Aerodynamic, aluminum crossbars let you build an aftermarket roof rack for your vehicle. Full-length bars provide plenty of space for carriers and accessories. Vortex strips in C-channels reduce wind noise. Theft-deterring plastic locks included.

Specs:
These low-profile, aerodynamic Vortex Aero crossbars let you build a stylish aftermarket roof rack from scratch. The crossbars require 4 Rhino-Rack legs (manufactured in 2014 or later) and a custom fit kit to mount it to your roof. Each bar extends past the roof rack legs to maximize the space for mounting carriers and accessories. Rubberized Vortex strips in each crossbar's top channel disrupt airflow for a quiet ride, and the bars are constructed of aluminum so they won't rust. The crossbars also include Secure Core endcaps with plastic locks to help deter theft of channel-mounted accessories.
The rubberized Vortex strips in the top channel of each crossbar disrupt airflow with evenly spaced, wave-shaped grooves. This carefully controlled turbulence minimizes wind noise and whistling, so you won't need to add a fairing to your roof rack. And the slim, elliptical Vortex Aero crossbars cut through the air with minimal drag - even at highway speeds.
The Vortex Aero crossbars are made of structural-grade anodized aluminum with H-shaped internal extrusions. These extrusions strengthen the bars without adding a significant amount of weight. And the aluminum bars won't rust so you can leave them on your roof year-round.
Each crossbar has a channel in the bottom for mounting to Rhino-Rack roof rack legs (sold separately). Each end of the channel includes a rubber ruler to help you center the bar on your roof. Simply use the numbers and hash marks on the rulers to ensure the legs are spaced properly in the channel.
Each Vortex Aero crossbar has a built-in C-channel so you can carry channel-mounted accessories such as bike racks, watersport carriers, and ski racks. The Vortex strips in the top channels come in 3 pieces, so they're easier to adjust than a single long, continuous strip. You can remove, trim, and re-insert the Vortex strips around the mounting hardware of your accessories to keep the crossbar channel capped and quiet. Replacement strips (sold separately) are also available if you remove your accessories or switch to clamp-on accessories.
You can also attach most clamp-on accessories to the bars, and the Vortex strips provide a shock-absorbing, no-slip cushion for any accessories that rest on them.
Each crossbar includes 2 Secure Core locking endcaps made of durable polypropylene. These endcaps lock with a universal tubular key. The polypropylene locks secure the endcaps to the crossbars and help to secure channel-mounted accessories to the crossbars. For maximum security, you can upgrade to endcaps with all-metal lock cores (RRVA-LEC4 - sold separately).
4 Low-profile legs allow you to mount 2 Rhino-Rack crossbars or a Pioneer platform safely and securely to your vehicle with fixed mounting points. Locking covers secure roof rack legs to your vehicle.

They were well packaged and their quality is quite evident. I did struggle a little following the assembly instructions but with some patience and watching a video it went well. Two items to be aware of. The front and rear leg clamps are of different lengths with the longer clamps going on the rear crossbar. The other issue was positioning the crossbars. After following the measurements for attaching the legs to the crossbars it was quite clear that the measurement for the rear crossbar was wrong. Placing the legs as instructed didn't allow the rear crossbars to be the 29 17/32 inches from the front crossbar but required me to move it back to 31 1/2 inches. There is a very faint whistle while driving around 30 to 35 mph but it's not annoying. I was so pleased with the fit and finish I went ahead and purchased the Rhino Rack S-loader to make it easier for me to lift my kayak onto the crossbars. I would definitely recommend both items.
This roof rack works great! At first I was skeptical about putting a rack on my IS250, but it couldn't have turned out better. Paired with the Yakima Highroad, I can easily transport my bikes around without worrying about anything coming loose while driving. The installation instructions for the legs and bars are pretty straightforward. Takes about 30-45 minutes total to install.
Exactly what I needed to replace the factory cross bars to make it easier to take off my roof top tent. Easy to install and secured nicely to the factory rails.
All parts arrived on time and undamaged, and installation was pretty straightforward and easy.
Choosing a system for transporting my new (to me, they're actually used) kayaks was TOUGH. I love my little 2017 Honda Fit, and I knew I would love my new kayaks when I got them. I don't want anything bad to happen to either! Also, my car is small and the kayaks are fairly large, comparatively. I've strapped a lot of things to a lot of vehicles, but this is going to be a long term relationship, so I wanted to get it right the first time.
I've been researching and reading reviews for months, but I got confirmation that the kayaks were ready for pickup, so I needed to make a decision! I ultimately pulled the trigger on the Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars with the 2500 Series Legs and Custom DK Fit Kit for my naked roof car and the Rhino-Rack Nautic Stack Kayak Carrier w/ Tie-Downs.
I placed my order on 09/15/21 at 6 PM. The estimated delivery date was 09/23/21, which made me a little sad. I really wanted to pick up my boats on Sunday, 09/19/21, but I figured I'd waited THIS long, I could probably handle waiting another week. I was very pleasantly surprised to receive an email at 8 PM the same evening notifying me that my order had shipped. AND, even better, the UPS tracking was showing delivery on 09/18/21 by 7PM! I was beyond excited, but didn't get my hopes up because shipping has been pretty hit or miss since well before the start of the COVID-19 pandemic. However, UPS delivered my package just before noon on Saturday, which was amazing!
I got everything unpacked and reviewed to ensure that I had all I would need to assemble the system - check. Nothing missing, which is always an auspicious start. Then I started reading the instructions - UGH. This is (so far) the ONLY thing I have to complain about. I have put together IKEA furniture that had clearer instructions. I probably should have gone to Google to find a YouTube video, but I powered through with the instructions provided. Since I've never put together or used a roof rack before, I didn't really know what the final outcome should look like, so that made interpreting the instructions very difficult - the pictures were not super clear, and the accompanying text did not improve the situation. Now that I know what it looks like assembled, I get it, but at the time it was rough. I estimated it took me about 2 hours to get the rack assembled and secured to my car, and towards the end my fiancé arrived and helped me to realize that the foot pads were not properly attached to the feet, which made a huge difference! The kayak carrier was much easier to install, taking maybe 15 additional minutes.
The foot pads rest in the groove on the edge of the roof, I assume over the frame of the car. There's absolutely no flex in the roof where the feet sit. The hook part of the clamp rests against the metal of the car, under the rubber seal, so I don't foresee any potential issues with the seal as a result of the rack. The doors close as normal, and the rack has no movement whatsoever once tightened down. I've now used it as a handle to pull myself up towards the roof a few times (I'm about 190 lbs), and I feel totally confident that it's not going anywhere. I now have ideas about how to use the rack to haul around the larger stuff that won't fit INSIDE my car (which isn't much - I HIGHLY recommend this car!).
So, the big question - how'd it go with the kayaks?
In short - perfection! I was slightly concerned about the boats overhanging the front or back of my car, as they're 12.5 ft long and my car is just over 13 ft long. Eeeeek! I needn't have worried. They fit like a dream, and even without bow or stern tie downs were very secure during our trip home. We took local roads instead of the highway because we didn't tie down the bow and stern, so we probably didn't go over 40 ish MPH, but I saw absolutely no lift (I can see the ends of the boats out of the front windshield). I will be using those tie downs in the future, and anticipate no issues with highway speeds under those conditions.
Obviously, only time will tell how everything holds up/works out, but at this stage, I am extremely pleased with my decision and am looking forward to many kayaking adventures to come! I only have one picture at this point, but may take a few more and add them so anyone else considering a similar setup knows what they'll be getting.
Love the bars, I had gotten the other rack parts from different suppliers. I love the look and sleek design of the Rhino Rack. I did the 2500 vortex on a 2016 Subaru Impreza sedan and it fits great and looks even better.
Not totally quiet but better than some others! They have a nice rubber strip down the middle that act as a cushion and grip so the kayaks don’t immediately slide off when you remove the straps. Great quality as well!
I purchased the full set of cross bars, legs, end caps, kayak carrier, and antenna mount for my 2019 Grand Cherokee. I am pleased. These products are by far one of the best after market items you get. The quality is top shelf. Thank you etrailer for carrying these products from Rhino Rack.
Good Service. These were purchased as lower profile legs for Aero bars or a platform. They fit backbone roof castings by trimming the small tabs, sanding the base flat and crafting rubber gaskets.
Oh ya. awesome low profile rack. Making it look real nice, just order a wind fairing to lower the wind noises.
This was a great option for our 2013 Toyota Corolla! Install was fairly easy, some directions could be made a little clearer but overall was easy and the rack has stayed on firm and secure since install over a month ago.
I had tried to buy OEM Cross Bars for my '21 Cadillac XT6, but no one had them, and it looked like a long term problem of availability from Cadillac. So- after ordering and receiving some cheap bars that the ad on (that auction site) said were a "perfect fit", and finding them to be 1/2" short of reaching between the rails, then returning them for credit (but not for the shipping!), I contacted etrailer.
I have a Thule Cargo Box that I bought from them in 2016. I use this for one long trip (1900 miles each way, every year.)
Kaylyn at etrailer researched quite extensively for cross bars that would meet my needs: strong, nice appearance and above all quiet! She got back to me a day later, recommending Rhino Rack Aero Bars, and the attachments as being the best available. She cautioned me that (like any aftermarket bars) they would not be as quiet as OEM flush fit bars. I value honesty.
I installed them, and found the kit to be very complete. See the pictures- it looks great as far as I am concerned. And they are virtually silent at up to 70 MPH (I'll try them faster when we leave!). One caution: do not forget the plastic "Measuring Strips"- they are IN the bars, and are marked for measuring. But the real purpose is to seal the BOTTOM of the cross bars to eliminate "loud whistling"- ask how I know.
First off, ordering and delivery couldn’t have been simpler. The flaps on one end of the box were open but luckily it was on the packing paper end of the box so nothing was lost.
As for installation, I’m a computer guy and while I can get a job done with instructions, it normally takes me well longer than estimated. Not true with this rack... after an initial read through of the instructions it took less than 35 minutes to get it installed by myself.
My ‘21 Toyota C-HR has drill outs for the feet to connect to so no measuring front/back was required which I believe saved a ton of time.
Overall I couldn’t be happier... I head out to pick up m,y kayak next week for the maiden haul!
These racks are great. I looked at so many and finally decided to go with these and very glad I did. The quality is great, not hard to put together, and not too loud. Although, sunroof open would cause bugs to fly in after bouncing off these so don’t do that.
All parts arrived on time and undamaged, and installation was pretty straightforward and easy.
Great rack except for the annoying wind noise. Any ideas as to how to fix or at least reduce the wind noise?
Great products - Ordered an Ext Transmission cooler for my 2007 Altima, and the Rhino Roof Rack with assoc parts. Your web site and service is outsanding and much appreciated. Thank you.
Easy to install on Mazda CX-5-used a measuring tape, utility knife, small wrench, and flat screw driver (taped end to remove roof weather strip) . A second set of hands was helpful as well. I did have to drill a hole into the weather strip so that it fits over the attachment bolt.
My first time installing a roof rack. It’s light weight and doesn’t create a lot of wind noise. The bars themselves have a weatherstrip you install which I’d rather was not the case due to Human error-longevity of weather seal. I’ll be using it to transport a kayak. We’ll see how long this holds up.
All good. The whole transaction was quick and smooth. Rhino Racks are a quality product.
The Rhino rack system we bought has worked perfectly for our Subaru Crosstrek. We purchased it to support a rooftop tent, and it was incredibly easy to install, is very sturdy, and noiseless with or without the tent.
Installed the Rhinorack system on my 2018 Honda HR-V to replace my Thule Evo system which would whistle at 50mph+. Installation was very straight forward with easy to follow instructions. Rack fit great, feels solid and no whistling or wind noise at highway speed! Highly recommend!
Salvaged old Rhino Aerobars with new Rhino roof kit from eTrailer. They have everything! Thanks eTrailer!
Great sturdy product. I only have two complaints and one minor thing:
1. These whistle. A lot. They do come with rubber inserts that slide into the top and bottom parts of the rail that help substantially with the whistling, but just be aware that if you have other things that mount to the rail and it doesn't line up, that you could be dealing with that whistling.
2. Mounting the rails to the feet is a pain with the included allen wrench. It doesn't need to be a security allen wrench, so I used a longer one that I had on hand and it made installing it easier. You do have to tighten the allen completely blind and spin it next to your roof, so just be careful if you opt to go with the longer allen wrench.
3. This is minor-- but the instructions said that the bolt that goes through the foot into the mounting hardware onto the roof was also an allen, but it ended up being a hex bolt. Once I figured it out it wasn't a big deal because I have my own tools to install the bolt, but if you buy this set with the RCP48-BK mounting hardware be aware that you'll need a 10mm socket or wrench. There also wasn't any instructions for what the torque spec needs to be, but I found online
Can't say yet...the OEM roof rail bolt broke off when tightening the M6 bolt. A warning not to overtighten the bolt would be handy for end users. Thanks!
I had to replace the Thule rack on my 2019 Santa Fe to mount a roof top tent. I like the Thule it's a good rack system and it's quiet, but as it turns out the weight capacity was too limiting. I switched to a Rhino rack.
The Rhino rack kit was super easy to install. I was surprised it was much simpler than the Thule. The Rhino rack is rated at 165 lbs, which is an additional 45 lbs of weight capacity. I went with the solid black instead of the aluminum. It looks better on my Santa Fe. The Rhino rack is a little nosier than the Thule, but I should be able to correct it myself by covering the exposed channels.
There's one lesson learned I'd like to pass along. When you see a Roof Rack advertised on any website (including the manufacturer's)pay close attention to the total load capacity. You'll often see the limit for the cross-bars used as the weight capacity. However, if the mounting kit has a lesser load rating that's the total load capacity. For example: the Thule cross-bars were rated at 220 lbs but the mounting kit was rated at 120 lbs. (net 120 lbs capacity) The Rhino cross-bar is rated at 225 lbs and the mounting kit is rated at 165lbs (net capacity 165 lbs).
Either way you go, you can't beat etrailer for customer service before and after the sale.
Great bars - very quiet, solidly built, and nice looking. I put these on my Mercedes E350 Wagon. I can fit 4 bikes or a narrow Thule box and 2 bicycles (with pedals removed). Definitely would recommend Rhino Rack.
When we made our Chevy Equinox into our RV towed car we quickly found out we needed help from etrailer.com. From ebrakes and a baseplate to the tow bar and naked rook Rhino roof rack they were great to work with. I did all of the installation and most of it was easy. Some of it was harder so we relied on etrailer's great videos for things like installing the brake system and base plate. Everything is working great so kudos to etrailer!
I am getting a bit of whistling at around 15-20 mph, but it doesn't happen all the time and can only hear it if sunroof is open. Do not notice any additional noise compared to no roof rack if my sunroof is closed, even if windows are open. Feels very strong once installed and install is pretty straightforward. Still feel it deserves 5 stars as I believe some noise is expected.
Purchased these bars for my 2017 VW Tiguan because they had the highest load rating. I hope to carry a Tepui Car Top tent on these, and they should be able to handle the load just fine since they are very well built.
This pair of Rhino Rack Vortex Aero crossbars are great quality - solid and fairly easy to install. Some people question why the top-fitting rubber strips are in 3 sections rather than solid; now that I've installed the crossbars and attached a kayak carrier, I have one explanation. When installing a carrier that screws onto the top of these bars, it's much easier to trim and get a close fit while working with 3 shorter strips rather than one long one. After trimming for a top, screw-mounted carrier, you'd have 3 pieces anyway. Great job Rhino Rack & etrailer rep for the help!
I recently purchased the Rhino rack below with these boat supports:
Rhino-Rack Nautic 581 Rear Loading Kayak Carrier - Saddle Style - Rear Loading - Channel Mount
Item # RR581
Also, I attached a Yakima Jaylow kayak carrier, all to a 2019 Toyota Highlander Hybrid.
On the 54 inch aero bars, I was able to carry a Hobie Compass Duo kayak (35" beam, carried flat on the Rhino pads) and West Marine Pompano 120 (28" beam, propped up as shown on the Jaylow racks). To have enough width, the Jaylows and the Rhino pads are mounted as far out as they can go, and the straps are looped back under the rack pillars on the car.
The bow and stern were secured with hood loops on each side (front diagonal straps on the Hobie), on the front placed under the hood where shown (this is the only place I could find a good metal-metal contact under the hood, and no electronics in the way), and in the back, tucked under the rear door.
We did a 500 mile round trip to the beach and back, with no problems at all with the mounts. Little noise, no movement. My only recommendation is to figure out some kind of load assist for the large tandem kayak, to make it easier if one of the folks loading is under 5'8" in height or so. We worked it out, but only after a few failed attempts (especially when the boat is wet, and loaders are tired).
Carol C at etrailer provided thoughtful, expert, and knowledgeable tech support for our purchase. Many thanks!
Locks work very well. As advertised. Once the cross rails are installed these are easy to add at the end caps of the cross rails.
Its been one year since I installed the Rhino Rack crossbars and I have absolutely no issues. The main use is to carry my Kayaks on my 2013 Subaru Impreza utilizing Yakima JayLow kayak carriers. The only caveat is to be sure to properly cut and install the plastic channel inserts (underside) or you will experience an annoying whistling sound. If you're looking for high quality crossbars, I highly recommend these.
Very easy to setup and put together. My experience as a first time buyer from etrailer was perfect a bit expensive but you get what you pay for. I will definitely be shopping from yall throughout the years. Thank you, also thank you for making videos it made the process so much easier.
Was very disappointed to see that a box of parts had opened and spilled out which didn’t make it to my house all because the box wasn’t taped closed
This set up was absolutely perfect for my 2017.5 Jeep Compass MP!
Quick and easy to install for someone without pre existing roof rails
Package arrived fast, in perfect condition, with detailed instructions and with tracking updates on my order. Took me 2 1/2 hrs to assemble and mount and was worth it !!
Very nice. Purchased these crossbars and associated parts to attach to an ARE cap on a 2015 Tacoma. Looks great, fits well (had to file track nuts a bit to fit into the pre-installed tracks on the cap), but all in all very pleased with the results. etrailer staff very helpful in lining up the necessary parts.
Installed on a 2014 Chevy Volt. So far I am unsure how the racks will affect the electric range on the car, however they look great, and produce minimal noise when driving up to 55 mph (I have not tested it at higher speeds). They were simple to put on, the instructions were easy enough (although I did find I had to add a few millimeters of spacing to make the racks fit correctly). Primary use will be a bike rack, although they will be used for skis and a canoe as well. I would recommend as an affordable option for a Volt, as there are not many options to begin with.
One piece of advice: The feet can easily slip over the measuring strips, and at first this made me believe that the provided measurements were incorrect. Make sure that the feet and the strips do not overlap.
There were no instructions for these but the instructions for the bases told how they were to be installed. These bars are heavy duty and well made. They come with three rubber "vortex" strips that get installed on the top (designed to smooth the air flowing over them) and two plastic measuring strips (to help you align your bars to the bases) that get installed on the bottom.
The top (vortex) rubber strips press fit into place with a lip and are best installed without the end caps on as the three pieces together are longer than the bars and one will need to be cut. Not sure why one long piece wasn't provided as there were no instructions.
The bottom plastic measuring piece strips fit into the channels on the bottom and can be used to align the bars with the bases to ensure that you have the bars evenly spaced. Once you have the bars spaced you can tighten them down and cut these strips to fit in the inner and outer gaps on the bottom of the crossbar on either side of the base.
The plastic end caps come with a key to unlock/secure them to the bars but these seem to be the least secure part of the system.
My Yakima J-Bar Kayak racks fit perfectly on this system and are rock solid. For the price of this system I would have liked a little better quality in the caps and covers but other than that it's a very robust roof rack system.
Great Racks! Easy to install and they look great. Good quality material.
My review of the rhino roof rack is disappointing. It has been whistling and I tried undoing and trying again a second time and it still whistles. I’m left thinking of other methods to silence the whistling.

