So far, my experience was great! I have a repair shop that does just about whatever is brought to us. Our main line is automotive, power sports, and small engine. We had a customer bring an enclosed trailer with a broken gate lift assist. I called to get some information on lift assist parts for this trailer, and was greeted with a great customer service representative. Easy to deal with and shipping was faster than expected. Thank you team! I am a satisfied customer.

Hello, I apologize for taking so long to reply back, but the product has been working great for me.It was truly a learning experience for me installing it because I had never done one before but through watching instructional videos I was able to do it. Thank you again

by:

Very satisfied. After installing the springs my trailer door worked perfect. No complaints. Would definitely order again

by:

The ramp door spring that I ordered never came with instructions, where the video said that it would. Was this supposed to have some type of instructions with it? Also the shaft ended up being bent during shipping, which is not a huge problem for me because I only needed 5 ft. of the shaft.

I also Installed this for a shed ramp door, but I do seem to have one problem.
I installed the spring, but when the door is closed the shaft spins and the spring unwinds. It seems like when the door is closed there is no more pressure on the door keeping the shaft from spinning.
Am I missing something or is there a solution to this?

Can’t set spring right. . It’s ether to tight. Are not enough. Spring keeps popping like old one. Any suggestions that may help.

by:

Haven’t installed this ramp door spring yet, seems to be exactly what I need.

by:

Very easy company to order from. Spring came on time and so far seems to be a good quality product. I'm very satisfied so far

by:

The spring kit works perfectly and I couldn't be happier with it. The install is straight forward and relatively simple though accessing the set screws used to lock the drums can be a little challenging. A+ for a great sales staff, very efficient and knowledgeable.

by:

It has worked wonderfully. My 2020 trailer I bought brand new came with a double spring and they both popped a month apart…after only 2 years of having it. It’s been great.

Thank you

good item and fast shipping and delivery

print some accurate installation instructions. my garage door install tech did not know the spring when anchored to the rod makes the drums move left and right about 3" inches or more and that crap about making the rod 1" longer than the opening on both sides is BS. The rod put a hole in my trailer trim on the inside and luckily I stop the ramp from raising to close or the rod would have plowed right through the outside skin of my trailer. I will say this, you guys are lucky it didn't put a hole in my trailer. I took over the install. restarted from scratch, cut two and a half inches off the rod. Preloaded the spring (drew a horizontal line on spring and wound the spring three times and secured to rod) with the ramp closed. Then I attached wire hardware to ramp, wound my wires up on my LH and RH drums and secured to ramp. Found this to be the setting for my ramp. Not anywhere did any instruction or person mention preload, it was just something I new to do. Please, do the R & D to develop a good set of working instructions before Your product ruins somebodies property. rate a 2 because of hole inside my trailer due to no instructions for my install guy to go by.

Thank you for your review! It is important to note the warning that is posted with this product that unless you have experience working with torsion springs, you should get professional help with the installation.

Great support and updates from the team! Would recommend buying from them!

by:

Easy to find the part you need and to check out. Parts came in when they were expected.

by:

It’s going to be a big help having this installed.

by:

Great product! Not hard to install. My enclosed trailer door has went from breaking my back to pick up to now I open and close with one finger. The only thing I would improve on is maybe a couple minor details in the instructions. Be sure to hook your cables to the door before rolling the cable on to drums. It doesn't tell you to do this on the sheet of instructions! :)

by:

easy install worked as described.

by:

by:

  • Conventional Ramp Door Spring that Fits 61 inch Wide Ramp Door
We don't have ability to cut down our trailer ramp springs at this time but we do have a Conventional Ramp Door Spring that does fit your 61 inch wide door that would not require cutting with the part # 362SA6 which would work great.

  • Does Conventional Ramp Door Spring # 362SA7 Come with Rods for Winding Spring
The Conventional Ramp Door Spring # 362SA7 that you referenced was designed to be taken to a professional with experience winding torsion springs like a garage door company. It does not come with the tools typically needed to wind the spring. In the review video I attached you can see everything that comes with this as well.

  • Trailer Ramp Spring Recommendation for 63-1/2 inch Wide Ramp
The best ramps spring option we have would be the part # 362SA7 which is 77 inches wide and has a lifting power of 150 lbs. It can be cut down to your specific custom needs and is designed to accommodate doors as small as 43 inches in width. • How to Weigh Ramp Door to Know Correct Ramp Spring Capacity
In order to properly weigh your door to figure out the correct spring you only need to find the weight when the ramp door is down. You do not need to remove the door to find this weight. You will need a scale in order to measure the weight, a bathroom scale will do. Place a block of wood or other durable material on the scale and rest the end of your ramp on the block. This will give you the weight of your door. Don't forget to subtract out the weight of the block for a more accurate...

  • Can Second Conventional Style Ramp Spring be Added to RV Door
Hey Matt, it would be pretty difficult to install two of the ramp door springs part # 362SA7 at the same time so it's going to be best to just use the one. You most likely will find that you don't have to have it fully wound to get enough spring to make lifting the ramp easier but you could potentially wind it tighter at that point to get it to help lift even more.

  • Replacement Cable for an Enclosed Trailer Ramp Door Spring
It sounds like you're looking for a replacement cable for your trailer ramp spring. We have some here. The Replacement Cables for Conventional Ramp Door Spring, part # CAB1-8CB150, is a set of two cables that measure 150" long. You will want to measure from the bottom of the ramp door when fully lowered to the spring above the door frame to get the minimum measurement. I've linked to a video review of these cables for you to look at. If your measurement happens to be longer, let me know...

  • Ramp Spring Recommendation for 72 inch Wide Door that Weighs 160 lbs
The whole assembly (96 inches wide) would be too long to trim down and still fit. I'd recommend going with the slightly smaller # 362SA7, which can be trimmed down. The spring has a capacity of 150 lbs. That means you will need to slightly support the door but it will be very minimal and will allow great assistance with operation. The # CB250D96SHD although rated for up to 250 lbs is also only able to be cut down to 80 inches. We strongly recommend having a professional overhead door...

  • Trailer Ramp Spring Assist Recommendation for a 44 inch Wide Trailer Ramp
The best ramp assist spring recommendation I can make for you would be the Enclosed Trailer Ramp Spring # 362SA7. Check out the review video I attached to the right. The installation instructions for this product are recommended for individuals who have experience winding torsion springs. If you have not worked with a torsion spring system before, we recommend contacting a local garage door company to install this system.

  • Trailer Ramp Spring for a 5x8 Enclosed Trailer 72 Inches Wide Inside
Ramp springs such as # RS16933LH would be too heavy duty for your 5x8 trailer. The only other option we carry would be a garage door type of spring system. Since the trailer is 72 inches wide on the inside you would use # 362SA7 which is 77 inches wide and can be cut to length. The torsion spring on this type of set up can be dangerous to work with if you do not have experience with them. that is why we recommend a local overhead door technician perform the installation.
