Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2"
How it was received; either is was mail destroyed or UPS did this in the process. No telling what parts are missing, waiting for UPS to come pick this and E-Trailer to send out replacement. I thought these product would be packaged better from the factory for shipping resilience.
Of the many hitch receivers I have purchased, the front mounted ones have never failed to surprise me of their usefulness! From bike racks, to carrier for coolers, to my chainsaws, gas and oil, they make it work. Recently while cutting wood for a hunting lease engagement, I put a second ball on the front and used it to drive a 16' trailer up a hill to get the wood where it was needed for offloading. Backing it up had resulting in damaged trucks, trailers and numerous attempts. Using the front hitch it was a one and done deal! Love it! I have even used it to pull trees over when felling. I don't have enough fingers and toes to count the uses! If you have ever thought about it, just stop and order! You won't regret it!

The hitched arrived three days early and I was able to install it in less than 2 hrs with a little help from my wife and a floor jack. Perfect fit!! No shimms necessary Vwrry happy.
The hitch installed easily on the front of my truck and has given me more versatility in using my truck. In the summer I carry 3 bikes on a hitch rack when I go camping. I also hook up a 12000 lb. winch when needed. Sometimes I use the front hitch when moving my boat. This is a very sturdy and reliable hitch. Etrailer customer service is excellent.

I have had the front receiver hitch installed on my 1996 Suburban for about a year now. I have a 12000 lb winch installed using that receiver hitch. I have gotten stuck twice and had to use the winch to extract the truck. Very glad that I have the front receiver hitch as it made putting on the winch very easy. Also useful for mounting a receiver mount bicycle rack to the front as well.
Product was shipped promptly and arrived a few days later. Packing was good for a heavy item with pointy edges, no issues breaking out of the box. Installation on a lift took about 30 minutes on my 1999 K2500 Suburban. The bolts were long enough to allow for my tow hooks that were already in place. A bolt stringer to pull the rear bolts from the top (inside the frame) is provided along with nuts, the other four just replaced the stock bolts that I had that mount from the bottom into tapped frame metal through the tow hooks. Curt makes great quality stuff. Clearance was reduced a little but I'm not concerned about it.

Great products, great prices, fast shipping and a great company to do business with. Easy install, and it took longer to trim the air dam than installing the hitch.
Terrible, they sent the wrong hitch and now want me to pay shipping for the return

Front Trailer Hitch for a 2014 Toyota 4Runner was delivered quickly and in perfect shape. Installation was straight forward, however I spent more time trying to remove the super tight 4 bolts from the frame in order to install the hitch. There's not a lot of room once the hitch is installed to tighten the the upper bolts. I had to use a smaller ratchet in the tight space. I also used anti-seize on all the bolts prior to re-installing them. This hitch will be used for a fishing cooler rack and rod holder while on the beach. So Far I'm very satisfied with this product. Draw-Tight makes a good product.
Super easy install. 25 min. Use a Jack and angle it in like the first picture. Then when you get the 2 side bolts almost snug, use the Jack to move it up into place. Then just put the 4 stock bolts back in and torque to specs. I will use this front hitch for a bike rack, winch and fishing cooler in the summer Thanks Etrailer, it went in as easy as you said it would. super fast shipping also!

This is the third Curt front receiver hitch I have used on vehicles. The hitch was good quality with clear instructions included. It definitely helped during installation that I had a friend and shop to do the install as the ends had to be spread a hair to slide around the frame rails. We had the hitch installed in about 20 minutes. The reason for the average rating is that this is supposed to fit the 2010 Ford F150 Raptor. Although it does fit, you cannot reinstall the skid plate without sever modifications and then, the skid plate would just be for looks. The end of the hitch also sits behind the bumper requiring me to purchase a hitch extension in order for me to install my receiver mounted winch. I bought the RM-071-1075 from etrailer in order to mount the winch. Recently I had to use the winch and had no issues with this set up doing a straight pull. When we tried to pull at a slight angle, I was afraid of exceeding the capacity of the hitch due to the extra leverage caused by the extension (big heavy Raptor on 37's buried in mud and snow). Overall I would have given the receiver hitch 5 stars if the description mentioned that there would be issues installing on a Raptor. I probably would have done a traditional bumper mounted winch but I like being able to move the winch front to back (which is how I ended getting out of the situation).
This is my second Curt Front mount Hitch Receiver I have purchased. I use it to launch my boat and wave runner. The mounting instructions need to be corrected. I placed this receiver on the front of a 2011 Ford F150 4wd. I found it easiest to place the Bolt on Forward passenger side first. The instructions said to place bolts and bushings from inside. There is not enough clearance between the radiator and the frame to place the bolt from inside out. I found it easiest to mount with the nuts closest to the radiator. I did not trim the bumper fascia and it still fits perfect. (plastic has some give) The 5/8 fish wires are great! All hardware is packaged and taped to Hitch.

