These low-profile, aerodynamic Vortex Aero crossbars let you build a stylish aftermarket roof rack from scratch. The crossbars require 4 Rhino-Rack legs (manufactured in 2014 or later) and a custom fit kit to mount it to your roof. Each bar extends past the roof rack legs to maximize the space for mounting carriers and accessories. Rubberized Vortex strips in each crossbar's top channel disrupt airflow for a quiet ride, and the bars are constructed of aluminum so they won't rust. The crossbars also include Secure Core endcaps with plastic locks to help deter theft of channel-mounted accessories.
The rubberized Vortex strips in the top channel of each crossbar disrupt airflow with evenly spaced, wave-shaped grooves. This carefully controlled turbulence minimizes wind noise and whistling, so you won't need to add a fairing to your roof rack. And the slim, elliptical Vortex Aero crossbars cut through the air with minimal drag - even at highway speeds.
The Vortex Aero crossbars are made of structural-grade anodized aluminum with H-shaped internal extrusions. These extrusions strengthen the bars without adding a significant amount of weight. And the aluminum bars won't rust so you can leave them on your roof year-round.
Each crossbar has a channel in the bottom for mounting to Rhino-Rack roof rack legs (sold separately). Each end of the channel includes a rubber ruler to help you center the bar on your roof. Simply use the numbers and hash marks on the rulers to ensure the legs are spaced properly in the channel.
Each Vortex Aero crossbar has a built-in C-channel so you can carry channel-mounted accessories such as bike racks, watersport carriers, and ski racks. The Vortex strips in the top channels come in 3 pieces, so they're easier to adjust than a single long, continuous strip. You can remove, trim, and re-insert the Vortex strips around the mounting hardware of your accessories to keep the crossbar channel capped and quiet. Replacement strips (sold separately) are also available if you remove your accessories or switch to clamp-on accessories.
You can also attach most clamp-on accessories to the bars, and the Vortex strips provide a shock-absorbing, no-slip cushion for any accessories that rest on them.
Each crossbar includes 2 Secure Core locking endcaps made of durable polypropylene. These endcaps lock with a universal tubular key. The polypropylene locks secure the endcaps to the crossbars and help to secure channel-mounted accessories to the crossbars. For maximum security, you can upgrade to endcaps with all-metal lock cores (RRVA-LEC4 - sold separately).

My inital thought of these crossbars were that they were going to be too small. Two of the other big makers call for 53" min and 60" recommended. However after installing, 49" is a perfect fit for the Cayenne I feel. The rack is extremely quiet (make sure you use the channel rubber on top and bottom) The Cayenne is fairly quiet car inside and it was one of my big concerns but I only hear what sounds like a slight rush of air, no buzzing or whistling at all. The downside to this rack is I think the black paint is too thin. Just laying it on the pavement while setting up caused scratches to appear. Silver would be the way to go if your getting these, or spray them plastic. 877238

The Rhino Rack is solid and sleek and is largely silent while driving (if I have the roof open you can hear a soft whistle). Service from ETrailer was excellent. Personal and very helpful service (kudos to Michele S.) . Prompt shipping and items exactly as described. The installation videos on their website were helpful but I still needed to follow the written instructions. Without hurrying it took me about an hour and a half to assemble and install the rack on my Tundra. It fit very well and feels very secure. Still need to take it out onto the road. If anything bad shows up I'll post an updated review but I really don't expect any problems. I've used roof rack systems from Thule and Yakima in the past and this system is far better than anything I've seen from either of those companies. The instructions are great (the kit came with detailed instructions that are specific to my vehicle), the parts all have a very high level of quality, and the whole system works really well together. I like that I can take the racks off my roof to have a clean look and then put them on only when I need them. Once I got the initial setup done (which was about an hour), it's a matter of less than 15 minutes to put them on or take them off again (I could probably do it faster if I was in a hurry). 407151