Very good quality very happy with my purchase! Easy to install
High quality products. I received my orders earlier than expected. I can't say enough about BrandiT, such an amazing experience. I highly recommend you ask for BrandiT on your next purchase. I will be ordering again soon.
The product works as described and couldn't be happier with them. They were easy to put on and work rather well on my roof rack for my Mini Cooper.
Sturdy and holding up after one year. Would buy again. Makes car look cool.
These installed easily and look great!
These are really nice roof racks. On our VW Golf Sportwagen, they look sporty and do not create any wind noise going down the road. We got these to use with the Vortex Aero Crossbars and the mounts are just high enough to work, but not too high to be awkward. The cross bars we got were the perfect width for the car. No issues of passengers hitting their heads on the like with other ill fitting systems. The mounts fit perfectly on the VW factory roof rails that came with the car.
Great product
Great fit, impact and weather resistant, easy to install and adjust. Installed on 2010 Nissan Altima one year ago, no complaints! Highly recommend.
Excellent product, very, very, very, easy to install, the videos help, looks great, I thought I was going to remove the bars and use the covers when the bars are not in use, but they look great, so I will leave them on :) . I will add some photos on my next review.
I liked how fast my item was shipped and received. Also that they kept me informed throughout. The only blooper that I had was that the installation sheet for my car had listed the front bar as the rear bar and the rear bar as the front bar. So it took me a while to figure that out. Once I figured that out they fitted like a charm, look good and are as sturdy as I expected. The 161mm measurement is installed on the rear location of my 19 corolla and the 157 mm measurement goes in the front.
Great low-profile platforms for the Rhino-Rack Vortex crossbars on my 2019 Jeep Compass! They look nice, are easy to install/adjust and seem sturdy.
These Rhino Rack low profile aero cross bars gave us the look that we were going for. Wind noise is minimal if noticeable at all. The Rhino Rack roof rack fit on top of the cross bars perfectly. Great product.
The item is exactly what I needed and etrailer was able to get it to me faster than anyone else, thank you!
We got it installed and it has works just fine. It will not be that easy to take off and re-install though. It seems like this kit was not really intended for the 2019 CR-V since when the posts were installed, the cross-bar attachment "tongues" tilted down somewhat. With enough effort tightening the top bolts they pulled up flush to the bars and seem fine. This seems kind of kludgy for a design however. I would have expected them to install such that the attachment points for the cross bars would have been more parallel to the roof of the car. This setup means constant stress on those metal components - perhaps that is intentional, but it means that pulling the bars and re-installing them so the car can go through a car wash will not be much fun.
Shopped all over the place for a decently priced package for my Grand Cherokee and eTrailer was the only one that knew what the heck I needed and got it to me w/in days. Will continue to shop with them.
Perfect custom rack for my car (that is without roof rails). Easy to construct and attach. Worked perfect for my kayaks! Stayed on all year with only need for 1 tighten.
Easy installation. Perfect fit.
I purchased my Rhino Rack from etrailer about a year ago and cannot be more pleased with the quality of the product or the level of customer service received from etrailer. Both brands have exceeded expectations!
All the Rhino Rack products listed, ie Nautic kayak carrier, anchor straps,2500 series legs, and Vortex crossbars were shipped extremely quickly by etrailer, with exceptional
customer assistance, and were all found to be of the highest quality materials.
Installation was relatively simple with an assistant and the video by Rhino Rack was
a valuable tool...once on my car, the system proved to be safe, secure and as
sturdy as I could hope for.
I would certainly recommend Rhino Rack systems in future, and will certainly rely
on etrailer for any of my future needs.
Well done...second order this year and etrailer's process from engagement to delivery met/exceeded expectations.
This is a great product. Keep in mind that the crossbars attached to these anchors do not permit opening of the sun/moon roof on the highlander.
I've loaded up my car multiple times and never had an issue, lumber from homedepot/lowes or varying kayaks/canoes, the roof rack handles well
Excellent quality. Heavy duty and well made!
They do what they're supposed to do!
They do what they're supposed to do!
Great product. Easy enough to install and they look nice. Also, Etrailer delivered top notch service. Everything I order shipped within 24 hours and was delivered in less than 2 days.
I installed this on a subaru Impreza. I had everything I needed from the kit that Etrailer packaged in. I also got Thule The Stacker - Rooftop Multi-Kayak Carrier (TH80) to haul up 2 Day Touring Kayaks. I have driven over 2000 miles with this set up, on this trip, and found no issue. Wind noise is minimal to not noticeable with this rack. The results will vary base on how the kayaks are loaded.
They work great, but be aware that you'll need to drill through the weather stripping that protects the area where the rail goes on a 2017+ CX-5.
The Rhino Rack black aero crossbars looks look great on our 2014 Acura TSX. There were 2 components involved, the bars themselves and the mounting legs. There was evidently a holdup with the latter (the legs) becoming available, and etrailer kept me updated on the status via both telephone voice messages and emails. Really topnotch customer service.
Perfect fit!! Carries 2 OC1 canoes and amas.
This roof rack is very solid and well-made. It was reassuring when I looked up my car online and saw a video of it being installed on that very car. The instruction manual is a little hard to follow and could be simplified, in my opinion. That said, the instructions and recommended measurements seem to be spot on.
I like them! Very solid, sturdy and made of good quality. The fact that I can lock them as well.
The Rhino rack is a little more expensive than other racks but well worth the price. The rack arrived UPS earlier than was first quoted. It took about an hour to install and fits perfectly on the wifes 2015 CRV. She loves the look and the quality makes the car look better.
The one complaint we have is when they are on they create a really annoying whistle.
I like the aerodynamic design, these bars are pretty quiet even on the interstate! I bought this system for carrying a kayak (I would've gone the model down, but the square bars don't work with the kayak carrier also offered on etrailer.) It took a little time to install, maybe an hour and a half? The bars and feet are rock solid thanks to the clamp kit.
Seem easy to use. Good material
Greg S was awesome! I was on quite a few different manufacturer websites trying to figure out the best solution for my sons Jeep Grand Cherokee . He’s a snow boarder and we wanted to get him the complete roof rack solution.
I came across the etrailer site and noticed they had sales and tech support .
Greg answered the phone and helped me determine the best solution.
He took the time to send me links for everything
Called me back later that night to assist with my order placement . He even emailed me to let me know when it arrived and to follow up.
Very pleased with the entire process.
We will install after the holidays and I’m confident if I need any help they will be there for us!
The whole kit fits great on my Honda HR-V. Assembly was simple and mounting took about 15 minutes. My Kayaks fit well and securely. I would recommend this product to a friend.
Perfect for easy transportation and super quiet low drag design,
Used a few times over the last year since my purchase. Product was shipped as expected, and installation was easier than expected. Product works perfectly....as expected. The build quality and design here is rock solid, and I was impressed by how intuitive the installation and use is. In particular, I like that I can simply reorder a kit one day to transfer the install to another vehicle. I never hesitate to swap this thing off and on my Maxima, since its so fast to do. I recommend that you install the arrow stickers to make this process a breeze.
Product installation was a total breeze! Never installed roof racks before and between their overall simplicity between these and the foot mounts plus the instructions being very detailed and well explained it was a simple and quick install! An absolute amazing product, would 100% recommend to anyone interested!
very slick aerodynamic design. very pleased. fits my THULE bike racks!!!! best part.
Fast delivery; good quality
Easy installation and it looks great on my vehicle. Shipping was fast and excellent customer service (Teresa J)
Nice bars, easy installation, fits my 2016 Subaru crosstrek perfectly. Wish it came with metal locks instead of plastic ones. Especially for the outrageous price for the pair. Also should have came with a spare pair of rubber strips for under the bars. If you have to adjust for later bought accessories, it will whistle like a tuning fork without proper length rubber seals underneath.
What more to say except they are still up there? I appreciate the ease of removal for these cross bars, yet a year later I have felt no great need to remove them. They look much better than the factory bars and have a distinctive yet complementary look with the vehicle.
Missing two washers. Other than that, no issues.
I like the Rhino Roof Rack a lot. It's a great fit for my 2020 Honda Fit!
Looks great no wind noise
Love it, fast shipping, works great and looks awesome on my car!
best fitting rack i've ever owned. great assistance from etrailer tech support.
Great product. exactly as described. I don't know how they sell it at such a great discount. looks fantastic on the car.
I had to have someone install it since I am not savvy about these kinds of things. I have yet to try putting my board on it, but it's on and looks good!
No issues, easy install.
Though the box was crushed the content survived and work good
As expected.
Make sure that you buy the other pieces to this product only giving 4 stars because they should have a bundle with all pieces needed to mount to your vehicle. Other than that it is a great product that I have had on my car for the last year
I received my Rhino-Rack 2500 kit within 48 hours, and install was a breeze. Everything fit as expected. Would definitely purchase here again.
The only good thing out of the whole set up. But you can find something much better at Harbor Freight Tools for 75% less.
Easy to install and great quality. Definitely a must for kayaks.
Super fast shipping! Had the carrier installed today. Looks so handsome! Thank you so much! Would definitely purchase from again!
Took a little bit of time to figure it out, but easily installable within an hour or two if you have an extra pair of hands.
Just finished it and it awesome. What was better than the rack was Olivia who made sure I got the right parts, videos and even a follow up email to check how the install went and to make sure I got my order. Awesomely done etrailer.com and Olivia
excellent product, hardly any added noise, strong, easy to install. great customer service
They look pretty sweet, easy to fit, customer service was no problem with some questions
So, when I ordered my stuff I noticed that the cost wasn't charged to my bank. I called to see if my order had been canceled but everything was gathered. Just got my stuff today (a day early) and I everything looks great! If it wasn't 9 at night...and raining I would be outside throwing everything on my car! Great customer service too! I'm not sure why bad reviews are coming in.
So far theyre holding up great the aero bars are the way to go
etrailer, and their customer service is second to none! I'll always go back here from now on
Works as advertised. Very easy to insta ll
Absolutely love this product as well as etrailer’s customer service!

