This trailer hub-and-drum assembly has a zinc coating that resists corrosion, making it ideal for use on your boat or snowmobile trailer. All GAL-DEX hubs and drums undergo a test in which they are sprayed with a 5-percent salt solution to determine corrosion resistance over time. These products are able to withstand 500 hours of constant exposure to the saltwater mist. This 500-hour salt spray rating indicates that a product is not only durable enough to last in freshwater environments, but it can also be used on trailers that come into contact with saltwater.
The grease cap on this hub-and-drum assembly is specially designed to work with your Dexter E-Z Lube axle to make lubricating bearings quick and easy. Just remove the plug on the grease cap, attach a grease gun to the zerk fitting on the end of the spindle, and inject the grease. It will flow easily to both inner and outer bearings. Not only does this make lubricating the bearings easy, but it also helps to prevent corrosion of the hub. This is because you can lubricate the bearings without the mess of taking apart the entire assembly.
The first number in the bolt pattern is the number of bolt holes. The second number denotes the diameter, in inches, of the circle on which the bolt holes sit.
On wheels with an even number of bolt holes, measure from the center of one bolt hole to the center of the hole directly across from it. (Example: "8 on 6-1/2" means 8 bolt holes with 6-1/2" from the center of one hole to the center of another on the opposite side.)
To determine the bolt-circle diameter on wheels with an odd number of bolt holes, measure from the center of any bolt hole to the point halfway between the two bolt holes directly across from the first. (Example: "5 on 4-1/2" means 5 bolt holes with 4-1/2" measured to a point halfway between the opposite bolt holes.)
Measuring the distance (D) from the center of one bolt hole on the wheel to the center of a bolt hole right next to it can also help to determine the bolt pattern.

Today we're going to be taking a look at part number 8-219-50UC3-EZ. This is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum Assembly for 5,200 pounds and 7,000 pound E-Z Lube Axles. Bolt pattern on this unit is going to be 8 on 6-1/2. The galvanized marine gray trailer hub and drum assembly is going to fit axles with drum brakes. It's going to include the inner and outer bearings. The races are already pre-installed into the drum. You're going to get the grease seal as well as the grease cap.
The grease cap has a nice rubber boot in it that can easily be removed. That's going to go over the end portion here. Remove the rubber fitting. That's going to expose the end of the spindle, which is going to give you access to the zerk fitting. You can attach your grease gun to that, pump the grease in.
That's going to lubricate the bearings without having to disassemble the hub and drum assembly. Now it's going to be zinc-plated. It's going to have a 500-hour salt spray rating, making this ideal for boat or snowmobile trailers. It is durable enough for salt water applications. The E-Z Lube design makes it very easy to lubricate the bearings. As I said earlier, all you've got to do is remove the plug here on the grease cap.
It's going to allow you to access the zerk fitting on the spindle. Simply attach the grease gun and pump in the grease and lubricate your bearings. It's very simple and easy to do. No dis-assembly is required of the hub and drum assembly, so that's a great feature to have. When it comes to the application, this is designed for 5,200 pound 6,000 pound and 7,000 pound axles. When we take a look at the inside drum dimensions, this is going to give us a width measuring from this point here, going straight across inner width of 12" by 2" wide.
That's just the depth of this portion here. This will work with 12" by 2" electric and hydraulic brake assemblies. The bolt pattern on this unit again is 8 on 6-1/2. The race is already installed here for the inner bearing. That's going to be the larger bearing. That's going to be part number 25580. It's going to give us an inner diameter of 1.75". That simply goes into that portion there. Then you're going to take the grease seal, place it on top of there. You'll need to bump that down into position. That's just how the inner bearing works. Again, bolt pattern 8 on 6-1/2. It does include the zinc plated lug nuts. The wheel studs are going to be 1/2" diameter by 2-11/16" long. Each hub and drum assembly is going to offer a capacity of 3,500 pounds. You're going to get one assembly with this part number. The outer bearing goes into this portion here. That's going to be part number 14125A. Again, outer bearing part number 14125A. That's going to have an inner diameter of 1.25". It goes over top. Then your spindle would be exposed. You need to place on the units to hold that together, the tassle 00:03:00 nut and the pin, or the nut and pin. Then you place on the grease cap that has the rubber boot on the end there that needs to be removed to expose the zerk fitting to pump in grease and lubricate everything as needed. That's going to do it for our review of part number 8-219-50UC3-EZ. This is the Dexter Trailer Hub and Drum assembly for 5,200 to 7,000 pound E-Z Lube Axles. .

Fits like it was new; oh it is new. Brakes are rock solid.
My original order dexter huib was delayed (corona virus) and Teresa guided me through finding one that would fit and got it to me in just a few days instead of waiting another 3 weeks for the original order to be produced. Back on the road again thanks to her!
Fast delivery! Worked great as a direct factory replacement.