I purchased this rack for our 2015 Nissan Altima. We ordered the system with the square "Euro" bars. Package arrived quickly and in good condition. Instructions were generally good and easy to follow although the information on where to set the supports on the "Euro" bars was incorrect. I looked at pictures of installed systems to see where the supports needed to be on the roof and then manually moved them in place. It took a little adjusting back and forth with trial and error, but it ended up working fine. Since then the rack works well and seems quite solid. My Rhino-Rack Aero 2500 roof racks fit solidly on my 2007 Honda Civic EX. I was really impressed with the construction and strength of the rack system. Also the versatility of the 'legs' with a swivel pad allow them to fit any roof pitch perfectly. The clamps are so solid, nothing could knock these racks off. I added a paddleboard attachment and went surfing today. The black racks also look great with the black trim on my silver Honda. Great product at a much better price than Yakima or Thule. 395557
These crossbars were easy to install, are sturdy when installed and look great on my factory side rails when installed with the SX Series legs. The standard end caps are an all-plastic affair and use a little key to engage a cam lock. That plus the distance from the end of the crossbar to the nut that tightens the foot onto the rail keeps things relatively secure. Most people probably want to opt for proper locking end caps, though. The rubber vortex strips look nice and give items something grippy to rest on. I haven't tried a load test yet but did drive around in moderate wind on the highway in multiple directions. Other than a slight whistle at 70 mph, you'd never know they were there. Overall, real happy with the product and looking forward to hauling some stuff around with them. 248807
I am giving this product 1 star due to the difficulty I had with what is supposed to be a very simple installation. I have a 2016 ford edge with a panoramic moon roof. Because the entire roof is made of glass I wanted to be very careful. Thus I followed the instructions word for word. Which resulted in many issues. First the pads for the front rack as stated caused the rack to be a slope. This issue would be fixed by simply rotating the front right and front left pad with each other. I confirmed with an etrailer technician that they were misprinted and should be switched. Then based on the measure for both the front and back racks resulted in most of the pad to be sitting on the glass instead of the top lip of the car (non-glass hard surface of the car) I tighten based on this measurement and saw the glass start to bend on the corners so I decided to follow up as it did not seem correct. After reading several reviews and speaking with a technician he confirmed that it should not sit that way and I would need to adjust the measurement previously stated to a larger value such that the pad sits on the outer lip. This resulted it me adjusting, testing adjusting testing until I felt it was correct. Finally it was installed, sturdy, and looked great. Then another issue. When I am cruising through national parks enjoying the scenery I like have my windows downs and enjoy the fresh air. Well as it turns out when I cruise between 25 mph to 60 mph here is a loud whistling sound coming from the racks. The sounds appears to be coming from the wind that goes through the metal clamps and the car (there is about a 1 inch gap since these are semi-custom parts- and can actually be seen on pictures etrailer posted). This loud whistling is annoying especially when trying to enjoy the piece and quite nature has to offer. Thus I am not happy with this purchase. To be fair, the racks hold items well and feel sturdy enough to handle some abuse. But overall I am dissatisfied with this product. 671924

Easy to install but they only concern I had was the spec measurements need to be adjust to fit my car because following their specs left my hatch back hitting the carrier when up and even after the adjustment it still hits the rear tire of the bike but all in all I am very satisfied and am going to buy more products (wheel mount, weather tech wind deflectors). So happy saved tons than buying from bike shop or another online retailer. 483016

Bought this rack to carry canoe, etc. while towing our camper. Installation is easy with one person so long as you take your time to get the original setup meticulously correct. If you're planning to put it on only occasionally when you're using it, it's 10 to 15 minutes for one person to install once the original setup is done and the clamp points marked with the little unobtrusive stickers they send with the kit. Originally planned to put it on only when using because we only really need it a couple times a year (we just throw the canoe in the back for local trips). Looks good enough we might leave it on all the time. Even thought I didn't know I needed it until I was already at the store, it certainly came in handy bringing home a 10 foot long 2x8 on a rainy day when I needed to keep the bed cover closed. etrailer's service was prompt and flawless as always. 483657
Dan - 03/11/2019Rhino Rack 2500 series with Euro Bars for 2017 Chevrolet Spark - naked roof I purchased the Rhino Rack from etrailer and received it very quickly. The rack appears to be well made and very sturdy. It was the only roof rack I could find that would fit my Chevrolet Spark, it is probably not a car that people usually put roof racks on. I did run into a problem fitting them to my car. The instructions tell how long to cut plastic strips that fit into the bars and locate the towers at the right width on the bars to fit the roof. Having cut the strips and installed the towers I found that the towers were several inches too close together to fit the roof (the strips are actually marked in millimeters). I called Rhino Rack and the person there told me there was an error in the instructions and told me what lengths to use. He also agreed to mail me new strips. I then proceeded to locate the towers to the measurements that I was told to use, adding pieces of strip to achieve the new lengths, to check if that would fit. I found that to get the front rack to fit at the specified location, front to back, I had to shorten the strip on each side two millimeters and to get the back bar to fit at it's specified location I had to shorten the strips by six millimeters. With the towers now fitting I attached the clamps and found the rack to be solidly attached and should serve well for transporting my new kayak. I plan to replace the strips when I receive the new ones. One less star for the fitment issues. 553429

