This fully welded trailer hitch receiver bolts onto your vehicle's frame with no welding required. Powder coated steel is sturdy and corrosion resistant.Electrical install went very well, took about 2 hours. Worked on tow bar for about 3 hours, could not thread bolts in hole. Went to my auto shop, they had to use other bolts, inside hole on passenger side did not line up. Have three of 4 bolts installed. Will return to shop tomorrow to solve hole #4 dilemma.
As always, hitches from Etrailer are top notch. Fit was spot on. Rack came fast, too! Just skip the hassle and get your stuff from Etrailer!
Good looking heavy duty hitch, VERY easy to install! On my 2012 Nissan Murano, I did NOT have to lower the exhaust. I gently pushed in the bottom skirt below the bumper and gained enough room to raise the right side into place after I'd placed the left side (drivers side) where it needed to be and got one bolt started. Seemed to work great. Wiring harness worked exactly as described, but you do have to disassemble a lot of the rear of the car, so be ready for that. Very happy with my purchase, 3rd time I've bought from eTrailer and will continue to do so. Keep it up, guys!
Outstanding product, easy to install, worked as advertised. The hitch bolted right in and I did not have to drop the exhaust...very straight forward process. I also ordered and installed the wiring harness and 4 pin bracket, no issues; instructions were precise and on target. Great product and great service.
The Curt trailer hitch fits and looks great on my 2009 Nissan Murano. The unexpected problem with the install is 3 of the 4 needed bolt holes in the frame of the vehicle were corroded from road exposure, preventing threading of the bolts. To correct this, I purchased a 12mm -1.25 metric tap and T-handle tap wrench (from Menards for around $15 total). I did have to lower the exhaust assembly (per the instructions) to gain access to use the tap. With use of a spray lubricant, the tap cleaned out the threads without much difficulty. Just get it straight when you start and it works well. Took a total of about 90 minutes in all with the failed attempts to insert the bolts on the first try, then tapping of the 3 bolt holes.
Shipping was fast and etrailer customer service was on the ball at keeping me informed as well as making it simple to access videos on how to install the trailer hitch and the wiring.
I will definitely be using etrailer for all my future trailer needs.
Fit perfectly to my Murano 2014. I didn't have to raise it. I used two jack stand to help me line up the hitch. The hardest part for me is removing the rubber holding the muffler assembly. WD-40 really helps though. Tip. If no one is helping you to hold the hitch, use two jack stand.
I have a black Nissan and it blends in perfectly with the Car. When it's not in use it still looks stock. Very nice build and very easy to install, albeit another pair of hands is recommended.
WOW!!! A perfect fit for our Nissan Murano CrossCabrolet . My girlfriend and I installed in in about 20 minutes. We did not remove the exhaust. I cleaned the holes on frame with a battery terminal brush, the hardest part. It's a little tight working around the exhaust, but easier than letting it down. We bought a cargo carrier to haul extra anything and have a bike rack. Also pull jet skis, about 1,500 lbs. a great solution.
This was an easy install!! The videos and instructions on etrailer’s website were very easy to follow. I didn’t drop the exhaust because I couldn’t get the holders out of the gaskets but I could easily work around that. Took less than 30 minutes to install & maybe 15 minutes to install the wiring for the lights.
Very quick shipping, great price. Hitch fit perfectly. Easy install. Instructions said install would take 40 minutes. I easily did it by myself with no lift in that amount of time. My second great experience with etrailer.com.
Added this hitch to our SUV so we could transport our fat tire bikes to weekend trips. It was easy to install and works great. Very happy with this hitch.
Wanted to share photos of my newly installed receiver hitch & wiring for
lights I received this past Friday for my new vehicle. I want to thank both
Natalie & Shawn for their professional assistance in choosing & receiving in
time to use this past weekend.
It's been a pleasure doing business with your team & e-trailer & will
recommend to many.
Package arrived on time. The hitch installation was easy it looks good on the car, however in order to install the hitch the factory tow bracket had to be removed.
