum 13" extender trailer pin box is recommended. If using a slider, hitch will not adjust to lowest height setting.

Fully Floating Head with Double Jaw

This fifth-wheel trailer hitch features a floating head that pivots four ways to provide a full range of motion for easy trailer hookup. The fifth wheel head assembly can be easily removed by one person - simply remove two pins and two clips.

The fifth-wheel head securely grabs your trailer's king pin with double jaws. The double-jaw design is unique in that it completely surrounds the king pin, ensuring a solid connection while reducing wear on the king pin and hitch. The double-jaw connection also minimizes play at the hitch connection point, creating a smoother ride.

The jaw is operated by an easy to grab, 1" diameter handle with a cushioned grip that makes jaw operation even more comfortable. The jaw handle includes an integrated tab that is lockable with included padlock. Using a padlock secures your trailer to the hitch. Fifth-wheel pull-pin lock plates (RP58093; sold separately) can be used to secure the hitch to the truck.

Pro Series Square Tube Slider profileTurning with and without Pro Series Slider

Square-Tube Slider

This fifth-wheel trailer hitch includes a square-tube slider that offers 10" of travel in your truck bed. This enables your vehicle to make normal turns during low-speed maneuvers and in narrow spaces without fear of your trailer's contacting the cab of your vehicle.

The slider increases the space between the cab and the trailer to allow for greater turning clearance, moving the hitch and trailer king pin 10" closer to the tailgate of your truck. For highway towing, the slider locks the fifth-wheel hitch in place between your truck cab and the rear axle.

To activate slider: Stop truck and trailer. From the side of the truck, unlock the hitch from the towing position by pulling the handle. From inside the cab of the truck, manually activate the trailer brakes with the brake controller and slowly pull the truck forward until the slider locks into place closer to the tailgate. Make sure that the slider is locked, then maneuver your rig.

Video Transcript for Pro Series 5th Wheel Trailer Hitch Review

Today we'll be reviewing the Pro Series fifth wheel trailer hitch with square tube slider. This is part number PS30121. The hitch has a floating head with double jaw for easy, secure trailer hook-up. Now our truck already has the base rails installed so we'll go ahead and drop our fifth wheel hitch into position and pin it into place. With the pins in we'll put the clips on the other side securing our hitch to the truck. Now you'll notice that the hitch is floating, will move forward and backward, as well as side-to-side.

The blue handle here is used to open up the double jaw. With it open we can now load our trailer. We'll then lock our kingpin into the hitch where we can then slide the lever over and using the lock included with the hitch lock the hitch to the trailer itself. The black handle here is used to move our fifth wheel trailer hitch slider forward and backward. We'll then pull the handle to lock it into the towing position.

That's it for our Pro Series fifth wheel trailer hitch with square tube sliders. This is part number PS30121.

Package arrived 3 days after order! Parts bag was split open but all parts were in the box. The jaw handle was wedged inside the hitch and hitch needed to be disassembled to remove it. Directions could have been clearer but I managed. Have not used yet but all seems okay. etrailer.com was very helpful. 608110

The product was received extremely fast, 3 days. The 5th wheel hitch came in two boxes. The hitch head was already attached to the top frame. However the rubber bumpers were not installed. Nearly impossible to install after the head is on but you could get it installed just a little better than finger tight. Also you really don't need the bumpers only for noise reduction. The hitch did come with new rail pins which was unexpected as I used my old rails. A lock was also included. This hitch 20k has a smaller foot print than my old 16 k reese hitch, but it fir perfectly on my old rails. Great Price, fast service, but the instructions were very generic. 450593

Installation instructions were spot on. It is a little heavy to move around, it would have been easier to install with a second person, but it can be done by one. I haven't had to use the slider function. My new fifth wheel has angled front corners that allows for 90 degree turns without sliding. But I got the slider just in case I hook onto something else. After a year, it still looks and works like new. I used it with the Reese factory puck system rail adapter (RP30154) and they work great together. 299675

It arrived yesterday morning, spent two hours doing inventory and study. I am in AZ so I had to do as much as possible before the temperature hit 105 degrees, at two pm I stopped until it got back down to 90 at about 7:00 pm. I then drilled holes until my batteries needed recharge. This morning at 5:30 I resumed and had the entire kit installed by ten a clock. It was a very easy kit to install, thank you. I look forward to my first tow in a couple of days. 263241

Of course boxes came damaged as stated in previous rating, but what item was big and heavy so the shipper (UPS) probably struggled with it. The actual part was undamaged. Instructions on putting it together was not very clear but manageable enough to figure it out without to much trouble. Minimal interaction with Etrailer but easy of ordering was great. 253510

  • Fifth Wheel Rail Kit Recommendation for 2017 Ford F-250 Short Bed for Pro Series Hitch
  • I'd recommend going with a custom install fifth wheel rail kit as it will minimize drilling and install time on your 2017 Ford F-250 short bed. For that the Reese kit part # RP50074-58 would be a great option confirmed as a fit. Reese is made by the same company as Pro Series so these two would work well together.

  • For your 2017 Ford F-250 4WD with 6-3/4-foot bed you will need a slider-type 5th wheel hitch like the Pro Series # PS30121 or the Curt # 16516 along with a base rail installation kit like # RP50074-58. A slider hitch will give you the clearance you need for making sharp turns. Between the two I suggest the Curt hitch since it offers more slider travel. This custom bracket system is meant to limit the drilling required during installation, which means less time spent under your truck drilling into the frame. With below-bed hitches, the installation equipment is installed beneath the truck bed, so the fifth wheel hitch simply drops into the pucks and locks in. Even though you can make a relatively tight turn now without sliding your hitch back a slider is still what I recommend.
