Now guys, I think the OffGrid is definitely an awesome-looking cargo basket. Yakima, always kind of designing with style in mind, of course, not only with style though, that also gives you a lot of great little contact points. That's gonna be awesome for your cam buckle or racket strap systems to go ahead and start securing all the cargo that we might wanna throw up on here. As you guys are seeing, it's pretty much taking up the entire roof of the Tiguan, that means you're gonna have no trouble fitting almost everything you need on here.

Reese 24x60 Hitch Cargo Carrier Review - 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan

Ryan: Hey everybody, Ryan here at etrailer.com. Today on our 2018 Volkswagen Tiguan, we're going to be taking a look at the Reese Explore cargo carrier. Now a hitch-mounted cargo carrier is going to allow us to put all of our gear on the outside of our car, freeing up all that space on the inside for a more comfortable ride. Since this is one of the larger carriers available, it's going to have no problem carrying those full-size coolers, camping equipment or even that sporting equipment. Our carrier's usable space is going to be 24" long, 60" wide, and it's going to be 5-1/2" tall, which is a great size considering oftentimes the Tiguan is more of a family car and has a lot of cargo. Now the bottom of our carrier is going to be made out of mesh, and that's not only going to help keep it lightweight, it's also going to be easy to clean. That way if you get any mud or dirt on the bottom of it, you can just hose it right off and get it shining again. If you want to be extra safe or if your cargo is very tall and blocking your tail lights, there actually is a light kit available that fits into these openings for a clean look. Now even though our carrier is more lightweight compared to many of the other ones that I've had experience with, it's still going to have a 500-pound maximum weight capacity.
