A difference you can feel... After trading our old camper, towing the new one home was a scary experience. I read tons of reviews about different sway control devices and decided on the dual cam. As we pulled on the highway for our first trip, I was a little nervous as I saw the first tractor trailer coming to pass me. To my amazement, no sway!! My truck and trailer did move over a little but it was together and without sway. Nothing can substitute for a properly loaded trailer and adequate tow vehicle but the dual cam is a great supplement. Installation was fairly easy with basic tools (ratchet, wrench, tape measure and drill) and etrailer.com has several videos that complimented the instructions very well. Their customer service is the best in ecommerce; plenty of communication and always available if needed. Thanks for making our vacations a little more relaxing!! 111702

I wouldnt tow without it it makes that much of a difference. It is a bit of a hassle to disconnect for backing into tight spaces but otherwise I LOVE it! I towed our 28 camper to the NC coast last July 4th with an approaching hurricane and felt very safe. Dont get me wrong, we were pushed quite a bit but no sway. My neighbor went with 2 friction units and wasnt happy with the results.

Sorry for the long review. Purchased these as an addition to our Reese high performance weight distribution hitch. I was previously using friction sway control with our previous trailer, which was much smaller (by 10ft) and much lighter. Our new trailer is 36', 8,600lbs with a 950lb hitch weight. The tow vehicle is a 2016 F150 Lariat super crew with max tow. After towing the new trailer one time with friction sway control, I needed something else. Since we already had the hitch, I figured I'd try this instead of purchasing a new system. The dealer installed the kit as I was there for warranty work already. Towing the trailer home, the sway on the freeway was terrible. After doing a ton of research online, and various forums, I found dealers typically never put the time into setting this system up correctly, which I found is key for proper operation. I went through the complete setup with the hitch, and then the dual cam system myself (as I didn't trust the dealer who also originally set up the hitch as well). The instructions are a bit vague on setup, especially chain links from the cam to the snap up bracket under tension, which the forums helped greatly with. The dealer set this up to have 4 links under tension, when I found you need 5 at the minimum. Also found the 3/4 cam pivot nut not tightened anywhere close to 35ft/lbs. After setting this system up correctly, there is virtually no sway at freeway speeds. Moral of the story is that the setup is pretty tedious (took about 2 hrs), but once done, the system works great! 382508

I installed the weight distribution set on our 27 foot Arctic Fox trailer. The instructions were well written, the set went on as described and the system works very well. We now have about 10,000 miles on it. We have a 20 foot cargo trailer, I wanted to use the sway control in it. I ordered the extra parts to be able to change trailers relative easy. Vince was very helpful and got me the correct parts. Delivery was prompt and as forecast. Good place to do business, nice people that know the product. 149929

We put another 10,000 on the Arctic Fox. Put about 3,000 on the cargo trailer, the system works just great on both trailers. It was exactly the right thing to do. Very happy with etrailer, highly recommend them.

I purchased your weight distribution system for my camper last year 2015. We purchased a new camper and the system that I had for my other camper just didn't cut it. The camper was longer and a bit heavier, but the old system I had didn't stop the sway, and it was not comfortable pulling it. So started looking into systems that would help stop the sway. I went to etrailer.com, and found this product that worked with the distribution system I had. I called them and asked if this would indeed work to stop the sway. They made sure I had picked the right model to work with the one I had, and then told me that this was the best system out there. I watched their installation video, that was very helpful, and proceeded to install it. When I took it out for the first time, I couldn't believe it. The sway completely disappeared, and my comfort level went right back up to the top, along with the safety factor! Even when it's windy or a semi passes, it vertually stops the sway! I can't say enough about the product and the support from this company. I guess that is why they are in the business, and are the top rated! Thank you etrailer!! Greg H. ,Wisconsin 243545

Haven't installed the sway control yet but, if they perform as advertised I will be very happy. I paid for 3-5day shipping but they did not arrive for 7 days. Had hoped to install over the holidays but now will have to wait until the weekend. 167733

WOW!!!! This is a terrific product. Wont tow without it. The cams perform as advertised, stopping any sway. Last summer we took a trip pulling our 28 travel trailer thru 9 states ranging from flat to up in the mountains and we were completely satisfied. Would highly recommend this product.

