Functions by design. I pull a 2003 behind my motorhome. Easy to install, easy to connect to Jeep and hitch of motorhome. Never had an issue pulling, put about 5000 miles on since purchase. I would do it again if needed. Great product
Delivered as promised!!!Arrived in just a few days and putting it together was a snap. All parts accounted for and easy instructions. Total work time to install was about 1 hour with no adjustments necessary and it allowed my Jeep to flat tow behind my pickup flawlessly. I would definatly purchase the Curt Tow Bar again and recommend it to friends and family.

Great tow bar for my 1995 Wrangler, only reason I’m not giving it 5 Stars is bc I couldn’t use the predrilled holes on the bumper....but that’s a minor complaint in my book, I ended up using the 2 inside predrilled holes on my bumper as the outside holes for the brackets.....this made it hard to get the tow bar wide enough to fit, but it did fit. Once I got it together, I tightened everything down. Tows like a champ

Tow bar arrived on time and in good shape.
Some assembly was required, had helpfull instructions, everything fit together properly and took about forty five minutes to assemble. You will need to figure out the best way to install safety chains, as they are not included and I can understand, because every application would be different. I will be towing my Jeep Wrangler behind my 40 foot Beaver Coach.

The two bar mounted to the existing brackets and was very easy to install took about 10 minutes!!
I ordered a towbar from etrailer. You guys never let me down. The towbar is great and the instructions were very complete. I got it all installed very easily and I am now ready to tow my Jeep to Big Bend National Park. If you need to tow a Jeep or any vehicle that weighs less than 5,000lbs you can't go wrong for the price.
Very well made and sturdy, can't wait to use this after the first of the year.

I was told that it isn't compatible with the Roadmaster EZ5 but I added 4 bushings to the attachment tab assembly holes on the base plate and I'm good to go at one third the cost. Excellent quality.
The tow bar came faster than it was expected and seems to be high quality especially considering the price. The packaging left a little to be desired. The box was starting to fall apart and was held shut by one little piece of tape. However nothing seems to be missing so all is well and I am a happy customer.
Great, solid construction. However, incorrect bolts and nuts accompanied the product. Bolt and nut were of two different measurements. eTrailer sent replacement nuts and bolts, which were also incorrect. It was easy for me to purchase correct nuts at local hdwe store.
I purchased the Curt Tow Bar with Adjustable-Width Arms - Car Mount - 2" Ball - 5,000 lbs. initially I was Leary of the product because of its low price compared to other tow bars. I now can say my concerns were needless because after flat towing my Wrangler over 5,000 trouble-free miles I have nothing negative but only positives to report. The best thing I like about the tow At is that it only takes 5 minutes to attach and unhook.
Dave S - 10/01/2020A simple, functional and robust tow bar, easy to assemble. Exactly what I needed for towing my Jeep Wrangler behind my RV.
Installed easy breezy on my 89 YJ. Had to make a small adjustment on the ball clasp, but other than that everything went as expected.
Very sturdy - cost effective simple design. No issues mounted to front of tj wrangle. Tows well.
For the price and what I needed it for, it's been good but I did make a modification because the rails would not stay in a fixed position. Rather than leave it as a "folding" tow bar, I added bolts and locking nuts right next to the bolts that held the arms in the hitch portion so the arms would not move.
I've used it quite a bit, towing a Ford Bronco II behind my motorhome. I've towed several thousand miles already.
My Curt tow bar is works great, easy to install and hook up. I installed it on my 1990 Jeep Comanche pickup to be pulled behind our RV and it does the job. I don’t worry about possible decouple like the more expensive tow bars. When not in use, I can stow it in place on my truck or quickly disconnect and stow it in the truck bed or storage compartment. Great investment!
We installed these trailer hitches on some dumpsters that needed to get towed from a sub-floor up to street level for trash days. They were very straight forward and fairly easy to install. They look good on there, nice and clean. These were a great fix for a problem that had me scratching my head for a few weeks. I would definitely recommend these to others that need tow hitch solutions.
Great item for the money. Only 1 of the hex nuts was damaged which made it a bit difficult to get the bolt tightened down, but all in all simple to install. It will fit our needs of towing our jeep wrangler. I got the RM643 safety cables and with a small drill out on the bumper was able to use them no problem. I like the quick disconnect on the hinges but will get locking ones for that.

Shane K - 03/07/2023There is not a lot of information on the internet about pulling this kind of VW. I did my homework and this works GREAT when pulling a standard transmission with key left in "ON" position. etrailer has a lot of variety to offer for different needs.
This is the lower priced, plain Jane, no frills, less moving parts for something to go wrong - exactly what I was looking for tow bar. With little work it folds up for storage easily. Installation on our '98 diesel VW was clean and easy without incident (I do all my own modifications when needed. There is no rattling loose fit in tight corners or straight a ways. We don't even know we are pulling anything behind our '68 Dodge Travco B210 (modified with 5.9 Cummins)

I bought this Blue Ox 5000lbs capacity tow bar because my Subaru Crosstrek only weighs 3100lbs and maybe 3300lbs while fully loaded with gear. I also wanted a simple tow bar that didn't break the bank.
This item arrived in less than two days. The Tow Bar fits perfectly in the back of the Subaru when not in use.
Very happy with this purchase. I understand this is more of the lower priced Blue Ox tow bars, but it's well built compared to others I've seen in the same price range.

A very well made product, though way stronger than needed for a Smart Car, though it all went together problem free. It's barely visible on the vehicle which is great, as many are so ugly.

Received my tow bar in excellent condition , amazing packaging . I was a little surprised that it required adjustment prior to use . My jeep already had a Blue Ox base plate installed so it was simple to slide the bar into the adapters . Much less complicated that my old bar . The only disadvantage is there is no way to keep the bar in an upright position . Looking forward to our first trip with it .

I purchased this tow bar to use with a Blue Ox base plate for my
1999 Mazda Miata. It is a very simple arrangement, with the 2 arms able to fold down to a smaller and more easily stored unit, but does not slide fore and aft as the more expensive tow bars do. As such, it takes a bit more manouvering of the towed vehicle to get it all lined up with the ball hitch. Not a problem for me, as the Miata is very light and easily pushed back and forth. Others with heavier vehicles may have more of an issue.
The quality of the tow bar is excellent. Price and delivery were also excellent. This is a great choice for a budget level tow bar.
Good product. Did everything I needed it to do. Used it to tow my Jeep. Super easy to hook up to blue ox baseplate. I could barely even notice it back there.. pulled it with my F150. No problems turning. Kept the Jeep under control, even on the Oregon Coast. Another quality product from blue ox. etrailer did a great job helping me out. Customer service was excellent and videos were helpful covering the entire scope of setup and installation. Thank.
Using this Blue Ox Adventurer Tow Bar on my Colorado together with a Blue Ox base plate. Both are a perfect fit and do the job very well. I installed this on my car myself It wasn’t too bad. Everything is exactly like it said. It works great. If ever change vehicles I will perches from them again.

My Blue Ox Tow Bar arrived faster than I expected. It fit the existing mounting brackets on my Jeep Wrangler perfectly. If my oil pump drive gear fails again, it will be easy for someone to tow me home. Now my wife won't worry so much when I'm hunting in the Wyoming mountains.
I have given this product 4 stars because I have not yet used it. However, upon inspection, I found it to be well made and sturdy. I am currently having the tow brackets and cross bar professionally installed.

This is a great budget towbar. It was even easier than I expected to hook up to the car and connect to my motorcoach. I am towing a 2015 Honda Fit and I was able to easily pull my car around by hand after hooking it up to this towbar.
