2015 Ford Flex

Great well made quality product. I installed it myself on my 2015 Infiniti QX50 about 5 times!! The holes did not line up perfectly and it was discouraging. I emailed eTrailer with pictures and was informed that every hitch has a flex in it which can be adjusted using 1 of several flex methods. The also gave me the option of a replacement which I took them up on. Unfortunately, I had the same issue with the holes not lining up by at least a ¼ inch. I called them for the flex methods which they emailed to me and I was able to use the jack method to stretch it. This was also a difficult process as it takes a lot of pressure. A jack and a 4x4 do not easily want to stay in position….it’s awkward and not like jacking up a car. I actually drilled a hole in the bottom of the 4x4 which I placed over the exhaust mount to keep it from slipping on one end. I actually totally bent my scissor car jack and I had to buy a larger more durable one to complete the task. When I extended it about an inch it would go right back to the original position. I had to apply enough force to flex about 1 and ¾ inches and when released I seemed to have my ¼ inch that I was looking for. After multiple trials of getting it back in place and bringing it back down, everything finally lined up.

eTrailer is great to work with and they are very accommodating. I highly recommend them. It was just a challenge to flex it and take it on and off so many times. My first attempt took me about 3-4 hours and a good deal of that time was trying to get the holes to line up. Dropping the exhaust is really simple but trying to get the hitch into place is challenging by yourself. This is where a second set of hands had would help a lot. By the 3rd time, I was pretty good at knowing how to maneuver it into the correct position. Although the total time for me was about 10 hours, I’m pretty sure I could do the whole thing again myself in 2 hours or less assuming everything lines up.

My biggest recommendation to anyone installing this is that if the holes don’t line up when you put it up, don’t waste any more time. Immediately take it down and try one of the flex methods until the holes line up.

2013 Infiniti EX37

This was a well-made product. Fit and finish were very good. I installed it myself on an InfinitiEX37 2013. I did the install using a set of ramps and a creeper. The total install time was about four hours. The clearances for this hitch are very tight on this model. However final if it was very good and the bolt holes lined up so that all bolts could be started by hand. I read a prior review about the bolt holes not matching up but that was not the case for me. The hardest part of the install being the hitchinsertion, because there is a very narrow path of insertion due to the tight clearances. Again remembering I did this by myself lying on the garage floor. If you have access to a lift and a second pair of hands I believe the installation could easily be done in a couple of hours. The intended use for my hitch is for a bicycle rack and for this purpose it works perfectly. It is very low profile and tucks under the body panel very nicely with no ground clearance issues. I would recommend this prpduct.

This is a great little trailer hitch if you want to tow a little trailer. I recently bought a harbor freight 4x48 and I can't wait to put more pictures up the price is great and the customer service is excellent thanks guys keep up the good service!

2002 Ford F-350, 450, and 550 Cab and Chassis

The hitch fit as advertised. Easy install. Instructions and videos from etrailer were great. I use this hitch primarily for my Thule platform bicycle carrier. It works great!

After a year of use, the hitch works well. The hitch is used on my Infiniti EX-35 to carry a Thule platform bike rack. Its very stable, Im pleased with it.

by:

It was a pretty difficult job to get the receiver into proper position and then line up all of the bolt holes but it is doable with persistence. It is a difficulty level of 7 of 10. The video was helpful to know the steps but actual placement is tough.

by:

Is a total pain to install. You’re going to need multiple jacks to install this. More people doesn’t really help because the car is so low when you drop the muffler it’s basically on top of you and now you’re trying to lift the hitch up then the muffler and bolt everything back up. After much frustration I got it installed in a little over in hour. It holds the bike carrier pretty well.

If possible, backing the vehicle up onto ramps is really the way to go here. Its also important that the front wheels are chocked while the vehicle is up on ramps. Once this is done, there is plenty of access.

2010 Infiniti EX35

I have ordered hitches from etrailer before. Like the others, this one is well-made and seems very robust. I saw a lot of reviews commenting on lengthy install times. I watched the online video, and cannot emphasize enough how helpful it is to understand the installation. I got mine done in about 90 minutes. Not too bad at all, and I had no problems with hole alignment.

Its been a year now, I have pulled a couple of ATVs about 2500 miles with no issues. I checked the screws at the end of the season and all were still right. The hitch is working well for me.

2017 Infiniti QX50

I started out looking for a hitch for my new 2017 QX50, and this is the only option I can find. However, despite it being the only option it is definitely a wonderfully built hitch that is made in America. It bolted right up to my existing mounting holes & welded bolts with a little "convincing" with a rubber mallet. The job is done easiest by fully dropping the muffler. I understand why an earlier reviewer said he had to drill out the holes, however I bet if he did a little more fitting, drilling would not have had to be done. This hitch even cleared my aftermarket top speed pro-1 axle back exhaust system I added. I was worried it would not clear however, it all fit wonderfully!!! the hitch pokes out just below the bottom of the bumper, and only displays what is necessary for trailer hook up. I will say that the clearance for the hitch pin is very small. I could not get the stock pin and clip to work, so an aftermarket flush mount locking pin will have to do. All in all, the hitch took about an hour and a half to install, by myself, and with all the proper tools. Would def recommend.

by:

Hitch does what is advertised. Installation was a bit tricky due to the exhaust system but after that, all parts fit easily. A great (and maybe only) choice for QX-50 owners.

