It's big enough to fit a bike carrier and a cargo bag on top of my MINI. Easy to assemble and install, solid construction. Great value for your money. If I have a gripe it's that the wind fairing on the front is VERY thin/fragile. I caught it with my bike tire when loading one day and the corner snapped right off like nothing. It's only about $XXX for the replacement.
Heather A - 02/07/2022The Rhino-rack is great! The directions were simple and the parts fit together well. It was an excellent addition to our Subaru Ascent. There were concerns over this interfering with our sunroof; however, we were able to adjust it so that both, the sunroof and the rack work perfectly. It does add a small amount of wind noise, but that was expected.
This rack is sturdy and it was easy to install by myself. I like the mounting hardware and everything is snug. Finish is powder-coat and seems very durable.

Noah F - 02/23/2022Just got this today, so this is my initial impression. Build quality seems great. The instructions were a bit ambiguous but I figured it all out. I consider myself quite handy, so I was slightly surprised at the lack of detail & guidance in the picture only assembly instructions (Which bolt is pictured? Where do I use this washer? Is this oriented correctly?).
One thing I like about this is the infinite flexibility of the mounting points. It can accommodate a wide range of cross bar spacing. That makes it a breeze to switch between the stock bars on my 2018 Outback and my teardrop trailer, which has wide (39") and fixed spacing between my older Thule square cross bars.
The lowish profile makes me think it won't impact my gas mileage much when empty.
The price can't be beat for the extra large size. Others seemed way smaller for the same price point. Doesn't require some "extra" spacer for more length.
Very happy thus far. I'll update after more use.
It's a great rack once it is put together. The 3 stars is because the instruction booklet is TERRIBLE. In addition to there not being specific references to parts listed in the front, the pictures are incredibly small and not helpful at all. I watched the video about the rack and my specific SUV, the 2022 Nissan Pathfinder, and OEM parts prior to purchasing. They must have made some slight adjustments prior to filming it, because I definitely had to do a few things to make the clamps work on my crossbars. Again,these are OEM and the video had the same ones.The project took much longer than it should have because of all the reasons listed above.
It is a mixed bag. I'll start with it did NOT fit on a my 2021 4runner with factory rails and crossbars. But the rack is not going back, I'll buy new rails and try it out.
The assembly went smooth enough, though the rubber sleeves between the two pieces are difficult to maneuver and I actually have a partial tear in one. Also, I was missing one rubber spacer and one nut to attach the fairing. I got a nut from [home improvement store] and will have to go back for the rubber spacer. That is kind of a big deal but not a killer.
The killer is 1) the bottom of the mounting hardware will not fit under the crossbar without rubbing the roof. At some points it won't fit at all. 2) When resting on the crossbars (which have an arc to them, the center bars running front to back on the basket rest touching the bar which prevent the mounting rails (the double rails on the left and right of the basket running from front to back) cannot rack the mounting hardware. 3) even if they did reach, the basket touches the factory rail covers.
There are two possible solutions: 1) find hardware that has a smaller bottom plate (or break out the dremel) and create some shims above the mount to reach the basket and lift it off of the rail covers. or 2) get new crossbars that are a little higher and flatter.
The problem with option 1 is I don't know how reliable that would be and how good it would look. The problem with option 2 is the cost of the basket (~$[XX]) plus new crossbars ($[XX]-[XX]) I could have ordered a complete new rack system like Victory, Prinsu or LFD.
Great product. Great quality. Instructions not real clear, so took me a couple of hours to assemble. Then another 15-20 minutes to secure to roof racks. I was working alone, extra hands would have helped. But extremely happy with quality and looks of product. We have lots of family that visit us, so I plan to carry luggage on the rack to free up space inside the vehicle on trips to and from the airport.

This rack is great. I put it on my 22 Trailblazer and it has handled everything over the past year…. Several trips to the mountains fully loaded.
I purchased the Rhino Rack Vortex SX crossbar systems for my 2014 Jeep Cherokee Trail Hawk with factory raised rails and panoramic roof. The crossbar systems are well away from the panoramic sunroof and poise no issues or touching with the sunroof opening or closing. When the sunroof opens, it drops down and slides back, again never touching any part of the Vortex SX rails or feet. Then I added Rhino-Rack Roof Mounted Steel Cargo Basket/XTray Large measuring 57" Long x 42" Wide. Both were easy to install, very stylish, and practical. I did a lot research for cross rails and cargo basket and I am very pleased with Rhino Rack Vortex SX crossbar and the Rhino-Rack Roof Cargo Basket from eTrailer.com
I like the rack. Easy to install when going on a trip and easy to remove when I don't need it.