The Reeses cam away controls work great. Makes the truck and trailer move as one unit. Do not feel vehicle when they pass. Very comfortable driving. Made a big difference bin handling and would recommend buying a very well made product.

I have been using (2) friction sways when towing my 32ft enclosed car trailer. Now with this new dual cam unit, it eliminates the sway actually before it gets started. I feel like I have more control of my truck now when pulling my trailer. No more sudden movements when a semi truck passes by. Great product and easy step by step instructions. I would defiantly recommend this over the friction type sway controls. Thank You etrailer.com for your awesome customer service from start to end as I received an email confirming the order was placed, then when shipped, then a follow-up after I received it. The shipping was very fast and the product was packaged very well. 93481

I installed this last year and had to do some modifications because my battery tray area angle iron was in the way. After changing that the rest of the installation went ok. Setting the bars to the mounts took a few movements of towing and checking to make sure they settled in correctly. Our first trip out was in a very windy storm and I didn't have faith in them, but the wind was so bad it wasn't a good test. They did work but fighting the wind and rain was like driving through a tornado. The rest of the trip after that was great and they did the job no sway. 252265

I received excellent assistance when contacting etrailer by phone, trying to determine the correct piece-items needed for my new trailer, to replace the parts for my Reese Sway-Control/Wt Distribution system that I "lost" when selling my old trailer. they were polite, patient and helpful. This hardware set, as well as the Lift brackets and Dual-sway Cams were as heavy-duty as needed (as described) and will be putting them onto my new trailer as soon as I pick, it up. 345635

Sway unit arrived promptly. It's 119 degrees on the Mohave Desert these days, so I won't be installing it until the weather cools. It is to replace the old unit I trashed this summer while making a very tight turn in an Aspen, CO parking lot. Sometimes the customer is at fault!!! Had to drive back to CA with no sway control and it wasn't fun with some really bad winds coming down I-15. It'll be back on the hitch before the next trip. 50968

I received the Reese High Performance Sway Control with 1200# trunnion bars for my 2013 Keystone Outback travel trailer. The directions were straight forward and installation wasn't too difficult. The biggest part was adjusting the cam arms, and making sure the measurements were correct for the cam placement on the trailer tongue. This system works beautifully, and I couldn't be happier. The price was reasonable too. 57592

FAIRLY EASY TO INSTALL AND ADJUST. TOOK ABOUT 1 1/2/HOURS. SUGGEST YOU USE COBALT BITS FOR DRILLING. ALSO NEEDED WASHERS BECAUSE RADIUS OF THE BRACKET WAS DIFFERENT THAN THE FRAME. BRACKET SHOULD SIT FLUSH ON THE BOTTOM FRAME. TOOK A TRIP AND FOUND NO SWAYING WHEN TRUCKS PASSED BY! NEED MUCH LESS OF ORIGINAL CHAIN, SO MAKE SURE YOU ADJUST LINKS SO THAT FRONT WHEEL WELL HEIGHT IS THE SAME AS BEFORE. 171070

My husband had no trouble installing and they have worked fine. Our trailer wasn't extremely heavy to begin with so we didn't have a real sway problem, but since we were planning a long trip on I-95 we thought it would be a good idea since we'd encounter a lot more big trucks. We never even noticed the passing of a big rig. Our camper just glided along behind us without so much as a shutter. 99287

I had a friction type on my 30 foot trailer that the rv dealer put on , then found out after doing some research that it is not enough for a trailer that large or of that weight !!!! Great rv dealer 30 years in this and they know enough to be dangerous !!! So took it off put this on and took it out on the hwy , Great !!!! So much better !!! took a little while to set it all up but worth it ! 83773

