Today on our 2014 Chevy Cruze, we'll be test-fitting the Rhino Rack 2500 series roof rack with Aero Crossbars in silver, part number DA126, as well as the custom DK clamps and pads for Rhino Rack 2500 series roof rack systems, part number DK142. With everything assembled already according to the included instructions, we first begin our test-fit by undoing the front passenger and driver's side door. With this done, we'll go ahead and place the front crossbar onto the front of our roof. Now, we'll need to measure from the center of the door jam to the center of our front bar. We'll measure 340 mm on both the passenger and driver's side of the vehicle. This will ensure that the front bar is perpendicular to the roof of our Cruz.
Also on a Chevy Cruz, there are indentations on the roof line where the clamp should be placed. Once we have the front bar in position, we then can use the included tensioning tool to tighten down the black bolt on the inside of the tower. We'll need to alternate sides when tightening them down so that the bar doesn't favor one side of the vehicle. With the front bar secured, we can close the doors and replace our locking covers. Now, we'll go ahead and place our rear bar onto the rear of our roof and we'll need to measure the crossbar spread. Now, the crossbar spread is the measurement from the center of the front crossbar to the center of the rear crossbar and is important when choosing roof rack accessories.
Also at the rear of the vehicle are the indentations on the roof line indicating where the clamp of the roof rack should be. We'll need to measure the crossbar spread on both the passenger and driver's side of the vehicle to ensure that both bars are parallel to each other. Once we have the rear bar in position, we can again use the included tensioning tool to tighten down the black bolt on the inside of the tower which will bring the clips up around tightly against the roof line. Again, we're going to tighten each side a little bit at a time so that the bar doesn't favor one side of the vehicle. Once we have everything all tightened down and secured, we can go ahead and replace our other 2 locking covers. That will complete today's test-fit of the Rhino Rack 2500 series roof rack with Aero Crossbars, part number DA126, as well as the custom DK clamps and pads for the Rhino Rack 2500 series roof racks, part number DK142, on our 2014 Chevy Cruze.

This rack works perfectly on my Nissan Versa for carrying my two Perception Sound 9'6" kayaks. The Rhino-Racks look good to me. The kayaks can rest directly on the rubber pads on the rails, unlike the Yakama racks I had in the past that had bare pipe rails. Also, I expect I can buy parts to adapt this product to a different car without having to buy new towers. I am sorry there are not hooks or loops to attach bungees when carrying lumber. They are noisy in the wind, but less so when carrying the kayaks. 338883

Amazing product. Fit, finish, quality is absolutely amazing! Have hauled our bikes all over MI, through the UP, and back. They never moved. Rack is super simple to remove from the rails to grant full access to the PU bed. I think this is one of the Best options out there for taking your bikes with you while still having your covered bed space. I also can install a Ski box for the winter. I was able to transfer my Rhino Rack bars and 2500 series platforms from my C-Max to my Mazda 5 with just changing the foot kit from one specific to the C-Max to the fixed point type for the Mazda 5. Some savings from buying a new setup entirely. I took the risk the bars' length might be an issue - turned out okay. *** In changing the roof rack from one car to another, make sure to buy 4 total of the measuring strips for the roof racks (#RRM641). Excellent product! Fits like a glove on my 2016 Hyundai Elantra. Install was fairly quick and painless. My dad and I installed it in about 20 minutes with no problems. I would definitely recommend installing this with two people to make sure the bars are evenly spaced on the vehicle. I love the way it looks and you can tell it is great quality. I plan to leave the rack on permanently and just change out the various gear attachments. I also bought the Rhino Rack Bike Mount and they fit perfectly together. There is very little wind noise and you can't even hear it when the sunroof is closed. I got up to 60ish mph and only noticed some noise when the radio was off and I was actively listening for any extra noises. I am very impressed with this roof rack already. I bought this roof rack kit for my 2015 Nissan Rogue awd 5-dr. The shipping time was excellent and everything arrived together and undamaged. The instructions are simple and easy to follow and I had it put together and ready to mount in about 30 min. Aligning it on the roof is definitely easier with two people, but can be done alone. The forward rack's rubber feet fit seamlessly on the roof of my car and tightened snugly with no worries of it flying off. Be sure to follow the directions for the included torque wrench and everything will form perfectly. The rear rack's rubber feet form is a little off and they don't sit flush with the car's body, but after torquing to the required tightness the rear rack fit securely with only a tiny gap between the body and feet. On the road, I made it up to 75 mph before any whistling was noticed, but some music at mid volume drowned it out. Be sure to cut the rubber and fit everything as precise as possible. This will prevent drag and whistling. The quality of the metal and plastic isn't as high as other brands, but when those other brands don't fit your car you have to compromise and this would be my top pick. 253160

