Best Ram 1500 Gooseneck Hitches

I bought this hitch for my 2014 Ram 1500. I love it. I've had a few gooseneck hitches in my life and this one is my favorite. I love the fact you can unlock the ball in the bed without jumping in and out. Just turn the key provided and turn the ball over. If I replace this truck down the road, I will be ordering this hitch again. Great hitch, strongly recommend.

This B&W Turnover Underbed Gooseneck Trailer Hitch setup fit my RAM 1500 perfectly. Removal of the ball is a breeze and it secures firmly in place when re-installed.

Great product w great instructions. It was an affordable package that installed decently. We have used the hitch for a year now and have had zero issues w it. The only reason for not giving it 5 stars was because the cross bars that go between the frame rails needed to have the threaded holes chased w a tap to remove the powder coating prior to installation. I initially tried installing it without chasing the threads and the bolts started to get very tight before the parts even pulled together. Once the threads were clean, everything assembled very well. The hitch takes time to install, at least if you want it to look good and be correct. On a 1500 ram, you will probably need to install some form of helper spring or air bags to prevent the rear from squatting from the weight of the gooseneck trailer…the factory 1500 coil springs are not firm enough on their own.

Ordered this after deciding to go with it over a B&W kit due to me not using it a whole lot and the price difference. When I received the package 1/2 the hardware was missing because the inner box it was in was all broke apart and the outer box was not sealed up. So I would have to give the packaging and shipping one star because I had to go spend an extra $75 on grade 8 hardware. The paper directions were not totally clear on several thing so we resorted to the video which helped a lot. The two large carriage bolts that go in the rear cross member are a little deceiving because the video makes it seem like they slip right in. However, the heads were larger than the pass through in the frame rails so it took quite a bit of extra time and ingenuity to get those fished through there with the plates.(The carriage bolts survived shipping so they were what came with the kit). In the video it showed where he cut a large u out of the inner fender to clear the pull handle and notched the bed that looked kind of sloppy. With a few extra measurements you can just cut a hole in both for handle to slide through and give it a much cleaner look. Definitely recommend putting a bolt through receiver holes and using a strap to hold up center plate through hole in bed after you get it into place. Makes life a lot easier until you get the bolt ls in. Overall this hitch works and functions great. Install went pretty smooth with two people and I would recommend it to anyone needing a hitch.

Overall this Installation went as I anticipated, 4-5 hours; it's not for an unprepared amateur. I strongly recommend watching the Installation Video, but more importantly, disconnecting the wiring harness (from both sides, there's 3 connectors) that cross over the rear cross member above the Differential. Disconnecting the rear exhaust was a MUST DO for us (my son helped me) as is a second person. Patience was our friend during this entire Installation for both of us. The brake line that crosses over to the passenger side was of concern to me, and got in the way as well; in the end it is below this entire installation. However there is a Mount Block on the driverside that creates a problemwith getting one bolt into place; a "Fishing Spring" (spring wire that wraps around the threads with long tail to fish/thread/pull thru the hole) would have helped to get this into place. (SEE PICTURE) Once in place the head is able to be held with a narrow spanked wrench while tightening. The rear center bolt is a HUGE challenge to reach once everything is in place and you're torquing things to spec.I had to purchase a "3/4" Crowsfoot" to get this and some of the others because of things blocking access with a socket (not talked about in the video or Installation Video). Once everything is in place and Reconnecting electrical plugs we found that there was enough gap/spacebehind the Kit Rear Cross Bar, over the vehicle rear cross member, to run the driver side electrical. Pay attention to have the "male" plug facing inboard to give you enough slack to reach the passenger side plug. A couple of zip-ties were needed to keep this inplace. See picture for how I routed this and the vent tube to avoid the heatshield. I've got a 26 foot Keystone Cougar 5th wheel RV Trailer that I be using this, along with an Andersen 3217 hitch. With this B&W Hitch I don't have the 5th wheel Rails across the bed full-time anymore of my 2022 Ram 1500DT 4x4.

The hitch works good and installed fairly easy in my Ram 1500. The materials seem to be sturdy and well made.

Solid built! Ball moves much better than I expected. Install takes some focus and the right tools but overall the manufactures guides and support provided from etrailer covered everything. This unit sits back over the axle much better than the hidden hitch style does. Yes, you can see it but if you have any concern about your trailer getting into your cab this unit gives you some critical inches. Wouldn't hesitate to purchase another in the future.

etrailer does not have free returns, one year later this is still sitting in the box. I will never buy from etrailer again.

product came on time, well packaged, putting unit together was fairly easy only problem we had was getting the bolts out of the truck bed so we could lift it up to slide the rails in.

Had to hit one of my rails with a 2 lb sledge just a fuzz to let the tab drop in. The locking tabs are a good idea for the pins. I put my late grandfather’s old classic padlock from his jon boat on one of the tabs. A little nostalgia.

The Gooseneck hitch that I received had already been opened and obviously was somebody elses return. Spent over $[XX] and received someones return. It appears not to have pulled a trailer but was inserted into someones truck recepter by the visible dirt and even the rubber cover insert is dirty. Did not expect that from etrailer.