There was no whistling or any other distracting wind noise on our 3,500 mile drive to visit family out West. A Sear's Cargo Box was easily mounted to the Rhino Rack and it remained centered and secured at western highway speed limits plus. The included locks on the roof mounts were the selling point for me. The instructions were clear and the rack installed perfectly. I am impressed with the custom foot mouldings that match my car's contours exactly, and the rack is still as tight as when I installed it 4 weeks ago. I have been using it frequently to pick up 8' lumber for a large shelving project I have underway, and I hope to soon use it to carry my kayaks. The rubber strips on the top hold the lumber so securely I have no worry of having the load slip off the car. The two negatives I have are: (1) the crossbar end-caps consist of 2 locking and 2 slip-ons. I have come out to my car to see 1 of the slip-ons half slipped-off and I expect I will lose one or both of them in short order; and (2) the instructions should put the forward bar at least 1 inch further forward. As you will see in the photo, Rhino's guidelines result in the front bar being higher than the back bar, which results in additional wind pressure on the goods being carried. Finally, I would like to thank etrailer for shipping the product exactly as promised and also for packaging the entire order in an additional box as I requested. I used this rack to mount two 65lbs kayaks to my vehicle and travel. One of many trips was over a thousand miles (round trip) and they moved maybe half a centimeter a piece during. I was extremely pleased with how easily I could adjust them. The original shipment had everything that was supposed to be in it and the directions were realitively clear. I had them together and on in roughly an hour. When they are off the roof the only issue I have arises. The rubber feet that sit directly on the roof tend to fall off easily. Not a big deal. 357136
You have to order the cross bars and connector hardware separately. I also ordered the end cap locks. I consider myself a pretty good DYI person and it took longer than I expected according to other reviews on here to get everything installed and overlapping the same on both sides. Once installed the crossbars are very solid. I do get noticeable wind noise at say 70+MPH. I installed these on a 2020 Jeep GC Overland and they look and function great! Was a bit concerned about the sun roof retraction with the bars, but there is plenty of clearance. No issue. I for sure recommend the Rhino Rail crossbars. Etrailer is a great site to get the bars. My only qualm with these mounts is the included wrench is a precise torque wrench and uses a hollow design, so even if you had a standard torque wrench it couldn't be used on these pieces. The bars look and feel great. They have such a tough presence while still being aerodynamic. I love the look of the rubber grip strip on top and I like how the rubber strip on the bottom ends have graduations so you can easily match the overhang with the other side. They feel incredible strong, no bend in the them at all. If the platforms were a bit more robust this thing would outshine all the competition. The foot pads worked out at expected, for some reason I had trouble reading the instructions. I couldn't put my finger on it, but I just couldn't stay focused on what I was supposed to do. Overall, happy with the product. I found that every few days after long drives the roof clamps loosen slightly and need to be re-tightened, depending on your load. When first installing the roof clamps, one of the clamps had a small metal bur on the edge (manufacturing defect) which left a nice sized scratch in the roof. I just finished the install of the Rhino Rack 2500 with the Vortex Bars. It looks fantastic on my 2020 Silverado. It's solid and very well built. I'm a surfcaster on Long Island and I use 1 piece fishing rods up to 11ft long so the easiest and best way to transport them is on top of my vehicle. I selected this rack because it's aerodynamic and with the accessory channel I was able to easily attach them by sliding a 1inch stainless bolt and stainless washer in the channel. This hides the attachment and makes it impossible to remove unless you have the keys to access my rod rack which has a padlock. 883041

I decided on the 65” instead of the recommended 59” for my 2018 F250 Crew. Before I did I called etrailer to confirm that the crossbar would be ok using the custom DK Fit and Rhino Rack 2500 series legs. The guy confirmed and I placed the order. Everything does fit and quality is great but all I received was measurements using the 59” bar. Something is different between these two bars and etrailer couldn’t help me out. I figured it out myself and determined the bracket distance on the bar so it fit properly. Rhino Rack should offer the proper bracket measurements for all 3 Areo Crossbars ( 59, 65 and 72 ) as they pertain to Ford F-250 “17” and up. They all fit - as bracket is in the same spot on the truck. Great quality solid rack. I’d give 5 star if it wasn’t for this 865896

Bought this kit for my 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because the install instructions weren't clear. To be fair, I should have measured the fixed points on my car on my own rather than relying on the provided spreadsheets. It only took me between 5-10 minutes to make the neccessary adjustments as I was mounting the crossbars and was a pretty easy fix to make. Just frustrating in the heat. Also, when tightening the mounts to my car, I wasn't aware a wrench would be needed and didn't have any available. Had to buy a set, and none of them fit properly (bought in inches, should have gone metric I suppose?) Other than that, great product. Bought a kayak mount to put on and held it well for a 500+ mile trip. 9/10 would reccomend. 855770

