Today we're going to be taking a look at part number BWHB94004. This is the B and W 2-5/16" Hitch Ball. The hitch ball's going to provide a good connection point for your trailer's coupler. It's got the fine threads. It's going to provide a nice, tight, strong grip. It's actually going to have 12 threads per inch.
The unit's made from a heat-treated steel. It's very strong and very durable. It's got the raw steel finish to it. You're going to get the 2 and 5/16 inch hitch ball. You're going to get your lock washer as well as your nut.
The product's made right here in the USA. The ball diameter on the unit's going to measure 2-5/16 of an inch. If we take a measurement of the shank length from the bottom of the platform to the end of the threads we're looking at about 2 and 1/2 inches. Just the threaded portion is going to measure about 1 and 3/4 of an inch, and then the shank diameter is going to give us a measurement of 1 inch and 1/4. The weight capacity on the hitch ball is going to be 30,000 pounds. When installing this, you'd place it through the ball hole on the ball mount, lock washer goes underneath, followed by the nut.
That just threads right on there, and then you would need to torque it down to the specifications listed by the manufacturer. That's going to do it for our review of part number BWHB94004.

Exceptional quality and paired nicely with the BW hitch mount.
Wanted a "Made in USA" product. This was overkill for our needs, but it will last forever. Can develop minor surface rust, but not enough to be a nuisance.
The ball rusts at the surface. I took some emory cloth to it, cleaned it up, and sprayed clear coat on it to inhibit rust. Each time you tow, that clear wears off, so shoot it again after each tow if you don't tow frequently.

This is a very well made tow ball. Fit and finish is nice - oxide finish, no paint or plating, which is fine by me. I like that it is of domestic origin.
Order was processed by eTrailer quickly. It took over 5 days to arrive (I paid for 3-5 day shipping), but I suspect that was UPS / holiday shipping issue.
Best quality hitch ball I've ever seen.
So far, so good. Just make sure you get yourself a REAL big socket - the nut on this thing is GIGANTIC. My 15" adjustable wrench wouldn't even open far enough. I used a monkey wrench (adjustable plumber's wrench) with a 4' cheater bar on it to tighten. I work on small engines, not diesels, so nothing I had was big enough. Just FYI ...

I wish it didn't completely rust over within a month, but that's just what happens. Doesn't look good but no other issues.
Built like a tank, it looks like its milled from one single piece of metal. Really fine smooth threads like I haven't had before on a hitch. High quality.
