Today we're going to review part number P10004. This is the Putco high power six-LED pedestal-mount Luminex block lamp. It's 18 watts and it has a 15-degree spot pattern. Now this part would include everything shown here on the table. Includes the block lamp, includes the mounting bracket, wiring harness, illuminated switch, and a nice set of detailed instructions. Now this is a low profile LED block lamp, delivers a bright focus light. Gives off a 15-degree spot beam which is created by these chrome-backed focus lenses.

It is a universal design so it let's you pretty much install this block light anywhere you'd like. Has high quality light output from the six three-watt Nichia LEDs. They're quality LEDs with a 50,000 hour lifespan. Now this also has built-in safeguards, uses thermal control chips. Helps prevent the LEDs from overheating.

It has over and under voltage protection which keeps the lamp operating at the correct voltage. It's a durable, waterproof, corrosion-resistant construction. Has a nice black anodized billet aluminum housing, which is very lightweight and rustproof. Now the LEDs are also fully potted to protect the fragile components. Also has industry-standard protection against dust and moisture.

The other nice thing is this universal single-bolt pedestal-style mounting bracket we have attached to it. Has a black powder coat finish; it's stainless steel and helps resist corrosion. It's pretty easy installation with these included parts. The bracket you can see we already have attached. This provides a sturdy mounting brace, and it also let's you adjust the angle of the light where you need it. Now the wiring harness right here comes with the relay that it's all connected to, and then there's three different sections that branch off.

One of them is the section of wire that has the three pigtails with the female connectors, the red, blue, and black. That's what your switch would connect to to control it on and off. The other section would be one that has the Deutsch connector on it. What's nice about this, this is the industry-standard Deutsch connector. It has the triple seal to it. What's nice is when you go to push it in it's a very snug, tight fit. Locks into place, gives you a nice weatherproof seal. The other wire would be the power and ground. You can see the red is your power. On the red power wire it also has an inline fuse holder you can see connected to it with the 15-amp fuse connected. The black wire would be for your ground. They both have eyelets on the end for your connection. This part is made in the USA. A few specs on this: it's six LEDs; they're three watts each, so a total of 18 watts. The power draw on this light is 1.5 amps. In put voltage is 12 volts to 36 volts DC, and the operating temperature range is -100 degrees Fahrenheit up to 180 degrees Fahrenheit. Does have a limited two-year warranty. The light output, the brightness is 2,400 lumens. The beam again is a narrow 15-degree spot. The light color temperature is 6,000 degrees Kelvin. Just to give you an idea of the size of this it's about 4-1/2" long, 3-1/2" tall, and about 3/4" deep. What I'm going to do now is I have a 12-volt power supply here. We're going to plus this in and show you how this attaches, show you how bright the light is and try to show the pattern on the back wall to give you an idea of the pattern of it. What we're going to do first is let's take the Deutsch connector from the wiring harness, plug it into the light. Got a good connection there. We'll take the other side and we'll attach this illuminated switch. Now we also do offer, if you want to operate this light wirelessly, we do sell a part that's a wireless remote that would plug into these wires instead of this switch. We do sell that separately on our website; it's part number P8770F. It is listed on this product page as a related product. What we're going to do is in the instructions it will tell you all this, is on the switch there's three tabs and they're marked one, two, and three. It tells you to take the red wire, put it to one; take the blue wire, attach it to the middle two; and then the last wire, the black, goes to the three. We got the switch connected and then our last is the power. What we're going to do is take this, we'll take the red wire, which is the power, we'll go ahead and connect that to our power supply. There we go. Then we'll take the black and connect that to our good clean ground here. With both of those connected now we'll go ahead and turn off the overhead lights, go ahead and turn on our 12-volt power. Let me show you here. You can see the illuminated switch right here in my hand, that red do not that's on. It's a rocker switch so if you push it the other way it's off. There you go. Then you can see the six LEDs, a total of 18 watts. Gives off a good bright light. If I can swing it around here we'll show you on the back wall. You can see the narrow 15-degree spot beam that it does give off. We'll go ahead and turn the light off, go ahead and turn on our overhead lights.
