I have purchased a number of items from etrailer and everything was sent in a timely manor as stated and promised. All of the items I received were exactly as described. I watched a number of videos, read a number of diagrams and all of the help information was exactly what I needed. In other words I did not need to go anywhere else to get a full tow package for a Dodge 5500 that did not have one. I cannot say enough about how this website helped me. Bulletproof chunk of steel. Excellent quality and the finish is holding up well in the saltwater environment where it is used.
I bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad to use on his late model Chevrolet 2500HD 4x4 (4" drop). I had heard him complain several times about the rattling associated with the 2" adapter and his old ball mounts. Needless to say he now has no more rattle and plenty of capacity with this heavy duty unit. Highly recommended for 2.5" hitches!

Needed a drop hitch after buying a 3/4 ton truck. I haul a 27 foot travel trailer and a flatbed trailer with tractor. Very solid and heavy hitch. Etrailer gives great descriptions and dimensions for their products at good prices and great service.

I use to tow a 1999 Sea Ray 330 Sundancer with my 2011 Ford F350. Needed something that would handle the weight and this definitely does that. Good quality and seems very strong. Perfect drop to make the trailer sit level when connected to the truck. The only negative I would say about it is that it fits fairly loose in the receiver. Also, the hitch pin hole in the mount is a little oversize so there is some back and forth when stopping and taking off.
Extra heavy and good quality. Only problem I had was I didn’t see in the info that the ball hole was 1 1/2” instead of 3/4”. So had to order a new ball.

The hitch choice didn't work for my 2016 Ram 2500. The trailers that I needed to tow had a fixed trailer jack.
If I lowered my tailgate, due to it's big lip design, it would hit the jack. I resorted to a hitch that was longer and was adjustable.
Quality of product is excellent. Curt hitches are heavy duty and will last a lifetime. My second purchase from etrailer.com. The description and knowledge of their products is exceptional. Very satisfied.

Bill A - 06/04/2015The products were as expected. The packaging was poor. The heavy, forged steel, Hitch ball mount was thrown into the same box as the wiring harness. There was no attempt to secure or pad the items so the ball mount wouldn't hammer away at the wiring harness everytime the package was turned over.
It shows a lack of respect for the hard earned dollars that were spent on the parts...no appreciation for the business.
I like etrailer for all my towing needs over the years. The fact you wait a year to ask for a review speaks volumes. 2018 Ram truck has a 2.5" receiver! The square "bushing" set-up supplied with the vehicle did not seem very sound, although it probably is. Anyway the forged 2.5" stinger has been fine-no worries for me! Bomb-proof!!

I ordered a Class V ball and ball mount with pins. This is for the 2.5 inch heavy duty receiver. I needed a set-up for pulling an emergency services boat that weighs over 18,000 lbs.
I was able to get a set-up rated at 20,000 lbs, in stock. Shipping was fast and quality looks good.
Needed a heavy duty ball mount and didn't want to deal with an adjustable mount. Extremely impressed with the quality of the 4" drop Curt mount. Solid from ball to mount point, not the hollow mounts made by other companies. With a 20k pound rating it will definitely exceed the weight I plan to tow.
It never ceases to amaze me that everyone claims great customer service, but few provide it.
I like to think I 'discovered' etrailer as a true customer service gem, so as I shared my 'find' with my horse towing friends, they told me they already knew and that George is the trailer king.
My only concern now is why my friends didn't tell me sooner. Friends tell friends about etrailer, right?

Dwayne - 11/04/2021This is a solid insert that has worked well and meets the load requirement. The boat/trailer combo weighs 18,000 lbs. and this is a critical link in making it a safe tow.
This is the second one I have bought, different offsets, and would recommend it.

My wive (its her truck), towed 7000# of horse, tack and trailer last saturday. I know this ball mount is overkill but it is easier than using a 2" with the receiver adapter. Also this way if we have to tow something real heavy we already have the ball mount for it.
I have a 2015 Ford F-250 with the factory 2.5" receiver hitch. This drop ball mount fits into the factory receiver well, contrary to the product warning. It is also extremely beefy, you will not be disappointed! Photo fitment proof!
Top notch super heavy duty solid Class V 18000# 2 1/2" hitch with 5" drop. Has some weight, but easy to heft with recessed sides. Married this with a 2 5/16" Brophy raw hitch ball. This is overkill for a 7,000# GVWR trailer being pulled frequently by a 2014 Chevy Silverado 3500HD 4X4 Crew dually with 2.5" stock receiver. Has also occasionally pulled several 6,000# wagons to the elevator. Have no major complaints, but there is a slight variant in size of about 1/16" mounted in the 2.5" receiver so there is very light feel when pulling empty. The 5" drop seems to work the best. This is the second hitch purchased for quick change out. Couldn't be more satisfied.

Fits the 2013 Ford F350 with the heavy duty receiver factory option.
This is a stout 18000 pound 2 1/2" hitch with 5" drop. Fit perfect iin my 2012 Silverdo 2500HD hitch. The recess on each side helps you carry it in your hand comfortably. Don't forget to get an extra long locking hitch pin for 2 1/2" ball bounts with key lock to keep it from being stolen. I married it up with a 12000 pound 1 1/4" thick, 2 5/16" ball with a 2 3/4" shank.

Robin M - 11/26/2021I buy items from etrailer a lot and I have yet had an issue with any of my purchases. This ball mount fits perfectly in my hitch receiver and allows me plenty of weight capacity left. No rattle, fits firm and the drop and rise makes towing any trailer easy.
Etrailer has been great to work with. Usually the lowest price and good service. The hitch is made in china, but is backed by Reese so should be trustworthy. I will pull a 14K equipment trailer with my 1 ton ram. Glad my truck came with a class V hitch. I like the extra capacity of the 2.5" hitch!
These hitches are solid. I have had 1 of these for about 8 years and it has taken some abuse with out failure. Liked it so much when my dad bought i new truck we got one for his too. Best hitch on the market if your not looking for adjustable height.

Great, heavy duty hitch. Fit into receiver very well. Made this hitch the same height as on my other truck.
This is the second Mount I purchase. First one was a different drop size and I needed something longer for the new trailer. I loved the first one so much that there was no reason to change. These are built very strong and I have used it several times hauling very heavy loads on very bad roads. Works as it should .
I needed this to pull a heavy trailer thru several states. It performed flawlessly. I would recommend this for any heavy duty hauling in its class.