This review covers the Rhino Rack 2500 Vortex Aero crossbars and associated parts (DK284, RRRLKVA, RRVA137S-2) for a naked roof installation on a 2018 Honda CR-V. Very solid racks. We just took our first trip using them and the didn't budge. As recommended, a few days after installing, I tightened the bolts a bit. I'm not sure they needed it--just a little insurance. The installation process was clear, but fairly detailed. It would be easy to miss a step, so take your time. Also, I tried a couple shortcuts in the order when installing on the car, but had to back track. So, go in the order they give you. The racks easily supported our filled "pod" and a couple surfboards, strapped side-by-side. Sorry, no photos of the rack loaded. One thing to watch out for is that our old Thule pod almost didn't fit because of the thickness of the racks. I had to loosen the bolts almost entirely. Of note: I feel that although I followed the measurements to the millimeter, the fit on our 2018 Honda CR-V wasn't exact. Where the pads sit on the roof of the car didn't align perfectly. I could have adjusted this by just re-trimming the rubber pads that go in the channels, but it's not a big deal, so I just left it. Finally, I do have one concern. The angle of final installation doesn't really protect the racks from theft very well. The plastic plate that locks over the screw would allow someone with the proper tool to get up under it and loosen the bolts. That being said, someone so inclined could also just break the little plastic door or drill a hole in it to access the bolt. So, I guess it's just a deterrent anyway. Overall, I'm very happy with the racks and etrailer.com! Despite shipping delays due to Covid-19, they were able to get the racks to me in time for an upcoming trip. I did choose to expedite shipping, but the cost was very reasonable. 852547

The kayaks have chis crossed the county twice on this rack. The only issue is the top rubber piece got a little deformed from the edge of the kayaks and now it does not sit in the aluminum channel perfectly. Installed on a 2014 Chevy Volt. So far I am unsure how the racks will affect the electric range on the car, however they look great, and produce minimal noise when driving up to 55 mph (I have not tested it at higher speeds). They were simple to put on, the instructions were easy enough (although I did find I had to add a few millimeters of spacing to make the racks fit correctly). Primary use will be a bike rack, although they will be used for skis and a canoe as well. I would recommend as an affordable option for a Volt, as there are not many options to begin with. One piece of advice: The feet can easily slip over the measuring strips, and at first this made me believe that the provided measurements were incorrect. Been wanting to get a roof rack for my small Honda H-RV suv for some time now. Finally decided to pull the trigger on one and opted for this Rhino rack system. Watching the etrailer install video and following the manufacturer's instruction, the front rack went on easily and perfectly. However, the rear track turned out to be a very long process. Why? Because I thought the manufacturer's measurements for the rear was an error. After the rack was assembled, it didn't seat into the roof channel at all. It appeared to be well short. So, I proceeded to use my mechanical ingenuity to get this rack to fit on my own. After a lengthy span of time and numerous adjustments, I'd come to realize that the manufacturer's measurements were correct. The footing did not sit perfectly until the unit was fully tightened against the vehicle. Live and learn.....once again. The rack is absolutely solid, and looks very clean and sharp on top of the H-RV. I could not detect any additional noise while driving, even at highway speed. The main purpose of this roof rack was for transporting my recreational kayak. I was not aware that these bars had a rubber strip running along the entire top of the bar. This turned out to be perfect for the kayak. Now, I didn't need to buy a specific kayak cradle. The kayak, one strapped down, is held absolutely secured to the rack. I beat the heck out of this rack on a Daily basis. I throw kayaks, luggage, several 16 and 20ft 2x6’s, plywood, camping gear, and anything else large and typically put into the bed of a truck. You wouldn’t believe me unless I showed you the kind of life my equipment has. It’s gotta be tough. I do wish that it had a better grip strength forward and backwards because unless the load is heavy and large enough, if a strap is used from front rack to back rack, the racks tend to slide towards eachother as it ratchets tighter. However if you run the strap across and hook the strap back onto the same bar, the way the rack flexes causes the grip to be immovable and is incredibly secure. But with no load, I can hammer fist the racks forward or back wards even when tightened down with the torque wrench. So I feel maybe some minor adjustments by the company would definitely solve this. All in all, yes it’s a bit on the higher price side, It’s got that one con (sliding), but has definitely exceeded it’s factory “max load” specification and structural integrity. Installation was relatively easy. Like others have mentioned here, make sure you pay attention to the instructions. Make sure the pads with arrows are pointing to the front of the car and you're relatively accurate with the suggested mounting measurements. I rode with them on the car for about 900 miles - hot and rainy weather - and they make a really weird noise. Haven't been able to confirm if the noise came from the wind rushing in between the roof and the bars, or, as my uncle thinks, from the slot spaces under the bars that hold the 4 mounts. I later attached a Leader Accessories Upgraded Roof Rack (64"x 39"x 5') carrier basket to the top of the rails and the noise went away. The carrier has a wind deflector in the front, go figure. I drove another 1000 miles with the rails and carrier with some stuff in it and it handled very well. In any case, I like the way they look on our 2016 Honda CRV SE. Admittedly, I'm scared to take the mounts off to see if they leave a dent or scratch. I'm pretty sure they will, but still happy with them. I'll try and update this review after I remove them. 711503