Great product
4 star because one lock washer is missing and I had to buy replacement
The rack was shipped the same day I ordered it and arrived quickly. Easy installation and it fit great. The fit and finish is very good.
Very sturdy. I just installed them so I don’t know for sure how they will do but I like them so far. The wind noise is minimal and that’s great.
Well built and went together with no is sues.
Easy to install
Great quality and performance for much less than other big name brands. Fits my 15' Impreza Sport great
went on well, looks great. first detour from yakima and think it was the right call. 100 bucks cheaper, larger weight limits and looks just as sporty. rating is after one day;)

Great product. Clear instructions made it easy to install. Quick and helpful staff.
Excellent engineering. The rubber feet fit the contour perfectly providing a strong mount.
Good components. Installs easily. Quiet at 70 mph. Arrived quickly. No problems. Thanks
Good quality rack and it fit my vehicle perfect.
Went right on, everything was as advertised. Great looking rack as well.
Nice rack, looks great, but makes the loudest whistling siren like noise above 40 mph
Light weight and heavy duty easy to ins tall
Fit was good. It looks great on car.
It did sing at speeds above 45 mph. So we couldn't leave it on car. I couldn't figure out how to stop it. We since sold that car and haven't tried it on new car.
This was super easy to install but did take longer than I expected. No real reason. I just under estimated it. So give yourself ample time. About 2 hours is safe so that you can be sure you get it all done. No wind noise at all. Really sleak and sexy looking.
Noisy, but solid. No problem with two 50lb kayaks. Wind noise is more than I anticipated.
Looks great on my vehicle. Easy to ins tall.
Work great as designed.
Easy to install and directions were spot on with what I needed to do for end results success.
Happy with everything about it. Arrived really quickly.

Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
This review is for the Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Aluminum-Silver crossbars and
associated legs and custom fit kit (RRVA137s-2, DK284, RRRLKVA) necessary for a naked roof installation on a 2018 Honda CR-V. Just enter the model and year of your vehicle and etrailers website will tell you exactly what additional items are necessary to complete the install. etrailers installation instructions and videos are very helpful. The installation document provided is for more than one vehicle and for more than one style rack, so take your time to understand witch measurements apply to your installation and refer to the installation video if necessary. ON that note: The measurements given for front rack did not fit as nicely on the roof as the rear rack, I adjusted the the front rack measurements slightly. I would suggest trial fitting on your vehicle before cutting the metric rulers to final length. Stick On tags are supplied to indicate front, rear and the location to install on your vehicle. Once the rails are adjusted and tagged you can remove and reinstall the racks very quickly. Korren was very helpful in keeping me informed as to availability of items in stock and email shipping tracking. I am very satisfied with etrailers customer service and happy with the appearance and functionality of the Rhino racks.

I give all 5 stars for the product and service, but...I prefer the parts to be all in one carboard, also I was a little panicking looking for blue plastic key...It was inside of cross-bar ??not falling out with strips. Anyway,
I"m owner of Honda cr-v 2022 with bare roof ,and I just installed the rack. Was it simple enough? Yes,so I can share this:
First, rubber pads are all the same, and after placements to plastic legs should be placed with arrow*out*-that is it(a lot of info regarding vertical parts, that they are all different)??
Second, on other hand, in video we informed that clamps are same -they are not. Bigger "hooks" are for rear bar, smaller ones-for the front one.
Third, do not expect precision in rubber pads position(especially on rear bar)regarding plastic rail strips on bare roof.it is not achievable, just try to make same look on both sides.
I was worried about rain and water gets inside. Well, let us see.
What I plan to care on rack? Just a small 6ft step ladder. Believe me or no CR-V is my business vehicle ,and ladder carry was the goal of rack purchase. And only question I have if I can get to underground parking with no problems to cross the front entries usually limited with 6 ft in heights I will find out soon, but rack height plus ladder on it makes me worry.??The review will be update soon. regards.

At first I didn’t know how to get the end pieces off because I thought it was locked and didn’t know where the key was. After pulling one of the ends pieces off, I saw that the blue key was inside the crossbar next to the measuring strips. Took me a minute but figured that part out, but the instructions were easy to follow. Can’t wait to test it out on my Kayaks! I have this installed on my Toyota Corolla LE 2013.

I posted a detailed review with photos in my fit kit review by Anthony. If your thinking of getting a rack system this is the one to get and etrailer is the place to get it. This is a fabulous design. Strong and aerodynamic.

I purchased the Rhino legs, cross bars and J-style kaya carriers together and could not be more pleased with the combination. The system was installed in an evening and used the next day. Assembly and installation was easy. The most difficult part was getting an even extension from the legs on both sides of the vehicle. I put a vortex strip with the ruler in each side to adjust and then tightened the screws. This set the back part of the leg in place which made installing the strips on the bottom easy as well. With strips filling all the gaps in the cross bar there is no wind noise at all.

Great Roof Rack! It is super quiet when driving down the road even when going 75+ mph. Exceeded all my expectations. I paired mine with the Rhino Rack Hybrid Bike Carrier (RBC050). I’m able to fully open my hatchback (2018 Honda Civic 5dr) and it looks great as well.

The new parts came and I was able to
Put it on my car with no problem!!
Thank you for listening to me and helping me problem solve. It looks great on my car and I'm ready to load the kayaks now!!
Kalie is a gal that sent me some return labels so I'm going to put that on the box and send it back to you guys!

Just what I was looking for for my 2021 MB Metris Cargo Van with Raised Rails, for hauling a 14-foot SUP. I wanted as low profile as possible and the Rhino Rack SX Series Legs and Aero Crossbars looked best. Relatively easy to set up.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Overall unimpressed. Item took nearly a month to arrive from eTrailer despite being in-stock and an estimated delivery time of two days at checkout. The rack looks good but the leg locking bars are made of plastic, not sure why for the price. Not enough hardware was supplied to install following the instructions. Instructions show split lock washers on each bolt. Had to purchase additional split lock washers. Not impressed with the fact that I now need to keep up with 3 specialty tools to service/remove this rack that is supposed to be quick release. 1 key to lock the bases, 1 key to remove the bar end caps and a 5mm safety post Allen which is a stupid tool anyway. The hardware should be standard Allen or torx not safety. The tube end caps should be able to be removed with a flat head or normal tool and not a proprietary key. This would eliminate two superfluous tools. Overall I would not buy this rack again, I would go with a different system.

Very straight forward to install. Took about a half hour in total. No whistling whatsoever. They look awesome on my 2016 Ford Explorer Sport! Especially with my running boards and tires...
Waiting on my Rhino basket to get here to install that next!

