I attached it to my air compressor to warm the oil before I start it when it's cold. Works well. I plug it in about 1 hour before using the compressor.

I bought this pad heater for my air compressor that lives in the unheated side of my shop. I ruined two electric motors due to the oil in the compressor turning to molasses during the winter where it gets well below zero. So far so good. :)
The adhesive is solid, not peeling and the pad keeps my compressor nice and toasty. Before when I was away traveling I would forget to open the breaker for the compressor and come home to a ruined motor. That problem is history.
I highly recomend this heater, very small but very effective for oil pans of all types needing to be kept warm in freezing condition.

This is the second Kats engine heater I have purchased and both are good quality and durable. This is also the second purchase I have made at eTrailer.com and I am totally satisfied with the cost, the no charge shipping, fast delivery and great follow up to make sure my order was correct and was delivered. I will definitely order from eTraler.com again should I need a component or a part.

I installed this on a DEF tank in my diesel to keep it from freezing when I’m parked overnight in sub zero temps. I ran the cord along the frame rail as far as it would reach then attached an extension cord and routed that to come out in the same area as my block heater plug. Be sure to clean the surface of whatever you’re attaching the pad to in order to get good adhesion.

Works awesome! This is the second one, the first burned out after two years. We use them on 4 wheelers in the winter, on timers for 2 hrs twice a day. Put on lower crank case to warm oil...starts much easier. This one still working well after 1 year.

Still working fine

Review from a similar Oil Pan Pad in Oil Pan Heater

Installation was a snap as my generator was still hot from running. Peeled off the liner to expose the adhesive and stuck it squarely and securely on the underside of the oil pan. My review is only 4 stars because I haven't yet put the product to the test, but when that happens I will revisit and revise my review. Otherwise the heater arrived quickly and was as described.

Comments
The blockoil pan heater is used sporadically to heat the oil in our house generator when necessary. We are satisfied with the function of both products thus far. Thanks for reaching out.

I own and operate a tree service in MI, needless to say the winter months are hard on our equipment. I had searched for quit some time before I found this product, it was a very easy installation and makes a world of difference, I would highly recommend this to anyone who works in the cold weather. Thank you Kats !!!

Great Product! Volkswagen Jetta TDI makes no electrical heaters. There is NO frost plug on the engine either! Installed the KAT and life is good! Starts every time.

The pan heater is going strong. The 2003 VW TDI does not offer any solutions to warming up the engine so I chose to do the pan heater over cutting into the cooling system. I would do it again!

Review from a similar Oil Pan Pad in Oil Pan Heater

So far so good. Bought 3 for our diesels. Be sure to clean the oil pan for any dust, grime or grease. We even lightly sanded the oil pan to ensure good adhesion then used high temp RTV silicone around the edges.

Comments
Absolutely zero problems. Continues to work great!!

Review from a similar Oil Pan Pad in Oil Pan Heater

Used it to keep oil warm on my GENERAC generator for easier starting during winter months but the electrical connections on the heater were so poor that they were arcing and sparking like July 4th fireworks!! So I ripped it off, too unsafe.

Review from a similar Oil Pan Pad in Oil Pan Heater

Installed this heater on the transmission of my Ford Escape. Works perfectly. Now the truck will shift into gear in cold weather. (I know I need a new transmission but the truck is not worth it) but this heater has bought me an extra year out of my truck. Thanks etrailer.

  • How Hot Does the Kat's Heaters Oil Pan Heating Pad # KH24050 Get
The element of the Kat's Heaters Oil Pan Heating Pad # KH24050 gets surprisingly hot. Kat's says it will get between 300 and 400 degrees.

  • Is Kat's Heaters Self-Regulating When Plugged In?
The Kat's Heaters Oil or Transmission Pan Heating Pad # KH24050 are not self-regulating. They can get to between 300 and 400 degrees, though the outside temperature is obviously going to have some impact on that number. The pad is 5" x 2" and plugs into a 120 volt outlet.

  • How Long Does it Take for Kat's Heaters Oil or Transmission Pan Heating Pad to Heat Up
There isn't a specific amount of time it takes the Kat's Heaters Oil or Transmission Pan Heating Pad # KH24050 to heat up in certain temperatures, because there are other variables at play as well which affect it, such as wind. That said, this pad is designed for use in very cold temperatures so if it is 30 degrees outside it won't take as long to heat up as temperatures which are colder, but if it's outside in the wind it will take longer. A realistic expectation should be somewhere in...

  • Will the Kat's Heating Pad Allow Me To Start My Generator in Cold Weather
The Kat's Heaters Oil or Transmission Pan Heating Pad part # KH24050 should get you above the threshold for the auto-choke to operate on your generator in colder weather, within reason. We actually sell quite a bit of these for this very same purpose. The other option that people will take is to bypass the auto choke cutoff but this could cause serious damage to your generator so you made the right choice with the Kat's Heaters Oil or Transmission Pan Heating Pad. In addition to allowing...

  • Magnetic Heater for the Oil Pan on a Log Splitter Motor
The Kat's Heaters Oil Pan Heating Pad # KH24050 attaches to the oil pan with 3M tape. I have included a picture that shows the back of the heater where it attaches to the oil pan. If you want something that is magnetic I recommend # KH1155 which does have a magnetic base. This magnetic heater puts out 300 to 400 degrees and was specifically designed for small engines like the one on your log splitter. At 1/4 inch thick, it won't be instantly warm but at 300 to 400 degrees it would not...

  • Is there a Block Heater for a Kioti CK20 Tractor with a Daedong 3 cylinder 0.9 Liter Diesel Motor
Your tractor uses a Daedong 0.9 liter motor. I checked with Kat's haters and they do not offer a custom fit heater for any of the Daedong motors. But we do over oil/transmission pan pad heaters such as # KH24050 and others. I have included a link to them for you.

  • Recommended Engine Oil Heater for Grasshopper Mower with 36HP Engine
We offer several types of heaters you can use on your Grasshopper mower's 36hp engine. The pad type heaters like # KH24050 that attach to your oil (or transmission fluid) pan with 3M tape are one option, but for convenience I recommend a dipstick type engine oil heater # KH15200 which simply slips into the engine's dipstick receptacle. Unlike the pad heaters that require you to stow the cord after the unit is installed, the dipstick heater comes out completely when not in use and for me...

  • Can I Use a Heating Pad on my HydraStar Actuator to Keep Brake Fluid From Thickening?
Yes. You can use a stick on heating pad like the Kat's # KH24050 to keep the HydraStar Vented Marine Electric Over Hydraulic Actuator # HS381-8067 warmed up and it's not going to damage the system. With that being said, when your brake fluid becomes more viscous like you're describing, it leads me to believe that there is something else going on that is allowing too much water/condensation into your brake lines. It's possible that too much air got into the system at some point and is creating...