I bought the roof rack to carry kayaks back and forth from Pennsylvania to Florida. The rack is solid and performs that task very well. My plan was to take the rack off and on but I decided to just leave it on. I do notice some wind noise since I've added the rack but it does not distract me and I would say that it is not excessive but it is noticeable. I did have problems during the installation. I mounted the racks on a Ford 250 super duty. And the instructions were very clear as to where the feet that's support the rack where to be installed. Plastic strips are cut and the feet that support the rack on the roof push up to the cut plastic strips and that is what determines placement. I read the instructions several times and had seen an installation on another truck owned by a friend of mine. When I pushed the feet to the proper position I could not attached the clamps from the rack feet to the rain gutter on the truck which holds the whole assembly on the roof. They were too short. I spoke to Etrailer and a consensus was that I had cut the strips correctly. Etrailer's input of course was over the phone and they could not actually see or measure anything that I did. Nevertheless, in order to install the rack I had to move the feet on each side a bit closer to the rain gutter on the truck. I did not think that this would make any difference and based on the performance I have not noticed any problems. I would have given this product and excellent rating if I did not have to deal with the little problem that I had with the fit. As I said I have not taken it off the roof and I reach up and check it now and then and it's as solid as the day I put it on. 706966

DO NOT buy this roof rack. It will rip off of your car while you drive on the highway, leaving you with $900 worth of damages to your car. This summer I got a 2018 Hyundai Santa Fe Sport, which came without a factory installed roof rack. I inquired if the dealership could put one on for me, as I go camping every year and take kayaks on a 6 hour trip to the Adirondacks . They told me this specific car could not have a roof rack from the dealership, I’m assuming because it would have needed to be installed before the airbags were put into place along the roof line. The dealership directed me to look online for third party options and get a roof rack through that avenue. After doing significant research, my fiance and I decided on this brand. We installed it exactly how the directions indicated, spending nearly two hours with a measuring tape checking & rechecking to ensure the proper fit. We drove with the empty roof rack on the car for two weeks, making sure it was sturdy and wouldn’t come loose from the car. No issues were noted and we were pleased that it didn’t create too much humming or buzzing noises when driving at highway speeds. Before we left, we re-tightened each piece to the specifications mentioned (included plastic tool becoming straight) since it had been on the car for a while before we added the weight of the kayaks. We made it 4.5 hours out of 6 before the roof rack ripped off the car and sent both kayaks into the middle of the highway while we were driving nearly 70mph. My fiance and I had to pull to the shoulder and run into the highway to get the pieces of roof rack and haul the kayaks out of the path of oncoming traffic. Luckily the boats did not hit any other cars and did not cause an accident, although this could have easily happened. The boats were still attached to the roof rack with our straps and hooks, but the entire roof rack ripped off, causing paint chips and dents in multiple places along the roof of the car. The two opinions from the body shops I’ve taken the car to estimate the damage at $900. I will NEVER use a third party roof rack again and will tell everyone I know to NOT buy this product. This could have caused multiple accidents and injured many people! 697654

