It holds 2 e-bikes, it's safe for carbon frames, and you can install a work stand (sold separately) for on-the-go repairs.I accidentally bought the 1 1/4 inch hitch and opted to use an adapter instead of returning it. It works great as expected, however, the hitch connection is not as secure with the adapter so it moves a bit more than I wish it did. Still a high quality product
Andrew N - 10/12/2022This is the absolute best! I have a Aventon level and pace 350! It does wobble a bit even when tight. I was told metal does that cause if it was Ridgid it could crack. So with that said it’s the absolute best!
Bought a new Mazda 3 HB and decided to go with a hitch bike rack. I've had a Kuat Trasnfer bike rack. That rack did it's job, but I felt the Sherpa or NV 2.0 Base would be better in every way. I've bought hitches and Kuat from etrailer and I knew their online prices and customer service was the best in business so it was a no brainer to go back to buy another bike rack. It was a tough decision between the Sherpa and NV 2.0 Base, but I felt had all the right checks for me to go with the NV Base 2.0. Once I ordered the rack, it was shipped the same day and arrived at my doorstep a day earlier! The box was ok, but the packaging inside was excellent. The quality is top notch and the manual is easy to read. Not gonna lie, the rack is heavy. I knew it was going to be heavy after researching on it and it's not a big deal, but doing a solo assembly wasn't going to be easy. Luckily I had my son with me to assist. Assembly took 15min (with another person). Manual doesn't state NM torque, but I set it around 8-10nm to bolt down everything. Once I put it on the hitch, I turned the anti-rattle knob and it locked the bike rack down to the hitch like a vice grip. It's solid and wont budge at all! everything on this rack is sturdy and top quality. The bike and rack barely sways during the drive. I can't express how impressive this rack is! The only down side to this and it's not even the rack, it's the hitch lock pin. It feels like an after thought and it's too thin. it flops around. With the price I paid for this, I was hoping for something little better. Overall all, the Kuat NV 2.0 Base is hands down the best bike rack on the market and I'm glad I went with it.
Best rack ever. Secure and fits my S6 SJ Alloy 29er. This rack has all the bells and whistles you need. Including cable locks for the bikes for when you run in the store.
Excellent quality but assembly was a bit ridiculous. However, once together, nothing outperforms Küat in my opinion. Quality American made stuff right there.

Needed a rack for one e-bike & lighter road bike. Being in my early 80's I liked the features of the various hitch mounted 2-bike Platform Rack, tilting, units. After looking at the 3 main competitors, I chose the Kuat NV 2.0 model BA12 B, in the 11/4' size & alum. When I went to cart I was even happier to see a lower price than expected.
In the on-line ordering process, The program didn't want to recognize my true mailing address. Called for help and Ashley E completed the order; very pleasant.
Order was placed on a Friday morning and the box was on @ my 2nd. flr. apt. doorstep the following Wednesday afternoon.
Once I figured out the bolt/nut direction was reversed on each attachment things went well. In my case I attached the 1st. bike rack to the main apparatus and carried down flights of steps to driveway. Found shipping box useful to hold up the rack as I pushed stem into my car hitch receiver. The I completed attaching the outer bike rack.
The positioning/ tilting apparatus works very easy. Well engineered and sturdy product. Looks great on my '09 Vibe which is also charcoal color.

My neighbor has an older Thule hitch rack and commented that Kuat's lever to raise/lower/tilt was a big improvement over his rack. I did have a self-inflicted install issue, but Kuat's customer service was outstanding and went out of their way to help me resolve the issue. Finally, I'd never ordered from etrailer.com before, but I was pleased with their communication throughout the ordering and shipping process. Buy this rack with confidence.

My brother-in-law and I bought this bike carrier after seeing it in Hilton Head. We absolutely love it! It attaches easily and securely to the car tow, and is simple & secure to load the bikes. The bikes then transport solidly. We like the feature in which the loaded rack can tilt outward, allowing access to our SUV hatch. And folded up, the rack only requires a small space for storage. I would recommend this bike rack to everyone!

I really appreciate the engineering that went into this product. It makes securing the bike so easy. In fact at first I thought it was too easy but after using it a few times I realized just how secure my insanely expensive bike was! I hardly ever take it off the vehicle now so I'm always ready to go bust a lung on my heavy-ish mtb.
Works as described. Kuat brand bike racks are built to last and best in the industry.
I have only gotten to use the rack once so far but it performed well. The rack feels quite solid. I got the 1-1/4" version so I am interested to see how durable the hitch tube is with (2) bikes on it. The anti-rattle device seems to perform as advertised and keeps the rack pretty stable in the receiver. In retrospect I might have gotten the Sherpa 2. This is not due to any issue with this rack except that it is HEAVY at ~55lbs. I think this is a necessity for its ability to carry (2) 60lb bikes. I don't think most people would actually have bikes that heavy. I think the Sherpa would have suited me well and been more manageable at ~35lb.
I have used this bike rack a lot over this past year, including a 1,200 mile trip to Canada and back. The rack is very sturdy and held up really well. I really liked the easy cable locks and the ease of tilting the whole rack with bikes to access the back of my Prius. This was one of the best purchases I've made! As this is so well built, I'm counting on using it for many years to come!
I am still loving this rack 1 year later! I use it on my Subaru Impreza sport, which is a pretty small car; this rack is light enough and perfect for this size car. It was easy to assemble, super easy to use and does a great job solidly holding the bikes. The lever to lower and lift the rack is ideal, it’s in a great spot with tread for ease of use. I highly recommend this bike rack.
Flawless rack. It is heavy duty and heavy but it should last as long I will need it. I would rather have heavy duty instead of cheap. I do not worry about the bikes when traveling. Did I also mention the built in locking cable-great idea-just wish it was a little longer-workaround is buy double looped bike cable-works great. etrailer had a great price and delivered it to me without any issues. I would but it again from etrailer.

