Fantastic Vent

Expert Answers about Fantastic Vent

  • Operating Watts and Amps for Fantastic Vent Fan and Replacement Gear and Bearing Kit for Atwood Jack
  • I spoke to my contact at Fantastic Vent and she informed me that the roof vent # FV801250, you were looking at motor will draw 36 watts. On low it will draw 1.86 amps, on medium 2.29 amps, and on high 3 amps. For your corner Atwood jack, we offer a few replacement bevel gear and bearing kits depending on what capacity it is. I have linked them below: # AT75030 - Replacement Bevel Gear and Bearing Kit for Atwood Standard Duty 5th Wheel Landing Gear # AT75029 - Replacement Bevel...

  • Troubleshooting Fan-Tastic Roof Vent FV803350 That Doesn't Open Or Close
  • First thing you will want to check is that the fan has power and is grounding properly. You can try using jumper wires to the vent wiring that are run to known ground and power to see if that works. Next, you can check the fuse of the fan to make sure it is not blown. Near the speed setting is a plug that holds a 4 amp fuse. I attached a picture that points out where it is. If the fan still works when you manually open the lid that would indicate a problem with the lid motor. Since...

  • Choosing High or Low Profile Powered Roof Vent for 2007 Casita Spirit Deluxe Travel Trailer
  • The standard rough opening for a roof vent is 14-1/4 x 14-1/4, which is what you should have on your Casita Spirit Deluxe. Fantastic describes all their vent fans as high profile, but when closed they only sit 4-1/4 inches above the surface of the roof which is pretty typical for a powered vent fan, so 'high' is a relative term. Adding a Trailer Roof Vent Cover like # FVU1500BL would allow you to leave the vent open while towing the trailer. Otherwise, you'd need to make sure the vent...

  • Does Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent With 12V Fan Have Reversible Air Flow
  • The Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent With Fan, part # FV801200 is designed to do just what you mentioned you want to use it for. It will circulate the air in your RV or camper by pushing the air out of your camper/RV. This variable speed fan is not reversible but has 3 speeds to move the air out as needed. It has a manual knob on the housing that lets you control the air flow. The rough opening for this vent is 14-1/4 x 14-1/4 inch. If you want to cover the vent when not in use I recommend...

  • I am glad that you have found the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan - Clamp On - Manual Lift - 14-1/4" x 14-1/4", # FV801208 to be a fit for your needs. You will most likely need some wire like the # DW02359-1 to get your power where you want it. The end of your wire can be installed to a Replacement 12-Volt DC Power Plug like the # A-200. That plug will be able to connect to AC power using the AC to DC Adapter for Swift Hitch Wireless Camera System, # PP01. This is not a water resistant...

  • Selecting Correct Roof Vent Garnish Trim Ring
  • The 5-inch garnish trim ring included with the plastic-construction Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent with 12V Fan # FV801200 certainly can be trimmed down to better fit your 1-1/2-inch thick trailer roof. A rotary cutting tool, like a Dremel tool, will work well, or you can use a fine-tooth hacksaw blade. You may prefer to select an alternate garnish that is closer to your roof dimension. The linked page displays all 14-1/4 x 14-1/4 ceiling vent garnish rings. Part # VA0445-25 has a leg length...

  • Height Dimension of Fan-Tastic Vent 12V Reversible Fan RV Roof Vent FV801250
  • The Fan-Tastic Vent 12V Reversible Fan RV Roof Vent # FV801250 operates in both directions with a 920-CFM (cubic-feet-per-minute) air volume. I went to our warehouse to measure the height of the fan assembly without the lid's height included. I found this to be 2-1/2-inches, measured from the top of the flexible rubber gasket to the bottom surface of the mounting flange, which is what will contact the surface where you install it.

  • Is There a Correct Size for a Fan-Tastic Roof Vent on a Haulmark Edge Trailer?
  • Based on my research, your Haulmark Edge race trailer has a standard 14" x 14" roof vent, which requires a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" opening. If you are concerned about roof thickness, the Fan-Tastic vent's roof garnish - such as the one in the photo that I've attached - can be trimmed to meet your specifications. The only thing left for you to do is choose which vent you prefer. The most popular of our Fan-Tastic roof vents is # FV801200, which has a manual-speed knob to let you control airflow....

  • Could Fantastic Vent part # FV801200 Be Powered by 60 Watt Solar Panel
  • The fan of the Fantastic Vent part # FV801200 you referenced draws 4 amps. A 60 watt solar panel at 12 volts is capable of producing 5 amps so the fan would work if you had direct sunlight. The version with a remote controller is the part # FV807350.