Where do I start? I've been whitewater kayaking for 22 or so years now. I've always used used either Yakima or Thule products... Until I bought a 2015 Nissan Rogue with a naked roof. The curvature of the roof and large door jams mean that Yakima and Thule can't make racks for them. I went to a place that does custom installs and again because of the curvature of the roof, they couldn't give me a rack. This meant no kayaking which is really bad news. Enter the Rhino rack system. I purchased the feet, the fit kit, the cross bars and a Yakima "big stack" stacker. The first issue I had is the reccomended size for the Nissan Rogue is only 48 inches. Way too small too haul 4-5 (very light) whitewater kayaks. I called etrailer and they were SUPER helpful, told me I can buy the 65 in cross bars and they'll work fine. I held my breath and placed my order. I was nervous leaving my trusted name brands. The order arrived super fast (they told me it would arrive by Friday but it actually arrived on Thursday) and everything was packaged rock solid. I was impressed. I read the instructions and put the rack system on my car. It took about a hour (it was hot and I worked slowly) but the rack system is SUPER SOLID. I love it. Rhino might have a "forever" customer out of me. -The rack system is very stable. I can't move it with my hands by pushing or pulling. -The rubber stripping you put on the top and bottom of the bar is an awesome added feature AND it reduces wind noise. -Adding the fairing reduced wind noise even further. With four boats on the roof you couldn't hear any extra noise. The ONE thing I dislike is that you need to use the supplied Allen wrench to take the rack on and off the car. It's a small complaint, but other systems I've used in the past don't have them. I paid much less for this system than I would have if I purchased one of the aforementioned systems, but I'm really really satisfied with the product. We will see how well it holds up over long-term use, but it looks awesome! 411250

The folks at etrailer are great. Part of my order was backordered and they went out of their way to try and speed up delivery, even with the backorder delivery was very fast. Installation (2017 Mazda hatchback) was easy but I must have misunderstood the directions because both front and rear spacing was too short (1 1/2"). No problem though as a slight adjustment that only took ten extra minutes at the most to resolve with no effect on the installation. I didn't time it but I bet the whole installation from unboxing to being done took less than an hour and it fits the car, both physically and aesthetically perfect. I was looking for roof racks for a Honda CRV to haul my kayaks. Found a "great deal" on a square tube Rhino Rack through etrailer.com and snatched it up. Upon receipt I had trouble fitting the racks to the vehicle per the enclosed Rhino Rack instructions - they just didn't look right when mounted to the vehicle. I contacted Rhino Rack by e-mail looking for a video or photos showing the racks on a CRV to confirm how they should look and was informed that the square tube style rack had been discontinued. They offered to send me new aero tubes at no charge. I admitted that I felt bad accepting the offer but, if they wanted to do that, I would gladly accept. The new aero tubes arrived and the assembly went together exactly as I imagined. I have yet to use the racks for hauling kayaks, but have hauled lumber, ladders, and various other long articles on the racks. They have performed very well, are easy to install and remove, and look good on the vehicle. Yes, they do add a bit of wind noise when driving but even that was not nearly as bad as expected. Based on the pricing I received from etrailer.com and beyond customer service I received from Rhino Rack, I would not hesitate to recommend both companies to anyone. 939671

Bought this with the Rhino-Rack Aero bars and the 2500 kit. The rubber on these smelled really bad but they offer enough cushion to were they should not damage your car. The hooks are lined with a rubber pads to prevent scratching, but I also placed 3M clear tape on the car where the hooks are placed as well. The hooks do kind of interfere with the weather strips on the door but other than that this kit is very solid 936785

I looked online to find them and I only found one measurement for Jetta's 2011 and newer. I have a 2020 jetta and the measurements were not right at all. The protective part that goes against the car does not fit the top perfectly I had to adjust to make them fit.Took way longer than it should have to install. 895923

The Rhino roof rack held up pretty good. However, for my 2016 Honda Civic 4 dr. The front rack did not snuggle in like the rear rack because of the closer proximity of the vehicle's shoulders. It kept popping out. The metal strap that goes inside the doorway was the only thing that help keep it in place. Suggestion. Make the Rhino plastic pieces that attaches into the roof's shoulder longer and give the installer the option to shave it down if needed. 871872

I just finished the install of the Rhino Rack 2500 with the Vortex Bars. It looks fantastic on my 2020 Silverado. It's solid and very well built. I'm a surfcaster on Long Island and I use 1 piece fishing rods up to 11ft long so the easiest and best way to transport them is on top of my vehicle. I selected this rack because it's aerodynamic and with the accessory channel I was able to easily attach them by sliding a 1inch stainless bolt and stainless washer in the channel. This hides the attachment and makes it impossible to remove unless you have the keys to access my rod rack which has a padlock. 871404

