Didn't work with the light strips I bought, even though the part numbers were recommended together. I just connected the trailing leads of the light strips instead.

The light strips have positive and negative pigtails at both ends. To daisy chain them you just have to connect the ends of one strip to the next. These connectors are designed to pierce the wires to make that connection, but the plastic casing doesnt hold the wires in the correct place for the piercing elements to work. It was much easier just to use standard butt connectors to join the light strips.

$33.18 connector is best used when cutting the light strip and connecting the two together versus connecting the pigtails together. Your suggestion of using the butt connectors will also work.

I bought 2 of these snap on connectors and one broke and the pins to pierce the strip bent and got gummed up with adhesive. I cleaned it up, bent pin back and kinda fixed it but I doubt the damaged one will last. There are few other options so buy an extra or two. Alternatively, the Optronics strips have about 4" long red/black wires at BOTH ends of the strips which would be uglier but make for a superior connection between two strips.

Awning light had only 3 feet working since we bought it used from dealer. I installed this connector at the break. Now the entire strip is lit up for the first time. Only time will tell if it holds up to the weather.