I wouldn't buy these bars again. Starting with the good, they work as a roof rack and have allowed me to transport my kayak. So that's been great! That said, I would have spent more to get a different kind of rack. These have a serious design flaw. They're hollow tubes with an open slit down the middle. They give you a rubber strip to plug up the hole as best you can, then you put caps on either side of the bars. The bars basically act as two giant clarinets on top of your car. No one can stand the whistling/squealing when they drive in my car. They ask me to take the bars down when they drive with me. I thought this was normal for temporary racks until I was in the car with a friend who had different temp racks and didn't hear a thing.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
The cross bars assembled easily and with some assistance mounted to the car perfectly. I just got them on tonight and am going to be doing a bit of driving tomorrow and will report back with any noise issues. I do not expect any issues. I have purchased a few things for the same vehicle from etrailer and have been pleased all around with each.
Review from a similar RCP in Roof Rack
These Rhino-Rack products are solid. Installation was quite simple. It took me no more than 2 hours from taking off the OEM rails to getting the crossbars to tighten down.
Keep in mind that these legs were designed for the Toyota Prado (it even says so on the installation guide). Once you remove the Lexus OEM rails, you will notice a groove, about 3/4" deep and 1-1/8" wide, alongside the roof. If your GX does not come with the OEM rails, the grooves might already be covered up by the factory drip trim pieces (Toyota PN 75557-60050, 75555-60030). This Rhino rack kit does not come with any hardware to cover up the grooves. I was told they would not cause any leaks because the mounting points are tightly sealed.
But if you have severe OCD like me, those grooves will be bothering you (even though you can't see them). Instead of paying over $xxx for the OEM trims pieces. Fill them up with some 3/4"wide 3/8 inch thick insulation tape, then tape a strip of 1" wide, 1/8" thick neoprene rubber strip on top. The end product looks just like OEM. I hope my simple idea will help other fellow OCD survivors.

Excellent system. Little to no wind noise. Measurements to mount the rear bar to the 2020 Equinox are incorrect in the instructions but easy to adjust to an exact fit.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
I have been using etrailer for many years and have never had a bad purchase. We are about to start traveling quite a bit with our 5th wheel. Putting our kayaks on the back of the trailer was not an option. I researched several roof top carriers and this package was by far the best value and quality. The Rhino rack is awesome, works extremely well with kayak "J" carriers and installed relatively easy. There was an issue with the measurements for the underside channel covers. For my Ram, they were short. But I always use the old adage of measure 2, 3 or 4 times. Cut once. Saved me a few problems here. As alway7s with etrailer, we are very pleased with the product, the serv ice and the information before purchasing.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Easy to install. The pins on the legs clamp perfectly into the fixed points on the car's flush rails. This is a nice low profile set up. The top of the crossbar is about 4" above the roof glass and does not interfere with opening the sunroof. This is a very sturdy setup for our Thule Motion XT XL. etrailer shipped extremely fast. Very pleased with my purchase.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Great product, Roc25 for my 2012 Prius. The bars are a little big and chunky, but I like that they don’t protrude off the side of the roof, and that they are quiet (light whistle I only hear with the windows open). The roof can only handle ~100 lbs so longer more utilitarian bars would be useless. Great for a small roof box and maybe a single bike.

Great quality and easy install, had Thule system prior and these are less cost and far better quality.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
I was really looking forward to this rack as I'll be running my roof tent on it. Unfortunately it came damaged, since the damage was limited to the end caps I went ahead and mounted it.
The rack itself looks slick, comes with little measuring sticks to make sure you install it straight the first time, comes with all the tools required.
So thats about it for good stuff.
Wind noise , to give you an idea how bad it is I have this on a old f250 with a bad muffler and 33in mud tires and its still almost intolerable! It's like they put it in a wind tunnel and tuned for as much noise as possible.
I also ordered a roof bag at the same time , I wasn't expecting much from it . It's a bag with a zipper and straps. Sadly the hardware is junk and I snapped a buckle with some light tensioning.
Customer service
Initial service was as good or better than expected. Things went downhill when the damage was reported. I told the rep I was only at a US address for the next 10days and if the replacement was going to take longer than that would they ship it to Canada?
The answer was no, they won't ship it to Canada (talking about a couple pieces of plastic you could stick in the mail for $2.00). They then proceeded to slowplay the authorisation for the replacement parts and shipped them the day I told them was my last day to receive them.
So to sum it all up I am the happy owner of one of the loudest racks on the planet that looks sketchy due to the shipping damage. A roof pack that will probably end up at the dump after one extended trip.
Not likely to be a repeat customer!

These aero crossbars compliment the other accessories I've rated previously. It all cam together to be a great roof rack for my new Nissan NV200. The crossbars are oversize to accommodate my Thule Hulavator kayak racks.
The instructions and how-to videos on etrailer helped me do it myself. Thanks.

2020 Ford Edge with Vista Roof. Product arrived ahead of predicted delivery date. Very easy to assemble and directions were very easy to follow. Product is very high quality. I found 150mm front and 140mm rear to be the correct dimensions (I read a feedback that said they were not correct). No problems with Vista Roof, legs sit on the metal roof part not the glass. Overall very pleased with my purchase.

I like the sleek profile, and they look very strong too. The metal material is thick and doesn't seem like it will bend under normal conditions. They fit my 2016 XC90 nicely, with some overhang that I hope will allow me to fit a few different things on.

Great look, durable. I accidentally drove under an airport height guage with my SUP attachments. The rear bar was pulled off the truck, but received no damage. Reinstalled, back to work!
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
TLDR: It's a good product with (literal) strength, and some weaknesses. Its cheaper than the competitors, and its in stock now. I mainly bought this due to inventory issues from the other main competitors. That it costs about 100 bucks less is nice, but the reasons for the cost difference is noticeable if you've ever used Thule or Yakima products before.
Installation was not more or less irritating than any other roof rack (I've installed MANY over the years).
Materials are similar, but the plastic parts feel cheaper than Thule or Yakima, and they towers have exposed innards on the inside faces that make it look cheap, and may create more noise. The fit kit feet are good, but the hooks are 2 pieces pinned together instead of formed and cut to custom lengths. This makes them bulkier than the competition.
Apparently they are rated for 33% more weight than the others, and that's cool if you need to haul heavy stuff on top.
All said, I'd probably buy their stuff again in a pinch, or if I was trying to save money, but for fit and finish I would go with Thule or Yakima

I am extremely pleased with this product and the etrailer.com. I would definitely purchase this item again and will look to etrailer.com for future purchases. The item arrived quickly and completely as described. The pictures and videos provided on the website ensured I got exactly what I wanted and helped guide the install. My only critique is I received three different installation manuals and didn't realize at first they were for different products. They were very similar so I didn't notice the difference prior to drilling the holes in my topper. Thankfully I did notice prior to creating any major problems, but I ended up adding a few more bolts than my application required (which means more holes drilled in my topper) and it was in metric instead of standard (should have been my first clue). I'm not sure why I received installation manuals for other material, so just take minute to make sure you're referencing the correct one. Additionally, measure multiple times, drill ONCE! I was very nervous to drill holes in my topper so I must have measured 6 or 7 times. I finally just had to go for it. The painters tape was very important for measuring and aligning and prevented my drill bit from sliding. I also used a brand new multipurpose drill bit.

Solid, but one of the bars did not come with enough rubber seal strips. etrailer customer svc said they will reach out to Rhino for me.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
The crossbars are great, but the rubber strip in the middle gets bunched up or comes out when loading heavy items across the bar. But the rubber provides grip, and the grip is amazing. I am not worried about kayaks or rafts sliding around. I do need longer ones though...

I wish the vortex strip came pre installed. Kind of a pain to take the additional time to install it yourself. Had a hard time getting it in the rails at certain points.

Bought this a few weeks ago and finally got around to installing it yesterday. Overall it is very easy to install. I assembled everything in my shop and set the rails about 1 inch wider that what I actually wanted them to be. Put the whole assembly on the roof the the camper shell and centered using a soft seamstress tape measure. Once centered I marked the holes, i then cut the rails down 3 inches and put it back on the roof. I am real OCD so everything was measured precise and equal. Once I was ready to drill holes I measured everything again and once I got up my nerve I drilled all 16 holes in the roof. I did not use the butyl supplied with the racks, instead I used windshield urethane ( I installed windshield in a previous life). I then lined everything up and installed the rails. Before screwing down I put some large D-rings in place and the tightened the lock nuts. The D-rings will allow me to hang things from them. Now I am just waiting to strap my surfboards to the top and head to the beach.

One of the bars was not of the right dimension. I had to spend several hours trying to install it as I though I was doing something wrong.
However, when I reported this to etrailer they said they are trying to get a response from Rhino-Rack but it would be good if I try to get in touch with them too. I got in touch with Rhino-Rack and they again sent me wrong size twice before getting it correct. Seems like there is poor quality control at Rhino-Rack.
Also, very disappointed with the etrailer customer service. They never checked back with to see if I contacted Rhino-Rack or my issue was resolved. Very poor customer services.

I found the bars very nice. I like then as well as the Thule Aero bars my daughter has on her car and these are a lot less expensive. They were a little more work to install, but I took it slow and there were no problems. I took a 200 mile trip after installing them, nothing on them, and I didn't really notice any problem with noise. I have had square bars on other cars and you could really tell they were up there even with a deflector.
I would do these again if I need another set for something.

I searched a lot of websites before finding what I needed on etrailer.com for my 2012 Suzuki GV. I was looking for the proper mounts to install a Kayak rack system. Because my vehicle has a built in rail system it was very confusing what was needed. Thank you etrailer for hooking me up with the appropriate parts for the Rhino system, it worked great!

I purchased Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero Crossbars with Rhino-Rack 2500 Series Legs (RRRLKVA) and Fit Kit (DK284) for my 2020 Honda CR-V EX Hybrid. The rack was easy to assemble and took about an hour. The only tool not supplied that you need is a sharp knife or scissors to cut the rubber strips to length. Once assembled, the installation took about 30 minutes, making sure to measure accurately for placement. I used blue painter's tape to initially mark the locations. I then placed the white marking arrows (supplied) to align with the marks on the tape. I then removed the tape, placed the racks aligned with the arrows, and tightened the clamps.
This product seems well made and engineered (I'm a retired mechanical engineer). Kudos to Rhino-Rack and to etrailer for selling it.

Straightforward installation and high quality product. I had to shift the front bar a few inches more towards the hood than the instructions suggested. I think this is because the 2021 Durango refresh slightly changed the roof profile. I can detect no noise coming from these bars while driving at any speeds.

etrailer.com's videos and additional customer support made the purchase of a Rhino Rack system from them for our 2010 Malibu a no brainer. The rack fit the car perfectly, and with the videos and clear instructions that came with the kit, I got it installed on the car with only one misstep. The instructions came the the measurements in centimeters and inches. I didn't have a metric tape measure, and ended up messing up converting fractions to decimal.
My Daughter is going to college 500 miles away and is moving into an unfurnished apartment and needed to pick up some small furniture that wouldn't fit in her Malibu. She purchased several items from Facebook Marketplace and was able to transport a twin bed and mattress, a medium sized desk and some dining room chairs (in several trips) with no problems.
The only thing I can think of to improve the installation would be to have the Inches measurements in decimal or to include an inexpensive metric tape.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
I own a 2013 Honda CRV I purchased a couple months ago. It has a naked roof and no rack or side bars, and I wanted to be able to carry up to three kayaks. I didn't really want to buy and install the side bars, and then the cross bars also. I also needed the cross bars to be a little wider than the vehicle itself, as I own two Ocean Kayak Scupper Pros, and a Venus.
This Rhino Rack package looked like a great option for my needs. Weight wise, the three boats come right to the limit. Other racks had lower weight limits, and wouldn't work.
I had a couple issues with the initial package, but etrailer took care of the problem right away, and sent out what I needed.
Installation was pretty smooth. I recommend reading and rereading the instructions, before you cut anything. The videos on the etrailer website or directly on YouTube are very helpful to see all the steps. I'd like to see more personalized instructions added in the future, just to to make everything even smoother. Make sure you identify your vehicle and the bar you received on the kit instructions before you start.
These bars are so wonderful. The aero bars make no noise when driving and no whistling that I can tell. They don't seem to effect my gas mileage. I made sure the top rubber strips and bottom measurement strips were cut perfectly with no gaps, as this is important to prevent whistling.
They look so stylish. I get complements on them, and people can't believe they are after market, and that I installed them myself. They really complement the vehicle. Once installed the first time, I can take them off or put then back on in about 12 minutes. I don't really plan to take them off though. I don't use car washes, and I like the look of them on my vehicle.
I made sure to not overtighten them, and then tightened them a few times over the next week and with a couple kayaking trips. These babies are strong and I can't make them move when I test them. I still check them regularly to make sure they are secure, for safety purposes.
I highly recommend this Rhino Rack package. They know how to make the perfect roof rack and you can tell the quality and thought that went into them. Look at my photos I have included.
Thank you to etrailer for such great service. You made the whole process so pleasant and easy.
Thanks for the follow up Michael. I see that you do have your sea kayaks secured to your roof rack with a rope system, but if you were interested I did want to let you know that we do have the Rhino Rack Bonnet Tie_down Strap # RRRBAS1

I'm a big fan of Rhino Rack. Their products are very well made. And videos of fit and installation are great. I purchased a bed rail system(Rhino Rack) separately and installed the Aero bars on them. Helps to make carrying kayaks easier to transport by not having to put up on the roof system. Also Rhino Rack.