Product is great! Exceeds my expectations for ease of installation and performance. I removed the 3” spoiler completely vs cutting for hitch. The key is to “dry fit” in place and use a metal punch to mark all your drill holes. Wire bolt feeder worked great for installing bolts. I used the hitch to mount my eight pole rod & cooler holder for surf fishing.
Super fast shipping, but could use better packing.Hitch actually made a large hole in box,UPS driver had me check to see if anything was missing.Easy install, but try finding a 17/32" bit. After seeing how big the front opening is I just used a 1/2" bit. I think it took longer to remove, trim and reinstall the front spoiler than the rest of the job. Looks great installed

the install went very good but i do have one suggestion and see if your maker can put a notch in the middle hole to look like the tow hook it would make the install way more user friendly also had a little problem with one of your bolts after i had fished it down the hole the treads were burred and the nut wouldn't go on all the way so i had to fish it back out what a pain that was but got it done and replaced with one of the other bolts that you supplied me with and it went on great. now i have a ? about the hitch height mine only sits up at about 11 inches and change will that work with your snowplows that say they need 13 inches or will i have to do something different? but thanks for the great turn around time in getting it here quick.
Well made and easy to install. All of the necessary parts were included and the video on the product page made it a breeze to install. Working on my driveway with no lift. I am 73 and used a floor jack to lift it and hold it in place until the first two bolts were in place.

Shipping was fast and packaged good with no scratches. I modified my 2010 Tundra skid pan for oil filter changes before mounting. Replaced all 4 OEM tow ring bolts using anti-seize with new longer M12-1.25 X 40MM class 10.9 zinc finished hex cap screws along with new M12 X 24MM OD HARD WASHERS and torqued all 4 to 79 ft/lbs. Mounted new Thule EasyFold XT 2 Hitch Bike Rack and it fits in front without using the hitch extension. All went together as planned and can now take E-Bikes with us while pulling our camper. We are happy campers!
Fit perfectly with tow hooks on my 2016 Tundra. Had my mechanic install it and cut the hole in the skid plate. The receiver is shown with the Kuat Hi/Lo hitch extender and a bike rack.

Picked this up from etrailer for a great price, so i can put a hitch-mounted winch on the front of our race tow vehicle (and perhaps use it to get the trailer into tight spots). As always with etrailer, it was delivered quick (and free!). One of the arms was just slightly bent (perhaps from shipment) so I had to whack it a couple times with a heavy hammer to get the holes to line up, but after that it fit perfectly. The little "fishing" tool included is extremely handy for installing the two bolts that need to come from inside the frame of the truck. All in all, quality is great and this particular one fits with my factory skidplate/splashguard with a small amount of trimming with some metal shears. PS - we also have stuff from etrailer on the rear end. Highly recommend anything you buy from etrailer!
My hitch arrived quickly and my mechanic installed it in 1.5 hours for me a few days later. The factory skid plate fits nicely with 2 holes cut as a modification. His only concern is he will now have to use hand tools instead of his air tools on some bolts holding the skid plate at oil change time. But no big deal at all. I keep a 16 foot boat in my warehouse and maneuvering room is very tight. The door is narrow and there is a building across from my door that leaves very little room to maneuver my truck in. With my new front hitch I put the boat in the warehouse in less than a minute the first try. The front hitch makes it easier in 2 ways: 1) visibility-you can see what you are doing. You are closer to your work and you are looking straight at it. 2) with the trailer closer to the front wheels you can do things in tight quarters that just can't happen working with the rear hitch. Using the rear hitch the front of your truck would hit the wall of the opposite building. My only regret is not getting this ten years ago. I recommend a front hitch to anyone who needs to maneuver a trailer in tight spaces.

