Installation
This custom-fit T-One connector plugs into your vehicle's wiring harness, which is located behind the driver's-side and passenger's-side tail lights. You will have to remove the tail light assemblies to access this harness.
Once installation is complete, the 4-way flat connector will be stowed in the jack storage compartment of your rear cargo area.
It is recommended that you use a small amount of grease on all electrical connections - the plugs on your automobile and the 4-pole connector itself - to help prevent corrosion.
Tail Light Converter
A tail light converter is built into this T-One connector. Because most trailers run on a two-wire system - wherein the brake and turn signals are carried on one wire - the separate brake and turn signals from your vehicle's three-wire system need to be combined so they are compatible with the wiring system of your trailer. The tail light converter combines the brake and turn signal functions of your automobile so that they run on one wire to properly activate your trailer's tail lights. Note: This will not affect how the tail lights on your vehicle operate.

Includes tail light converter. This wiring harness worked perfectly for my 2004 Sienna with a towing package.
Works great! It was exactly what I needed for my 2007 Toyota Sienna, and was easy to install.
Wiring harness for my RAV4 Hybrid was a cinch to install. Kit included all the parts needed, plus sufficient wire to connect to my battery.
2008 Toyota Sienna LE 8 passenger, FWD, stock.
Hitch, perfect fit! Wiring harness, perfect length. Time, about 2 beers on an empty stomach.
Tools: you will need a metric socket set.
10mm to remove the rear plastic cover in the trunk (for the wiring harness kit installation), 19mm to install the bolts that secure the hitch to the van. Follow the instructions or [online] it... one can do it... but two is always better than one... unless you two don't get along, then go at it alone...
You may/will also need a drill, heavy duty sheers or hacksaw. Some sort of liquid rust fighter, a pry-bar, various chunks of wood.
Basically, I bought 4 HDX 1/2" fitting brushes from [online] for $x.xx a piece, nipped the handles off, and put them in the drill. Going in the forward direction only (if you set the drill in reverse in an attempt to back out the brush it will literally unwind and come apart), I sprayed rust breaker on the brush and used them to clean out the holes for the bolts. The bolts are metric and a fine thread (meaning the grooves are more shallow than coarse threads, there are more groves, and they take more to clean out, coarse seems to be more forgiving when rusted.).
I used all four brushes to clean out the six holes. As my vehicle was bought used, it had no plastic rear cover so the threads where corroded. The pry-bar and wooden blocks where to hold the exhaust tube out of the way (pry the bar to the side, use the blocks to hold it.
Once the threads are cleaned out, it's a snap. It would be a good idea to put a little anti-corrosion on each bolt before installing (good habit to have.)
Installed the wire harness kit from etrailer. Loved it, would recommend getting some wire protector sleeves and sliding this over the wires for longevity protection. This would prevent the vibrations from driving down the road from wearing through the wires insulation and causing a potential/eventual short circuit...(etrailer.... why don't you offer a protection kit for a few bucks more.... one stop shop hint hint.... I'd pay extra for the convenience and also if it came with more zipties...zip ties.... a lot more zipties..)
Final thoughts: it is my intention to do the following... if you [online] "Michael Byrne air loft review" he has a 2015 dodge grand caravan I would copy.
Install ceramic rated rotors, and ceramic brakes for heavier hauling.
Install air lift helper springs from etrailer... would love to get the compressor kit, but cannot justify the cost of convenience... according to Michael Bryne, the included air hose didn't like the cold and flexing and failed... (so if you live in the cold ranges, due dilligence is probably a good idea).... Thus the airbags collapsed and pinched and tore the bags. He recommends upgrading the air hose to a braided line. I think I will do this, and route it into the van to a T-fitting. Then use the included line to run up to the driver seat before putting in another T-fitting in.. one side will supply a pressure guage that I can see as I drive daily and monitor for low pressure... the other will go the fill nipple located nearbye... That way I can use an air compressor that I already have that runs off of the cigarette port to fill it, and see my pressure from the same spot, that I monitor... (Why etrailer doesn't offer an add on kit of more hose, fittings, and a pressure Guage with a mount kits is beyond me... hint hint... take the idea etrailer... ask $XX extra bucks, one stop shop, and its a heck-of-a better bargain than a $XXX basic compressor kit.... some of us dont need fancy, we need practical)....
I also plan on upgrading the suspension to a beefier, stiffer suspension, as the van tends to be a little soft when loaded down. I put in Monroe load adjusting shocks and KYB quick struts and looooooved them when I had my grand caravan... also had put on 4 all weather tires that roooocked in the snow from tires plus... they where quiet...
I know, I know, why not get a suburban? Sliding doors, that's why, sliding doors = no door dings caused by my children.... it's lower to the ground so my little ones can get in without the risk of falling and cracking their heads on pavement... that and the 24mpg... and it's paid for... and it's a toyota.... plus.... who wants to steal a minivan...
I wish I could recommend this product, however after using it just a couple of times, it stopped working and I had to pull my trailer at night with no lights at all. I’m not quite sure what to do with this point.
Fast shipping, perfect fit and has functioned well over the last year. It really gave us a lot more adventuring options as a family with a van. The only thing to watch for is if you are installing this on an older vehicle with a pre-drilled/threaded frame for a hitch is that you may need to run a tap through it to clean out the corrosion out of the threads. A small economic investment that really added a lot to our vehicles capabilities.
I didn’t think that installing a wiring harness would be a DIY project. It was easy to install with the video and worked perfectly.
As described, great price, perfect fit, faaast delivery! I ordered from etrailer before and will definitely order from them again!
Wiring harness was a breeze to install. Works great, no problems.
This harness was easy to install and solved an issue that I could not diagnose with my old harness.
The items arrived earlier than expected. The hitch an electric install was smooth. If needed, I will definitely order from etrailer again.
Perfect fitment.
Excellent quality as always
Super easy to install, the instructions are well written. This makes the process of wiring up the trailer lights very simple!!
90's ford's were easier, hi quality and under 30 minutes to install
Fits perfect. Allways retorque your mounting bolts after the first real tow. All but one of mine were good!
Working as needed and expected.
This wiring harness was so simple to install. Took about 30 minutes start to finish.
Perfect fit. Online install demo was great, but there is a better way to route the trailer plug to the outside for a more permanent, and out of the way, factory install kind of look .
Fast shipping, easy install, great prod uct
Awesome product and even better customer service. I’ll be using etrailer again.
Easy to install and has lasted well. Not big on the loose wire just hanging out but I understand there aren't many options.
Superfast shipping and fits perfectly!!
I bought a hitch, stinger, ball and wiring harness for my 2004 Toyota Sienna. It was delivered fast, it was the right stuff, and it fit, just like it was supposed to. It really was as easy to install as it looked in your video. The video was immensely helpful too. The video showed me exactly what I needed to know to get my hitch installed correctly and it gave me the confidence to order online and do it myself. The only drawback is a loss of ground clearance but you warned me fair and square up front about that, so I can hardly complain. Thank you, that was a good investment.
Kit came with good instructions and pictures of the installation of the specific car itself, not just some generic pictures. Length of the wires are generous and allowed some flexibility of routing and location of the unit. The plugs snaps solidly into their respective places. Everything works like it should before the car panels and tail lights were put back into their places. Great product! Along with the Curt hitch bar, now my 07 Sienna is ready to tow a boat.
