Expert Answers about Heininger Holdings

  • Adapter to Raise and Extend a Trailer Hitch Mount Bike Rack for More Ground and Vehicle Clearance
  • Converter/Riser Mount # HE6008 fits into a 1-1/4 inch receiver and is specifically for bike rack HE1011 so it will not work for you but there are other options. The Roadmaster adapter is only rated for flat towing, not accessories. The 100 pound tongue weight is also not conducive to carrying accessories. We have 2 inch dual receivers such as # MT70070. However, the use of this type of adapter will reduce the trailer hitch tongue weight capacity by 50 percent and many Thule bike racks...

  • Locking Hitch Pin for Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Rack
  • There is a solution for you, but the HitchMate Threaded Lock # HE6001 will not work with your Kuat Transfer 2 # TS02G. You'd want the Cable Locks and Hitch Lock for Kuat Transfer 2 Bike Rack # PTSCLK12, which includes a hitch lock that attaches to your existing threaded hitch pin. The kit also includes a pair of cable locks to secure your bikes. I've added a link to a video review of this lock set for you to check out as well.

  • Tie-Down Anchor Points for 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee with Factory Roof Rails
  • I may have a solution for you to tie-down the Advantage Cargo Bag # HE3021 you were looking at, but you will need to measure the channel dimensions of the roof rack on your 2011 Jeep Grand Cherokee to confirm fit. The Eyebolts for Rhino-Rack Aero/Sportz Crossbars # S604 have a square piece that installs in the channel that measures 13/16" by 13/16". This fits most roof rack channels so there is a great chance it will work well for you. I have linked both the above mentioned products...

  • Is there a Hitch Extender Rated for 750 to 1,000 Pounds Tongue Weight
  • There are a few things you need to be aware of. First, the use of a hitch extender will reduce the tongue weight capacity of the trailer hitch by 50 percent. So for example if the hitch on your Monaco is rated for 1,000 pounds tongue weight then by using an extension it will be reduced to 500 pounds. Second, the adapters that are rated high enough (750 to 1,000 pounds tongue weight) either are only designed for use when flat towing a vehicle with all wheels on the ground or are specifically...

  • Locking Hitch Pin Recommendation for the Thule Vertex Bike Rack
  • I do have a threaded, locking hitch pin for your Thule Vertex bike rack, but the Heininger Threaded Hitch Pin, # HE6033, will not work with the Vertex bike rack because the threaded portion of the Heininger hitch pin is too large to fit in the hitch pin hole of the Vertex bike rack. I pulled the Heininger hitch pin from my warehouse to test it with the Vertex bike rack and verified that they were not compatible. Instead, you will want the Thule Snug Tite Hitch Lock, # THSTL2. This hitch...

  • Will HitchMate Threaded Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock Fit a Thule T2 Bike Rack
  • Thule uses a propriety bolt pattern on their products. So the Hitchmate threaded trailer hitch receiver lock # HE6001 will not be compatible with the Thule T2 # TH916XTR-918XTR. However we do offer a Thule Snug Tite hitch lock and anti-rattle device that may work for you. The Thule Snug Tite hitch lock and anti-rattle device part # THSTL2 is a replacement lock system that is compatible with your 2 inch receiver hitch. I have included a video demonstrating the assembly of this Thule...

  • Will the HitchMate Adjustable Hitch Step Part HE4045 Clear Tailgate of Chevy 2500 HD
  • I went out to our warehouse, and pulled one of the HitchMate Hitch Steps, part # HE4045 off the shelf. When fully extended, the hitch step is 23-1/2 inches long, when measured rearward from the face of the hitch receiver. You should find that this hitch step will provide plenty of clearance when your tailgate is down.

  • Trailer Step Options for a Boat Trailer
  • Currently the only other style of trailer step we offer aside from the # HE4036 that you referenced would be trailer fender steps like part # CE19011 for the left front/right rear or the part # CE19012 for the right front/left rear.

