Thule's AeroBlade Edge crossbars attach directly to your vehicle's fixed mounting points or flush, factory side rails to create a roof rack that is quieter, stronger, and more aerodynamic than almost anything on the road. The low-profile, arced shape of the bars couples with the unique WindDiffuser stripping to produce a bar that is so quiet you'll forget you even have a rack on your car. Many factory and aftermarket roof racks produce an annoying whistle that can only be quelled by adding a fairing to the system. Not only is a fairing unnecessary with the AeroBlade Edge, but adding one would actually make it louder and less aerodynamic.
A built-in T-track sits along the top of each bar, near the front. When no accessories are mounted, the included WindDiffuser rubber stripping covers the T-slots. (You can also cut the stripping so that it can be placed in the slots around any carriers or accessories that are mounted.) The rubber stripping serves to keep dirt and grime out of each T-slot and provides a little scratch-resistant cushion for any mounted items.
The unique aspect of the WindDiffuser, which comes standard with the AeroBlade Edge, is the raised, angled vectors (or ribbing). This textured surface disrupts and redirects the air flowing over the bar, tripping it to create turbulence and clean air release. The result is less wind noise and drag, little to no annoying whistle, and a more aerodynamic rack. In fact, the AeroBlade Edge crossbars have been shown to produce 90 percent less sound energy than the elliptical Thule Aero bars, making them the quietest style of load bars in the industry.
Thule took a note from the manufacturers of high-performance cars, such as Ferrari and Maserati, and designed the AeroBlade Edge with a Kammback (or Kamm-tail) style. This crossbar does not have a full-length teardrop-type tail; rather, it is cut off, leaving a square end at the rear of the bar. The aerodynamic effect is essentially the same as it would be if the bar continued into a full teardrop shape. Air continues to move over it in a streamlined fashion, flowing along the bar as it would if the tail were complete. Because there is no tail, though, the bar is smaller and weighs less.
The Thule AeroBlade Edge load bars are constructed of extruded aluminum to ensure an extra-sturdy roof rack system. During the extrusion process, metal is shaped to form a complex BoxBeam design on the interior of each bar, as seen in the cross section of the AeroBlade Edge. Each fold adds to the overall strength and rigidity of the bar. This process creates crossbars that are primarily hollow but still reinforced for added strength. The result is a bar that can withstand more than 800 lbs of force, yet weighs so little that it takes up only a slight portion of your load capacity.
The AeroBlade Edge mounts to your vehicle's roof with a Thule Podium fit kit . Once you've installed the fit kit onto the crossbar legs, you must position the bar correctly on your roof. To center the bar, remove the covers from the legs and slide the crossbar in and out of the legs as needed until the bar is centerd on your roof. You will be able to determine if the bar is centered by matching up the numbers displayed on the integrated ruler at the top of each leg. When the numbers match - indicating correct positioning - simply tighten the adjustment screw inside each leg with the included tool and replace the leg covers.
Mounting roof rack accessories is quick and easy with the AeroBlade Edge. Simply remove the crossbar cover, slide in your accessory, and replace the cover. Some accessories may require Xadapt hardware (sold separately), and trimming of the WindDiffuser strip may be required to accommodate accessory mounting hardware. To deter theft of your carriers - and the crossbars - add Thule One-Key System lock cylinders (sold separately) to the covers.

eTrailer provided great shipment/notification support. Little more than trivial to install Thule AeroBlade along with this fit kit onto 2021 Mazda CX-9, but eTrailer was great resource for how-to videos that were key to successful install.
Etrailer delivery was fast and efficient. Full kit was ordered and easily installed onto Mazda5. Looks great and no noticeable wind noise/drag.

The 7602 and 7603 Aeroblade along with fit kit 3132 was a perfect fit for my 2020 Acura MDX. It looks nice and installation was fairly straightforward though the Thule instructions could have been a little more clear.
The only negative is the plastic end caps are held on with a plastic quarter-turn bolt which was not easy to get to engage at first. I don't think these plastic bolts pieces will hold up long term.