The instructions came the the measurements in centimeters and inches. I didn't have a metric tape measure, and ended up messing up converting fractions to decimal. My Daughter is going to college 500 miles away and is moving into an unfurnished apartment and needed to pick up some small furniture that wouldn't fit in her Malibu. She purchased several items from Facebook Marketplace and was able to transport a twin bed and mattress, a medium sized desk and some dining room chairs (in several trips) with no problems. Ordered the following for my 2016 Chevy Silverado: 1 Rhino-rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - 59 - Silver - Qty 2 1 Rhino-rack 2500 Leg Kit For Vortex Aero Crossbars - Qty 4 1 Dk Fit Kit For Rhino Rack 2500 Series Legs - Naked - Qty 4 Received the order from etrailer and upon opening the crossbar package I noticed that the rubber inserts were not in the box. e-mailed customer service and Carol C responded within an hour and said she would have them sent out within 24 hours. About 30 minutes later, Carol called me as she was getting the order ready to ship and said that the Rhino racks typically put the rubber inserts inside the bars and not in the box. She waited on the line while I checked and sure enough she was right. Installation instructions were good but I recommend watching the installation video on youtube that makes the directions easier to work with. Fitment was perfect. And these are fit to my truck so reinstallation is a breeze especially with the small marker arrows for alignment. (unlike my old thules with the crossbars that had to be remeasured every installation) They also hold my thule kayak racks and my bike racks. First a big thanks to the Support Team! One of the Vortex Strips that ship inside of the load bars was wedged in there when I received them, and on top of that, not enough of the strips were provided to cover the entire length of the load bars. the etrailer team got them for me from Rhino-Rack and sent them out to me ASAP. Installation was fairly simple. I highly recommend watching the installation video on YouTube in addition to reading the instructions. The instructions are well written, but watching someone else do it made it super easy to understand. Installation took me roughly 1 1/2 hours, mostly because I didn't watch the video until i was about 3/4 of the way done. The racks are very sturdy and make no noticeable wind noise! Grabbing the towers and trying to move or shake them, I am actually moving the car, not the racks. I haven't strapped anything up yet, but I have full confidence that these racks can handle my needs (3 kayaks tied to a stacker system). 679907

Got a MDX A-Spec and didn't want to put on the factory side rails and cross bars because it diminishes the sporty look. This rhino rack is a great solution for me because i can put these cross bars on for the top box and bike rack but can easily take it off to get back to the original sleek look. But the tool that comes with the rack is made in such a way that it shows when enough torque is being applied. Still, one never knows until the load is secured on the rack and taken for a ride. I've had this product for a year now, I got an email asking to write a review. I've had no problems with this product other than an annoying whistle from the channels, not sure if it was supposed to come with something to fill these or what but it's obnoxious. Functionally they're excellent, I have a cage I put on them for camping and two sets of kayak attachments for day trips in the Puget Sound. When I originally purchased these They sent be the wrong attachment for my car and I had to send it back, but all things considered it was barely an inconvenience, something I forgot about until now writing the review. The bars are solid, and the attachments haven't done any damage to my paint and have stayed solid for a year now. So if you are putting it on a newer vehicle you have to just kind of wing it or find the proper measurements elsewhere, which is a bit time consuming but definitely worth it. Very happy with the results. Rhino Rack would not confirm a fit for my 2019 Chevy Equinox LT. The installation instructions listed cutting the front measuring strips at 120 mm for the front crossbar for the Euro bar. This left my legs a good six inches too narrow to span my roof. Easy to assemble and install. My only issue so far is that they definitely whistle more than I expected. I suspect this has to do with my vehicle (2013 Audi Q7), as the tone and loudness decreases when off the accelerator/braking. I think the back-slanting roofline of the Q7 expose more of the underside of the rails, leading to more whistle. When braking or cruising, the whistle is quieter/gone. Hopefully that dies down some when the basket is installed and there is gear/luggage in it, therefore decreasing the amount of airflow past the rails. 614779

Also there is a hollow area under the rack that needs to be blocked by the little plastic strips with etched measurements. It seems that it is optional to put these, but if the cavity is not blocked the racks will make an awful whistling tone when going over 40 MPH. Once the plastic strips were installed and the hollow area under the rack was sealed the whistling sound went away. The "broadband" noise produced by these is comparable to my Whispbars... and the racks look really good in my vehicle. 612955

Fairly easy to install onto my 2017 Honda CR-V. The crossbars feel very sturdy and are securely attached to the vehicle. Took me about 30 minutes to get it installed and could be done even quicker if you get help from another person. The bars themselves are a little fat so my Thule ski rack has a super tight fit. There is very minimal wind noise, so I'll probably be getting a fairing for that. The instructions felt a bit jumbled but with just the measurements alone, you can install it with a bit of common sense. 590931

I installed the rack on a 2018 F150 SuperCab. These racks are really nice medium load racks, well built and easy to install. If I followed the instructions the pads on the front cross bar would not sit down in the drip channels. I narrowed the front leg locations by 5mm per side or a total of 10mm or approximately .4". I sent the pics to Rhino Racks Engineering Department but have not heard back to see if they liked my fix. I like it! I recommend getting Rhino Racks approval before making these mods but that's what it took for mine to fit. 564568