Two stars because the provided hardware interferes with the factory rails when using the provided cover plates (to be installed when you remove the cross bars & towers). Had to source my own 12mm long cap screws because provided 16mm were too long. Otherwise works as advertised.

We absolutely love this rack. I installed it myself on an ARE topper to carry my 2 kayaks. It does it very well. It was recommended by a guy that I had just met. He had the same feelings for it as I do now.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Crossbars have a minimum track width that is not listed on the product page.
The 59" (1500mm) bars have only 300mm of mounting space on the ends to connect the mounting legs. This is not found anywhere on the product page. Accounting for the offset of the mounting legs, your factory tracks must be at least ~1000mm apart to fit these crossbars. The tracks on my truck cap are 800mm apart (SnugTop Hi-Liner) so the cross bars did not fit.
etrailer customer service was courteous but not very helpful. I went in circles answering the same questions before contacting the manufacturer directly. One star for the hardware seeming well designed and solidly built. A second star for the return process being uncomplicated and the refund prompt.

Because my Honda Fit's roof is already sort of in the danger zone for me hitting my head every time I bend down to put the kid in the car seat or whatever else, having traditional crossbars stick out into space beyond the roof line would have been a recipe for a black eye. Installation was very quick and secure, and road noise isn't bad at all.

Very nice rack package. Everything was complete, and install was easy 4/10. I had used another review for the hole spacing, as it was easier. Holes at each end 5/8 in then at 9, 18, 27, 36, 45, 54, for a total of 8 on each rail. I bought the heavy duty set, that’s why there’s 8. The standard has only 6/rail. I marked a centerline on the cap, and put the rails at 36” on center. I used painters tape to be sure they were straight. I also measured , and laid out the holes on the cap and drilled a SINGLE HOLE at the 36” mark. Then verified that the end holes would hit the reinforced portion of my ARE cap. Once that was verified, I drilled the rest of the holes. Because of the camber of the cap, a second person is helpful (holding the rail tight to the cap) when tightening up the nuts from inside the cap. After that, the rest was easy. Just center the rail mounts and lock them in. I would definitely recommend this rack set up, Especially since it was half of what my local Yakima dealer quoted me.
This was installed on a 2016 Silverado, 2500.
Tools used- Tape measure, grease pencil, painters tape, 1/4” drill bit and Cordless drill.

We had the challenge of how to carry 2 kayaks this summer in addition to hauling a 30 foot gooseneck horse trailer. We have F450 crew cab with custom truck bed. We hoped to use the "head ache" bar on the truck bed to support the rear sets of Swagman Rincon supports and purchased a single Rhino Vortex bar for the forward sets on top of the cab. We have 10.5 and 12 foot kayaks and this looks to be an excellent solution. The kayaks are clear of the gooseneck trailer even in a "jackknife" position. Please note the truck bed is extra long therefore there is plenty of room forward the nose of the trailer. We have not hauled yet but will convey any issues if there are any. eTrailer tech support was excellent. Product shipped as projected. Installation took approximatly 3 hours.

I installed this rack on my F-250 bed cap. The install went smooth. I did it completely by myself with a lot of ladder repositioning. Very happy with the quality of the rack. I’m able to get three full size bikes on top of the cap and free up a ton of cargo space for long trips with our travel trailer.

THE GENIUS OF A PERFECT SOLUTION
It is not very often that a purchase for something as mundane as a utility device stirs such awe inspired appreciation and praise. I have just completed the installation of the RLCP Rhino Heavy Duty Canopy/Hard Tonneau Track Mount atop my A.R.E. Camper Shell. I am amazed at the attention to detail of each and every part which has been carefully engineered and perfectly manufactured.
I am truly impressed by the genius of a perfect solution to my roof top cargo handling needs! From the mating surfaces of the injection molded towers and the lightweight, but durable extruded anodized aluminum crossbars, to the gentle contour of the rail stock to the camper rooftop, every single part has form, fit and function! The finished product is beautiful, durable, convenient, and for the money invested, economical. I give Five Stars of Praise to the Aussie friends at Rhino-Rack Australia Pty, Ltd.
Equally praiseworthy is the superb performance of e-trailers, Inc. These folks distinguish themselves from the competition through their superior attributes of website presentation, pricing, order fulfillment and package integrity. This is a unique distribution partnership which is imbued with the highest standards of e-commerce.
Job well done, everyone!

The rhino rack is well made but suffers from the flat bottom rubber feet. Since nearly all cars and trucks have roof seams, foot pads should be stepped to engage the seam like other racks such as Thule does. It's unlikely that very many different shapes would be needed to fit most vehicles. Rhino tech didn't agree with my assessment.

These slick looking, quality made, aluminum, aero bars came with the RLCP25 kit, to fit my FJ Cruiser. It didn't have the big, bulky, useless for carrying much of anything factory rack.
I like the look of the full size racks/ baskets, but didn't want to spend $800 + truck freight to get one. These cross bars are perfect for carrying my 14' canoe, plus whatever else with various cargo carrying accessories.
They are light, yet combined carry near 100+ lbs. of gear.
There is a rubber strip in the top slot, bottom slots and plastic strips to seal those, once you slide the feet in the correct distance to be even on both sides for your vehicle, and black, plastic end caps to finish it off.
You'll need a tape measure and 10mm socket wrench to attach to the feet, then re-tighten periodically for safety.
They look great on mr ride, and I can deal with the rubbing/ humming sound, after putting them on, although it does sound like my tires rubbing the fender wells...

Function perfect minus one small problem. There all some plastic pieces that pop into the bottom when you're done installing. If I had to guess one of them popped out during a drive-thru car wash. For about two weeks we kept hearing a low whistle noise at higher speeds or windy days. Finally figured out the plastic pieces prevent that wind whistle noise. Luckily the crossbars come with a some extras. Installed those back in and haven't had an issue since. 2018 Kia Niro.

When I was initially installing these I did not think they were the correct size for my vehicle because the rubber feet for the brackets didn't set right in the groves along my roof. But as it turns out, they leave a small gap on either side so that water can flow under them, nice design. They are quiet as I ride and more sturdy than the racks that came factory on my last vehicle. I've used them to carry my 12' kayak and they worked great. I like the rubber gasket in the top. I think that will be handy for when I carry ladders etc. I haven't tried any attachments to use with the T track.

These were part of the 3 pieces I bought together for my 2018 Toyota Tacoma Access Cab. They are very strong--we put two sets of J-bars on them and carried two kayaks over 300 miles. There was virtually no wind noise, at least from the bars. A little from the kayaks, but that was expected. I'd highly recommend.

Just installed this rack on my 2015 CRV with a naked roof and it took a little over an hour. Simple instructions and assembly but be sure that your feet are in the exact spot recommended. After initial install, the foot on the front driver's door caused a very minor drip/leak from the door seal during a heavy downpour. Simply moving it 1/16" took care of the leak. Great rack and I hardly notice any noise driving on the highway.

I did a lot of research on this product and others like it and even went to far as to buy a set from a different maker off of [online vendor] because it was far more inexpensive. They (Legs\Crossbar Combo)didn't work for my accessory (Thule Upride), so back the went.
I took the plunge and bought these paired with the Vortex Aero Crossbars and I cannot be more pleased. Rock solid, and they have to be when you have a $3500 bike on top of your vehicle. They don't make much noise and are very easy to install\uninstall as needed. I've used them solidly for a year now without a single issue!
I wholeheartedly recommend these legs and crossbars to anyone on the market.

This is a great roof rack, VERY sturdy once attached! I used it to carry two kayaks on the freeway multiple times and it was flawless. It is quite loud, but that is to be expected with this type of roof rack. Having the sunroof open doesn't help either... :-)

I purchased two Vortex Aero crossbars as part of a complete roof rack system for my kayak. My vehicle is a 2013 Ford F-150 FX4 with sunroof. The sunroof is no problem with the Rhino Rack 2500 system
I am very pleased with the Rhino Rack 2500 system. It is very strong, easily handling my 42 lb kayak, which is 19’ long.
I recommend mounting the kayak carriers to their final position on the crossbars prior to cutting the plastic strips. The plastic strips prevent wind from causing whistling noises at highway speeds. These plastic strips can be inserted into the tracks on the top side of the crossbars with the kayak carriers premounted. Simply cut the strips to filt all empty track sections and carefully press the plastic strips into their respective track sections. Note that the bottom side of the crossbars also have tracks. The empty track spaces on the bottom side use a different type of plastic strip. The bottom plastic strips look like a plastic ruler, with graduations in millimeters. This is described in the user direction guide. It took me a while to figure that out!
My crossbars do not whistle at all at any speed up to the max I have tried at 75MPH.

Everyone where I live said they were out of the Rhino-Rack roof rack, and they didn't know when they would get it back in stock. I seen it on etrailer.com, so I called and asked if it was really in stock. Steve Z. Took me call and said yes and it would ship out in a day or so. Received a follow-up email asking if everything was correct and if I had any problems. Great company and great customer service.

Roof rack cross bars look great on my 2018 F-150 crew cab. Instructions are a bit confusing. However, still an easy install. Note: Instructions refer to a RL, RR, FL and FR rubber bracket pad. Kit included two of each RL and RR. Same used on front and rear bar. Also, front bar is the one that is slightly shorter. Front requires a bit more persuasion with the clamps to pull it into the roof crevices. Rear drops straight in. So far, so good. Ready to haul two kayaks. Also, great customer service from etrailer. I questioned front fit and they verified it was correct parts.

Service from ETrailer was excellent. Personal and very helpful service (kudos to Michele S.) . Prompt shipping and items exactly as described. The installation videos on their website were helpful but I still needed to follow the written instructions. Without hurrying it took me about an hour and a half to assemble and install the rack on my Tundra. It fit very well and feels very secure. Still need to take it out onto the road. If anything bad shows up I'll post an updated review but I really don't expect any problems. I've used racks like these before (not from Rhino) and this looks like a pretty solid piece of equipment.

The bars to the job as far as carrying the load, but there's a big difference between "wind noise" and "an extremely annoying whistling". Wind going over the bars makes a very annoying whistling noise and there seems to be no fix other than purchasing additional wind deflection products.

You have to order the cross bars and connector hardware separately. I also ordered the end cap locks.
I consider myself a pretty good DYI person and it took longer than I expected according to other reviews on here to get everything installed and overlapping the same on both sides.
Once installed the crossbars are very solid. I do get noticeable wind noise at say 70+MPH.
I installed these on a 2020 Jeep GC Overland and they look and function great! Was a bit concerned about the sun roof retraction with the bars, but there is plenty of clearance. No issue.
I for sure recommend the Rhino Rail crossbars. Etrailer is a great site to get the bars. Given the COVID issues and supply chain breakdowns retailers are facing, they still had everything I ordered to me in a very reasonable time frame.

Excellent product! I installed this roof rack on my brand new 2020 Honda Civic Sport. Since my car has dual center exhaust, a hitch mount was not an option. I paired it with the RockyMounts Brass knuckles wheel on bike carrier. It was straight forward to install and for over a year everything has worked flawlessly. Obviously I take a hit on fuel economy especially at highway speeds with 2 bikes on the roof. I recently took a road trip and averaged about 31 mpg (would be about 38 mpg with no racks or bikes). However without bikes, I was averaged about 35 mpg which isn't too much impact. The Rhino Racks were a little bit less expensive than the competition but no compromises at all. Definitely recommend these Rhino Racks and RockyMounts Brass knuckles bike carrier.