The Thule product is excellent. Unfortunately the person who assisted me over the phone said it would work with my 2019 VW Atlas with a sunroof and your website said as well. I cannot open the sunroof with the Thule Areoblade Edge. I called and sent an email, but etrailer said it was past the return ( it was winter when I bought them so we were not opening the sun roof)and referred to their fine print or some list of excuses why they would not help me get the right product. You most likely will not put this review up on your site I imagine.
If you are shopping for roof racks I would consult some other sources on fit for your vehicle. Thanks

I don’t usually write reviews, but I felt particularly compelled to write one on this purchase. etrailer shipped my items quickly and had fair prices for the rack I wanted for my car. The packages arrived in two boxes. The items were floating freely- literally screws, wrenches, bars, instruction manuals etc were just thrown into the 2 boxes. It was a mess. I needed to check under the folded cardboard in the base of the box to find some of the pieces, which had settled under there. Not surprisingly, I was missing 3 screws and 1 plastic lock in the order. I needed to drive to [hardware store] mid assembly to get a screw match. Fortunately, I had ordered replacement metal locks anyway, so that wasn’t a big deal. In the end, I got the rack assembled, but it was a mess and I gotta say, that was the packaging you would expect from an amateur [resell site] order.

I bought Thule Aero roof racks as a Christmas gift so they have not yet been opened or installed. I’ve purchased the same racks for a different car and they are outstanding. Strong and silent!
I bought from etrailer for a few reasons: first, their selection of products from a wide variety of manufacturers, makes my choice, not of the location but of the product itself. I have various Thule and Yakima products and enjoy them all but it’s nice to have that choice. Second, the service by etrailer has been OUTSTANDING, even during COVID, supply chain delays and Christmas rush. Ordered these on-line and received them in about 4 days! Love it! Did the same thing last year with a bike rack.
I get promotional emails from etrailer periodically through the year and I don’t always look at them. I’m thinking, when would I need that again? Well, I needed it again and delivered- again.

The Cross bars are great and far superior to the factory cross bars because they aren't fixed. The factory cross bars only have one mounting location and it's too close together to clear most snowboard bindings. The aluminum Thule rack looks great on my wife's Silver 2014 Ford Escape Titanium with silver roof rails. No noticeable wind noise and the couldn't be easier to mount. The rubber mounting points appear like they won't damage or wear any paint off of the roof rails either.
I have a very low clearance in my garage and was hopping that the AeroBlade Edge bars would mount low enough to clear and they do. The top of the bar is about 3.25 inches above the roof at the sides. It appeared like the AeroBlade Crossroads bars would sit a bit higher that's why I went with the AeroBlade edge.
I ended up modifying the mounts of the Thule Pull Top Slide-Out Ski and Snowboard Carrier (also purchased from etrailer) to sit flush with the cross bars to gain a few inches of clearance. Basically I took the universal mounting feet off and use standard Thule t-bolts to mount the rack flush. Much cleaner looking in addition to the additional clearance too.
Etrailer was great, upgraded my shipping and the information online here was really helpful. Would definitely buy from them again.
Now we pray for snow!

One Aeroblade came in a THULE package and was obviously brand néw. The other (rear) came loose in a large box, it was obvious that it had been used before. Thule makes a good product. The fact that I spent full price on a used component does not sit well with me.

I was concerned about the fit given that the dealership said this unit would not fit this car with a sun roof. I discovered etrailer during my search for more fit up information. etrailer had better information than even Thule. As a bonus, the cost was lower than other sites I visited.

Purchased for an 8000 mile roadtrip last summer. A perfect fit for our Ford Flex. Easy to locate correct model on etrailer.com website and best price we could find. Install was a snap with good instructions. Great customer support at Thule - totally class company. We used it to mount our Thule luggage carrier as well as fishing poles on the sides.