I went to this product because I have the old Reese dual cam and it lasted through for trailers and 40 years. I had one of the arms been on me. I have a 2014 Premier Bullet 31 feet long about 7,000lbs. I have Reese weight distribution and had a friction sway control. Have a huge problem with sway. I now purchased a new high performance control. This still did not help. I drove 35mph to keep the rig on the road. I don't know the next step. Etrailer gave me great service though I still have a problem. 138508

Replacement arms are shorter than the original and I had to adjust the locking nuts almost to the end of the bar. Fast shipping and great price from Etrailer. I love the dual cam system. Trailer sway is nearly eliminated with this system. Much better than the friction bars that I had on my trailer. I wouldnt tow my trailer without the dual cam sway control installed. This product works exactly as advertised. When we got our 32 trailer all it had was the weight distribution hitch. After a trip to Myrtle Beach, which was two handed white knuckle holy terror for 7 hours each way, I knew I had to do something about the sway. I looked around at various systems available and decided on the dual cam setup as being most likely to provide the sway control I was looking for. After installing this system and getting it adjusted correctly this is key to proper operation, towing is a breeze now, sway is gone and I now have control of my trailer with confidence. We have gone on five trips this year of varying length, all with no sway issues due to large trucks or wind. Driving is so much more pleasurable now.

  • The Reese and Draw-Tite products are manufactured by the same parent company, this means that the # 26102 and # 26002, Dual Cam Sway Control systems are the same, but there is a difference in the generations of the systems. The older systems had Hanger Brackets that were straight like part # 58192, 2nd generation systems were re-engineered and had curved hanger brackets like you see on part # RP26002, that you referenced. • Differences Between Friction Based Sway Control and Dual Cam System For a Trail-Bay Travel Trailer
  • The biggest difference between an Equal-I-Zer friction style sway control and a system like a Reese Dual Cam High-Performance Sway Control # RP26002 is that the friction style is passive and the dual cam is active. What is meant by that is that the friction style does not do anything to prevent sway, it only acts minimize it once it has already started, which for some people it will work. However, the dual cam system works to prevent sway before it begins. This system will proactively...

I received this hitch a few short days after placing my order and as soon as it arrived I unpackaged it to admire the contents. Everything was intact and ready to assemble, just as expected. I also ordered the special thin walled socket, which I am glad I did since my mechanic friend that did my torquing didn't have a socket that would work for this hitch ball. I know it is expensive but I wanted everything done right. I installed the hitch and set it up following the directions in the manual, and everything turned out perfectly. I think from start to finish it took the wife and I less than an hour and a half. Easy, and according to my measurements and a visual everything looked perfect. None of this is rocket science, and the installation is truly easy. Well, time to try it out, and what great timing, we left Saturday morning in a 40 MPH headwind for 20 miles, and then another 25 miles with the wind quartering at us on a busy highway. This hitch worked flawlessly! I was tickled with the whole ordeal, and today coming back with no wind at all it wasn't much different than the day we had the wind. You know what wind means, right? WINDY IN ND. Yep, we get our share. This hitch served us very well, and I am extremely pleased with my purchase and the ease of installation and set up. I would order it again in a heartbeat. My tow vehicle: 2018 GMC Sierra 1500 with max trailer tow package. 6.2 L with 8 speed transmission. My travel trailer: 2016 Jayco Octane SL, weighs in loaded at 6100 lbs with a hitch weight of 910 lbs. 517401