Has worked out fine. Major take away is to use the strap. I’ve used the hitch without a strap once or twice and have experienced excessive swinging. The strap eliminates the problem.

by:

etrailer delivered product fast but trailer hitch would not fit 2015 QX50 without cutting out some of the medal on bracket and opening up the holes. Not the first one my guy installed and will not be the last.Don’t blame etrailer they are a great company.

by:

Good fast services. Not as easy install as thought bit overall good clean tucked away product .

2016 Infiniti QX50

Ive used etrailer in the past with no issues. This item was running late due to the shipping carrier. I purchased 2 day shipping and it was late. Etrailer customer service was wonderful and refunded me the shipping cost. I unboxed my new hitch and read the instructions, very simple for me (mechanic). Boy was I wrong. After struggling for over and hour to get this thing in place O found I had to remove the evap canister as its bracket was just enough in the way to keep me from lining up the passenger side. Loosley bokted the passenger side to find the driver side holes were 5/16" off. Had to pull the hole thing down, modify the holes, repaint the holes amd finally get it mount back up. This was such a pain!

Infiniti EX35

etrailer did a great job on ordering and delivery. However, the Curt hitch didn't fit my Infiniti EX35 as advertised. I had to drill out the holes to bolt to my car. Several hours of hard work drilling the "no drill" hitch.

Keith G.

3/2/2014

Was the hole misalignment sited in this review an anomaly or has etrailer addressed and corrected the problem?

Patrick B.

3/3/2014

As far as we know, this was just an anomoly with either that particular hitch or that particular EX35. Curt, the manufacturer, has not issued any bulletins about this hitch either. If you have one of these hitches and are having difficulty installing, feel free to give us a call at 1-800-298-8924.

by:

I was lucky I had no rust and all parts that needed to be removed and they came out quickly. The install video is a great help. Very good tips. I wrestled with it a bit as it was only me. I was challenged with connecting the rubber muffler mounts once inverted and muscling the muffler back and forth.. I accidently flipped one back and didn't notice on install and installed it wrong.. corrected that and was good to go. The holes on the hitch did not line up just right but I was able to make that work. I wish i had read how to flex it into place with a hydraulic jack.. oh well. Good looking, quality product. Looks very good and low key when installed. I'm just an ok mechanic.. i would set aside an hour and a half - two hours, clean up include. Got it to run my Thule 4 bike rack but have not it fit that yet as I am waiting for a 7" extender so it will clear the door without having to fold the rack down. I will also be getting an ATV/UTV 1 1/4" to 2" hitch riser (8"), 100lb capacity (not sold here) for a cargo carrier rack to rise above the exhaust so I can run a cooler and maybe some firewood in the summer for car camping. Makes a handy table for parking lot parties as well. Great product.. thanks etrailer.com!

by:

Was installed on Infinity QX50 2016 at the local shop, took over 1.5 hours. There was not an exact fit on the passenger side. Mechanics had to remove the box on the right side, and cut off ~1/4" from the box fixing plate, that didn't allow to match holes. After that all holes matched, and there was no drilling required.

2011 Infiniti EX35

I installed this hitch on my 2011 Infiniti EX35 in a little over a couple hours. The etrailer video was very helpful and accurate. It sure made the job much easier than just using the instructions from Curt. I am using this hitch for a Kuat platform bike rack and it does the trick! Thanks for everyone's help at etrailer!

Pontiac Trans Sport Van

I bought this a little over a year ago for my daughter who was going off to college and needed a way to attach a bike rack to her mini SUV so that she could transport her bike cruiser bike anywhere. I was a little skeptical at first about how sturdy this would be and if it would even work. I'm glad I made the purchase because this thing works great. Its held up well after all this time. She frequently uses it to transport her bike and hook it up to small trailers. We're both happy with the purchase.

An exceptional job of packing my shipment. I couldn't have packed it any better myself. Have not installed the hitch yet, but all parts look to be of exceptional quality. The fact that installation instructions are included with this correspondance is also exceptional. Can't wait to get this on my EX 35 and see how well it does.

by:

Etrailer helped me find the correct hitch for my car. It arrived as stated. Packaged nicely and the price was right. Great customer service.

by:

Great Quality product. Shipped very quickly and was well packed and in great condition when received. I haven't installed the trailer Hitch yet but I can say that eTrailer has been excellent at communicating with me and making sure that I understood the current status of my order straight through to front door delivery. Best part of it was the shipping was free. Now that is a great deal.

I would recommend eTrailer to anyone needing an aftermarket trailer part.

This is the third or fourth hitch receiver, which two of them were for Subaru WRX Wagons, I’ve ordered from eTrailer. It’s still working great, and I will order another unit from them for my next car.

  • How Does the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch # 11510 Install on a 2012 Infiniti EX35
I have attached a link to the installation instructions for the Curt Class I Trailer Hitch, # 11510, for your 2012 Infiniti EX35 on this answer page for you to check out. The installation process for this hitch does not require any welding or drilling, but you will have to lower the exhaust to install the hitch. If you failed to invert these rubber isolators, then it is possible that you vehicle's exhaust pipes might very well hang lower than they originally were mounted. Maybe as much as an 1-1/2 inch lower. I would double check or even invert theses hangers then reinstall the exhaust to see if this...