Very impressed with the quality of this product. It fits perfectly in my Ram puck system with no slop or play.

Easy installation. We had 3 guys and were done in 20 minutes less than instructions said. Works fine as frog's hair! When measuring the hole in the bed remember to measure from the front of the bed and rear! Then look underneath for the bed crossmember.

this installed correctly on my 2005 dodge ram 2500 diesel per instructions for installation with air bags. I have hauled a 42 foot 3 axle car trailer for over 6,000 miles with no issues. This was a great purchase. Thank you

Unit installed and pulled my fifth wheel to provincetowne Mass. Unhooked and pulled the ball out and picked up some firewood. Nice flat surface. Love it. Only way to go.

Great value and durability. Self install in about 3 hours and has remained solid since then. Put in about 10k miles towing a 31 foot trailer with it.

When I placed my order I was given the option of taking a slightly used item for a nice discount. It arrived and looks BRAND NEW! I am happy once again for the quick service and great products from etrailer.

Excellent . I love this whole unit. As a single woman I really appreciate the case to hold the hitch and tie down rings. When I need to use the gooseneck in my truck it's quick and easy to install. When I need the full bed to haul hay and bags of grain, the hitch can be stored away under the back seat in my truck. Very bpkeased with the quality.

It was easy to install and works perfectly so far, I have only towed a 23,000 lbs gooseneck so far and am very pleased.

my install was completely custom as the back end of my 2005 ram 3500 is custom. I converted it into a weld in place hitch since the factory location was not being uses. axle was moved back 28" so the hitch had to be also.

I like everything except. One of the u bolt’s for the safety touches the top of the crossover pipe under the bed. I keep a towel under it so it doesn’t rub a hole in my pipe. I followed the directions and used what came with it to lay it out. So I don’t know how that happened.

Difficult to determine installation ease, as I had the bed off my truck while installing. That made it very easy, but instructions were good and its a straightforward process. Very well made, and fit precisely on my truck. I think the B&W system is very tough to beat. Solid and dependable. And their after sale customer service is excellent.

This was my first order I placed with et etrailer. If one work could say it I guess it would perfect! I ordered on a Tuesday arrived on Thursday. I Placed the order got conformation and a name and contact to call if I had any issues, once it arrived I got another email letting me know if had been delivered. The installation video was perfect made it’s easy to install just followed the steps. When I need any trailer related items I will use them. As far as the B&W hitch i put it in a 2017 Ram 2500 with Ram boxes. The fit and quality of the hitch and design is what I have come to expect from B&W. I got this hitch to pull a gooseneck horse trailer. If your wondering if it will work with Ram Boxes it will.

Great product from a great company. B&W sets the bar when it comes to all things towing/trailer related. And etrailer.com compliments them very well with customer service. I have utilized my turnover set up for about a year now with no issues. the convince of having a gooseneck ball when needed but still having complete use of my bed space critical for me as a contractor. I am constantly using the bed of my truck to haul tools and light material from site to site but also on occasion have to pick up bulk materials or move equipment with our gooseneck. The turnover ball from B&W was exactly what we needed to remain versatile.

I love my hitch . I love how I can turn it over and I can still have use of the full truck bed. I could of bought a cheaper hitch but the quality is by far better than other hitches I have owned in the past. Customer service was great after they helped me fix my ordering mistake. Very happy with my hitch.

Ok first off. The paint adhesion of any b&w product is probably the worst I've seen for the money. The paint is the first thing that falls off. That being said if you know that already and take some precautions like I did then you can really easily fix this problem. I sandblasted the back half of my frame and did the 3 step por-15 method on everything. I currently live in Indiana and I do seldomly drive it in the winter but I hate rust and will be moving more south shortly. I por-ed every part that came with the hitch. Every bolt and nut got anti-seize. The bolts are also of basic quality and will rust fast. Anything that was metal on metal contact has a layer of marine grease to prevent the from from rusting in between. I'm extra but I felt that this was the only way to go to protect everything. It's still a great product and hasn't let me down yet.

Between the videos and the instructions it was very easy to follow. If you’re like me and don’t want to cut your fender liners I simply removed the front bed bolts and jacked one side up to slide in the mounting rails. The only fender I had to cut was the drivers side to allow for the latch pin lever. I really like just how “flush” the hitch really is once you turn over the ball. Overall very impressed with the hitch so far and have already recommended the hitch to other family members and friends.

This hitch is great and I installed it with no problems. This is the hitch to buy if you want quality and strength. The removable ball stores away and is right where you need it.

I got a reduce price on a B&W weld in five wheel ball mount do to cosmetic scathing on tow ball which was almost non excestant save 65 dollars as usual B&W makes the most high qaulty parts and e trail are always excellent shipping was faster than they said. Thx again for passing on the savings to the customer

Came in a timely manner, about a week from the time I ordered it to it delivered to my door step in Alaska. The hitch itself is very high quality with nice clean welds and sharp clean edges which took almost no prep work to weld in to the frame I had built for it. You could tell by looking at this that B&W uses nice welding equipment and employs quality welders. Overall very happy with this. Installed on Monroe flatbed on F-450 cab and chassis truck.