Mechanically it works fine but .. the "howl" due to wind resistance is unacceptable. We did a one way trip with our kayak on top but on return without the kayak ( bare rails) we stopped to remove the roof rack due to the excessive noise. I do realize that you offered a "streamlined bar version" but didn't anticipate the loudness of the item we purchased. Is there a way to dampen that effect? When storing the assembled rails the "pads" are not fixed to the rail/legs and come off (and get separated) I have resorted to trying them on to prevent loss. Nice if they could be better attached. Excellent fit for my Prius V. Once installed with the rest of the setup, the bars have remained firmly in place and easily accommodate a rooftop carrier. Be aware that the first setup is time consuming as you must keep checking measurements and making small adjustments. I was a little nervous that maybe I bit off too much trying to install my own roof rack. I went a local rack dealer and they told me my only option for my Mini Cooper was to bolt on a Yakima rack and they wanted $900. I didn’t want something so permanent and this was a beyond the price point that I wanted to pay. I went to the dealer and they wanted $600 and suggested if I wanted to save money, to see what was on-line. I bough the Rhino Rack with the Mini Cooper kit and I couldn’t be happier. It matches my car perfectly and is a very solid and good looking rack. It cost me half of what the dealer charged. It did take me 3-4 hours to install it. This was mostly because it was my first time doing it and I wanted to measure everything perfectly. If I was to do it over again, I could probably install it in less than 2 hours. All in all, I am very satisfied. etrailer was very responsive and sent me a personal email letting me know that I could call or email them with any questions. Rhino Vortex Aero Crossbars are truly excellent. I have a set on my 2013 Charger and a set on our 2017 Ram 1500. They're strong, solid, and have essentially no wind noise. I really don't notice the difference with them on or off as far as noise is concerned. Bought this kit for my 2018 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport. The only reason it didn't get 5 stars was because the install instructions weren't clear. To be fair, I should have measured the fixed points on my car on my own rather than relying on the provided spreadsheets. It only took me between 5-10 minutes to make the neccessary adjustments as I was mounting the crossbars and was a pretty easy fix to make. Just frustrating in the heat. Also, when tightening the mounts to my car, I wasn't aware a wrench would be needed and didn't have any available. Had to buy a set, and none of them fit properly (bought in inches, should have gone metric I suppose?) Other than that, great product. Bought a kayak mount to put on and held it well for a 500+ mile trip. 9/10 would reccomend. 851822

This review covers the Rhino Rack 2500 Vortex Aero crossbars and associated parts (DK284, RRRLKVA, RRVA137S-2) for a naked roof installation on a 2018 Honda CR-V. Very solid racks. We just took our first trip using them and the didn't budge. As recommended, a few days after installing, I tightened the bolts a bit. I'm not sure they needed it--just a little insurance. The installation process was clear, but fairly detailed. It would be easy to miss a step, so take your time. Also, I tried a couple shortcuts in the order when installing on the car, but had to back track. So, go in the order they give you. The racks easily supported our filled "pod" and a couple surfboards, strapped side-by-side. Sorry, no photos of the rack loaded. One thing to watch out for is that our old Thule pod almost didn't fit because of the thickness of the racks. I had to loosen the bolts almost entirely. Of note: I feel that although I followed the measurements to the millimeter, the fit on our 2018 Honda CR-V wasn't exact. Where the pads sit on the roof of the car didn't align perfectly. I could have adjusted this by just re-trimming the rubber pads that go in the channels, but it's not a big deal, so I just left it. Finally, I do have one concern. The angle of final installation doesn't really protect the racks from theft very well. The plastic plate that locks over the screw would allow someone with the proper tool to get up under it and loosen the bolts. That being said, someone so inclined could also just break the little plastic door or drill a hole in it to access the bolt. So, I guess it's just a deterrent anyway. Overall, I'm very happy with the racks and etrailer.com! Despite shipping delays due to Covid-19, they were able to get the racks to me in time for an upcoming trip. I did choose to expedite shipping, but the cost was very reasonable. 845367

