Is the only practical way to create part of the horizontal support frame for a sleeping platform in the trailer. Works fine for this use.

Performs as expected. Working as a pair, they support the weight of two adults plus bedding without any signs of stress.

I have a 14 foot flat roof trailer, and live in New England where snow gets wet ad heavy. I searched the internet for solutions, but nothing available. So I used your x-track vertical and e-track wood beam sockets to build an internal ceiling support system to prevent the roof from sagging under the weight of snow. After spending much time looking for solutions on the web, and coming up empty, this simple solution occurred to me.

by:

I received the products just as described it too about 4 working days.
I plan on building shelves into my enclosed trailer for camping gear.

Great 2x4 mount they are low cost and work well.

by:

Worked absolutely perfect to secure motorcycle front wheel chocks in my vintage '84 toy hauler. Using three lengthwise rows of your E-Track, these brackets allow me a flexible removable system to carry one or two various motorcycles on either side of the little 8' wide hauler. Thanks for your selection of great stuff, and your excellent prompt service.

by:

As requested, here are some pics of my e-track installation. I find the raised e-tracks in the floor very problematic and dangerous so I made sure they were recessed. This is now an extremely versatile cargo trailer.

by:

Haven't used them yet, I'll get back to you in a few days.
UPDATE
I have finished my project with the e-track 2x4 holders. I installed a shelf in the front of my race trailer. The holders fit the e-track a little sloppy, but that was not an issue for me as I have everything tied together. The brackets could be a little narrower. I had to shim the 2" width to make the wood fit snugly.
Pictures attached ,use them if you want.

by:

Not only simplifies adding shelving, but makes the completed shelves removable, and adjustable. I only had about 13 inches to work with in my utility trailer, but I was able to get everything off the floor. (Also used vertical E-track.)

by:

Worked perfectly. Used for a cross country move. Built a platform inside the trailer for all of the lighter weight and delicate items.

by:

Product came in earlier than estimated and in great shape. Here are my 2x4 brackets installed in my trailer. Will put boards on top of the 2x4's and have a shelf for boxes when moving.

by:

OMG!!! I LOVE these!! All types of movable shelving is possible with these brackets!!

by:

Good item. Helped with a bed I installed in my trailer.

by:

I used them to make shelves in V of the trailer and it's working great

by:

Was looking for an way to add removable and moveable shelving to my enclosed trailer. These are super quality

by:

Haven't had the chance to use them yet but they seem well build and snapped in easily.

by:

Used these to build 3 removable and adjustable shelves into the front of my enclosed trailer.

I think these are excellent products. I created a tire rack in my car trailer by installing E- track, supplied from E-trailer as well, on both sides of my trailer at a height equal to the height of my track car tires +3" from the top of the trailer. My car's hood actually goes right under near the tire rack and shelves. These E-Track Wood Beam snap into the E-track. I bought 2 - 2"X4"X8' pieces of wood for every beam I installed into the E-track across the trailer. For 6 beams, I need 12-2"x4"x8's of wood. I doubled every beam with 2-2"x4"x8' for strength. To do this, I used 2-1/2" coated deck screws and screwed them together. On both ends, where the 2"x4"x8's rest in these E-track Sockets, I separated the beams with the use of 2 washers per screw. That allows one 2"x4"x8" to slide down and rest in the E-Track Wood Beam Socket. I drilled holes in the beams to match up with the oval shaped holes, and then thru bolted the beams into these E-Track Socket brackets, so that the wood beams are secured in the brackets.

The total cost for each beam is approximately $15.00 vs. buying a pre-made AL E-Track beam for app $100. I'm using 6 beams for my needs. 2 beams for the tire rack, and 4 beams to create 2 shelf units. The shelf units will require a sheet of 1" 4'x8' plywood, which I will cut into 2-2'x8' sheets, and screw into the bottoms of the beams with cut outs to go around the E-Track Sockets, to create the shelves. Pretty easy, and pretty cost effective. The trick to this project is taking time to install the E-Track correctly at the correct height, and even as measured side by side. I "measured twice, and drilled once" when installing the E-Track. It's not rocket science, but take your time with it, double check the mounting points, the height, and position, and you'll be very happy with the project.