Great rack. It is the only one on which I am able to “guide on” my 65 pound ebike. I would be lost without it.
Love it, works well for my husband while. We use this frequently and have had no issues after a year of use. Hold the bike securely.
Versatile and secure from road bike to ebike. Only drawback is the weight. I'm fine with it, my wife won't use it by herself.

Impressed with the light weight that is easy to move around. Significant improvement over past hitches which were very heavy and difficult for one person to install.
Kenneth - 10/24/2022I purchased this product at the height of the pandemic and it took approximately 3-4 months to arrive. Once assembled, it turned out that a critical metal component of the rack had an apparent manufacturing/sizing defect that prevented proper assembly. I was impressed with Kuat's customer service, which requested I send photos of the suspect part and which ultimately resulted in the replacement of a large segment of the rack, the individual cost of which was approximately 25% of the overall purchase price. Since that replacement, the rack has worked flawlessly. Sometimes one has to chalk up a bad experience to the slim odds of a manufacturing defect, which occurred here. However, once examined, Kuat more than satisfied. But for the delays occasioned by the defect, would otherwise rate 5 stars.
Lee - 10/16/2022No buyer’s remorse here! After quite a bit of reading and comparing, I have no regrets about purchasing the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. Excellent product, great quality. I would purchase all over again. It is a solid rack that is esthetically impressive to boot.
Quality product, good design/engineering, and works well with my mountain bikes, road bikes and ebikes with fenders. Like the quick bike mounting, integrated cable lock, easy to use knob for tightening the rack into the receiver hitch. I switched to a hitch rack with a new vehicle purchase after twenty years of a roof rack system. They each have their pluses and minuses but this Sherpa 2.0 seems to be a quality product after one year of use. I’d recommend the NV model for heavier ebike loads. Etrailer customer service, quick delivery and price makes them a go to vendor.
Really impressed by the quality. Some minor assembly required but the factory has made assembly very easy. The rack is very sturdy & the hitch tightening assembly works really well. The rack positioning also works flawlessly and is solid. Yes it is an expensive rack but you get what you pay for here. Of course eTrailers shipping page keeps you abreast of where your package is located as it makes its way to you. As soon as UPS drops the package off at your door its immediately reflected on your orders shipping page. So you dont have to wait at home for it to arrive. Just check eTrailers online shipping page & you know when it has arrived.
The quality of this rack is outstanding. I had a Saris super clamp ex and had to take it back for other reasons not related to quality and this rack by Kuwat is a better built higher quality rack and ease of operations is much better than the Saris. The attention to quality is evident right out of the box with the assembly process. You will be highly satisfied with this purchase!

I love how light and minimal this rack is to connect and disconnect to the car, and while driving with it. Yet it is fully capable of carrying full mountain bikes.

This Kuat Sherpa 2.0 bike rack is actually really awesome. It's super sturdy and holds the bikes well. I was worried about it feeling wobbly, but it's not. Really glad with the purchase.
I usually don't write too many product reviews, BUT I compulsively read them all the time in detail before purchasing items! This time I decided to return the favor to mankind and write a review for the Kuat Sherpa 2.0. I just LOVE IT! I had a problem assembling it - spent about 15 hours trying to put it together along with lots of additional help but it was impossible. The company paid for us to take it in to our local bike shop to fix it. So I was happy.
I am a petite 5'2" woman and not very strong and I am able to carry and put this rack into the hitch and load and strap my bike/bikes all by myself with relative ease!!! Which is exactly what i needed in a bike rack! I have had this rack for one year and have taken my bikes on this rack all over and they are secured extremely well. I also like that it has a bike lock/chain that is incorporated in the rack - so I didn't need to buy a separate lock! It also uses the same key that locks the bike rack to the hitch! So no juggling of two keys! I don't think there is anything else that I could have asked for in this rack that they could improve on and this says a lot coming from quite a fastidious consumer!
It also looks very sleek and stylish and goes very well with my white Nissan murano! Added bonus!!! I love it!

Very fast to mount and unmount the bike. I never remove the rack from the SUV - I can easily open the back doors by lowering the rack. Its been flawless. Never rattles. Supports the bikes by the wheels, not the frame. I have carbon frame bikes and don't worry about them even when driving over bumpy roads.

If you own a truck and don’t want to load your bike to the bed, this is what you need, it’s great, very easy to use and it looks sweeeet.
The quality of the constructed parts and ease of use is excellent and justifies the cost of this bicycle carrier. Only gave 4 stars, because I had to disassemble the it some by loosing two bolts, to get the bolt I was to install to line up with the hole. This added about seven to ten minutes more to assemble time. In all there is only four bolts to be installed. The directions and on line video made it easy, except for the one bolt I had the issue with. Like the fact it is not black, but pearl white; nice on sunny 90 degree day to not burn the fingers. Excellent Made in America quality product!

Bikes feel very secure. The color matches well to our car - interesting change from basic black. Etrailer kept me updated with status of order (was on back order due to high demand) and followed up post delivery.
It's a beautiful rack on a white car. Functions smoothly, light to take on and off. Very happy with it.