The kayaks have chis crossed the county twice on this rack. Installed on a 2014 Chevy Volt. So far I am unsure how the racks will affect the electric range on the car, however they look great, and produce minimal noise when driving up to 55 mph (I have not tested it at higher speeds). They were simple to put on, the instructions were easy enough (although I did find I had to add a few millimeters of spacing to make the racks fit correctly). Primary use will be a bike rack, although they will be used for skis and a canoe as well. I would recommend as an affordable option for a Volt, as there are not many options to begin with. One piece of advice: The feet can easily slip over the measuring strips, and at first this made me believe that the provided measurements were incorrect. Been wanting to get a roof rack for my small Honda H-RV suv for some time now. Finally decided to pull the trigger on one and opted for this Rhino rack system. Watching the etrailer install video and following the manufacturer's instruction, the front rack went on easily and perfectly. However, the rear track turned out to be a very long process. Why? Because I thought the manufacturer's measurements for the rear was an error. After the rack was assembled, it didn't seat into the roof channel at all. It appeared to be well short. So, I proceeded to use my mechanical ingenuity to get this rack to fit on my own. After a lengthy span of time and numerous adjustments, I'd come to realize that the manufacturer's measurements were correct. The footing did not sit perfectly until the unit was fully tightened against the vehicle. Live and learn.....once again. The rack is absolutely solid, and looks very clean and sharp on top of the H-RV. I could not detect any additional noise while driving, even at highway speed. The main purpose of this roof rack was for transporting my recreational kayak. I was not aware that these bars had a rubber strip running along the entire top of the bar. This turned out to be perfect for the kayak. Now, I didn't need to buy a specific kayak cradle. The kayak, one strapped down, is held absolutely secured to the rack. I am very happy with this product! Once again, etrailer comes through perfectly with another of my order. Prompt service and indepth product info are the reasons why I shop here! 824303

The rack is great! The first especially cold day caused it to loosen, and the first especially hot day had it shift a little, but I expected that. The indexed plastic things that you cut to length expanded as well, pushing the end caps off, but that is easy as well- clip them again! The important part of the install directions, namely the measurements, was totally useless. It says go forward from B pilar measurement "A" and backward measurement "B". That is very clear, However my car is a 2 door and B>A. Either way, I figured out my own measurements and get about 20 inches of spread. A lot of attachments don't work, so I've had to make a couple DIY racks that end up better than stock. (I lost the initial photos of the rack, so here are a few other pics) (Thule Air Deflector cut the wind noise a lot, and gave a nice base for stickers) 821932

Either way I cut the euro bar measurement strips as described in the instructions but when I put the assembled bars on my car the rack supports Were about 3 inches to close together. I beat the heck out of this rack on a Daily basis. I throw kayaks, luggage, several 16 and 20ft 2x6’s, plywood, camping gear, and anything else large and typically put into the bed of a truck. You wouldn’t believe me unless I showed you the kind of life my equipment has. It’s gotta be tough. I do wish that it had a better grip strength forward and backwards because unless the load is heavy and large enough, if a strap is used from front rack to back rack, the racks tend to slide towards eachother as it ratchets tighter. However if you run the strap across and hook the strap back onto the same bar, the way the rack flexes causes the grip to be immovable and is incredibly secure. But with no load, I can hammer fist the racks forward or back wards even when tightened down with the torque wrench. So I feel maybe some minor adjustments by the company would definitely solve this. All in all, yes it’s a bit on the higher price side, It’s got that one con (sliding), but has definitely exceeded it’s factory “max load” specification and structural integrity. I would recommend this product. It’s a great rack. 798926

I have a 2016 Ford Edge that had a naked roof. No roof rack of any kind. I purchased this Rhino Rack Vortex Aero Crossbar complete kit(RRVA137B-2, RRRLKVA and DK432) and the Rhino Ski and Snowboard carrier RR576. Once you got all of the pieces laid out and read the easy to follow instructions. We also watched a video on you tube. I say it took my brother and I about 2 hours. We were being extra careful and made sure we were understanding each part of the instructions. Especially when it came to the measuring and cutting of the vortex strips. You don't want to mess up on that. I am very happy with the quality and the ease of the installation. You do feel a little wind resistance when driving. I have been driving around town to get a feel of the car. We are leaving on our snowboarding trip tomorrow. I will try to add an update when I have fully used the product. 761874

The boxes were delivered quickly and promptly (earlier than expected). The instructions were easy to follow. I just needed the space to lay everything out and to match the numbers to the correct items. My only issue was that the specs for my 2016 Nissan Versa Note SV asked for 144mm for the front, but in fact, it needed to be 148mm. The rear asked for 142mm, but it needed to be 144.5mm. Once I figured that out, the rest was straight forward. The crossbars are super sturdy and the rubberized top is a nice add to keep things from slipping. Thank you! I've only just installed this rack but it seems alright so far. The most annoying thing for installation was the length to cut the rubber strips was wrong in the instructions. Installation was relatively easy. Like others have mentioned here, make sure you pay attention to the instructions. Make sure the pads with arrows are pointing to the front of the car and you're relatively accurate with the suggested mounting measurements. I rode with them on the car for about 900 miles - hot and rainy weather - and they make a really weird noise. Haven't been able to confirm if the noise came from the wind rushing in between the roof and the bars, or, as my uncle thinks, from the slot spaces under the bars that hold the 4 mounts. I later attached a Leader Accessories Upgraded Roof Rack (64"x 39"x 5') carrier basket to the top of the rails and the noise went away. The carrier has a wind deflector in the front, go figure. I drove another 1000 miles with the rails and carrier with some stuff in it and it handled very well. In any case, I like the way they look on our 2016 Honda CRV SE. Admittedly, I'm scared to take the mounts off to see if they leave a dent or scratch. I'm pretty sure they will, but still happy with them. I'll try and update this review after I remove them. 705640