The receiver was very easy to install and fit like a glove. I have installed a 12000 # winch for when I go hunting. Thank You , Gwendolyn for your help you were great to work with.
Shipped on time. Fit good. Easy Install. On my half ton chevy it is kind of close to the ground , I had to get a 8" drop hitch and flip it over and mount the ball on that. That is not the receiver hitches fault. It works great for moving stuff around my shop / property. front hitch makes "backing" trailers in to a tight spot simple.

Installing onto my 2014 Silverado 1500 was a breeze. The only thing that caught me off guard was that I needed to cut a portion from the center of my splash guard for the rear bracket to be able to mount. I was only expecting to trim/remove the air dam as etrailer explained in the item description, which I still had to do. Other than that it was a perfect fit and I'm happy with the results. I plan to use this for a snow plow, winch, and many more interchangeable items for it.
I installed this front hitch by myself on a 2016 Chevy Suburban in about 3.5 hours with no floor jack. I use it to carry my mountain bikes when we are towing the trailer. The hitch sits 8.25” off the ground and extends out past the air dam about 3.5”. Once installed, the hitch is not very noticeable. A couple notes on the install: 1. The most difficult part is figuring out where to make the hole in the splash shield for the rear mounting point. I removed the splash shield and determined roughly where to cut a 1.5” hole based on the existing holes in the cross member. 2. To cut the air dam, I drilled small holes the the corners then used a utility knife to score and cut out the section. 3. I mounted the rear point first which gave me leverage to install the front easier. 4. The tape method for the 9/16 hardened washer and cone washer did not work for me. I had to finagle them into position as I was tightening the bolts (huge pain) 5. I had 4 extra 9/16 hardened washers. These are apparently supplied in case you need additional washers to fill the gap in the frame. I am very satisfied with this product and would definitely recommend it to others.

I got to say I'm one of the picky shoppers. I must see all reviews thoroughly, check it out from every angle and see multiple pictures before even being convinced to buy something online. I'm a welder and I was thinking about fabricating my own. After considering all the time for mounting breaking ,the plates drilling slotted holes. Steel price and then powder coating. This right here was an absolute supreme option all the work is done guaranteed to fit. So I took the Gamble and bought it and are not disappointed with their quality. Just like everything says I put it together in 45 minutes me and my 13 year old son. It is quite heavy lifting overhead to bolt up. Recommend having another person help you lift one side while fastening the bolt. The hardest part was getting the bolt to go through the sq punch out with the spring coil wire attachment that pulls the bolt through the frame. End result I'm extremely happy I did not have to cut any plastics or modify anything on my truck whatsoever. My truck is a 2001 Ford F-150 four-wheel drive crew cab. Now I have me my 9,000 lb winch on the front of my truck.
2003 F-150 4X4 Lariat. I accomplished installation alone in about 1 hour as a complete newbie. Here are my tips: 1. Read instructions and other comments ahead of time. 2. Spray the tow hook bolts a day or two ahead of time with a penetrating oil spray. 3. There is nothing to hold the factory nut plate (inside the frame rail) when the tow hook bolts are removed. After I removed the first tow hook bolt and loosened the other one for some "working room), I threaded a thin piece of flexible wire through the bolt hole and nut plate, out another nearby hole on the side of the frame rail and twisted it together to keep the factory nut plate in position. Then, I removed the second tow hook bolt and the tow hook. Leave the flexible wire in place for now. Do the same on both sides of the vehicle. 4. You have to temporarily remove the tow hooks completely but I did not have to remove any other trim / fascia. 5. The fish wire is essential. I passed the empty threaded portion of the fish wire through the bolt hole for the new bolt from below and advanced it toward the front of the vehicle. There is enough room once it comes out of the front of the frame rail to thread on the new bolt ... with the new nut plate included ... then pull it into the inside of the frame rail behind the bumper fascia ... then wiggle / "jimmy" it back until it drops into position. 6. Once the new bolt / nut plate was in position, I used a few drops of super glue to tack the nut plate into position through another nearby square hole where the new nut plate was visible. Do the same on both sides of the vehicle. 7. I used a hydraulic floor jack to position the receiver under the vehicle. A little metal lip at the center of the receiver fit right into the notches on the cup of the jack. 8. I carefully raised the receiver into position with the jack. I started a little bit toward the back of the vehicle. This let the front lip of the receiver slide forward into the fascia opening for the tow hook. Once the front of the receiver was through that, I lined it up, raised it and the new bolts (with the super-glued nut plates inside the frame rail) came through the receiver mounting holes perfectly. I put the two new nuts on the two new bolts "finger tight". 9. I raised the receiver a little further but leaving a few mm of space between the front of the receiver and the frame rail ... where the flexible wire mentioned above was coming out. The holes should line up at this point. Leave the flexible wire in place for now. 10. Use one hand to hold the tow hook in position. Thread one of the original tow hook bolts through the the tow hook, the receiver, the hole in the frame WITHOUT the flexible wire and into the nut plate inside the frame rail "finger tight". This will "grab" the factory nut plate inside the frame rail. Now, you can untwist / pull out the flexible wire through the other tow bolt hole and thread that bolt as well. Repeat the process for the other side of the vehicle. 11. Now, all 6 bolts / nuts are threaded in position "finger tight". Tighten / torque them sequentially ... and you're done!