We recently bought a travel travel trailer and I needed to use a weight distribution hitch for the first time. I researched several of the different models and types before settling on this one. I liked that I would not have to drill into the frame of my brand new camper and the sway control was built into the hitch. Upon opening the box I was a little intimidated at the volume of parts, but a quick read through the manual sorted it all out very nicely. One issue, which might be common with all such hitches, is the tools I needed to set it up. It requires some very specific and large wrenches and sockets that can be hard to find. Of particular concern was the thin-walled socket to attach the hitch. The nut for the hitch ball sits in a recess and only a socket can reach it. Also, the bolts have high torque specifications that would require a very expensive torque wrench to actually reach. Our RV dealer did most of the initial install work, but I have since made adjustments and simply do the best I can with the torque. One thing we noticed on our first trip with the new camper is that the hitch makes very loud creaking and popping noises when turning. This is normal due to the way the sway control works on this hitch -- steel rubbing against steel is loud. There are ways to address this, but I have not tried them yet. Pros Weight distribution and sway control in one device (no separate sway bar needed) No drilling required Well written manual with very detailed setup instructions Good brand with lots of additional information available online Feels sturdy and up to the job Does a great job at both distributing the load and reducing sway Easy to hook up trailer once initial setup is complete Able to backup without removing the load bars Included 'cheater' tool comes in very handy to get the bars onto the brackets Cons Initial setup requires a lot of specialized and/or expensive tools to complete per the instructions Very loud creaking and popping noises when you turn (aesthetic issue, not a functional problem) Overall I am extremely pleased with this hitch. 265423

The Equalizer Wt Dist W Sway Con And Ball 10k Gtw, 1000 Tw. Was recommended for my application and works great. [Local retailer] in New York did the installation on my New 2017 Starcraft ultra light. The product has a clean look on the trailer. The Equalizer is a great product for tight turns and backing into parking slips. No need to remove sway controls, because its incorporated into the Patented Design. I've used other styles in the past but this is the product for me. Thanks Etrailer for the on time shipping of the Equalizer. Did you Equalize your trailer today!! etrailer.com 352111

I think this hitch saved our lives and probably others. This is my first "big" camper I've been towing trailers and pop ups for years. A 23' Grey Wolf Toyhauler with my 2011 Ford Expy as the TV out in front. I had been talking with more mature campers from work about the high prices of some of these WD hitches.... who wisely advised... don't go cheap on tires, brakes or hitches. I bit the bullet, took a little heat from the wife, cause I had it professionally installed too. (This thing is massive). I'll add pics next time I hookup. Plus rolling on $1200 of new Good Year AT's So me and my wife had just pulled out from Clabough's camp grounds after a week of great exploring, great weather and fun smoky Mtn motorcycle riding. We were heading north on 441, not to the highway yet. Probably not on the road more than 20 min or so driving through a small town. Maybe Severville Anyway, 4 lanes, maybe 40mph or 45mph. Following a car, and just talking. Then what seemed to be out of no where, I looked up to see the car was stopped at a red light right in front of us. When did that light turn red!! I had less than a second to react. I knew I couldn't stop. No one coming left or right at the intersection. No one to my right. It was tight, but I might be able to make it.... I swerved HARD right, then back with a HARD left... missing the car in front of us, and the sidewalk. We went sailing through the intersection totally unscathed... and THE CAMPER FOLLOWED ALONG PERFECTLY!! Silence. Neither of us said a word for what seemed like 5 minutes. I'm not even sure who spoke first. I recall someone saying like, did that just happen? And "we're not doing that again" So guys, it may seem like a lot of money, but I'd say it's pretty cheap. I'll just repeat what I was told... don't cheap out on tires, brake, or hitches. Happy camping. 422706

After many hours of reading reviews and research on this weight distributing hitch I am very impressed with the quality of this hitch and the fact that is American made in the USA. I have a new 34' 2016 Tracer travel trailer which I will be using this hitch with. I have been using a easylift spring bar hitch with the brake pad type sway control. Never was that satisified with it. This equalizer is a very impressive hitch. The staff a e-trailer was very helpful in suggesting and recommending this hitch. I talked to a different sales person on 3 different calls and they all gave me great information. E-trailer has one of the most informative advertising and videos on the internet. They met a price match of another offer with no beating around the bush. I would highly recommend them and plan to use them in the future.Order was shipped on Friday and I received it the following Wednesday.Thank you E-trailer and staff... 235462

I am very pleased with the hitch and its operation. I dont miss the old chain style hook up.This is so much easier to connect to more important is its performance while towing. I highly recommend this hitch.