Shame on you Etrailer for shipping a hitch mount that does not align 100% with Nissan Murano 2011. I purchased the "Curt Trailer Hitch - Custom Fit - Class III -2" because of the claim on the web site that stated "it is a 100% fit" for my car.
I received the hitch mount and proceeded with its installation, I quickly found out that the hitch mount does not align with the car's bolt holes. I spent over an hour trying to make it align to no avail. The hitch mount holes on one side were at least 1/2 inch inward from the car's holes.
I called Etrailer and I got customer service, I explained the problem and I was put on hold to get somebody that could help me. After a couple of minutes I was told that that they are busy and somebody will call me back. Well, two days later and still no one called.
At any rate, I googled "Etrailer hitch mount misalignment" and found a link on Etrailer web site that explains the hitch mount misalignment (6 page document). Apparently it is a frequent problem that many customers experienced.
So based on the document, Etrailer expects customers to have a table vise, or solid stairs' edge, or pry bar, or have a 2x4 to re-align the hitch mount. Well, not every customer has those handy.
I had to go to Home Depot, purchased a 2 footer 2x4 and then used it with a car jack to re-align the hitch mount. I spent a hour and a half between re-aligning it and install it - but it was not easy.
Here is the thing - The hitch mount is heavy duty and good quality; however, the issue is quality control. I suggest Etrailer to have a blueprint sheet that outlines the exact holes for every car and then when they receive an order, they need to make sure the holes on the hitch mount align with the holes on the car make and model blueprint before shipping it to the customer. The customer should not go through all the trouble and the hard work to re-align the hitch mount to make it fit.
I give the "5" stars for the quality of the product, but "0" stars for quality control.
Weldment of trailer hitch was warped and did not line up with the bolt hole pattern.
My order arrived 1 day before it was scheduled. Easy install.
Very pleased
Great product and shipped fast. I loved the video explaining how to install. I installed it myself. I'm not a mechanic by any stretch--I had to borrow the tools I needed from a friend. I was able to install it without putting it up on jacks and without lowering the muffler as recommended in the video. There was so much rust under the car (my Murano is 7 years old) that I didn't want to try and lower the muffler and then have another headache with something breaking while I did that. I had a problem in that all the sockets were rusted so I couldn't fit the bolts in. I didn't have a Tap and since I didn't lower the muffler I didn't have the room to work with one even if I did. After several days of working with a rust spray and the pipe cleaner brush in the video I got the bolts to bite.
Love this hitch. Had if for a year and never had a problem with it. Installed it on my 2011 Nissan
I think it did get a bit damaged in transit. We had to make I tad wider with a 4 pound hammer. But all in all very happy. BTW I have one I ordered from you about 2015 or 2016 on my van and it has served us magnificently!!
Received the hitch on time for our 2013 Murano. My initial concern was if I could install the hitch without lowering the muffler system. My concern was unwarranted. I was able to install the hitch by myself and it only took me approx 1 hour. I located the hitch in place and blocked it in the install position so i could bolt it up with my hands free.
I would recommend the product and company to anyone
The team and selection at etrailer.com is excellent and the Draw-Tite Draw-Tite Ball Mount Trailer Hitch Ball Mount purchased installed easily and the tech support team answered my questions in a timely manner and provided the support needed. I will certainly search their inventory for my future trailer needs.
The hitch is amazing. The directions were spot on and very useful. The reason I'm not rating it 5 stars is that they shipped the wrong product and the boxing isn't clear on what models the hitch matches. I had undone the muffler and was ready to install before I figured out it wasn't a match. Support was slow to pick up (60 minutes of wait time) but once they picked up they were apologetic and shipped a replacement
This product was as easy to install as advertised. I did try cleaning out the crud in the bolts as suggested but didn't have much luck (8 years of crud had collected). I had seen in an online video how someone used a tap to clean out the nut threads. I did this and it worked like a charm. Aside from the trip to the hardware store to get the proper size tap (12 - 1.25) it took about 30 minutes to install. As suggested in a video I also used a tie-down strap to help support the exhaust after removing it from the hangers (another tip spray these with WD-40 to aid in the removal).
Recommendation fit my car perfectly! Hitch was also delivered the day after I ordered it!
