The ball on this hitch is not spherical. If you clamp it into a trailer hitch, it rattles up and down (though not side-to-side). Other ball hitches in my arsenal (from different tow vehicles) are held snugly and don't rattle in any direction. Although not a safety issue, I don't like hearing the rattle on bumpy roads.

I haul a 5.5x10 open trailer w/ a 900 lb. ZTR, a push mower, and a handful of other tools 3 days a week. It is what it is. It does the job, no problem.
A little finish wear and rust on the ball, but nothing major. I LIVE ON A DIRT ROAD, which is probably responsible for the wear.
Ian B - 02/19/2021I wasn't aware that the ball was welded to the mount. I wouldn't have purchased it had I looked closer at the pictures before ordering. Otherwise nice curt product as usual.
Everything I run is 2inch so why not just buy this? I have a locking hitch pin so this only lessens something someone can steal now. Shipping was quick as always! No complaints!

I only use welded ball hitches; do not want to worry about the ball coming loose. For every drop height Curt makes this item. Also replaced bashed up connector mounts, wires and trailer connectors at this website. Will shop here in the future.

I have used this ball mount hauling my snowmobile trailer and boat trailer. No problems and very satisfied. The 7500 LB load capacity was the biggest selling feature. It covers my snowmobile trailer 7000 GVW. There is no other product out there that matches the quality and load capacity of this product.

Looks like a quality product. I had ordered a 2 1/4" drop receiver and ball and received a 2" drop, but whatever.
I only used the trailer hitch a couple of times and then sold the boat. The hitch worked fine !!

I was completely satisfied with the service, communication and product. This is the second time I purchased from etrailer.
Roy - 11/10/2022Does the job, however there's a lot of play when hitch mount is inserted into the hitch and when towing with an empty trailer. Very loud. Have to buy a silencer that goes around and secures the product.
David P - 09/21/2016It took a while before my son had time to install the trailer package. Took some watching of [online] videos but he got it installed and it works great. We’ve used it a couple of times to pull a small trailer.
My boat trailer is about 5k in total and it settled it down a little bit. Had no effect on the U-Haul trailer that I rented to move my son into college. All in all, it was a good purchase.
I know absolutely nothing about hitches! I checked prices and products in my area and was dissatisfied with high prises and confusion over which product would be best for my vehicle. Package arrived fast with a few rips in the cardboard box surrounding it. Nothing was missing or damaged so it was not an issue. Took about 30 minutes to install and turned out great. Another 15 for the electrical connection and it was all done. Price is right.
This hitch receiver was extremely high quality and easy to install as advertised. The wiring kit was also easy enough to plug in to my existing wiring harness. This is my second hitch receiver purchased from etrailer and I'm very satisfied!

I seldom take the time to write a review but I felt compelled to share my excellent overall experience with etrailer.com. I ordered the C13200 trailer hitch receiver, 2" ball, 2" ball mount receiver, pin/clip, and C56217 wiring harness for my 2017 Toyota Highlander XLE. All arrived in no time and in excellent condition. The installation videos and PDF documents are outstanding. I installed the hitch receiver in roughly 45 minutes - includes time to convince brother in-law to come over to help hoist it into place. Wiring harness installation was a breeze, roughly 20 minutes (again, great instructional videos). I could not be happier with the finished product. Too expensive. Sent back and bought a cheaper one from local hardware store for 1/2 the price.
Great design, easy install. Runs a touch low but that's how the back of Ford Explorer is designed for after-market installs. I would have probably purchased a hitch with upright assembly if possible.

The video and the written instructions for installing the hitch were very helpful for a novice like me. In the process I saw that there was a good reason for every tool listed for installing it. The hitch fits perfectly and looks very sturdy. Now we can't wait to be able to take our bicycles with us when we go to the mountains from Denver, letting us enjoy all the biking trails. Also the hitch arrived only 3 days after ordering it - great!