I have attached pics of the rack attached to a 2014 F-350. I went with the 65” crossbars and they worked great! This gives me enough room to lay two kayaks flat on the bars. I bought this roof rack for my kayak. Previously, I was just using ratchet straps through the car. I finally got fed up because when it would rain the water would drain in through the straps into the car. I looked a long time and did a lot of research. I just received the roof racks and installed it same day. I have yet to put it to use with hauling stuff around and that is why i'm giving it a four star. I will upgrade to a five star once I start hauling items. So far the item is as expected. Like how the product "fits" the roof line - it sits in the line between the roof seam and the door jam frame. We thought we followed the directions but did notice we had 2 of the foot pads backwards. It worked well with 2 "man" operation. Take your time and follow the directions. I like the small marker stickers to help if you take the racks off - which I will do during the winter time. I think a "second" wrench would be beneficial to allow for one person to be on each side to tighten down evenly. So far so good. The Aero 2500 racks went on in a couple of hours as I was not in a rush, wanted to do it properly and understand all I needed to to remove and reinstall these in the future. I did manage to get the Rhinorack logo facing backward on the front and forward on the back. Sorry, didn’t intend to but I’m not going to reverse them at this point. Last minute purchase of bars and basket - excellent pick! etrailer came through with expedited delivery and the install was just per the instructions. It can be tricky but the paperwork was complete, the descriptions accurate and no pieces left over; always a plus. The rack and basket are VERY sturdy, it is all very well made; my only concern would be the L-shaped clamps that hook to the door frame. I got the product a little later than expected and came in a huge box that ended up moving the product around a little. It is all metal though so it was mostly still in very good condition. (little scratches here and there) Took me a while to figure out the pads due to the instructions being different from the actual product but very simple in general. Where do I start? I've been whitewater kayaking for 22 or so years now. I've always used used either Yakima or Thule products... Until I bought a 2015 Nissan Rogue with a naked roof. The curvature of the roof and large door jams mean that Yakima and Thule can't make racks for them. I went to a place that does custom installs and again because of the curvature of the roof, they couldn't give me a rack. This meant no kayaking which is really bad news. Enter the Rhino rack system. I purchased the feet, the fit kit, the cross bars and a Yakima "big stack" stacker. The first issue I had is the reccomended size for the Nissan Rogue is only 48 inches. Way too small too haul 4-5 (very light) whitewater kayaks. I called etrailer and they were SUPER helpful, told me I can buy the 65 in cross bars and they'll work fine. I held my breath and placed my order. I was nervous leaving my trusted name brands. The order arrived super fast (they told me it would arrive by Friday but it actually arrived on Thursday) and everything was packaged rock solid. I was impressed. I read the instructions and put the rack system on my car. It took about a hour (it was hot and I worked slowly) but the rack system is SUPER SOLID. I love it. Rhino might have a "forever" customer out of me. -The rack system is very stable. I can't move it with my hands by pushing or pulling. -The rubber stripping you put on the top and bottom of the bar is an awesome added feature AND it reduces wind noise. -Adding the fairing reduced wind noise even further. With four boats on the roof you couldn't hear any extra noise. The ONE thing I dislike is that you need to use the supplied Allen wrench to take the rack on and off the car. It's a small complaint, but other systems I've used in the past don't have them. I paid much less for this system than I would have if I purchased one of the aforementioned systems, but I'm really really satisfied with the product. We will see how well it holds up over long-term use, but it looks awesome! 409340

My Rhino-Rack Aero 2500 roof racks fit solidly on my 2007 Honda Civic EX. I was really impressed with the construction and strength of the rack system. Also the versatility of the 'legs' with a swivel pad allow them to fit any roof pitch perfectly. The clamps are so solid, nothing could knock these racks off. I purchased these for my wife's 2014 Cherokee Trail Hawk along with the legs. etrailer.com sent everything I ordered very quickly. This was a nice surprise. After watching the install video, I was ready to go. These rails are very easy to install. The only thing I didn't like was having to put the rubberized Vortex strips in. We'll start with the good. The racks look great once installed and are very durable like I expect from Rhino Rack. There are a few thing I have noticed with the quality of materials and the design of the roof racks. First off, I have noticed a reduction in the quality of the hardware. Once you get the mounting points secured, which was relatively easily, they ask you to secure the legs with 1 security screw per leg. Not only does the screw not turn more that 2 turns without stopping, the included security hex wrench is small and fails to turn the screws without stripping. I have found since they don't quite fit, I had to WD-40 the screw and the hole, and the use pliers to grab the head of the screw and work it in there. Once you are able to bore the hole out that way, you can back it out quite easily, and the you can use the included wrench to install. I thought the hardware and Allen wrench device they included with their roof racks several years ago were much higher quality and easier to work with. I also thought paying nearly $400 for these racks would justify high quality materials and tools, but I suppose Rhino Rack is cutting corners as well. The L shaped torx wrench they provide does a poor job of gripping the screw and is nearly worthless, because of the fact that the screws do not fit in the holes without other tools. Also, a small thing that has been mentioned before on this site, the plastic locking caps are not the highest security measure, but I see you can upgrade to metal end caps for more money. I feel this should be included for this price point. I believe this may be my last set of Rhino Racks because I just see their quality going the wrong direction. 372788