Car has slanting roof and variable thickness roofline. See photo. OEM rack position would make front of kayak point up in the air causing dangerous lift. Rhino rack provides different length clamps for the slanting/tapering thickness roofline - rack is positioned for level load. Etrailer excellent website with detailed photos allows easy comparison. The parts were all high quality and went together easily. It mounted easily and have it on our Honda Pilot with a Thule box. Box does sit farther forward than if on bars on factory rails. I did have one problem, We put it together per instructions which called for one distance between feet for our bar but this was to short. We found a sticker on the ox saying to use one of the other measurements and this worked fine. We hadn't buttoned it up with end caps etc. just in case so wasn't bad. I would have also liked an explanation by the bolts holding the bar on were only tightened so much. They seemed loose, may bar needs some give? anyway it looks good and seems to be up to the task. I have the rack on a 2019 slick top Pilot. Didn't want the rails and crossbars nor the expense and I look forward to having a slick roof come snow season when cleaning off the roof of snow as we park outside. 704023

I bought the roof rack to carry kayaks back and forth from Pennsylvania to Florida. The rack is solid and performs that task very well. My plan was to take the rack off and on but I decided to just leave it on. I do notice some wind noise since I've added the rack but it does not distract me and I would say that it is not excessive but it is noticeable. I did have problems during the installation. I mounted the racks on a Ford 250 super duty. And the instructions were very clear as to where the feet that's support the rack where to be installed. Plastic strips are cut and the feet that support the rack on the roof push up to the cut plastic strips and that is what determines placement. I read the instructions several times and had seen an installation on another truck owned by a friend of mine. When I pushed the feet to the proper position I could not attached the clamps from the rack feet to the rain gutter on the truck which holds the whole assembly on the roof. They were too short. I spoke to Etrailer and a consensus was that I had cut the strips correctly. Etrailer's input of course was over the phone and they could not actually see or measure anything that I did. Nevertheless, in order to install the rack I had to move the feet on each side a bit closer to the rain gutter on the truck. I did not think that this would make any difference and based on the performance I have not noticed any problems. I would have given this product and excellent rating if I did not have to deal with the little problem that I had with the fit. As I said I have not taken it off the roof and I reach up and check it now and then and it's as solid as the day I put it on. 703778

etrailer.com's videos and additional customer support made the purchase of a Rhino Rack system from them for our 2010 Malibu a no brainer. The rack fit the car perfectly, and with the videos and clear instructions that came with the kit, I got it installed on the car with only one misstep. The instructions came the the measurements in centimeters and inches. I didn't have a metric tape measure, and ended up messing up converting fractions to decimal. My Daughter is going to college 500 miles away and is moving into an unfurnished apartment and needed to pick up some small furniture that wouldn't fit in her Malibu. She purchased several items from Facebook Marketplace and was able to transport a twin bed and mattress, a medium sized desk and some dining room chairs (in several trips) with no problems. The only thing I can think of to improve the installation would be to have the Inches measurements in decimal or to include an inexpensive metric tape. 691227

About 30 minutes later, Carol called me as she was getting the order ready to ship and said that the Rhino racks typically put the rubber inserts inside the bars and not in the box. She waited on the line while I checked and sure enough she was right. Installation instructions were good but I recommend watching the installation video on youtube that makes the directions easier to work with. Fitment was perfect. And these are fit to my truck so reinstallation is a breeze especially with the small marker arrows for alignment. (unlike my old thules with the crossbars that had to be remeasured every installation) They also hold my thule kayak racks and my bike racks. First a big thanks to the Support Team! One of the Vortex Strips that ship inside of the load bars was wedged in there when I received them, and on top of that, not enough of the strips were provided to cover the entire length of the load bars. the etrailer team got them for me from Rhino-Rack and sent them out to me ASAP. Installation was fairly simple. I highly recommend watching the installation video on YouTube in addition to reading the instructions. The instructions are well written, but watching someone else do it made it super easy to understand. Installation took me roughly 1 1/2 hours, mostly because I didn't watch the video until i was about 3/4 of the way done. The racks are very sturdy and make no noticeable wind noise! Grabbing the towers and trying to move or shake them, I am actually moving the car, not the racks. I haven't strapped anything up yet, but I have full confidence that these racks can handle my needs (3 kayaks tied to a stacker system). 678720