Michael - 12/31/2022Installation of the Rhino Rack was straightforward with the detailed instructions. The online installation videos and product overview were very helpful in making the purchase and in giving me the comfort level knowing I could install the rack on my own.
We're extremely pleased with the unique and rugged look of the Rhino Rack compared to others on the market. The customer service and ordering process were excellent.
Item came within a week. Quality is excellent and very durable, the powder-coat finish is topnotch, my son scratch it with a metal philip screw, and it was still black under the outter coating. Easy to assemble and install, if you follow the instruction manual properly. The only tricky part was the rubber sleeve that goes between the bars of the rack when assembling, and measurements when putting it on top of your vehicle. I installed this today all by myself, it wasnt easy but totally do-able just one person. The cargo basket had few minor (like 3) scuffs and dents, but none are noticeable. I am not worried about it too much, I worked at a warehouse and items will get minor unnoticeable dents and scuffs here and there due to movement of the item to differnet storages. It happens to all the products in the world. Over all I am very and over satisfied with this item, I bought it during sale for [$$$.$$]!
I have a jeep renegade 2016, and I bought the Large size. Dont get the small one, itll look weird on your renegade.
Super happy with this basket. I was going back and forth between this and the smaller Rhino-Rack, I was worried this would look ridiculously large on my 2016 Kia Sorento. Turns out it's perfect, I think the smaller one would be silly small. Assembly and mounting was easy on the factory crossbars. Purchased a RRLB500 Rhino-Rack bag to go with it.
TIPS: It took me a minute to remember the front and rear crossbars are different widths. At first this was causing me to struggle to eyeball the centering of the basket. I ended up measuring from the bracket to a well-defined spot on the crossbar. My Vehicle was 3 5/8" Front, 2 3/4" Rear. I made a template from a clean piece of cardboard (from the box) and noted the measurements. The template was a good place to note the allen screw head size of 5/32. I used a drill with a 5/32 allen bit to snug the screws, then hand tightened them. I'll keep the template someplace logical, then next time I mount the rack it should go real quick and easy. Sorry for the lame garage photos.
This review is about the install as I have not put the rack to its full use yet. I will update it after I finish installing the radar and weather instruments and have used it through storm season. I can say that this basket is very strongly constructed look like it will be very stable. The actual attachment of the basket to the rails was something of an issue as my rails sit about 7' off the ground and the bottom brackets for the attachment assemblies just did not want to go together very well. However, in the end we got them all installed (with the help of my daughter) and everything seems to be very solidly attached.
Just put it together and installed it today. Appears to be well made. The assembly instructions are difficult to follow but otherwise it looks like a good product.
One year and counting for our awesome Rhino Rack. Not too hard to assemble onto the car. Once done, you can forget about it except to enjoy. It's sturdy, very attractive on our Subaru and the quality still shows after a year. We would absolutely buy this again!
I am extremely happy with the Rhino-Rack that we got from you. It was very easy to install and I was able to get it done in just a couple of hours. Very good product. I just got it but it seems high quality and sturdy. All hardware pits properly. Easy to assemble and install my 2021 Toyota Highlander.
Really like this rack. Very easy to assemble and mount to my car. This is the only one that has adjustable mounts that run vertically. This made mounting it to my 2018 Explorer very easy as the cross bars are fixed position at 39".
I’ve got to say I really like this basket, quality is great and the size is perfect for what I need. Fits well on my 2021 RAV4 hybrid with factory roof rack. Unlike others, I found the assembly from box to mounted on the roof only took about 25 mins and was very simple.
Only complaint is with etrailer itself as when I ordered the rack it was in stock and was scheduled to ship in 3 days, however, it took almost two full weeks to even ship. When I called customer service I was told it was in stock but they were having difficulty locating part of my order and I didn’t receive my order for two and a half weeks. Not a huge deal but also not what I was expecting.
Excellent rack...easy to assemble and mount. High quality. Looks good. Love that (unlike most racks) the floor rails run along the length of the vehicle. That makes the positioning of the mounting clamps infinitely adjustable instead of step-wise jumping from bar-to-bar for those with floor rails that go the other direction. This made it possible to mount on my fixed-spacing roof rails. I just bought a second, smaller one, for my tow vehicle!
I got my rhino rack and basket installed on my rocky ridge conversion silverado the day I received it. This rack/ basket puts the final touch on my truck for the apperance I was looking for.Thanks for a great product and for excellent customer service. I will definitely use etrailer in the future.
I use the cargo basket mainly for or annual beach trip. My previous basket was smaller and it was difficult to pack all our gear safely. I was able to fit everything we need into the Rhino-Rack (5 chairs 2 umbrellas and a small table), without having to hang anything over the top rail. It was easy for my wife and I to lift it onto our crossbars and the attachment system is very secure.
There is some wind noise at highway speeds but I couldn't feel any real drag. I'll be curious to see its affect on milage, but I doubt it will be any worse than my previous basket because it has a lower profile.

