I've used this once and it met my expectations. We will use this rooftop bag once or twice per year. I have not used it in rainy weather so I cannot say anything about the water resistance. It seems like a quality item. The seams, zippers and fabrics are sturdy. It is a bag that straps on to your cars roof rack. It does free up space inside the car. Thule nailed it.
Strong. Easy to use.
I just used this bag again for a camping trip and a year later this bag has held up so well and extremely useful especially as our family has grown and having less room in our car. Super easy to take on and off does not make any sounds while driving and you just don't have to worry about it and then go. Love how you can adjust it to the amount of contents you have in there. You will be able to fit a good amounnt of stuff but cannot load it with numerous large suite cases or anything.
We love our rooftop cargo bag. It fits perfectly on my daughters Honda CR-V and she’s used it many times to transport her things back and forth to college.
good quality carrier bag
Product is as advertised. At 13 cubic ft it is not big. It is easy to attach and rode securely for 1300 miles. It is not waterproof, but it does not claim to me. Stow in a small package when not in use.
It fits perfectly between the cross bars of our toyota highlander. We did use a couple of bungee cords to help secure it, and it held up well from Texas to South Carolina and then back to Texas. In rain it did collect some water, but we expected that and had only put beach chairs and a foldable wagon in the cargo carrier that could get wet.
Fits roof rack perfectly, appears to be very high quality and is surprisingly very light weight.
Love the cargo bag. Love the fast shipping provided by etrailer. What else can be said.
Well worth the money. Goes up in a snap and stores quite a bit without the annoying flapping in the wind of some other products. I recommend it!
The product arrived promptly and looks to be just what I need. I haven't used it yet but will when we go on vacation. I will definitely buy from etrailer again.
Great service and rapid delivery. Product is as described and great quality. Would definitely recommend this retailer.
Good product!
Great store, great product, fast shipping!
Review from a similar Outbound in Car Roof Bag
I bought this just over a year ago. I travel full time pulling a travel trailer and have had the Thule Interstate cargo bag on the roof sitting in a Thule Canyon XT cargo basket. The reason I purchased this bag over others is that it doesn’t use soft PVC in its construction. Soft PVC has a demonstrably harmful impact on all living organisms and the planet, from its production to the final product. It’s toxic through and through. The Thule bag uses a TPE lining, which is much safer on every level. I commend Thule for using it. Unfortunately, after less than a year of use, this bag proved incapable of protecting its contents from rain. Everything inside gets soaked after a rainfall. The items I’d stowed in it, e.g. camp furniture, solar panel, are now secured in the cargo basket and exposed, because at least then they can dry out afterwards. I wish I could, but because of its inability to keep it’s contents dry, I can’t recommend this cargo bag.

I bought this for a trip going from southern CA to Eugene OR. We used this with our Honda Odyssey with factory side rails only. We used it for our luggage because we placed bicycles inside the cargo space in our van. I would say we used about 75-80% of the cargo capacity of the bag. Didn’t notice too much wind noise. The fuel economy seemed to drop 1 maybe 2 mpg. We averaged 70-75 mph. I think when you have headwind is where you’ll notice a drop, otherwise I didn’t see much change cruising around 65-70.
We also encountered heavy rain on the freeway once we were in Oregon. When we arrived at our destination, the contents in our luggage was dry, however the floor of the bag was moist.
I also have used this for our 4Runner when we go camping to store extra items such as a plastic tote bin, tents, and other small bags.
The straps work really well to secure the bag.
It is easy to set up and remove from the vehicle when not in use.
It’s easy to clean.
Only concern would be if you stopped over night at a hotel, there is no security to keep anyone from opening the bag. I suppose you could add a luggage lock to the zipper, but just something to consider…
So far this has worked really well and highly recommend this product.

I’ve used this bag on a few camping trips. Bag is very high quality, including zippers, canvas, and straps. The bag has so far shown no signs of wear. It’s easy to strap onto my 2017 Toyota Highlander, which only has cross bars and no side rails. Fits tent, 4 sleeping bags, 2 air mattresses, 2-4 pillows and a few extra items. My only minor gripe is the difficulty in loading while on top of an SUV. It’s like stuffing a pillow case on top of your vehicle.

I have been very pleased with the luggage carrier I purchased. After a year of use, it has fulfilled all my needs and held up to expectations of being durable, weatherproof and ease of installation. Also, I remember the excellent customer service I received when making my purchase a year ago. A great product paired with outstanding customer service is why I definitely give etrailer a 5 star review!

Amazing bag, it survived a crazy storm with cross winds; Everything inside was dry including two laptops. There was some moisture in the inside of the front of the bag but for that kind of storm I was expecting it to be worst. Two of my friends riding with me were going to buy a bag for their vehicles.

The cargo bag has stood up to weather and hard use. No leaks, tears or broken zippers. Great product. Wish it were larger!

The customer service at a e-trailer is fantastic I was in a time crunch and Teresa was able to get my order to me in 2 days. She was great ! Thule products rock built to last.
Great knowledgeable service. When the endcaps on my roof rack were not in the package they were sent very quickly.
Traveled for approximately 22 hrs with this item through rain and wind, empty and filled to the max. Never leaked, held up great and is ready for another adventure!
Prompt service. Product exactly as ordered. Would definitely recommend e-trailer :)
It’s still working great!
Yes! We are very happy with our purchase.
Thank you!
The product was exactly what we wanted. In addition the response time from order to acceptance was spectacular--very speedy.