This is a very sturdy rack. It fits great on my car and it's easy to use. My only issue was with the original installation. The instructions had an error with the placement of the rack feet on the crossbar. I used the dimensions given in the manual but they were off by 10 cm. I had to adjust the feet in 10 cm on each side of the crassbar for the feet to sit correctly on the roof of my car. A very minor issue. Overall, a great rack system. I finally had a chance to use the rack I put on my car (Toyota Camry) and I can now say that it worked perfectly. My 12.6” kayak fit nicely on the rack and was easily secured. Though the rack was easy to install, I worried that I might not have the strength to tighten the screws enough to insure that it would stay put on the roof. But the tool that comes with the rack is made in such a way that it shows when enough torque is being applied. Still, one never knows until the load is secured on the rack and taken for a ride. Installed on a 2016 VW Passat. These Rhino Rack universal roof racks are an absolute nightmare. The hold-down clamps have almost no rubber padding except on the contact surface and its extremely easy to scratch your car when trying to install them. You REALLY need 2 people to put these on. The rubber pads fall off the racks all the time. I hang the racks in the garage and always have to spend time looking on the ground to see where the pads fell. Then comes trying to figure out which pad goes where on each rack. Absolute nightmare. 661505

Ended up putting this on my 2019 Nissan Rogue. The end result looks great. Because my car is newer the measurements it came with in the directions were incorrect. So if you are putting it on a newer vehicle you have to just kind of wing it or find the proper measurements elsewhere, which is a bit time consuming but definitely worth it. The roof rack/fit kit set up I ordered was as expected and went on with little issue, one little glitch as I jumped to the typical male I don’t need instructions to know what I am doing response and ended up with a rear clamp on the front which was easily remedied. The only issue I had was paying for 3 day shipping on Wednesday and not having the package arrive until Monday. I am not a veteran of the shipping lingo and apparently that meant business days, not actual days. Lesson learned 656501

Very happy with etrailer.com and the amount of information I found before I made my selection. I went with the Rhino Rack for my 2016 Corolla. I watched the videos, read the instructions and within just a couple hours, my rack was attached, my canoe was loaded and I was out taking a test drive. 2 issues with the instructions. I didn't realize that there were two different size hooks...I did not see it mentioned in either the video or the written instructions. I got it right, but it was purely by chance. The other issue was the rubber pads which were, again, not mentioned. I installed them wrong the first time, but it didn't take me long to see my mistake. Fits 2017+ Super Duty! I had the vortex 2500 on my previous truck which I removed when I traded it in for the 2017 super duty. I knew all I needed was the foot kit to make the switch over to the new truck. But, for some reason Rhino rack didn’t have a kit for the new body super duty. They did however have kits for the 2015+ F150 which I knew would work because they share the same cab. My hunch was correct and the foot kit worked great. The measurement for the spacing between the feet were a little off. The F150 calls for 169mm and 166mm between feet (front bar/rear bar). I found that to be a bit too narrow. I added about 5mm on each and it fit perfectly. 647602

Very happy with the results. Rhino Rack would not confirm a fit for my 2019 Chevy Equinox LT. The installation instructions listed cutting the front measuring strips at 120 mm for the front crossbar for the Euro bar. This left my legs a good six inches too narrow to span my roof. The rack was a great buy. Due to unforeseen circumstances I was not able to put it on until a few weeks ago. When I went to set it up I noticed 2 of the 4 rubber pads I was sent ended up being the wrong ones(all 4 of the same ones instead of 2 different sets for my car). The kit was the right number for my car, just somehow it had the wrong ones(probaby a screw up by the packagers). Ended up purchasing the 2 from rhino for a total cost still cheaper than the original msrp. Besides that the rack was a good buy and helps haul my kayaks. This roof rack kit is a high-quality product that shows good design and application engineering. It is far sturdier than one I installed on my wife's car. When carrying a load of lumber at least equal to the rated capacity, there was no deflection of the cross rails and the unit never budged at highway speeds. There were not many models that explicitly were said to fit a 2015 Ford C-Max (US version), so I bought these. The one-time assembly chore required time and attention, but the instructions are excellent. Read the instructions through several times before you begin (as is always a good practice). Once complete, I found the fit to be excellent. Removal and re-installation after the initial setup is simple. The very clever "torque wrench" supplied with the kit makes sure re-installations are tightened properly. I took off one star because they are quite expensive, so value for money isn't excellent. If you want a cheap thing to use infrequently, these probably aren't what you want. That said, the units show no signs of deterioration after a year on the car, so you are buying quality. If you leave yours on the car between uses as I do, lubricate the locks and working hardware every six months or so. 616694