Very easy to install with the mounts. Look very good on my '14 Jeep Cherokee Trailhawk. Feel very sturdy and think they will be great for hauling my kayaks and more. The lock on one end cap broke easily but doesn't hurt the function on the crossbar. End cap will stay on just can't be locked now. Will probably upgrade to a more sturdy end cap later on. 353008

Kevin R - 05/04/2018I followed install instructions very closely, pretty straight forward, but you have to ensure you measure twice and cut once. Not a complicated install but how well you do it determines the performance of the rack. Test drive showed it to be very quiet at city and high way speeds. A paper tape measure should be included with install kit, who has anything in the USA the measures millimeters or 32nds of an inch. Would definitely recommend product, feel it is sturdy and durable. Will meet my needs to carry RV equipment and a canoe if needed. 355280

Customer service help was not necessary in this case to choose the best product for my vehicle and needs, but has been a painless process for other needs in the past. Etrailer.com is my go-to for aftermarket cargo hardware needs. As always, however, the manufacturer (not etrailer.com) provides marginal instructions. In spite of that, initial assembly and installation on my wife's 2016 Escape took about an hour, and it looks like the rack will do a great job for us on family trips. I anticipate removal or reinstall Atkin in the future to take less than 15 minutes for one person. 334672

Bought these roof rails for movement of oversize items from Maryland to Florida and back to Georgia. Wind noise was minimal and the width of the rails provided a stable footing for the overhead bin attachment. I recommend these aero rails over non-aero designs if you will be driving for any significant length of time. (I also own non-aero rails so I know and appreciate the difference.) 328370
I bought the Rhino-Rack for my 2014 KIA Soul "with a sun roof" and my wife and I installed it in about a half hour. it was soo easy and fits like it was manufactured just for my car. Everything I saw said that it was not for cars for the sun roofs but i measured and checked several friends before I ordered and bought and there looks to be no problems. The rack looks good on the car. Once the rack is installed and the included decals in place it only takes a few minutes to remove it and reinstall. This is important for me because we will only use the racks to transport our kayaks the rest of the time they will be removed and stored. There are two small items that can be improved. First the legs are different lengths yet nowhere in the instructions does it tell you where each size goes. Second I own 10 tape measure and not one of them is in meters and I do not care how good your eyesight is you are not going to be able to measure to 53/64". If the measurements are critical you should ensure customers in the US have measurements they can use or include a MM tape measure. I really like these rails but they are a bit of a PIA to slide the rubber pieces into. I sprayed the rubber with dry silicone first and that helped. Some people complain of wind noise in reviews of these, you are mounting a structure cross-ways on top of a vehicle- THERE WILL BE SOME SOUND... smh. I purchased this rack for a "new to me" Honda CRV. I chose it for three reasons: the design is supposed to minimize wind noise, it is rated for a significantly higher load weight than many others, and the price was very reasonable. It also happens to be very nice looking. Assembly was pretty straight forward. I assembled the two units on the dining room table in about 45 minutes. It could be done much more quickly but I think it's good to take your time and read the instructions carefully. Mounting on the car roof was quick - about 15 minutes. Some reviewers complained that only two crossbar end caps locked. That was not the case with mine. All four locked into place I haven't driven the car on the highway yet, but there was no added noise driving around town. The Rhino-Rack was shipped the next day and was received in under 4 days to my door. The E-trailer packaging was sufficient but the OEM packaging on the rails were all beat up and actually one of them appears to have been opened and possibly returned. It was missing the key for the end caps and 2 of the upper rail strips as well as had some nicks and gouges in the rail itself (appeared used).....I would have tried to return for a new one but I needed it the next day so I had to go ahead and use it against my better judgment. The install was pretty straight forward. The first assembly took me about 30-45 minutes to assemble and mount to the vehicle. The second went much quicker after learning on the first and only took about 15 minutes. The parts quality is very good. I would say it is on par with Thule and Yakima without question. The rack is very secure when mounted. I have this mounted on a 2015 Ram 2500 (8,300lbs) and was able to rock the entire truck side to side by the rails wit zero movement in the rails or legs. I have not been able to use the rack yet but purchased it primarily for hauling 2 kayaks when we go RVing. I will give a follow up review after I have used them. 237049