The rack looks good, It went on in about an hour and a half. I would have appreciated some guidance as to the best place to fasten the rails to a topper and how best to deal with a roof with a slight arch. I decided on the 65” instead of the recommended 59” for my 2018 F250 Crew. Before I did I called etrailer to confirm that the crossbar would be ok using the custom DK Fit and Rhino Rack 2500 series legs. The guy confirmed and I placed the order. Everything does fit and quality is great but all I received was measurements using the 59” bar. Something is different between these two bars and etrailer couldn’t help me out.
I figured it out myself and determined the bracket distance on the bar so it fit properly.
Rhino Rack should offer the proper bracket measurements for all 3 Areo Crossbars ( 59, 65 and 72 ) as they pertain to Ford F-250 “17” and up. They all fit - as bracket is in the same spot on the truck.
Great quality solid rack. I’d give 5 star if it wasn’t for this

The product is great, I've gone with rhino rack for all my roof racks but one of the bars and hardware that came in was obviously used and probably returned. Scuff marks, cut rubber bar liner and signs of use. Not really happy with that because this stuff is expensive but nobody has stock of anything these days so I'm kinda stuck with it. Not saying I'm done with etrailer because I've ordered from them in the past, I'm just disappointed in this order.

The Rhino racks are well designed and easy to install and remove. As advertised, they are also low profile and have an OEM look on the truck. Overall, they worked well on a 1000+ mile road excursion with two light Eddyline kayaks last spring. On the flip side: The low profile design leaves just a 2”-3” clearance (to rooftop) that could be a problem if you intend to attach a rack and heavier load. With no load they also add a noticeable noise and seem to affect aerodynamics (mileage) a bit.

My inital thought of these crossbars were that they were going to be too small. Two of the other big makers call for 53" min and 60" recommended. However after installing, 49" is a perfect fit for the Cayenne I feel. The rack is extremely quiet (make sure you use the channel rubber on top and bottom) The Cayenne is fairly quiet car inside and it was one of my big concerns but I only hear what sounds like a slight rush of air, no buzzing or whistling at all.
The downside to this rack is I think the black paint is too thin. Just laying it on the pavement while setting up caused scratches to appear. Silver would be the way to go if your getting these, or spray them plastic.

I purchased a full kit for my 2017 Ford explorer, connectors, Feet and these cross bars. I will use them for hauling my roof top box on trips as well as other things that will not fit in my vehicle. The install is farily simple however some of the tools provided for tightening are not the best. Luckily I had a number of other tools to get this complete. The main thing I feel is needed is a socket allen key to tighten down the cross bars nice and tight. The allen key provided is difficult to work with and get the leverage you need to snug the bars down.
Another tip is to be sure to use the excess measuring closure to close off the inside of underside of the bars. Use a box cutter to cut the excess and fit it to the inside. I read some reviews about noise and I have zero noticeable noise. Do not tighten the bars down until you have this all inserted in and slid under the feet. Then snug it all down. If you do these things and close all the gaps the bars are almost silent.
The bars look great on the vehicle and seem very sturdy and solid. I would have no reservations hauling ladders, lumber and all of the typical stuff you see on roof racks. The rubber strips are heavy duty and add a nice non slip feel to the top of the bars.

This Rhino Rack roof rack system worked out very well for me. I installed it myself and took my time doing it. The rack system will work great with my RTT. It's easy to adjust and looks great on truck.
For the installation, I decided to use a center line down the middle of my canopy (shell) as my reference point for all measurements. I simply identified the middle of the third brake light on the shell and the third brake light on the back of the cab. I then snapped a chalk line from those points to mark the middle of the canopy. This method worked out great and the rails are perfectly parallel to each other.
The folks at etrailer.com were especially helpful. I had a slight glitch with a minor part in the kit and Bill at e-trailer got it resolved very quickly. He even followed up by calling me directly to give me an update. Truly exceptional customer service. Thanks to all at etrailer. They will definitely get more of my business.

Been wanting to get a roof rack for my small Honda H-RV suv for some time now. Finally decided to pull the trigger on one and opted for this Rhino rack system.
Watching the etrailer install video and following the manufacturer's instruction, the front rack went on easily and perfectly. However, the rear track turned out to be a very long process. Why? Because I thought the manufacturer's measurements for the rear was an error. After the rack was assembled, it didn't seat into the roof channel at all. It appeared to be well short. So, I proceeded to use my mechanical ingenuity to get this rack to fit on my own. After a lengthy span of time and numerous adjustments, I'd come to realize that the manufacturer's measurements were correct. The footing did not sit perfectly until the unit was fully tightened against the vehicle. Live and learn.....once again.
The rack is absolutely solid, and looks very clean and sharp on top of the H-RV. I could not detect any additional noise while driving, even at highway speed.
The main purpose of this roof rack was for transporting my recreational kayak. I was not aware that these bars had a rubber strip running along the entire top of the bar. This turned out to be perfect for the kayak. Now, I didn't need to buy a specific kayak cradle. The kayak, one strapped down, is held absolutely secured to the rack.
I am very happy with this product! Once again, etrailer comes through perfectly with another of my order. Prompt service and indepth product info are the reasons why I shop here!

I purchased this rack system for my 2016 Jeep Wrangler Willy's Wheeler edition - 2 door! There are lots of products out there that are listed for the 4 door but the two door model is more difficult to shop for.
The racks shipped immediately and were here in just a few days. All the parts were there, properly labeled and provided with clear instructions.
To properly fit my small roof, I took the two roof rails to a local machine shop and had them cut them to exactly 35.5". This allowed me to mount the tracks in the outermost groove on the roof and gave me the greatest possible length.
One problem that I had (and had predicted) is that the inside of the Jeep roof has a lip on the inside that interferes with the provided knobs seating properly against the inside of the roof. The local hardware store had no nuts (NOTHING) that would fit the threads of the provided T-Bolts. I ended up temporarily using solid metal spacers to fill the gap and allow me to tighten the provided knobs against the spacer which is against a rubber gasket and then the inner roof!
It worked! In the meantime, I will continue to search for some safety nuts that will fit the Rhino provided T-Bolts.
The rack looks great, is solid as a rock and easy to put on and remove! Now I can comfortably carry our kayaks and/or paddle boards to the lake!

The Rhino rack track system is engineered perfectly. Installed on a 2006 f150 crew cab. The only complaint I have is with Snugtop. They install a soft reinforced cardboard center on the underside of the topper that makes the Rhino tracks install on a curved surface. Very pleased with the install. You will need 2 people for the install. Don't attempt alone.

The Rhino T-Load Hitch and Vortex Aero roof rack system are very well designed, strong and straightforward installations. We have a Hobie Tandem Island sailing kayak, 18.5' long and around 200 lbs. on the roof racks / T-hitch, it is very solid. The T-hitch assembled in 15 minutes. Had my neighbors, both engineers, not come over to "help" with the roof rack install it would have been done in an hour. Lesson learned, keep the software developers over in their yard during install, away from power tools, no drilling allowed. Rhino systems and support staff are outstanding. Definitely recommend these products and the company.

The system seems well thought out. I put mine together and placed on top of the canopy to mark the location before drilling as the canopy is slightly narrower toward the front. I like the idea of security hardware but it doesn’t us it throughout. Tower slide along the track bolts are security but not the bar to tower bolts. It’s only 4 more.
Also for the price of the system you would think it would come with the metal keyed bar ends that are optional. The kit cam with three sets of instructions. Do review them. The spacing for the track bolt holes you need to drill in the top of the canopy are incorrect for the 63 inch tracks. I suggest making a template for drilling so both sides or the same and check the measurements!
Rather expensive but all in all I think it’s a quality product that looks good too. Plan on transporting kayaks and bikes met long lumber is also an option. There are lots of accessories for this rack.
I couldn’t figure out how to register the product on the Rhino website and was not provided a mail in card.

Also a cool stylish look on the Scion XB or any other compact car like my wifes Toyota Yaris... We move it back & forth to who ever needs the Cargo Basket for the days Adventure.

Excellent product, with excellent quality. It fit my 2017 Nissan Sentra perfectly. The construction of the product is made to last many years, while offering versatility and protection to my car. I bought the Roof Racks a year ago, to be able to transport construction materials, since I did not have a Truck. And it has been one of the best purchases or investments made. I really recommend it. Satisfaction is guaranteed.

Top notch service, guidance, and products. Steve Z spent good time on the phone with me identifying exactly what I needed for my vehicle as well as ensuring we had an economical solution. He nailed it. I got everything within a week. Installation instructions were clear enough for this computer guy to install it himself. Fit is perfect. The rails and basket are like a rock on top of the vehicle. etrailer should be your first stop for any needs in this space.

The rail kit for fiberglass truck caps arrived promptly and was as described on the website. Reasonably easy to install and easily as good as Thule and Yakima racks for half the money. My only minor quibble is a couple of small scratches on a crossbar. However, since it's sure to get scratches from normal use is not a big deal. It'll be used to mount an awning and extra gear for group camping trips.

I bought the Rhino-Rack for my 2014 KIA Soul "with a sun roof" and my wife and I installed it in about a half hour. it was soo easy and fits like it was manufactured just for my car. Everything I saw said that it was not for cars for the sun roofs but i measured and checked several friends before I ordered and bought and there looks to be no problems. It fits very well and the clearance is very sufficient. I can now carry my wood or kayaks or larger stuff around.

The racks fit perfectly! They are a great fit to my car. They don’t interfere with the sunroof’s operation. I assembled it on my own with no difficulty. It was easy to assemble. The directions it provides to you are easy to follow. The only down side was getting the plastic pieces to lock on the ends of the bars. Other than that they are great and they look great on my car! I plan to use them to transport kayaks! They are very sturdy and very trust worthy for transporting a couple of kayaks. I recommend these racks to anyone who has a 2016 or 2017 Nissan Altima!

Overall glad i finally got my cross bars after several weeks of waiting. One thing that is and was supposed to be with the bars are the “Rubberized Vortex strips” in the top channels. Which help with the wind noise I’m going to have..
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
These crossbars were easy to install, are sturdy when installed and look great on my factory side rails when installed with the SX Series legs. The standard end caps are an all-plastic affair and use a little key to engage a cam lock. That plus the distance from the end of the crossbar to the nut that tightens the foot onto the rail keeps things relatively secure. Most people probably want to opt for proper locking end caps, though.
The rubber vortex strips look nice and give items something grippy to rest on. I haven't tried a load test yet but did drive around in moderate wind on the highway in multiple directions. Other than a slight whistle at 70 mph, you'd never know they were there. Overall, real happy with the product and looking forward to hauling some stuff around with them.

Great sturdy rack. I put it together myself and have already started using it. I was concerned that it would cause leaks in the door the way it has to mount..but its Florida and its rainfall in the past few days and no leak! The weak link would be the end caps..two do not lock on and im concerned the will fly off at some point.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
The bars look and feel great. They have such a tough presence while still being aerodynamic. I love the look of the rubber grip strip on top and I like how the rubber strip on the bottom ends have graduations so you can easily match the overhang with the other side. They feel incredible strong, no bend in the them at all. If the platforms were a bit more robust this thing would outshine all the competition. However, it competes with every other system at a much lower price point so that gets 5 stars in my book.

This is a quality product. From the web site to the rack parts to the assembly instructions, it was easy to assemble and the quality was impressive. I own 3 Thule racks, 2 Yakima and now this set of Rhino racks with Aero bars and I couldn't be more pleased. When my Mom gifted me her 2003 Toyota Corolla with only 42,000 miles on it, I decided to make it my daily driver. My Friday includes dawn patrol surfing, so I needed a way to carry surfboards and I wasn't sure I could get roof racks that worked.

My Rhino-Rack Aero 2500 roof racks fit solidly on my 2007 Honda Civic EX. I was really impressed with the construction and strength of the rack system. Also the versatility of the 'legs' with a swivel pad allow them to fit any roof pitch perfectly. The clamps are so solid, nothing could knock these racks off. I added a paddleboard attachment and went surfing today. The black racks also look great with the black trim on my silver Honda. Great product at a much better price than Yakima or Thule.

Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Overall I like the rack. Aero bars are quiet, rubber grip strip on top is nice. Product is high quality. My only gripe is the mounting feet and it’s fit on the Mercedes Metris. Each foot is only able to utilize one bolt hole on the factory placed mounts. Using 2 per foot would be much better like in most other applications I imagine. But once it’s all assembled and installed (which is very easy) it seems fine. Height spacer blocks are perfect, bars are all on the same plane. Looks good too! etrailer also has real people working customer support who answer the phone and help you out. I highly recommend the rack and buying from etrailer!

These are super sturdy. Bought the Rhino Rack system after reading all the reviews. This is a very very nice system. Very sturdy and well-built.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
RhinoRack is a good product -- solid and strong on the car. Assembly instructions have some gaps. (1) No explanation of how to insert the rubber strip: Eventually I semi-rolled it lengthwise to get both edges into the channel. (2) No explanation of the SUB numbers printed on the clamps. Turns out that one pair is for the front rack and one pair for the rear, but you have to trial-install a clamp or two to figure that out.

Well built. Just not a good fit for my f150 roof. It makes a lot of vibrating noise in the cab from wind. I got them for the snowboard rack and for 16 ft canoe. Hope this helps anyone who is planning on using them for similar uses. Maybe look for something else.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Matches the two rails ordered previously and allows me to have three cross bars on the spaced out across the roof of my F250 cab and camper cap. With the correct spacing it allows me to transport a 26ft rowing shell centered on the truck minimizing the overhang at both ends of the truck.

These whistle when I drive, solved problem with tape on the entire underside of both crossbars. The rubber strip on the top is pushed into the bar when the canoe is strapped tight. I should have gone with different style.

I found it easier to install by assembling entirely and making measurement adjustments based on fit. The rack is fantastic in design, all screws and bolts are hidden. Easy to pop off the bars for car washes etc. Ram caps are not square, they are tapered so I think bolting everything up and adjusting your measurements is a simple way to make sure that you have a good fit. I used painters tape and a sharpie on the topper; isopropyl alcohol takes off the sharpie ink. I also use construction flexible adhesive / sealant over the bolt holes to try to minimize water intrusion and protect the substrate of the fiberglass cap.

Received the roof rack on the date promised, it was well packaged and all parts required were included. Everything fit together very well and the instructions were easy to follow. The rack looks good on the car. Once the rack is installed and the included decals in place it only takes a few minutes to remove it and reinstall. This is important for me because we will only use the racks to transport our kayaks the rest of the time they will be removed and stored.
There are two small items that can be improved. First the legs are different lengths yet nowhere in the instructions does it tell you where each size goes. Second I own 10 tape measure and not one of them is in meters and I do not care how good your eyesight is you are not going to be able to measure to 53/64". If the measurements are critical you should ensure customers in the US have measurements they can use or include a MM tape measure.
Overall this is a very good product that I would purchase again and recommend to friends.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Absolutely superior quality roof rack. The measurements were spot on to get the perfectly molded rubber feet to sit where they should. I am super happy with the fit, finish, and quality of the product. Well worth the investment for years if not decades to come I’m sure.

I had a 99$ cheapo set of bars that had corroded and figured I would upgrade to these. These things are hot garbage. Every had a 4 year old that just learned to whistle, whistle in your ear for 6 hours? That's this. With my old cheapo bars + my thule XT rack iy didn't make a peep. Rhino-rack + thule XT and I've got a piccolo brigade on my roof. I'm truly disappointed in these bars.

Fairly easy to install onto my 2017 Honda CR-V. The crossbars feel very sturdy and are securely attached to the vehicle. Took me about 30 minutes to get it installed and could be done even quicker if you get help from another person. The bars themselves are a little fat so my Thule ski rack has a super tight fit. There is very minimal wind noise, so I'll probably be getting a fairing for that. The instructions felt a bit jumbled but with just the measurements alone, you can install it with a bit of common sense.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
The parts were simple to install. The foam padding did drop out as I manipulated the parts, so being aware of its placement during installation was important.
The neat, clean appearance of the items provides a nice look for my 2012 Kia Sorento.
The process took about thirty minutes to complete. I watched the installation videos to prepare, and was glad I did so. The small trim pieces which go beneath the cross bars (in the adjustment slots) proved the most challenging pieces to measure. I recommend placing the cross bars on the towers and measuring everything for location first, then figuring out how much material you need for those slots. The last, short bit of trim may be measured just prior to installing the end caps, and you can poke it in the slot and trim it in place.

Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
The instructions were clear and the rack installed perfectly. I am impressed with the custom foot mouldings that match my car's contours exactly, and the rack is still as tight as when I installed it 4 weeks ago. I have been using it frequently to pick up 8' lumber for a large shelving project I have underway, and I hope to soon use it to carry my kayaks. The rubber strips on the top hold the lumber so securely I have no worry of having the load slip off the car. The two negatives I have are: (1) the crossbar end-caps consist of 2 locking and 2 slip-ons. I have come out to my car to see 1 of the slip-ons half slipped-off and I expect I will lose one or both of them in short order; and (2) the instructions should put the forward bar at least 1 inch further forward. As you will see in the photo, Rhino's guidelines result in the front bar being higher than the back bar, which results in additional wind pressure on the goods being carried.
Finally, I would like to thank etrailer for shipping the product exactly as promised and also for packaging the entire order in an additional box as I requested. I found your service to be outstanding!

Roof rack was a tight fit for 2015 Dodge Dart…quarter inch wider and it would not have fit…and the two racks therefore had to be placed in very specific spots on roof to fit. But it did and has worked very well to add quality crossbars to a vehicle that normally would not have an option. Son added kayak carrier and regularly hauls his 10 foot kayak and on occasion a second.

Installed on 2014 F-150 w/ fiberglass topper. Almost downgraded kit a star because of the instructions... incomplete and some important errors... so do the math and don't trust the indicated 5-5/8" spacing for drilling the mounting holes... you'll end up w/ extra holes you'll need to go back and fill... recommend keeping it simple, two are 5/8" in from both ends, and then just mark at 9", 18", 27", 36", 45" and 54" for the other six hole, from either end. There are eight bolts for each side, but only six rubber grommets, had to presume since the two end ones go thru the rubber end cap they didn't need/get a grommet. Did it by myself; definitely recommend a second pair of hands to at least hold the other end the rail during marking, a helper would have made installation a whole lot simpler and faster. But the end results make it all worthwhile.

Easy to read instructions, easy to install. Watched the install video a few times just to be sure! They do whistle a bit at highway speeds, but certainly not unbearable. In fact, I was surprised as to how quiet they are. It's to be expected, especially when paired with kayak j-racks. So happy with this purchase and I would definitely recommend them!

The bars are well made, strong and light. While quieter than the square bar rack I had on my previous car, these bars still add quite a bit of wind noise on the highway. These are the only bars I’ve had on this vehicle, so I can’t say if they improve fuel economy over the square bars. I gave them 4 stars because I was hoping they’d have been quieter, but the aerodynamics of the car have a lot to do with that as well; they might be much quieter on a different car.

The final installed product is great. Install took a couple of hours. Th main slow down was the rails mounted to the roof of my truck camper were too long so I needed to cut them down to size. Also the assembly for mounting the cross bars has a lot of small screws and locks. I took my time and the final results are great.

Installed on a 2013 Explorer. Went on perfectly with the SXB legs. Bars extend past the legs 3" for a very nice appearance. Silver bars/black feet on a silver Explorer is perfect.
Will likely use the bars to mount a cargo carrier on (16-18 CF) but haven't done it yet.
Just the most faint/slight whistle at 65 MPH. Can only be heard with no radio on. Absolutely no issue.
Solid as a rock.

Solid platform for all your gear. Easy to install and adjust, great looking as well. Initially I was frustrated because I failed to insert the plastic ruler under the cross bar. If you don't cover all the gaps they will whistle like crazy!

The cost of the Roof rack is a bit overpriced, but quality of the rack is quite good, which you would expect. It shipped and delivered quick, and the communication was good. Works good, the mounting post bolts could have been a 1/4” longer for easier figment for the base towers to mount easier. I would recommend getting the Yakima system over Rhino Rack due to the mounting to the fixed mounts is much more simpler and 10 times easier without tools. Rhino Rack includes tools for mounting and very vague directions. The aero bars also have a rubber strip that is 100 times more difficult to install then Yakima’s and why wouldn’t it come installed already. This will probably be my last time to buy a rhino rack roof rack.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
etrailer was great but the "lock" on the end caps should not really be called locks - it's more like a "tighten" since even if they are locked into place you can just pull the end caps and they will come off. which means the rubbers are too short or soft or does not fit snug into the locking hole
it would be nice (but not required) to get some tips on how to get those rubber fittings in - do you put on one end and pull them through vs do you lay them on top and push them in. things like that which would help assembly even better

I used this rack to mount two 65lbs kayaks to my vehicle and travel. One of many trips was over a thousand miles (round trip) and they moved maybe half a centimeter a piece during. I was extremely pleased with how easily I could adjust them. The original shipment had everything that was supposed to be in it and the directions were realitively clear. I had them together and on in roughly an hour. Also, they look great. When they are off the roof the only issue I have arises. The rubber feet that sit directly on the roof tend to fall off easily. Not a big deal.

The folks at etrailer are great. Part of my order was backordered and they went out of their way to try and speed up delivery, even with the backorder delivery was very fast.
Installation (2017 Mazda hatchback) was easy but I must have misunderstood the directions because both front and rear spacing was too short (1 1/2"). No problem though as a slight adjustment that only took ten extra minutes at the most to resolve with no effect on the installation. I didn't time it but I bet the whole installation from unboxing to being done took less than an hour and it fits the car, both physically and aesthetically perfect. Pleased customer planning to buy some accessories real soon.

Wonderful roof rack. Used it to haul bikes, camping gear, a windsurfer and more! I have it on a 2017 Honda Civic Hatch and the only problem was actually with the car! The door seal on the car had become not so flexible, so when I'd close the door, it wouldnt seal around the hooks that grip the frame. I'd get leaking every time it rained.
SO! In conclusion, great roof rack, make sure your car door seals / weather stripping is up to the task.

Huge flaw in how the Vortex strips are installed. They come in a number of small odd shaped pieces. Very hard to install so they are flat - constant noise. And it looks awful with all of the bumps and gaps. Ostensibly they are small to allow attachments to connect to the rack without cutting BUT most people don't do this - so why not give us a single long piece (Preinstalled maybe?) and let the attachment people cut to fit. No way this is worth what I paid. I ended up cutting the pieces incorrectly and had to replace them as well. I shouldn't have to custom cut ANYTHING.

I just finished the install of the Rhino Rack 2500 with the Vortex Bars. It looks fantastic on my 2020 Silverado. It's solid and very well built. I'm a surfcaster on Long Island and I use 1 piece fishing rods up to 11ft long so the easiest and best way to transport them is on top of my vehicle. I selected this rack because it's aerodynamic and with the accessory channel I was able to easily attach them by sliding a 1inch stainless bolt and stainless washer in the channel. This hides the attachment and makes it impossible to remove unless you have the keys to access my rod rack which has a padlock.

I like the design and quality of the roof rack system. I'm a little concerned I could not get clamps to lay flat as depicted in directions. Non the less the rack appears to be solidly attached to the roof as I could not shake it loose. The car has been driven but so far without anything on the rack. And the rack clamps do not appear to have moved. Looking forward to transporting kayak in the coming weeks. Lastly, there has been no wind noise associated with the rack even with moon roof opened. So far I am satisfied with the purchase. Rack is mounted on 2005 Chevrolet Cobalt.

Great quality. I also love the rubber strip on top - you can put a canoe right on it without using foam pads. Not sure how long this strip will last, but I imagine it is possible to replace when needed. Noise level is pretty good compared to other racks I have used.
My only issue with the bar is that it is a little too thick for most standard strap hooks. You have to have larger hooks if you plan to fit them over these bars.

Bought these and the basket at the same time about a year ago. Both products have been a great addition to the car. Currently running without the basket and the bars look really nice. Good fitment!

Extremely sturdy and well made. I also like the locking endcap design. Only thing I dodnt like is the rubber channel strip is 4 separate pieces instead of one long strip. Maybe they do that so you can remove a section for installing accessories, but id prefer to simply cut it where needed.