I plan on using these rails for camping, kayaking, touring, and whatever else I comes my way that doesn't fit or shouldn't go inside the vehicle. I did not see on the DK sheet specific for my vehicle how to place the pads and which way the arrow should go. So I put them all on with the arrow facing out. Fairly easy to install onto my 2017 Honda CR-V. The crossbars feel very sturdy and are securely attached to the vehicle. Took me about 30 minutes to get it installed and could be done even quicker if you get help from another person. The bars themselves are a little fat so my Thule ski rack has a super tight fit. There is very minimal wind noise, so I'll probably be getting a fairing for that. Overall great product. It does everything I hope it would do and more, minus a couple issues. 1: These leave a slight gap in the door seal allowing air to pass through on the occasional windy day. The noise from this can be a little bit abound. 2: The anti theft aspect of this product isn't great. I almost lost my racks to a thief, but they stripped the allen head due to not having the appropriate Allen key. They did manage to loosen the racks though. I got lucky. For the money, these are great, but don't expect $1200 quality, or the quality of a professional installation bolted to the roof. 583404

I installed the rack on a 2018 F150 SuperCab. These racks are really nice medium load racks, well built and easy to install. If I followed the instructions the pads on the front cross bar would not sit down in the drip channels. I narrowed the front leg locations by 5mm per side or a total of 10mm or approximately .4". I sent the pics to Rhino Racks Engineering Department but have not heard back to see if they liked my fix. I like it! I recommend getting Rhino Racks approval before making these mods but that's what it took for mine to fit. 564679

I have on this product for over a year now and after installing it on the roof of my car, I haven’t had to touch it. I’ve put this rack through the ringer in what I’ve at the times idiotically strapped to it, from full sheets of drywall, 200 pounds of siding and numerous other construction projects, this rack has come in clutch. I have also used this for more of what it’s designed for in carrying my surfboard, Wakeboard, and other sporting equipment never having to worry about it once. The only downside is that it does create more wind noise. But it’s not that noticeable. If this is a concern just upgrade to the aero bars! 563901

I purchased this rack for our 2015 Nissan Altima. We ordered the system with the square "Euro" bars. Package arrived quickly and in good condition. Instructions were generally good and easy to follow although the information on where to set the supports on the "Euro" bars was incorrect. I looked at pictures of installed systems to see where the supports needed to be on the roof and then manually moved them in place. It took a little adjusting back and forth with trial and error, but it ended up working fine. Since then the rack works well and seems quite solid. Rhino Rack 2500 series with Euro Bars for 2017 Chevrolet Spark - naked roof I purchased the Rhino Rack from etrailer and received it very quickly. The rack appears to be well made and very sturdy. It was the only roof rack I could find that would fit my Chevrolet Spark, it is probably not a car that people usually put roof racks on. I did run into a problem fitting them to my car. The instructions tell how long to cut plastic strips that fit into the bars and locate the towers at the right width on the bars to fit the roof. Having cut the strips and installed the towers I found that the towers were several inches too close together to fit the roof (the strips are actually marked in millimeters). I called Rhino Rack and the person there told me there was an error in the instructions and told me what lengths to use. He also agreed to mail me new strips. I then proceeded to locate the towers to the measurements that I was told to use, adding pieces of strip to achieve the new lengths, to check if that would fit. I found that to get the front rack to fit at the specified location, front to back, I had to shorten the strip on each side two millimeters and to get the back bar to fit at it's specified location I had to shorten the strips by six millimeters. With the towers now fitting I attached the clamps and found the rack to be solidly attached and should serve well for transporting my new kayak. I plan to replace the strips when I receive the new ones. One less star for the fitment issues. 553548

I've now had this rack installed on my 2009 Honda Accord Sedan for about a year. Rhino Rack makes installation simple and straightforward. Everything fit the vehicle just fine. The rack works great. The square bars accommodate all my accessories. No issues with mounting anything. Wind noise is noticeable, but not obtrusive. I wasn't willing to have the sunroof or windows open at 50 MPH, but with everything closed up is was OK. This was the main reason for the 4 stars. I later purchased a Yakima wind deflector and this made a dramatic difference. I would recommend purchasing this accessory if you use this rack on a more aerodynamic vehicle, like a sedan. All vehicle aerodynamics vary, so your results may differ. Overall, the rack does what it is meant to do well, and the price point is good. I would buy this product again. I will caution that if you plan on using this for many freeway miles and you own a sedan, consider a more aerodynamic option. 550507

Installed the roof rack myself in just a little while. As long as you pay attention to your measurements, the installation goes brilliantly. I tightened the hardware once that summer and once here in the spring. Just to make sure everything was still snug. My only issue was the whistling from the bars. My fault for buying the square bars but, a little fill and wrap on the bars and the whistle is gone. Very sturdy assembly which handles out 10' and 12' kayaks (and the occasional trip to the local big box store strapping stuff to the roof rack) with no issues. 548636

