Specs:
The trailer connector on this 5th-wheel/gooseneck wiring harness gives you the functionality of a 7-way, but without any pins or blades to bend or break. It's designed to work with a matching EZ Connector plug (sold separately) to create a secure, watertight connection that lasts. Strong magnets in both the plug and the socket keep the connection tight and secure, even when you're driving on rough terrain. Built-in O-rings create a seal to keep out water and debris. And spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts are long-lasting and easy to clean. These factors combine for a strong, durable connection that's easy to use and to maintain.
The EZ Connector system uses magnets inside the plug and socket to hold the connectors together. Simply insert the trailer-end plug (sold separately) into this vehicle-end socket and the internal magnets will snap them together, no latch needed. To disconnect, just pull the plug out by hand.
The magnet inside of this trailer connector is made of neodymium, an extra-strong, rare-earth alloy. This high-quality magnet ensures a tight connection between the connectors that is stable enough to make it through intense bumps and road vibration.
The lid on this trailer connector has a silicon O-ring that creates a watertight seal over the socket when the lid is closed. The EZ Connector trailer-end plug (sold separately) has a double O-ring that will create a seal when it's inserted into the connector. This ensures that the terminals on this vehicle-end socket stay protected from moisture and debris at all times.
All of the EZ Connector systems have earned a perfect score on the SAE water submersion test. This means that the seal created on this connector, either with the lid or with the EZ Connector trailer-end plug, will stay watertight, even if the connector is completely submerged in water for extended periods of time.
This EZ Connector socket has spring-loaded, face-to-face electrical contacts instead of pins or blades. Pins and blades can bend, corrode, and even break off, which can lead to a permanently damaged connection. With the EZ Connector system, there are no pins or blades to bend or break. Because there are no pins or blades, there are also no pin sockets on the trailer-end plug (sold separately) that can trap debris. And if any dirt or debris does collect on the terminals of either end of an EZ Connector setup, it can be quickly and easily wiped away. No more scraping pins to get grime off. The result of all of this is a quality, effective connection every time you plug in.

Speaker 1: Today we're taking a look at the EZ Connector Magnetic Fifth Wheel or Gooseneck Pigtail Harness with Seven-Way Connector. This provides a seven-way connector in your truck bed for hooking up your fifth wheel and gooseneck trailer. The connector mounts on the truck bed sidewall, tailgate post, or wheel well. It does require a 2" minimum diameter hole for the installation. This is a pigtail harness that needs to be hard-wired into your vehicle's wiring system. With this installed, it does retain the use of your factory seven-pole connector at the rear of your vehicle. Be sure to connect your wires based off of function and not just rely on color coding.
So, you'll want to test each wire and connect by function. That's the safest, most effective way to make your connections. Now, right here at the seven-way connector, it uses a powerful magnet to join with the magnet in an EZ Connector Trailer End Plug, which is sold separately, and it really provides nice tight secure connection. The plug will stay tightly connected despite the bumps and vibrations common with towing. I do have a trailer end plug, for example, just to show how to make that connection. So, basically what you'll do is you would take the plug from your trailer, lift open the lid, line up the indention with the pin, and allow it to connect, and then you can allow this to come back on top of the plug there. That provides a nice tight secure connection.
It's very easy to use. When you're ready to disconnect, just pull it out and then this is a self-closing lid. That way it covers up those connection points, keeps them safe from dirt, grime, moisture, which is really going to help prevent corrosion. Now, when connected, the system uses face-to-face electrical contacts, so there's no pins or blades to bend or break, which eliminates concerns about electrical arcing and abraded pins. The contacts are also very easy to clean when necessary. The unit features a silicon O-ring on the lid that creates a watertight seal when the lid is closed to keep out moisture and debris, and the unit uses marine-grade wiring to resist water damage. This is a spring-loaded, self-closing lid that automatically covers the connector.
It does come with a hardware bag, so you're going to get detailed installation instructions and all the necessary hardware you need. You get butt connectors, heat shrink tubing, all that's included, as well as a heavy duty zip tie. This is a four-hole mount installation, so you can see there, we got four mounting holes to mount it in the bed of our truck. When it comes to the cable length, we're looking at about 4' long and the product's covered with a limited lifetime warranty. That's going to do it for today's look at the EZ Connector Magnetic Fifth Wheel or Gooseneck Pigtail Harness with Seven-Way Connector.

Install this socket in your truck bed for fast, easy hookup of a 5th-wheel or gooseneck trailer. Built-in magnet creates tight connection with an EZ Connector trailer-end plug (sold separately). Face-to-face contacts mean no bent or broken terminals. It's an awesome product with ez instructions and a decent price for an awesome product great build and will definitely take the hit from being pulled apart!!!
I installed the pigtail on the fitfthwheel today along with the connector into the bed of the pick-up. I found the colors matched exactly on the fifthwheel and was fairly easy to install. I then installed the connector into the bed of the pick-up and found the assembly fit easily into the left rear quarter panel of the 2015 Chevrolet 3500. The wire colors were totally off from the truck wiring so a test light was needed to identify the location of each wire. Once this was completed the install was simply cutting and crimping wires. After the install of approx 2 hours ( I went slow to assure it was correct) I tested the circuits and found that all worked correctly. Looking forward to pulling and seeing how it functions.
