Perfect for light-duty towing, this custom, vehicle trailer hitch receiver features fully welded, gloss powder coated steel construction. Drawbar sold separately.I had never taken under body panels off. The videos on etrailer make this process extremely easy. I bought the trailer wiring harness and installed it at same time as the hitch. Took about 2.5 hours for everything and didn’t have to lift my car. I plan to tow a small harbor freight utility trailer for lumber and remodeling parts. I stood on the tongue, and at about 200 pounds myself, it felt very strong.
Perfect fit and the instruction video was excellent. I’ve always purchased from etrailer.com and never been disappointed on products and services. I do recommend leveling the hitch before final torque. Thanks again for helping me with my towing life!!!
Looks good. Hardly visible under the bumper. The instructions were well written but the adjoining images were impossible to work with, too dark and lacking detail. Bolting on the hitch to the frame was far more difficult than it should have been and I had to resort to using guided threaded bolts to align hitch frame with vehicle frame. The instructions about the pin inserts were lacking crucial information.

Roger - 06/19/2022I have a 2022 Prius Prime and decided to purchase and install myself, took a total of about two hours was pretty easy and straight forward. It came with nuts and bolts but decided to use my own since mine seemed to be a little better than the ones provided. After snapping my bumper back in place my bumper fits a little out but my bike rake covers that! Great product
The hitch receiver (bought to take a bike rack) is very good, and cost less to buy than I anticipated. Kudos to etrailer. However, given how easy the video showed the installation to be, I wish I had been able to find someone to install it for less than the $210 I paid. I also realize that my Prius being designed for mileage means the frame is not strong enough for a 2" receiver which can handle more than 2 bikes.

Installed on our 2016 Toyota Prius in about 90 minutes. Read the instructions, watch the install video and grab an extra set of hands and you'll have it installed in no time!
We are using it with a two-bike mount Yakima Holdup and a 4" - 2" to 1 1/4" adapter riser (We currently have a 2" hitch on our RAV4, so we can swap the rack between cars). Sways a little bit, but some black duck tape around the 1 1/4 inch adapter eliminate most sway.
I used my hitch for a bike rack, just got back from a cross country to-and-from trip, and the hitch/rack combo worked like a dream! Had zero issues, and was very happy with customer service! Strongly recommend!
Excellent service again on the hitch for my 2018 Prius IV Touring. The videos and documentation were very helpful. It did take two of us to do the install and for amateurs there is a learning curve (how the clips come out, etc.) but we completed the install in an hour and a half. It is solid and looks like it came installed from the factory. I am very pleased with the product, my third from this company.

On the installation, it took some time but it was nice to have a second person to help me. Specially someone who has power tools. The video really helps make things go faster and not make any mistakes.
I am using it to install a bike rack since I don't want to place it on top of my car.

Ernest - 08/23/2022Excellent product, delivery, and design! As advertised it was a challenge to install, but well worth the effort. Being full time RV'ers we tow our Prius on a dolly and need to move the dolly occasionally. This dolly is too heavy to move very far by hand. I think this hitch will serve us well.
The hitch fit perfectly on my 2019 Prius! The installation video on your website was spot on! I will say it’s definitely a two person install to make one’s life easier…
The bike rack also was a great fit for my MTB and for my two beach cruisers! It doesn’t rattle even on long trips or bumps!! Very sturdy and I like how compact it is.
After watching the video, the undercarriage plastic was easy to remove. The hitch fit well behind the bumper. All plastic was returned to it's locked place.

I am pleased with the final look of the hitch on the car. The steps to get there were simple. Ordering was easy, shipping was free and arrived on time. After watching the video on installation, I realized that it would be a lot easier on a lift than lying on the ground with a roller board. I had the local Toyota dealer mount it. He raved about how perfect the fit was and said it was the best designed hitch for a Prius that he had ever worked with.

I got a local garage to install it after seeing from the video how involved the process is for a Prius Prime. The garage confirms that it went just fine, but is not simple.
On the usage side, good news and bad.
Good: The hitch sits well back of the bumper's outer edge so is not very visible to passersby. for someone concerned about marring the car's looks this would be a big plus.
Bad: Being well back, it is more difficult to mount my bicycle rack to this receiver than it was on my previous one, which was also on a Prius. If you have a place to park such as the edge of a wall or pit while mounting to the receiver, no problem. For me the rack is kept at the back of my garage with rather poor lighting and a level floor. I think next time I'll use a dolly to get under there.
This hitch went in exactly as the directions claimed. I have been using it all summer with my bick rack and works great. It is viually tight to the bumper and virtually not noticable when not in use.
Customer service agent was excellent, he was very friendly and went out if his way to make sure I received the correct hitch for my vehicle. The installation video on their website was also excellent, it made a fairly difficult install go smoothly. Thank you for a wonderful online experience.
I tried installing this myself, but I don't have a socket wrench and so I ended up hiring some professional help to install. For the cutouts to the plastic baffles, I sealed them with Gorilla tape for extra protection. I used a CZC AUTO Expandable Hitch Cargo Carrier Bag which fit perfectly in the rack. The whole system performed flawlessly on my 5000 mile cross-country trip. The attached picture shows the rack and bag on the tail end of my Prius with the Habitent I used for camping.
Hitch attached without issue as per ins tructions.

Great product. However, I would not recommend trying to install alone nor an inexperienced dyi’er. It’s a very difficult installation.
Works great, but was very challenging to install! (I did it myself, but would recommend having someone else go through the trouble instead.) I'm using on a 2019 Prius AWD-e. I purchased for use with a Kuat sheep 2.0 and toting around mountain bikes. The whole package works well for my needs and looks fantastic--hard to tell its there when nothing is attached, it sits perfectly flush the the under-bumper. Just finished the first winter and there is only a small amount of rust from road salt.
Very dependable product. Provides an easy way to add a bike rack to a Prius.
