Hi there, I'm Michael with etrailer.com. Today we're gonna take a quick look at this Yakima Tower kit. This is going to replace the towers for your Yakima Rack and Roll Trailer. This will work with the two models that you see on the screen there. So if you are needing to replace those original towers this is gonna be a direct replacement from Yakima, so you can trust it is gonna fit right in place of the originals. You can see we are gonna get two towers with this kit as well as the installation hardware to get it installed so that we can use our Rack and Roll Trailer again.

Replaces the towers on your Yakima Rack and Roll trailer.I bought these to use with pickup bed cover t-slots. The problem is bed cover rails are angled at 2 degrees to outboard for water control. To accommodate that, I used 1/8" minicell foam under the works and an addition strip of 1/8" under the outboard half of the towers. Everything snugged up and lined up perfectly. At less than half the price of plastic towers, these are a great alternative.
My Yakima rack-n-roll trailer came with 4 of these tower mounts several years ago. I have added some 78" bars for kayaks and a skybox. I now wanted to add some bike mounts in order to be able to carry 2 hobie kayaks, 2 bikes and fill the skybox with all the necessary accessories for those sports. Total weight of the items is about 205 lbs so still with in the limits of the shocks that came with the trailer.
These towers came quickly and like usual etrailer provided detailed status updates every step of the way. These are slightly different than the ones that came on my trailer. These are all aluminum and 3 3/4"tall by 1 7/8" wide. They are also branded with Etrailer logo. The insert on the original towers is rubber and these are aluminum. They were simple and easy to install and now my trailer is even more useful utilizing a 3rd cross bar.

Our trailer works great for Catrikes. Yakima Rack and Roll is the best thing we've ever bought. 10 years hauling canoes and inflatable kayaks. We never go anywhere without someone asking about our trailer. If you're tired of lifting gear onto your roof, get a Rack and Roll. You will never regret it.
It's wider than I thought I will have to make some modifications.

Somehow I lost a part to my Yakima trailer. The Yakima agent I spoke with directed my to etrailer.com; it was a great recommendation because I received the part in a few days and my kayak is now stabilized on my trailer. Keep up the good work etrailer.com!
The tower kit has been working as expected . It provided me an option for another purpose on my utility trailer/kayak trailer.
These are better then the original one that come with the Yakima trailer. I’m planning on getting a couple more sets.

Was a perfect fit for completing my trailer conversion from sail boat to canoekayak hauling trailer. Using four Yakima bars the conversion now will accommodate five boats of various sizes