The Rhino Rack is very well made. I installed it my self on our 2016 Ford Escape, but had an assist from my wife to fine tune it at the end. There was no whistling or any other distracting wind noise on our 3,500 mile drive to visit family out West. A Sear's Cargo Box was easily mounted to the Rhino Rack and it remained centered and secured at western highway speed limits plus. The included locks on the roof mounts were the selling point for me. I bought this roof rack for my kayak. Previously, I was just using ratchet straps through the car. I finally got fed up because when it would rain the water would drain in through the straps into the car. I looked a long time and did a lot of research. A year ago we purchased this Rhino roof rack system/kit to carry our 15ft canoe and 12ft kayak on our Silverado crew cab. We tow a retro camper, carry bikes, and have a toolbox in the bed, so the truck roof was our easiest option. We also bought removable Yakima folding kayak holders (because the beam width of our two boats was too wide for the cross bars - need to carry them on their sides). I appreciate the build quality, the sturdy finishes, the strong materials and smart design of this rack. We followed the enclosed directions and the etrailer installation video and it was easier and faster than we thought. We've logged thousands of highway and north woods miles with this rack and it's still solid as a rock! Only one minor issue... the square Euro cross-bars create wind noise at highway speeds which is only noticeable when you're not carrying canoes (they make enough wind noise on their own!). We just remove the racks when we don't use them - only takes 5 mins. It's a great product and we expect it to last for many more years! Great service from etrailer as well! 522064

Works as described! The instructions were pretty good once I deciphered the different parts that were described on the instructions. Installation wasn't bad. It took me about 2hrs. The most difficult part was making sure the anchoring kit aligned with the bars. I cut everything according per the instructions but the measurements on the instructions were off by a few millimeters. And so, i had to remove and relocate everything a few times until everything was perfectly aligned. I used the roof rack to load my kayak the other day and it held up really well! Looks like a very good product for my Chevy Colorado. Went on a shake down cruise with two kayaks and the rails performed very well with my Yakama kayak carriers. The only issue I had was having to adjust the post width by a centimeter or so from the printed recommendations in order to get the best fit with the rubber pads and the rooftop channels. Just wanted to provide some feedback on the installation of the Rhino rack rack and the Curt basket for my 2013 honda fit. 1) the roof rack went together easily- clear instructions, all the correct parts etc. All Good 2) the basket is another story. Poor instructions at best! Poor hardware! 3) Roof rack spacing instructions tell you to place the bars 16.92" apart ( 700mm-270mm=430mm ) For the basket clamps to line up with the rack bars, the rear bar needs to move approximately 2" in order for the clamps to seat correctly on the rack bars. Basket instructions indicate the centers of the clamps must be 15, 22, or 29 inches apart for correct alignment. I realize that the basket is a universal design, but the hardware just sucks! It would be nice if your company offered a mounting kit for this that worked better. Great service fast delivery all in all. 508623

It can be tricky but the paperwork was complete, the descriptions accurate and no pieces left over; always a plus. The rack and basket are VERY sturdy, it is all very well made; my only concern would be the L-shaped clamps that hook to the door frame. My three star review has to do with the product, not the service. I am quite mechanically inclined and have installed and assembled many things over my 45 years. I followed the instructions very carefully but the measurements for the strips were just off. It was difficult to tell because of the location but probably at least 6 or 8 mm on each end. I basically had to just loosen them and figure out where they needed to be and then try to tighten them without moving them. Then, I measured very carefully according to the instructions where they should sit on the roof. This went fairly well but having to readjust as discussed in the previous paragraph made it more difficult than it should have been. Once I got them parallel and where I thought they should be, it was difficult snug them down very tightly. If you tightened one end too much the other foot started to pick up. So I would go tighten that one down and go back and forth until it just wouldn't work anymore. And yes I did loosen the Fasteners on the bars themselves so that they could settle into the right configuration. Overall, I think they are a pretty decent set but it was difficult to install because the instructions were way off. Also when I fasten my kayak to the bars, the feet tend to raise up a little. I tightened everything even a little more than the fancy torque wrench indicated. Having said all that, this is probably a pretty decent set for the price. Also when I get the Swagman piece assembled and on the roof bars, I think the kayak will sit better in the saddle mount and I won't have to tighten so much to the bars. I think the multi shaped Keel of my kayak made it difficult to get comfortably tight for me, as I do a lot of Interstate driving and I wanted it very secure. Would I buy this again? I'm really not sure. It's my first rack. If I could absolutely not spend any more money then yes I probably would. I also think the Swagman Saddle Rack will make it an even better setup. 489774

The racks fit perfectly! They are a great fit to my car. They don’t interfere with the sunroof’s operation. I assembled it on my own with no difficulty. It was easy to assemble. The directions it provides to you are easy to follow. The only down side was getting the plastic pieces to lock on the ends of the bars. Other than that they are great and they look great on my car! I plan to use them to transport kayaks! They are very sturdy and very trust worthy for transporting a couple of kayaks. I recommend these racks to anyone who has a 2016 or 2017 Nissan Altima! 487589