As always, buying all the material from E-Track helped make this project a snap and saved some serious money over the AL E-Track beams!

Everything has worked out perfectly. A beam solution using these e-Track beam brackets designed for wood 2x4s weighs more than an aluminum beam, but it cost less than 110th the price! I built 6 beams, so I saved $500 ! It is worth doing this solution!

I used these to build a bunk and shelf unit in my Sprinter van. As I’m a rather big and tall guy I was a little nervous the first time I climbed into the bunk. Between the etrack and these 2x4 supports gave me a great night sleep. For the bunk and later the shelf I used 4 etracks and 4 of these 2x4 supports, and two 6’ 2x4s and a plywood base at 3/4” thick. After I tied everything in the supports were all strong and solid. I could turn over on my side and never felt any rocking motion or unsteadiness. I highly recommend the etrack and the portable 2x4 etrack hangers.

The project worked out very well for about six months. But since then Imhave remodeled my van and built a bunk with storage. I saved the etrack wood beam sockets just in case I come up with another idea for them. They worked great and I’m happy that I kept them.

by:

Excellent product. I purchased 4 of them in a previous order and they worked so well that I decided I needed more. I installed the E- Track system in my cargo trailer and this item makes it extremely simple to mount temporary partitions in the trailer which take only seconds to move or remove. They can also be used to make a temporary shelf and probably other purposes as well.

One year later, these items still perform flawlessly. From securing items in place to using them for movable partitions this product is outstanding...

I used these moveable brackets to hold a shelving unit I made for my utility trailer. With them installed I have a ton of storage and when removed I can fit two ATV's inside. Very versatile.

Still a solid product that made my trailer extremely versatile. Great company to do business with.

by:

nice quality and fair priced :-)

by:

Modified this cargo trailer to haul RC airplanes(too big to fit in my pickup) and remove the upper deck to make it useful for hauling other items. This makes a truly utility cargo trailer. Numerous tie downs with Etrack is really great. I have other pics if your interested. I just purchased an enclosed car hauler and I plan on installing Etrack in it. Thanks for making great products !

by:

This product does exactly what it is supposed to do. It locks easily into E-Track, and holds a 2" board. The company that I work for uses about 100 a year, and we have not had any problems.

If I could give this 10 stars, I would. I'm a High School Band Director who uses a trailer to get instruments from performance venue to school and back. My previous trailer didn't have any E-track hardware and I just did the best we could. There was always a great deal of shifting of equipment during transport. Now that my current trailer has E-track hardware, I can secure all of my equipment easily and quickly reorganize the entire trailer according to the job's requirements. If you've not got E-track, get it. It's more than worth it's cost in saving of time and convenience.

by:

makes it very easy to mount a shelf in your trailer. i used it for a shelf in the front of my cargo trailer to hold motorcycle helmets, boots and riding gear. i cut a 4' e-track in half and backed the e-track with 3/4 plywood on each side of the trailer for support. in cut the 2 X 4 to length and then used a 2" wide strip of 3/4 plywood as a cleat that attached to the front of the trailer. cut the plywood shelf to fit and you have a sturdy shelf that sits over the front of your motorcycle. you can include vertical pieces of plywood for dividers and a 6 inch piece of 3/8 plywood to cover the ugly 2 X 4 and give yourself a 2" lip to help keep things in place.

by:

The E Track 2x4 fasteners worked very well with the Vertical E Track in my new 6 x 12 enclosed cargo trailer. They are simple to install on the end of your 2 x 4 lumber and hold in place any shelves mounted on them. The locking pins insure they will not come out while in motion.

I have a solution that should work pretty well for you. I'd run a strip of E-track like # E19148 along the edges of the trailer, at least at the front and rear of the trailer. The E-track could be used to secure the lumber using a ratchet strap like # SLLS28RER. The straps are sold individually, so you'd want at least two. At the end of the E-Track, you could use a wood beam socket like # 59149 to secure a board like you have shown in the photo. The sockets are sold individually.

Yes, you can use wood screws to secure the e-tracks to the plywood walls in your trailer. However, as you mentioned the weight capacity would be less than if you were to attach them to metal beams.
