Can You Flat Tow a Jeep Cherokee?

Yes, you can flat tow a 2014-2023 Jeep Cherokee as long as it's a 4x4 model with a 2-Speed Power Transfer Unit. Jeep fully endorses this and provides step-by-step instructions on preparing your Cherokee for travel behind a motorhome.

You should NOT flat tow a FWD model or a 4x4 model with a 1-Speed Power Transfer Unit, or you'll damage your transmission (not to mention void your warranty).

Note: Some 2014 to 2020 models might require a Mopar flat tow wiring kit. For certain models, Jeep also recommends charging your battery with a charge line kit while towing.

You should always check your owner's manual for proper flat towing procedures and recommendations.

Alternative Options