Product was just as described. Instructions were very hard to read because they look like a copy of a copy and many of the pictures were very faded, but once you decipher them, installing the roof rack was pretty simple. It seems to be pretty sturdy and now I just need to start shopping for all of the attachments!

I spent a week reading reviews and forums to find the right one for my 2019 Jeep Cherokee that I just bought a few weeks ago. I just have to overthink everything but it paid off. I just received them this morning and installed them myself! First time for everything! It was really easy. The only part that was frustrating was the very first part... sliding the rubber pieces into the crossbars. They would not slide very well so I ended up using a bit of oil to make them slide better. Other than that, installation was easy and quick. I LOVE the looks of them. Very gorgeous!!! Thank you so much!! Very happy with the end result!!

This review covers the Rhino Rack 2500 Vortex Aero crossbars and associated parts (DK284, RRRLKVA, RRVA137S-2) for a naked roof installation on a 2018 Honda CR-V.
Very solid racks. We just took our first trip using them and the didn't budge. As recommended, a few days after installing, I tightened the bolts a bit. I'm not sure they needed it--just a little insurance.
The installation process was clear, but fairly detailed. It would be easy to miss a step, so take your time. Also, I tried a couple shortcuts in the order when installing on the car, but had to back track. So, go in the order they give you.
The racks easily supported our filled "pod" and a couple surfboards, strapped side-by-side. Sorry, no photos of the rack loaded. One thing to watch out for is that our old Thule pod almost didn't fit because of the thickness of the racks. I had to loosen the bolts almost entirely.
Of note: I feel that although I followed the measurements to the millimeter, the fit on our 2018 Honda CR-V wasn't exact. Where the pads sit on the roof of the car didn't align perfectly. I could have adjusted this by just re-trimming the rubber pads that go in the channels, but it's not a big deal, so I just left it.
Finally, I do have one concern. The angle of final installation doesn't really protect the racks from theft very well. The plastic plate that locks over the screw would allow someone with the proper tool to get up under it and loosen the bolts. That being said, someone so inclined could also just break the little plastic door or drill a hole in it to access the bolt. So, I guess it's just a deterrent anyway.
Overall, I'm very happy with the racks and etrailer.com! Despite shipping delays due to Covid-19, they were able to get the racks to me in time for an upcoming trip. I did choose to expedite shipping, but the cost was very reasonable.

Excellent product and the customer service and their help was AWESOME. It was so nice to actually talk to a live person on the phone to help with my order. My order was shipped complete in hours. Delivery to my address was actually day earlier then expected. The product in my opinion was super and the assembly and installation instructions were so easy to understand.
Thank you James for your assistance with my

Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
I bought the roof rack to carry kayaks back and forth from Pennsylvania to Florida. The rack is solid and performs that task very well. My plan was to take the rack off and on but I decided to just leave it on. I do notice some wind noise since I've added the rack but it does not distract me and I would say that it is not excessive but it is noticeable.
I did have problems during the installation. I mounted the racks on a Ford 250 super duty. And the instructions were very clear as to where the feet that's support the rack where to be installed. Plastic strips are cut and the feet that support the rack on the roof push up to the cut plastic strips and that is what determines placement. I read the instructions several times and had seen an installation on another truck owned by a friend of mine. When I pushed the feet to the proper position I could not attached the clamps from the rack feet to the rain gutter on the truck which holds the whole assembly on the roof. They were too short. I spoke to Etrailer and a consensus was that I had cut the strips correctly. Etrailer's input of course was over the phone and they could not actually see or measure anything that I did. Nevertheless, in order to install the rack I had to move the feet on each side a bit closer to the rain gutter on the truck. I did not think that this would make any difference and based on the performance I have not noticed any problems. I would have given this product and excellent rating if I did not have to deal with the little problem that I had with the fit. As I said I have not taken it off the roof and I reach up and check it now and then and it's as solid as the day I put it on.

First a big thanks to the Support Team! One of the Vortex Strips that ship inside of the load bars was wedged in there when I received them, and on top of that, not enough of the strips were provided to cover the entire length of the load bars. the etrailer team got them for me from Rhino-Rack and sent them out to me ASAP.
Installation was fairly simple. I highly recommend watching the installation video on YouTube in addition to reading the instructions. The instructions are well written, but watching someone else do it made it super easy to understand. Installation took me roughly 1 1/2 hours, mostly because I didn't watch the video until i was about 3/4 of the way done.
The racks are very sturdy and make no noticeable wind noise! Grabbing the towers and trying to move or shake them, I am actually moving the car, not the racks. I haven't strapped anything up yet, but I have full confidence that these racks can handle my needs (3 kayaks tied to a stacker system).

I use this on my 2016 Ford Focus sedan. It's awesome. Only issue I had is that with my canoe strapped down, the rubber strip collapsed down into the t track where the gunwale pressed on it, after a few months of use. I realized that 3/8 diameter rod, or stiff plastic tubing, was perfectly sized so that it could be laid in the track with the rubber strip installed normally over it. The tubing supports the rubber strip and keeps it from collapsing under the clamping pressure. Overall, this is a great system. Very solid and quiet.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Overall I’m very pleased. The rack and track components are all very high quality. Hardware too. My only complaint is that the installation instructions are not very good.
1-all the measurements are given in millimeters. Why?
2-there’s no mention in the instructions to leave the o ring off of the T bots on the ends. The t bolts on the ends have to be inserted in to the track end caps. The track end cap then becomes the seal for those holes. If you have the o rings on them too, the the track will not pull down flat on to the camper top.
3-the leg hardware needs partially assembled (screws, washers, hex nuts) and then the assembly slid on to the cross bars, then place the legs in to the mounting plates. Then fully tighten the screws. You’ll never get the screws started in to the hex nuts otherwise.
4-the vortex rubber strips are in short pieces. Why? I think they’d be better if they were one long piece.
Also, when installing the tracks, I found it easier to find the center of the camper top and work from that for placement of tracks. It’s very difficult to get good accurate measurements on the curved edges of camper top.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Only disappointment was that it came with 1 less rubber weather stripping than was needed. It’s not the end of the world, as the rack is still extremely well constructed and made. It looks pretty sleek and stylish too

Install was easy. I recommend watching the etrailer installation video a couple of times before starting, if you aren't mechanically inclined. I'm not. Also, if you have someone to help you, then installation will go much faster; otherwise, you spend half of your time walking back and forth around the vehicle. I've already loaded my tandem kayak on the roof rack twice and it's awesome. Was able to secure everything very easily. Highly recommend.

I purchased the Rhino Rack roof rack as an alternative to the factory installed products and the more popular Thule and Yakima brands. The Rhino Rack is solid and sleek and is largely silent while driving (if I have the roof open you can hear a soft whistle). Not only does the rack look fantastic, but the non-slip top and the strong bars make carrying things on top a real pleasure.
Review from a similar Vortex Aero in Roof Rack
Great racks! I installed them directly onto the roof of my camper shell. The install is pretty easy if you're a decent handy man - I had to drill 16 holes, the hardest part was making sure the tracks were parallel. I put painters tape on the roof of the car and marked lines and holes on the tape. The racks cause a slight whistle while on the freeway but only noticeable because I was listening for it.

The Rhino-Rack Vortex Aero kit for the 2019 Mercedes Benz Metris Worker van (no roof rails) is a perfect fit. The 3 racks are in perfect alignment with the spacer blocks and can be removed in about 3 minutes to take the van into the car wash.
Make sure you download the specific installation instructions from the manufacturer for the proper installation of the support legs.

The Rhino Rack is very well made. I installed it my self on our 2016 Ford Escape, but had an assist from my wife to fine tune it at the end. There was no whistling or any other distracting wind noise on our 3,500 mile drive to visit family out West. A Sear's Cargo Box was easily mounted to the Rhino Rack and it remained centered and secured at western highway speed limits plus. The included locks on the roof mounts were the selling point for me. The Rhino Rack remained securely mounted to the roof with no additional adjustments or tightening being needed. Great Product. Donna P. @ etrailer was super with the order.

LOVE my Rhino racks!! They were easy to install and are super functional. I drove across the country with my Thule roof bin, strap on my stand up paddle board, use an additional rear rack and carry 16’ lumber. I see a lot of other Ridgelines on the road and know they are jealous of my racks :-)

Attaches very easily in the door frames. Very unobtrusive and snug fit. Holds my 2 surfboards side by side. Drove 1800 miles on a long out of state trip with them still on. They had less than 1 mile per gallon drag through the entire trip. (I forgot the special star key at home and couldn't remove them. So, keep it in your glove box!)

The cross bars were part of a kit with the legs. Very sturdy. A little tricky to install but mainly you have to make sure the positioning is correct. The e-trailer video on assembly helped a lot. Am using them on a 2015 Ford Escape with a Thule Sidekick, at this time. Pay attention to your vehicle's recommended max roof load weight. The rhino bars are rated at 165 pounds, but Ford says only 100 pounds on the Escape's roof. The rhino bars weigh about 11 pounds and the Sidekick about 24 pounds, so that's 35 pounds without adding any load!

Great Fit and Great Looks. Great customer Service!!!
I have been a Thule guy for the last 20 years but thought I would give these a try based on reviews read.
Ordered the following for my 2016 Chevy Silverado:
1 Rhino-rack Vortex Aero Crossbars - 59 - Silver - Qty 2
1 Rhino-rack 2500 Leg Kit For Vortex Aero Crossbars - Qty 4
1 Dk Fit Kit For Rhino Rack 2500 Series Legs - Naked - Qty 4
Received the order from etrailer and upon opening the crossbar package I noticed that the rubber inserts were not in the box. e-mailed customer service and Carol C responded within an hour and said she would have them sent out within 24 hours.
About 30 minutes later, Carol called me as she was getting the order ready to ship and said that the Rhino racks typically put the rubber inserts inside the bars and not in the box. She waited on the line while I checked and sure enough she was right.
Installation instructions were good but I recommend watching the installation video on youtube that makes the directions easier to work with.
Fitment was perfect. And these are fit to my truck so reinstallation is a breeze especially with the small marker arrows for alignment. (unlike my old thules with the crossbars that had to be remeasured every installation) They also hold my thule kayak racks and my bike racks.
Thank you Carol and etrailer for a great product and experience.

Take your time and follow the directions step by step, measure things out as per directions. Once you have it installed the first time its fairly quick if you need to take it off. Its not the type you want to put on and off daily or weekly but that's the point of a roof type rack. The rack is silent with sunroof closed at highway speeds, no whistling or howling as in some roof rails I've had. With sunroof open you can hear a considerable additional wind noise as the air moves over the front bar but that is to be expected and still no whistling or howling. VERY SATISFIED.

Excellent price and quick shipping. Excellent support for missing bar end cap. Rack was easy to put together and install and video was helpful. My only complaint is when trying to tie down kayak to cradle it is not easy to keep the loop over the top of the upright "U" shaped bar, it keeps siding down. We wrapped two pieces of foam around the bar to create a channel to hold the strap now it is easy.

These things are strong and quiet! I have them mounted on my Land Rover Discovery Sport using the SRB legs by Rhino Rack. I've had furniture, lumber, ladders, tools, canoe, and a roof rack piled up there at some point or another and I don't have to worry about them slipping at all!!!! I've done this so much that the rubber strips are showing some wear and have frayed a bit where they've pinched the aluminum, but it's still rock solid. That's my only grip. Hopefully the replacement strips are affordable when I replace them in a year or two. I'd buy another Rhino Rack product in a heartbeat. They look great on my car and are strong and quiet on the road. I feel I made the right choice.

Please see my review about the Rhino Rack Legs for these Aero Crossbars. They work great! Very little noise, if any at all. My only issue was the lack of documentation. I had to figure out how to get the end caps off myself (and if I didn't have the legs, which came with a "key", I wouldn't have been able to get the end caps off because the "key" is stored within the runner of the Crossbars). Anyway, so far, these have worked great. I put a Rola roof carrier on them. So far, it's holding up well. We're taking them on a trip from Charlotte to several places in Michigan the week of 4th of July. They'll all get a good workout then.

Custom RCP fit Kit was the perfect solution for my 2019 equinox with fixed mounting points. GM seems to have discontinued the cross bars for my model and etrailer is the only place I could source a rhino rack that fit. Now, the -1 star... The instructions provided by Rhino were horrible or non-existent. The cross bar literally had no instructions and I couldn't even find them for my model online.