Ordered this product for the built in sway control. My last hitch required another device to achieve this, but I didn't care for the additional work when backing up or on wet surfaces. The order shipped quickly and arrived intact in 2 separate packages. The smaller of the two, contained the hitch shank and main body. It's heavy, so it was expected that the box would have a hole. The other larger package was sealed and intact. All parts were present. Setup was straightforward, documentation excellent. Particularly the places to annotate measurements. The manual was small but effective. The ball mounting requires a thin walled 1 7/8 socket. I didn't buy this, my RV dealer torqued my setup for nothing. Very satisfied with this hitch thus far. Will update when I have had a chance to put it through the motion. 525174

I have a new 2012 F150 Ford XLT which does NOT pull my trailer as well as my old truck. I was not comfortable with the amount of sway and could not go over 50mph. On Sunday night after returning I purchased the Equal-i-zer. On Thursday it arrived and we literally had to look at the instruction book once. After 30 minutes the installation was completed and no extra parts... I merged onto the highway to test the equipment. I reached a cruising speed of 70mph and had absolutely NO SWAY. The fact that I now have a piece of mind knowing that the Equal-i-zer is less than that of a life when you are towing without the proper equipment. Other products may be available but research was extensive before I purchased the Equal-i-zer. The shear strength is visible and the product is very well made. The fasteners are heavy, the hitch is heavy, and the stabilizer bars are heavy. This is a 5 star product and every trailer owner should own the Equal-i-zer. The best thing about all of this is it was a product that was sold without a gimick and does the job well. Hat's off to you!! Scott S. 47603

I have bought a F150 2013. having simular issues do you know the weight of your trailer I have apx. 5500 lb trailer tongue weight about 550 to 600 lbs

-- comment by: mark b - 11/24/2013

The 550-600 tongue weight falls into an in-between area with Equal-i-zer weight distribution systems. The 6K system is built for 400-600 pounds tongue weight, and you are at the end of that range so it may not be a good choice particularly if you have any gear in the tow vehicle rear of the axle. Remember any weight behind the axle counts towards your tongue weight. The next step up is the 10K system featured on this page with a recommended tongue weight range of 400-1000 pounds. Now this would work, but it may be a bit overkill. The extra tension of these bars when paired with a 600 pound tongue weight may ride a bit stiff. If you are not particular to the Equal-i-zer systems, you may want to check out the Fastway 8K system, part FA92-00-0800. It may be a bit closer of a match to your trailer.

Just bought a new Travel Trailer, had been using a Reese Weight distribution set up with traditional sway bar. This system worked well but had the tractor trailers pushing me around and on windy days I had to reduce highway speeds dramatically. So, I chose to upgrade to the Equalizer for the new TT. I had the Professionals install it since it was raining but the videos and information on etrailer make me confident I could have done it with the correct tools. The Equalizer was fantastic on the 75 mile ride home in the rain with heavy Tractor Trailer traffic. Had little to no sway. Very pleased with my decision. This is a heavy duty system and is easy to hook up. I ordered by calling etrailer because I had a question about shipping and delivery since I needed the new set up for delivery of my new TT. Lisa was more than helpful answering my questions and getting the hitch to me on time. I strongly recommend The Equalizer and etrailer for your towing needs. 426708

Worth every cent. We bought a 2008 26' Sun Valley Road Runner two weeks ago and immediately took it on a trip to the N. Georgia mountains behind our 2006 Silverado 1500HD. Very scary up and back with a serious sway problem that kept me from going over 50 mph. Upon returning I researched heavily on how to "prevent" sway and not just "reduce" it. Your website was extremely helpful in explaining the differences in all the products available. The product reviews were very favorable for the Equal-i-zer four point system so it made my decision an easy one. Within two days of ordering, it arrived and I just installed it today. It was very easy to set up. I took it out for a run on the interstate and WOW what a difference! I could run along at 65-70 mph with absolutely no sway and very little bounce. This is the first time I had to buy a weight distribution system and if I ever have to do it again I will certainly go back through etrailer.com. The Equal-i-zer is a great product. 281160