The product is well made (in Taiwan....not China) and the parts and instruction video made it relatively" easy to install. Two people helps to install it more readily. The wind diffuser in the front greatly reduces wind noise. All in all very happy and glad I bought through etrailer. Service was excellent and delivery prompt.
Robert - 06/06/2021Ordered Yakima Load Warrior Roof Rack Cargo Carrier and Cargo Net for my 2021 Telluride. Both products received as described. Roof rack instructions were clear and assembly straightforward. Had to slightly adjust recommended spacing between OEM crossbars to accommodate Yakima requirements - 30" vs 33". Thinness of OEM crossbars result in the threaded ends of the bolts that hold on support brackets sitting a little too high, potentially presenting a cargo scratching hazard. All in all, however, very pleased with product.
One year of driving with this thing on the roof of our 2016 toyota sienna in Washington state - Some background: Our van is awd and didn't come with a spare, so we bought one off another van, and we carry it on the roof since there is nowhere to mount it in the undercarriage. We haven't used it to carry anything else. Our van is kept in our garage, but it still sees plenty of rain.
We haven't had any rust problems that the cheaper carriers have, despite the fact that I didn't do any of the custom caulking/sealing that others have done. We haven't had any rattling at high speeds, or screws coming loose, or anything like that so far. Other than the occasional tightness check, it's been a set it and forget it type of situation.
Downside #1: It hurts gas mileage. Went from 20+ mpg to 19 consistently.
Downside #2: Wind can be both heard and felt at speeds exceeding around 55 mph. I can feel the drag. It's like a sail that picks up every gust of wind and transmits it to your steering wheel. I tried removing the front flat piece but it got even louder and sailier somehow. Having said all that, it's not as bad as it sounds. It's there, but it's not like it's trying to pull you off the road or anything. You get used to it and it doesn't have to constantly be at the front of your mind when driving.
These downsides are not unique to this carrier. I have no experience with other carriers, so I can't say the downsides are better or worse than with others, but my guess it they aren't any worse.
I went with this carrier despite it being much more expensive than cheaper alternatives because I just didn't want the hassle of the rust and other problems that they bring. After a year of no problems (aside from the ones I listed that all carriers have), I do think it was worth the extra cost. I hope this helps you decide.
Great rack. We will enjoy using it for travels.

Paul M - 12/12/2015I’m really impressed with the Load Warrior. The instructions were clear and assembling it was straightforward. The hardest part for me was putting the fairing on, but after that it was smooth sailing. I put it together and installed it by myself. Having a second person probably would have made it easier when it came to putting it on the car, but it wasn’t bad.
The basket is really sturdy and I love how it looks. The fairing can fold forward / lay flat in case you’re carrying long skinny cargo. I purchased the locking brackets for added security.
Excellent Product! Went together easily, and after adjusting my Yakima round bars to the correct distance apart, the LoadWarrior mounted perfectly.
I like the design of the basket. It' sturdy, but not built too heavy. I attached it to a Thule roof rack system. Installation was easy, and it makes for a very solid cargo carrying assembly.
I found the directions confusing, and it was impossible to get though the customer support phone line. When you put the two halves of the cage together, on one side the holes did not line up very well. I tried to screw the screw in anyway and it stripped. The directions were just plain wrong in how far apart the cross bars should be. Mainly, I felt alone in this effect-- there really is no phone customer support with Yakima. Expect to use the chat instead.

I have a Subaru Forester w/o factory racks. I am using a Yakima rack and towers that attach to the factory mounting holes on the roof, so it cannot be moved or adjusted. The LoadWarrior basket does not fit this particular width of the bars. It is at the only possible mounting position and with one clamp centered, the other clamp is not centered on the bar, making it impossible to secure the clamp (the basket to the rack).
I have ordered the extension for the basket to hopefully provide more end to end adjustment so it can be secured to the rack.

The LoadWarrior is easy to install and is very sturdy. I have not noticed any additional road noise even at 70mph. Looks great.

Customer service was great and answered my questions about quickly. Fits my Acura 2020 RDX with factory roof rails and crossbars, although installation instructions made it appear you had to move your crossbars to 30” apart. You don’t have to move them, just need to make sure basket brackets align with crossbars. Have not driven with it loaded up yet, but so far fits well and looks good.
Received roof basket quick and in great condition, save for missing one of the tube fastener screws. It was easy to put together and install, although it took me just over an hour to do, but that's mostly because I'm anal. I really like this basket as it seems to sit lower on my factory roof rack than other brands I've seen on the same vehicle (2015 Subaru XTrek), and that makes it look much better (IMHO). It also comes with a wind deflector which was easy to install and Adds to it's appearance. I would highly recommend this product and etrailer to friends and family. Etrailer, please keep up the great work and service your provide, as I find it to be very useful and very much appreciated. Btw: This was not my first order with etrailer, so my experience with them is also based on previous orders, and no I have affiliation with etrailer, I'm just a very happy customer.

I recently drove from southern California to northern and back, a total of 804 miles, and had no problems with excessive noise, that was the only concern I had. I've owned Yakima racks in the past and was familiar with their durabilty.