  • Recommended Kayak Carrier Saddle That Will Fit an Extend a Truck Hitch Mount Extender
  • The kayak carrier saddle I recommend is the Heininger Advantage # HE3030. The cushions will wrap around your extender such as # DTA944 to be able to mount and protect your kayak. I went to our warehouse to get the cushions and provide you a video. They will be a little snug but the great thing is the adhesive strip and tie down strap will secure the cushion to your truck bed extender.

  • Step Recommendation for Front of Boat Trailer to Make Climbing in Boat Easier
  • We have the Hitchmate Boat Trailer Step part # HE4036 which is designed to attach to the frame of a boat trailer in front of the bow of the boat so that you can climb up and into the boat if needed. I attached an install video for this for you to check out as well.

  • Will the HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar # HE4016-4017 work with Bed Liners
  • Yes, the cargo stabilizer # HE4016-4017 that you referenced will work with a bed liner like what you have in your 1996 Ford F250. You will be able to adjust the tension of this stabilizer tight enough to the sides of your truck bed. The rubber feet of the unit will provide excellent grip. I attached a review video for this product for you to check out as well.

  • How to Determine if HitchMate Extendable Receiver Mount TruckStep Will Fit a 2012 Chevy Silverado
  • To determine if the extendable hitch step # HE4045 will fit your 2012 Chevy Silverado you will have to take some measurements. Measure from the bottom of your hitch receiver down 1-5/8 inches. Then from that point measure back up to 22-1/2 inches. If there are no obstructions in that area and you have a 2 inch receiver then you can use the step. I have included a picture that should help. For a hitch step that doesn't extend we have # MT70069 which costs a little less than the other...

  • Recommended Cargo Stabilizer Bar for 2017 Honda Ridgeline
  • For your 2017 Honda Ridgeline, I recommend the HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar for Compact Pickup Trucks # HE4015. This heavy-duty cargo bar has an adjustable length of 50 inches to 65 inches, so it will work very well for the truck bed on your Honda Ridgeline. The bar features a nice, ratcheting handle to allow for easy use and the large, sturdy rubber feet will tightly grip the truck walls.

  • Hitch Pin Lock for an XPort 2 Bike Rack
  • I have a solution for you, however part # SR0901 is designed to fit the threading of a SportRack bike rack, and likely won't work with your XPort 2. We've found in the past that later versions of the XPort, the Q-Slot (part # PS63134) work well with Saris' hitch pin locking set, part # SA3022. You can get a cable lock add on for this set as part # SA984 if you'd like to fully upgrade your rack's security. This isn't a guaranteed fit, however we've had reports that it may work.

  • Will HitchMate Extendable TruckStep # HE4045 Interfere With Spare Tire on 2012 Ford F-250 Short Bed
  • I spoke with my contact at Heininger on the HitchMate Extendable TruckStep, part # HE4045, and he said they have not had a problem with it hitting a spare tire on short bed or long bed, but it is always possible if something might be changed on the vehicle. He did mention to take a measurement on your 2012 Ford F-250 to determine if it will clear your spare tire. With the truck step inserted into a trailer hitch the support arm will sit 1-5/8 inches below the hitch receiver opening...

  • Recommended Bed Step For 2017 Ford F-350
  • For your bed step, I recommend the HitchMate TruckStep Extendable, Hitch Mounted Step for 2" Hitches - 9" x 6" - 500 lbs # HE4045. This mounts into your trailer hitch receiver and gives you an adjustable step to use when the tail gate is open or closed. There is a slightly larger version # HE4037. An option for your tailgate is the Convert-A-Ball Step Gate - Universal Truck Tailgate Step - 2 Steps - Passenger's Side # CAB-SG-2R. This gives you an easy to use handle with steps for...