I was quoted it would cost $900 for a local camping shop to put on the weight distribution hitch. I looked into eTrailer and found one much cheaper. It was delivered quickly and with free shipping. Through talking with them via email and watching the instructional video, I easily installed it myself in a couple hours. The electric jack was also purchased through eTrailer and installed in 20 minutes. 486062

after searching multiple websites for the Equalizer 10,000lb gtw/ 1000 lb tw weight distribution and 4 point sway control hitch, E-Trailer had the best deal for the this hitch. Not only the best deal but the best price and free shipping as well. In addition E-Trailer also offered a great price pledge, if you find an equal product cheaper they will price match. When I found a cheaper unit and emailed E-Trailer they matched the cheaper price and I saved another $xx.the hitch was also shipped quickly and I received it 3 days later. Their customer service was great. they were informative, polite and quick with all parts of the transaction, including the price match refund. great, price, great service, I would recommend them and will shop with them again. 319704

I ordered this to pull our camper, it came the very next day. It pulls the camper no problem doing 60mph. You do have to get a special socket for the ball, but asked my local RV dealer if they could tighten it for me and they did. I couldn't be happier with this system! You won't be sorry with this hitch system or the company! 434628

The hitch works great. Distributes load and no sway. I have a Dodge Diesel pretty good weight to balance against 7500# trailer so trailer isn't going to push around anyway. I like ability to back in to spaces not having to drop load from hitch. I use the plastic inserts (which should be included not extra, MHO) and hitch does not make noise. It takes serious focus on instructions to setup hitch. I had to reduce amount of load pushed to front of truck because it caused loss of traction. The torque on fasteners was beyond my tooling capabilities so set hitch, tighten as much as possible then took to Les Schwab who accomplished the finish torques. I would buy it again. 329832

Hitch has functioned flawlessly over the last year. No sway on hiway. Im about to move hitch to new tow vehicle and readjust. The new truck is much lighter than original tow vehicle. The hitch will hopefully provide the stability between lighter tow vehicle and same trailer. We shall see

Immediately after placing the order I was notified the product was not in stock and I was given an expected ship date. I was updated several times during my wait and to my surprise the package showed up a few days earlier than expected. I haven't yet installed the item but it arrived in good condition even though one box was broken open due to the weight of the items inside. Luckily all contents were accounted for. Product is very sturdy and in great condition with no scratches or shipping damage. Excellent customer service in keeping me informed on a delivery date. Have purchased before from etrailer and will continue to recommend in the future. 346168

Extremely happy with the product. Drove from California to Arizona to pick up a trailer. Installed and set up the hitch at a campground. Initial adjustments were close but I still had too much sway for my tastes and after a second adjustment, the trailer tows like a dream. Parts are stiff during a first time setup but after a couple of hitch ups, they loosen up. Parts are heavy and I recommend a good 3/4 inch socket set and a torque wrench. Easy instructions to follow. I installed this hitch between a F150 and a 30' airstream. One issue I wasn't expecting, the hitch makes a ton of noise when making tight turns, especially when backing. 445643

Honestly a great purchase. Read a ton of reviews before buying. Had the traditional style weight distribution hitch with sway bar attachment before, and I'll definitely say that I have no intentions of going back! The sway control is absolutely great. Hauled a 30' travel trailer from Atlanta, GA to upstate New York and back with absolutely no sway issues whatsoever. If set up correctly, it should do the trick. I will say, however, that it can be slightly loud at low speeds, but is just something to get used to. Would recommend this hitch to anyone. Worth the investment. 338779

Lindy was very helpful verifying the correct model for my new 19 ft TT. The hitch arrived in 2 boxes - very heavy! This hitch is built like it belongs on a tank - glad I purchased the hitchgrip carrying tool. All of the parts are heavy duty and well finished. The etrailer installation video on YouTube is very helpful to better demonstrate the installation manual instructions. My dealer installed the ball since they had the thin-wall socket. Everything installed easily and fit well. Need to load up the new TT and make final adjustments if necessary. 493532

