Video Transcript for Plastic Sink Strainer w/ Threaded Basket for 2" Drain Spec Review

Ellen: Hey everyone, I'm Ellen, here at etrailer.com. Today we're taking a look at the plastic sink strainer with threaded basket. Now this is going to be either a replacement or maybe an upgrade for your RV sink drain. So we'll have our little threaded basket in there so we can keep out any food particles from getting into our sync system or our septic system there. And also to prevent anything from falling too far down, like your wedding ring, or a fork, or anything like that. But to open that up, you just thread that out, and that also allows the water to flow through the sink, still catching any of those big items with that strainer.

And then if you close it all the way down, you can fill that sink with suds and water to wash your dishes as needed. It is just made out of a plastic construction, so not going to rust on us, but that's pretty common for a lot of RV parts out there. Most of the interior stuff is going to be made of plastic. It's just kind of the nature of the RV way. Now unthread the mounting nut here, you can see it also has this little foam gasket, so that's going to help to seal it up from the bottom. I would still probably run a bead of sealant around the lip here, as you're putting it into that drain hole opening, maybe just right around the opening ring and then push that drain into it just so you make sure that you have a nice seal for that drain. As far as measurements for this, the outside diameter of this portion that's going to be up on the top, it's going to be two and three quarter inches.

Then our threaded portion is about one and seven eighths inches in diameter. So it's going to work with a two inch drain opening. The length of the threads that we have to work with is about an inch and three quarter, or excuse me, an inch and three eighths, and then the total depth, or height, however you want to look at it, for the drain overall is about an inch and a half.Does have this chrome finish to it, but there are other configurations out there if you need something a little bit different, you can find those right here at etrailer.com, along with some silicone sealant, again, to seal that up, if you'd like. But that's pretty much going to do it for our look at the plastic sink strainer with threaded basket, hope this video has been helpful, and if you need any other parts you can always turn to us here at etrailer.com, and we'll see you next time. Thanks for watching..
