Whether you're hauling a lightweight utility trailer or a heavy-duty camper, a dependable hitch ball is the key to safe and stable towing.
A turnover ball hitch is a gooseneck hitch that allows the ball to be flipped upside down and stored in the hitch receiver when not in use. This provides a flat, open truck bed for cargo when you're not towing.
Always refer to the manufacturer’s torque specifications, but most 2" hitch balls require around 250 ft-lbs of torque, while 2-5/16" balls need 450 ft-lbs. Use a torque wrench to ensure the ball is properly secured without overtightening.
Match the hitch ball size to your trailer coupler, ensure the shank diameter fits your ball mount, and choose a weight rating that meets or exceeds your trailer’s GTW (Gross Trailer Weight).