First, thank you Jason S from etrailer for the quick and detailed answers. Etrailer has always shipped quick and on time. I received the eq37100et and took about 20 minuets to go over the instructions and install, guessing on the initial position and washers since I didn’t have the trailer yet. After getting the trailer home and fully loaded it took about 15 min to dial in so both truck and trailer sit perfectly level. I’ve been out on 3 trips sofar on city streets, highways, dirt roads and backing up is a breeze I couldn’t be happier. Thanks again... 518792

Fast shipping. Received in time for planned camping trip. Easy to install instructions. Trip to camp ground was awesome, ride was much better that previous “chain type” WD, I even passed a semi and the sway control Was spot on. Got to site and backed right in no getting out and taking off sway control arm. The Equal-I-zer made towing our 37 ‘ Sunset Trail with the F150 a pleasant ride. Reccomend you guys make a video on set up with air bags, I had to do some searching but found good instructions. The ride and control is GREAT!!! 519639

This is one slick setup. I got it tuned in perfectly on the second try. Instructions are very specific and very accurate. I found only one thing that could be better - the bolts that hold the ball mount to the receiver bar are too long, at least 1" too long. A standard socket won't fit over them to torque the nut - shorter bolts or a warning that a deep socket is needed would be nice. This seems like an anomaly, as everything else was a perfect fit. Good price, speedy delivery, as always. One caution, this thing is heavy! 283591

The primary delivery of our anti-sway system came quickly and intact but for one of the spring bars. I was not able to attend to this matter due to professional responsibilities. Calling the 800 number I was prepared for standard issue ineffectiveness replete with language [barriers and issues]. I was pleased to access Heather who is understanding and we were able to gain a replacement spring bar that also came quickly. I thank etrailer and commend Heather on her efficiency and warm accord. 289882

I would love to say that this hitch made a night and day difference over my previous one, but I bought this when I went to a larger trailer so I don't have any comparison data. I pull a Coachmen 28 RLDSLE with a Ford F250 6.2 gas. I have never had any sway issues at all and I really like the ease of hookup compared to a chain based weight distribution hitch with separate friction sway bar. I also like not having to disconnect this before backing the trailer in like I needed to do with the independent friction sway bar. 472285

This hitch was used on a 2002 f150 pulling a 26 foot Grey Wolf camper. The dealership initially set it up but didn't read the directions. The hitch worked but wasn't operation at full capacity. I went through the directions spent 10 minutes moving the trailer brackets and adjusting the ball angle. Pulled the trailer through a thunderstorm over potholes while getting passed by 18 wheelers and never had white knuckles. The hitch operates very smoothly, even when turning sharp and backing into tight spots. 255298

The Hitch its self is awesome I just docked it a star because of cheap hardware. The sway is minimal the truck rides great and level and with the pads for the L-brackets noise is minimal. Like many vendors their hardware is not up to the task. I had the washers on the 3/4 bolts that hold the Head to the shank literally disintegrate(they cracked in so many places it was like a spider web). Luckily they held till I got home then I got some Military spec washers and they seem to be doing fine. 429312

I purchased the Equal-i-zer weight distribution hitch for my wife's '05 Chevy Tahoe and our 27 ft. Jayco trailer. The hitch system was easy and straightforward to install. Without the weight distribution hitch, the back of my wife's Tahoe sagged several inches. With the hitch installed, the ride height of my wife's Tahoe was nearly the same as the truck alone. She has towed the trailer twice, and feels confident she can connect and tow it by herself if the need arises. 297267

This set up does everything they said it would. I’m pulling a 29ft Jayco averageing around 8000 lbs with a 800 lb tongue weight with a 2016 f 150. No sway of any kind and my front wheel well is maybe an 1/8 of inch difference upward. Highly recommended this a must have especially for Ford F150s. Prior to this I was using an older style with chains the rear of the truck was being pushed around especially down hills not any more 516594

Whew! I am so glad I purchased the Equalizer. I could feel the difference has soon as I pulled out of the driveway. I had to buy a new set up to replace the useless set up I got from the dealer. 2015, 30ft Flagstaff Superlite 26FKWS, GVWR 6723. F150, towing package, Ecoboost 430864