  • The forward edge of the step platform on the HitchMate Extendable TruckStep for 2-inch Hitches, part # HE4045, will extend 23-1/2 inches beyond the end of the hitch receiver. You can determine exactly where the 9-inch-wide x 6-inch-deep step will be relative to the edge of your open tailgate by measuring 23-1/2 inches back from your hitch receiver. Since this is the point where the front edge of the step will be, the rear edge of the step will reach back an additional 6 inches behind...

  • Cargo Net Recommendation for a 5 by 8 Cargo Trailer

  • Can the HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar be Locked
  • I went out to the warehouse and pulled a HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar # HE4016 to see if a lock would fit anywhere on it. There is no place for a lock to go on it or any of the other similar products we carry. If there was a hole that went behind the stop that keeps the handle in place, through the handle, then you could easily put a lock on it. But they did not put a hole there. I made a video showing the product and the area I mentioned where a lock could go if there was a hole.

  • Will Heininger Advantage Threaded Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock Fit a Class I or II Cargo Carrier
  • The Advantage Threaded Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, # HE6033, can be used on a cargo carrier with a 1/2 inch hitch pin hole. However, if the shank of the carrier is not threaded the same as the bolt, it will not fit. Also, if the shank is not threaded at all on the carrier, the lock will only work as a lock, not as an anti-rattle device. What I recommend is to use a lock like # 5200 with anti-rattle device # 93347. This will be the best option for adding a lock and an anti-rattle device....

  • Will the Ducks Unlimited Hitch Cover Fit a Ford F-150 Triton V8
  • The Ducks Unlimited hitch cover, part # HE4210 for black or # HE4211 for green, would fit just fine on the F-150. All the hitches that can be put on an F-150 are 2 inch hitches and this cover will fit 2 inch hitches. If he does not already have one, you may want to get a hitch lock so he can prevent the cover from being stolen. One of our most popular hitch locks is part # 7683 and my wife has this on her car. My favorite lock is part # 40107. It is stainless steel and has a manufacturer...

  • Cargo Control In-Bed Cargo Bar for a 2006 Toyota Tacoma PreRunner
  • First for the most stable installation of the cargo stabilizer # HE4016-4017 having the ends on the metal of the bed is ideal. If it is a spray-in bed liner then that is fine as well. Drop in liners can move around and it is not the best application for this unit. Since the minimum width is 59 inches, a bed that is 57 inches is too narrow for the unit to fit. What you need is a slightly smaller one like # 08908. The minimum width on it is 40 inches. I have linked a video review for you.

  • Truck Bed Storage Recommendation for a 2013 Toyota Tacoma
  • I do have a great solution for you. I recommend the HitchMate cargo stabilizer bar, # HE4015-4017, which fits beds 50 to 65 inches wide. Then you could add the NetWerks cargo bag, # HE4021, for storage.

This is close in size to our most popular rooftop cargo bag for the Jeep Liberty, the 15 Cu. Ft. Rola Platypus, part # 59100, which measure 49 inches x 33 inches x 18 inches tall. • Will HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar and StabiLoad Support Fit 2017 Honda Ridgeline
  • The HitchMate Cargo Stabilizer Bar and StabiLoad Support # HE4015-4017 referenced in your question is a great option for compact pickup trucks with beds that are between 50 and 65 inches wide. I did some research on your 2017 Honda Ridgeline and it looks like the bed width on your truck is right at around 50 inches, so this should work great for you. I recommend also measuring your truck bed to confirm that that this information is correct. This Cargo Stabilizer bar will help control...

  • Will Heininger Advantage Threaded Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock Fit a Class II Cargo Carrier
  • You can use the Advantage Threaded Trailer Hitch Receiver Lock, # HE6033, on the cargo carrier, # 63155, but the shank in the cargo carrier is not threaded so the lock will not function as an anti-rattle device, just a lock. If you are just looking for a lock, I recommend # RH2-XL. If you need an anti-rattle device for use with a regular hitch pin you can use # 93347. I have included a link to a video review of the 7682 lock for you.
