The only thing you can really do is replace the safety pin that secures the T-handle with a lock. This would prevent anyone from lifting the handle which is required to remove the adapter. I just spoke to my contact at Gen-Y and they informed me that yes, the Gen-Y Hitch Gooseneck Trailer Hitch # GY73XR can be mounted to move the ball closer to the cab. As long as your OEM puck system has all 5 holes, and the distance from the rear two holes to the center hole is the same as the distance from the front two holes to the center hole. Basically, they said as long as it fits into the pucks, you can use it whichever way you want.