I would never buy another brand or style of weight distribution system. I've had it for a year (10 total trips) - and never once was I concerned about sway issues. The Weight distribution aspect is perfect. Its night and day difference when I pull my trailer (around town or back to where we store it) with just my regular hitch. I am writing about the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System. I am pleased with the quality of product and easy install. Specific instructions provided. C.S. was excellent from order to delivery. The only feedback from a negative point is the in-ability to attach the ball to the hitch. Had to take it to a RV shop to have it torqued to proper weight. The Equal-i-zer hitch arrived in 3 days with free shipping. It was fairly easy to install with the proper tools. I had to find someone to tighten the ball to the hitch because it requires a 1-7/8 inch socket and needs to be torqued to about 300 lbs. Went back and forth between the equalizer and Reese straight line. After reading lots of information and reviews decided on the equalizer. Before the trailer had a lot of bounce and would wag with the slightest crosswind. Now it has no sway and very minimal bounce. There is a slight noise when turning tight but the pros far out weigh the noise. Great product. 508996

Product is better made than the Reese pro. Installation was straight forward. I have a 2006 colorado pulling a 22 foot travel trailer. We are very satisfied with this hitch. It was easy to set up and adjust initially and we have had no problems so far. So far the Curt system has had positive customer reviews and that is to be expected because this design is very simple yet effective. The advantage that Curt has is price. The Equal-I-zer systems cost more but are made in the US and have a limited lifetime warranty compared to the Curt 10 year warranty. But if it were me I would try out the Curt because they do make some...

  • Comparing the Curt # C17500 and Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET Weight Distribution Systems
  • Both the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET and the Curt TruTrack Weight Distribution System # C17500 are compatible with underslung trailer couplers. I have contacted both manufacturers and received confirmation of this. Both options do allow you to back up without disconnecting anything as well. In this case I recommend going with the Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET since it has the greater Tongue Weight (TW) capacity range of 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs...

  • Using Surge or Electric Brakes with A Weight Distribution Hitch
  • The main difference between weight distribution that are compatible with surge brakes and systems that are not is the design of the the spring bars. The Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution System # EQ37100ET has straight spring bars that are designed to move back and forth in the frame clamps. These bars allow enough movement in the hitch to correctly activate a surge brake coupler. Typically, the chain and cam design weight distribution systems, like the Reese Strait-Line System # RP66084,...

  • Comparing Equal-i-zer and Blue Ox Weight Distribution Systems With Sway Control
  • Right off the bat the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET has an advantage because it has a larger Tongue Weight (TW) range of 600 lbs - 1,000 lbs as opposed to the 750 lbs - 1,000 lbs TW range of the Blue Ox # BXW1000. The flip side of that is if you get a heavier or lighter trailer then you would need to change out the whole Equal-i-zer Weight Distribution (WD) system whereas the Blue Ox systems use the same head so you would just need to swap out the bars. This is much more cost-effective than purchasing...

  • Selecting Correct Weight Distribution System for 2011 Toyota Tacoma Towing 28-Foot Travel Trailer
  • Weight distribution systems like the Equal-i-zer # EQ37100ET that use square trunnion bars tend to offer better ground clearance at the hitch as compared to round bar systems like the Fastway # FA94-00-0800. Trunnion bars enter the head assembly from the side, rather than from the bottom, so they usually allow more clearance. Systems also differ in the size of their frame-mounted lift brackets. The Equal-i-zer with 4-Point Sway Control # EQ37100ET uses brackets that are only 2-inches...

  • Recommended Equal-I-zer Weight Distribution System for Trailer with 1100-lbs Tongue Weight
  • Weight distribution/sway control (WD/SC) systems like Equal-I-zer # EQ37100ET and # EQ37120ET are best selected based on the trailer's actual loaded tongue weight (TW) to which you add the weight of any cargo in the tow vehicle that sits behind the rear axle, such as a generator for example. This weight-matching ensures the system is stiff enough to provide the required tongue weight shift to the truck's front axle while not being so stiff that it creates weird handling. Ideally your actual...