was sent a hitch for a 4 wheel drive when I ordered a hitch for a 2 wheel drive and company wants to charge $xx.xx to return after sending the wrong hitch. after contacting Nicole in chat mode she says they don't carry the 2 wheel drive hitch. so my only choice is to eat $xx.xx to return a defective product that did not fit my 1998 ford F-150 light duty 2 wheel drive
The trailer hitch itself is well made and overall excellent quality. The only reason it didn't get 5-stars is the same reason mentioned by many others. The directions leave something to be desired. A couple of extra diagrams would have made the job easier to figure out. That said, it was about a 2-hour install. One detail for my 2002 F-150, I would recommend removing the plastic bumper skirt. The extra 15-20 min to remove and reinstall it will save a significant amount of struggle trying to jam bolts and wires through the front of the frame rail, install spacers, and make the install much easier. Also, having an extra person to help hold the hitch in place while installing the bolts will make the job smoother. You can do it yourself, it's just more work and struggle. Overall, a great product. I'd buy it again.

Curt Front Mount Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - 2"
Easy install. Mounted on 07 Expedition EL. Previously installed tow hooks on this truck. Need the hardware from the tow hooks or additional Grade 8 (1/2) hardware to mount. Had to drill 2 additional holes in the frame. This was noted by other buyers. The instructions from Curt say additional holes may be required. Their instructions are great. Drop ship direct from Curt and 0 packing material was used. This thing is a huge hunk of steel. I didnt have to trim the fascia but have to push it up maybe 1/8 inch or so to put a hitch in. Bought it mainly for use with a front bike rack. Others have said they needed an extention, which may or may not be true based on the attachment you're using. A winch mount or cargo carrier may need an extention. Looks great and tucks up nice and tight.
Very good product. Took longer to install than instructions mentioned. Taking apart some of the factory fasteners requires special tools that most people wouldn't have. Installing the hitch went well after factory installed stuff was removed and out of the way. Job is best accomblished with two people to align holes and such. Fit on frame was real good.

I am not sure that installing this hitch could have been easier. I did it on the ground on my driveway, sloped, by removing my tow hooks and supporting the receiver on some blocks and bolting it in place directly into the frame. The hardware fit perfectly in alignment and thread size etc. We've mostly used it to carry bicycles when towing, though once placed a trailer with it also. Strong, fully functional and as noted easy to install.
Haven’t had a chance to use the front hitch on our Nissan Frontier year but the installation was quick and easy. I was all set to knock the installation out in 20 minutes until one of the split lock washers failed and had to be replaced out of my spare stock. Also an additional note: the hitch showed up heavily scratched despite the packaging having been in good condition. Maybe some more careful handling at the warehouse is in order.

The "no drill" aspect is really nice. The wire bolt guides are a huge helper. The instructions are very good except for detailing where to cut the trim. This lead to me cutting more than I would have needed to. That part was not good. I recommend having vehicle up on ramps and then using a car jack to support weight of the hitch as it is quite heavy to hold up as you begin to assemble to the frame.
Very sturdy hitch, extremely easy install. If you already have your air dam removed there is no cutting or modification at all, completely bolt on. Make sure you have both front load bearing washers centered before you completely bolt down the hitch. I didn't need any alignment washers on the back brace it was very level as is, if you are using this for winching keep in mind it will affect your approach exit angles. Overall a great product!

The hitch receiver arrived ahead of schedule and was exactly what was needed to attach to the front of our 2008 Dodge Durango.
Need to beef up front of hitch, the frame location is not strong enough to prevent bending over, thus hitch points down instead of staying level. U clamp in back does not prevent hitch from moving back, which also contributes to level issue.
