EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
Ecohitch receiver arrived with no packaging on it, and parts kit shrink wrapped to it. Loses a star for ZERO protection during shipping. Receiver itself fit perfectly on a 2023 Rav4 Hybrid Woodland Edition. Used a dremel to cut the bumper fascia as directed in the instructions. Removed (3) Rearmost exhaust hangers and hung the exhaust from a ratchet strap. I’d recommend starting on the driver’s side when bolting up, as passenger side is tight. The whole process took me about 2 hours working solo. A (recommended) second installer would make the job go a lot faster. I have to go back and touch-up some paint, and the install is done. Finished install looks good. No complaints.
The hitch itself is well built. Do I think it should be double the price of the others.. probably not. I went with this hitch to have more clearance from the ground. I also didn't cut the bumper and it still looks and fits nicely without doing that. I figured if I wanted to cut it out after I could. The ONLY problem is that some of the hitch coating was scratch and rubbed off from shipping.I took some rust protection and spayed it and called it good in thos spots. Here in AZ it should last forever. I did put it up by myself using even four limbs, help it recommend. Overall shipping was fast and the hitch has quality. Should do the job and last as long as the rav4 does. If I had any downside is the price.

EcoHitch Hidden Trailer Hitch Receiver - Custom Fit - Class III - 2"
I had the ECO-Hitch installed by my Toyota dealer on my brand new 2018 Rav4. The instructions that were sent with the hitch were poorly written and the pictures were basically black with some yellow highlights in them. Impossible to see what the picture was. There was so much confusion about what needed to be done to the 2018 to get the hitch in place. Out of all the confusion and my insistence that the hitch be hidden and no damage be done to the bumper it was finally done...it was hidden and a hole had to be cut into the bumper for the receiver. Better and more specific instructions for 2018 Rav4 would have been good. It took 4 hours to finally install it . Was happy with the hitch itself and looks good now.
Just installed the Ecohitch on my 2018 Rav4 Hybrid. The hitch is well made and fit my Rav4 just fine, nice and hidden. I was able to install this without jacking car up, I was able to reach everything just laying on my back. Lifting the hitch in place by myself was a bit of a puzzle, but if you get one of the forward bolts in the exhaust side, you can then lift the other side into place. Just a few notes, the instructions are for earlier years and the pics of the cover panels do not match. The hole you have to cut in instructions was 3/4" by 3 3/4". This was too small for my 2018. I had to cut a 1 1/8" by 3 3/4". It was still a little tight, 1.5" by 3 3/4" would have been better. The pass side end cover is not even close to the earlier models. I had to cut, test fit and try again and again. I had to fully cut one attachment point as well as a good sized piece from the side. The panel was too loose with the missing attachment, so I had to loop a long tie wrap around the hitch to firm up the cover. But everything did fit eventually. Looks very nice! I wish I remembered to order the rubber hitch cover when I ordered.

Had a bit of a hiccup with the physical box being damaged from shipping, but the guys at etrailer were prompt in getting things right. The communication is beyond impressive. Installed by myself with the help of a jack. Some trimming is involved of the black plastic cover underneath around the receiver itself. Snug as a bug and got me and mine 2,044 miles to our new home without a single problem! Thanks etrailer!!!
Clever, those long, stiff-wire bolt guides... really helped align the hitch holes with the factory holes. Looks smooth and clean when installed, with no bracing framework showing. Tip: Buy yourself a fresh box of those pop-in plastic pins at a paint and trim auto store... hard to salvage the originals. My 2010 Prius is load-rated at 927 lbs. Counting down, that's 200 lbs of me,10 gallons of gas for 60 lbs, hitch and insert at 43, snowmobile trailer & spare at 418 for 721 lbs, leaving me just 206 lbs spare capacity for my 150-lb aluminum brake. With tools and materials adding another 200 lbs, I'm over the manufacturer's recommended limit, yet it seems not to labor. Some have commented of towing 1500+ with this hitch. Glad I went with the full 2" receiver... nice product. I do 100-mile runs to MPLS to work on son's house and still get better than 51 mpg.
What our customers are saying:
"hitch arrived on time, and it took me about 10 min to put it on . thanks alex"