  • Replacement Dome Cover for Roof Vent on RV or Enclosed Trailer
  • On the Replacement Dome for Fan-Tastic Vents RV Roof Vent - Smoke, # FVK1020-19, that you reference has a long metal hinge to attach. This is not one of the industry standard attachments, so it is specifically a replacement for Fan-Tastic Vent trailer roof vent model 2000TRS. If that is your vent, you have the correct part. If you are unsure if that is your vent, you will want to match attachment style of your existing vent cover. Roof vents generally stick to an industry standard...

  • Replacement Trailer Roof Vent that Measures 12 Inches by 12 Inches
  • The 14 by 14 inch measurement is the opening that the vent fits into in the roof. So if your opening is 12 by 12 inches it doesn't sound like we have a lid that will work for you. If you're looking to replace the entire vent then you can increase the size of the hole and use a vent like # FV801250.

  • How to Separate Fan Tastic Roof Vent Fan Blade From Vent Motor
  • To remove the fan blade of a Fan Tastic Roof Vent you will need to first remove the screen on the underside. You will want to then remove the vent cover lid from the outside of the trailer as well. There are four screws from the top of the cover that hold the blade and motor to the top of the vent housing. You will be able to remove the motor and blade at this point. There is then an allen wrench screw sized 3/32 inch that will need to be loosened on the shaft of the fan that will...

  • Recommended Trailer Roof Vent with 12V Fan

The most common square-shape trailer roof vent measurement is 14 x 14 inches, and this is the closest that we have to the 13 x 13 measurement that you made. If this happens to work, I recommend the Fan-Tastic Vent Roof Vent w/ 12V Fan # FV801250. This has a variable-speed 12-volt fan that has a simple 2-wire installation. I have attached a video review of this product for you to look at. I have also included...

  • Do Powered and Non-Powered Trailer/RV Fantastic Roof Vents Fit the Same Size Opening
  • Fan-Tastic Vent RV or Trailer Roof Vent # FV800800 fits in a 14-1/4" x 14-1/4" rough opening size. If that is the size of the hole you cut then you are good to go. Models with the electric fan, such as # FV801200, fit the same size opening. I recommend just using the model with the fan because even if there isn't power running to it yet you can still have the lid open to vent hot air.

  • Replacement 17 RPM Fan-Tastic Vent Powered Lift Arm Motor

I spoke to my contact at Fan-Tastic Vent and she informed me that the 7RPM replacement would work, but would move very slowly, it's best to replace it with the 17RPM motor. The # FVK6010-81 is off white in color and the # FVK6010-80 is white. Both these will work for your Fan-Tastic Vent with powered lift arms. • Can the Fantastic Vent Roof Vent Garnishes be Trimmed to Fit Roof of Trailer
  • What you would need to do is trim down the garnish of the Fantastic Roof Vent part # FV801250 that you referenced down to the thickness that you would need for it to fit your roof. We do not sell the garnishes in various sizes like with the Ventline vents, but trimming the included one would work just fine.

Neither of them is higher or lower than the other when installed. The controls for the fan will be located at about the same height as well. • Dimensions of the Replacement Dome for Fan-Tastic Vent RV Roof Vents # FVK1020-19
  • The Replacement Dome for Fan-Tastic Vent RV Roof Vents # FVK1020-19 that you referenced measures 15 inches from the hinged side to the opposite side (tall) and then 14-7/8 inches from side to side (wide). I have attached a picture for demonstration. You will want to take note of the hinge itself. Most vent covers have a hinge that is rotated into place whereas this vent cover is installed with hardware. If your vent installs with hardware then this should be the correct replacement for you.

  • Replacement Lift Motor for Fantastic Vent in 2002 Teton 5th-Wheel Trailer
  • According to my contact at Fantastic Vent the correct replacement lift motor to use in your vent is part # FVK6010-81, not item FVK-6050-80. The replacement motor does operate at a higher 17-RPM speed. Since your fan is of a lower rpm and manufactured before 2014, this motor will still work, but you will need to cross the wires. For example, instead of red to red and black to black, you will need to connect the red wire to the black wire and the black wire to the red wire.

  • Replacement Lift Motor for Fantastic Roof Vent
  • If the motor you have on your Fan-Tastic roof vent is a low-speed (7 rpm) then part # FVK6050-80 is the right replacement motor. This is fairly unlikely though. Most likely you need the 17 RPM part # FVK6010-81 as this is much more common. You should see the RPM printed on the motor. If what you have matches exactly the product picture for this motor then this would be the correct fan motor.
