Thoroughly Tested for Safety

This hub-and-drum assembly meets the requirements for certification by the Canadian Standards Association (CSA). The CSA creates standards, which when complied with ensure a safe and quality product. This assembly underwent extensive testing to measure stopping distances when braking. This assembly has also been tested by QAI for braking performance in a complete automotive setup and under real-world conditions to provide the most realistic scenario for the everyday driver.

E-Z Lube and Easy Grease-Compatible Assembly for Simple Lubrication

The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube or etrailer Easy Grease axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.

Determining the Bolt Pattern

The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.

Bolt Pattern - Even

On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: 8 on 6-1/2 means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)

Bolt Pattern - Odd

To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: 5 on 4-1/2 means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)

Bolt Pattern - Side

Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

  • If D = 2-5/8", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-1/2"
  • If D = 2-3/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 4-3/4"
  • If D = 3", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5"
  • If D = 3-1/4", then the bolt pattern is 5 on 5-1/2"

Easily installed... Pre-greased bearing... Should have come with new axel nut, cotter key and bearing washer, but didn't.. Used old ones...

Comments
Thank you for reaching out. I have sent this to our customer service team and they will be in touch about the missing pieces.

Love how seals already pack in for you just slide on put bolt castle on and Cotter pin in. Make sure only hand tighten castle nut only. I wish they would sent new Cotter pins and castle nuts with new assembly. Only down fall so beware when buying make sure have new ones to insert. Don't use old pins as you bend them they do weaken so put new Cotter pins in. Rated 4 star due to they could sent castle nut and Cotter pin with new install

Comments
When it comes to hub and drum assemblies, we do not sell them with cotter pins and castle nuts since, often times people just reuse what they already have. I agree that the cotter pin can weaken over multiple times of bending it back into place. For that reason, we do offer cotter pins part # 3371302250
Replacement Cotter Pin for Western Snow Plow - 1-1/2" Long
$2.06
and castle nuts part # 165686
Trailer Spindle Nut 1"
$2.48

Awesome delivery time and customer service every time I made an order. The trailer brakes and actuator and lines, as well as the drums are great replacement parts for my 94 Skeeter trailer.
I added the old and new replacement pictures. Definitely worth the time I spent doing it myself, really easy and a lot cheaper than a shop repair bill.
Everyone at Etrailer confirmed the parts making sure I was getting the right replacement parts. If you’re unsure, don’t hesitate to talk with customer service, they will walk you through it….. THANK YOU

by:

Not completely sure if it is the brake assemblies or the drums but the combination of this and dexter brakes was a waste . Do not buy . They work enough to stop spinning the wheel on a jack but that's it.

Comments
I will have our customer service team reach out to you. I do have a solution to offer in that I recommend breaking in the brakes. The break-in process applies to both manual adjusting and self-adjusting electric brakes. Its necessary to do this step when you install new brakes because it allows the brake shoes and magnet to seat into the drum. We have a FAQ about adjusting the brakes that covers breaking in the brakes very well.

This is my second order. I ordered for the rear axle first. The parts looked good. So ordered for the other axle. The seals are robust and double seal design. But the bearing are China bearings. Would have liked to seen timkin or the like but are serviceable. The break kit fit well and looks good. We will see how they do on my 2500 mile round trip thru the mountains with a small truck loaded on it. The operators both times were very friendly and knowledgeable about their products. Keep up the good work and I'll keep buying!

Comments
Put about 3000 miles with zero issues. They performed better than expected. I have ordered several items since then and the operators are all knowledgeable and all ways willing to do what they can to ensure a proper order and that Im satisfied with my order

Peyton at etrailer did an excellent job in handling my order. She was very professional and courteous and the backing plate w/brake assembly and hub got to me very quickly.Everything arrived in good packaging undamaged. Thanks etrailer !

by:

Good value and quality. The hub assembly came without dust cap and lug nuts, but your service dept. corrected it quickly, which was much appreciated.

by:

The easy grease trailer hub and drum was a perfect fit! Couldn't be happier. Well done e-trailer.

by:

I'm a retired engineer and as such, I know I will have to run this drum for 30,000 miles to truly know its quality. I can say that the product looked like it was well-made with no obvious flaws. The fit was good. Installation was simple. Combined with new brakes, I don't expect to have to replace it.

by:

Casting is rough and it rubs the brake mounting plate. They'll work with a little filing. Price was good and showed up a day early. I've purchased many items from etrailer and highly recommended them.

by:

I ordered the hub and idler set, my trailer came with 15x5 hubs and I ordered 15x4.5 rims. Since they wouldn't return my rims I ordered the correct hubs from etrailer. Got my box only had one seal slightly damaged. Installing was a breeze and happy with my purchase... Website was very user friendly as my first plan was to do a 6lug but I talked myself out of it. Thanks etrailer good job, nice company to deal with.

by:

Fast delivery and appears as described. Unfortunately, the inner wheel bearing did not fit my Lippert axle. Must use a Lippert manufactured bearing. This product will fit on the other axle which is not a Lippert - I'll keep it and use it as a spare.

by:

Pre-greased is a real bonus. This is a big enough job as is so the pre installed, greased bearings save time. While these hub/drums are not the 'name brand' the quality of all components looks as good or better than the originals installed on our 12 year old travel trailer. I'm anxious to see how they hold up after a few thousand miles. Thanks to etrailer for the quick shipping. I would like to see a bit better packaging. The drums are heavy and the original product boxes were a bit beat up.

by:

It’s great to see an organization who can still deliver great customer service. We had a mix up on an order and Stacey got things taken care of. Well done!

by:

Hub and drum seem solid but I haven't had time it install it. However the shipping was quick, ordering was easy and the package arrived in good condition.

by:

Everything easy to assemble(save your nut sand washers from axle) hard part was taking off old rusty outdated parts from old brake assembly. Otherwise easy to replace and set up. Also replaces tires and set pressure to 65psi.

by:

The support I received over the phone in finding the type of axle system our trailer had was excellent. The knowledge she shared put me on track to getting the trailer back together and on the road, parts ordered all fit, arrived in a very timely manner as well.

by:

Parts look ok, but its hard to tell as I'm waiting for new electric brake assemblies that aren't here yet.

by:

Ashley helped to identify parts I needed for the travel trailer. She was professional and patient with me. The new brakes and hub are in place. I couldn’t afford to have a dealership replace them so I did it myself.

by:

Haven't had a chance to install my hub's yet but the order process and delivery time were excellent! The hubs were in great packaging and to be well taken care of. I will continue to order from etrailer.com.

Perfect fit, quick installation !

by:

Products were exactly what I needed. Installed in less than 15 minutes. Fast delivery also a plus.

by:

Hubs fit perfect and went on easily. My only suggestion would be not to pack everything in 2 boxes, it’s to heavy and I had dings on every hub and break assembly from being dropped due to the weight, should be packed in 4 boxes.

by:

Great price and quality. Very fast ship ping

by:

Unfortunately, one drum set was missing the 2 included grease caps. Contacted customer service and the missing caps are in route! Overall, the drums work great!

  • Inner Grease Seal Placement On Trailer Electric Brakes
The only thing that would be an issue is if it doesn't seal on the spindle. The spindle is tapered, so it gets thinner as it moves out toward the threads. If you haven't installed the bearings yet, slide the brake assembly on the spindle, look inside the hub and check to see if there is any space between the seal and spindle. If there is then it will not hold the grease inside. If you don't see any space you should be good, I recommend checking the back side of the hub once in a while to...
